Assisted Living Concepts Inc Dba Reed House / Unethical practices

1 Denison, IA, United States Review updated:

How can a company bill my father for move out charges when he didn't even move in? The accountant in Wisconsin for ALC also billed us for initial assessment fees when he never set foot in the Reed House; clearly he did not know the situation at all when he sent us a letter that was ridiculously off track. It does not apply to us but now they will sue us if we don't pay for all the care and raised health issues affecting dad when he has been safe at home. Again, no phone calls are answered or returned. The same with emails. So do I risk getting sued by this company? We certainly shouldn't have to pay for getting nothing from this company for 3 months except lies and promises. They did not hold up their end of the bargain. They have the $4, 000 down payment but won't return that, and incredibly bill us for moving out. Please do all you can to keep your loved ones away from the Reed House. We have been hounded to sign up and ignored when we need answers. Some we are still waiting to hear from. The director said she would call right back. That was in January 2012. Where is all this care and personal service she promised. Take our advice and run before they get you when you are down and vulnerable. Future Employees - there is a high turnover at the Reed House. The director couldn't meet with us because she had to cook and interview and hire three new employees that day. At least that is what she told us to avoid us?

I am a former employee of Assisted Living Concepts, and am sorry to say this is common practice with the company. They only stay in business because of the staff on the front lines that care for the patients ( with absolutely no resources). I am so sorry to hear this company is still in business, it's a disgrace to the name assisted living. If you look up the reviews on glassdoor.com you will see exactly the way they run their company.
