Aspen Dental dentures

My husband went to aspen dental in elyria ohio to get his old denture repaired. They were 20 years old and cracked for the first time. When he went to pick them up the staff talked us into getting new dentures because they were so old so we agreed. The new denture hurt his mouth and he went back to get them adjusted until he finally got so frustrated he just started wearing his old dentures again! After a while he attempted to wear the new dentures and they cracked while he was eating a sub sandwitch. This was within 2 months of buying them. These were not the cheapest grade either. They were the medium grade. On top of all this we received a bill from aspen dental saying that we owe them another $293 on top of the $1400 we already paid for the dentures! It turns out that cigna dental does not cover new dentures if you buy them within 180 days of a repair to old dentures. Cigna told me that aspen dental knows of this rule and should have advised us to wait. I have filed a complaint but aspen dental is still after us for the $293. And the new dentures cracked again so my husband is wearing his old dentures. Far away from aspen dental! I spoke to the office manager but got no satisfaction.

Aspen Dental dentures

I had my teeth pulled and had my temporary dentures shoved into my mouth immediately, the temporary dentures did not fit because they were crooked, I could not close my mouth on one side or open my mouth on the other side...When the Dr. shoved my immediate temporary upper dentures in the bloody skin that surrounds the teeth once the tooth had been pulled was flipped upside down and had started to heal that way with my gums not covered with skin..I had my teeth pulled on a Friday and an appointment on the following Monday, I explained to the Dr. that I had to take the immediate dentures out about 20 hrs after he put them in because the pain in my upper gum was unbearable with the skin shoved up exposing bare tissue, the Dr. told me it was because of the dentures... I paid in full with cash and my permanent dentures have back teeth longer than the front and few teeth...

Aspen Dental in Port Richey, FL is a joke. Very rude and made the worse dentures I ever had. I complained the fit wasn't right and the assistant yelled at me saying " you're the one who wanted the cheap dentures, what did you expect?" To me $800 is not cheap and for that kind of money I at least expected dentures that fit right and that would be funtional, but after many adjustments and no hope in sight, I was shuffled out the door permanently. I am devastated and now very ill because I cannot chew food, so I have resorted to a mostly liquid diet. These people need to be shut down before they destroy anyone else's life.

Aspen Dental communication/professionalism/not clear services

I had a horrible experience at 537 Lincoln St
Worcester, MA 01605.I recently changed my insurance and Aspen happened to be the only nearby dentist taking this insurance. I booked my appointment and made it clear to check what is covered under my insurance before the appointment. I had to take time off from my work . No one told me at the time of making the appointment nothing would be done but a consultation. I was told that my teeth could not be cleaned without x-rays. I was not told that on the phone when I made the appointment. The hygienist insisted that I receive x-rays otherwise I could not get my teeth cleaned. And when I complained Dr. Umme. came to the rescue of her hygienist stating that all calls go through the 800 number and they should have informed. I insisted that I did spoke to somebody form Lincoln street office, she would not listen. I left and scheduled appointment for some other day, which was cancelled a day before saying that the office had only one hygienist and she has some emergency so we have to reschedule. Fine, emergencies do happen. so I rescheduled it.
So my routine cleaning was done and once the cleaning was done, the hygienist recommended to add fluoride treatment for teeth to be super protected. She did instructed for certain amount of time not to eat or drink. After a month, I received a bill, stating I owe $51 for this treatment. I called the office and spoke to a lady and she said that they are going to take care of the bill. A month went buy, I got another bill, called again and the same person was referred to by Jeremy, the receptionist, and she said that its all taken care off, insurance error. Received another bill, went to the office at Lincoln street in person. Spoke to Jeremy first and showed him the bill . Meanwhile, I was talking to him, another lady from the back came and she kept on nodding her head (gestures similar to like I am unbelievable). After few minutes, Bethany came out and took me inside she told me that I was being rude to Jeremy and was loud and disruptive. I kept on looking to her and I wanted to say that wow, great customer service. It is your fault and you are blaming the patient for being angry. On top of this Dr. Umme. backed her up . I have never seen a duo so disrespectful of their patients. They were no sympathies and they were not even apologetic of their error. I kept on saying that the hygienist should have verified before applying this treatment. their response was it was an insurance error and since I do not know who I spoke with, they can not verify if I have really spoken to somebody or not. They said that we are going to take care of this bill but we do not like the way you spoke to our staff Jeremy. As soon as the doctor left, Bethany again started saying that how uncomfortable Jeremy felt and they are doing me a favor by reversing the bill and if I continue to be disrespectful, the doctor has the authority to bill me back. I am incredibly unsatisfied and disappointed with Aspen Dental. I was being abused verbally by both the dentist and the office manager Bethany. I would like to know how Aspen Dental gets by, by adding fluoride treatment to a cleaning without the patients permission or explaining the cost prior to the cleaning I was treated with disrespect and borderline cruelty. I will never return, nor recommend Aspen Dental to anyone. Have an appointment in January and I will NEVER be coming back so please cancel and delete my email from your reminders. I'm happy to go somewhere else, anywhere else!

Thanks for horrible customer service

Aspen Dental appointment problem

When myself and my wife in a wheelchair arrived at the apointed time. We were told that the appointment had been rescheduled for another three weeks. When I asked who changed the appointment? I was told that it is in the computer that it had been rescheduled. I asked who di the change. The office manager said that it had to be me as no one there would have done it. My wife has to take pre-med and it is really a hassle to transport her. I had received a new prescription for amoxicilin from our doctor and complied with all appointment compliance. We had paid $263 in advance for the teeth cleaning. Then be told that "i" had cancelled three days before and just did not remember doing so. What? Well I admit that I showed my [censor] and demanded some refund of $50 to pay for our being severely inconvenienced. I was told in a very cartastic way, "if you want to complain? Well go ahead" do you need the 800 number?"

Aspen Dental dentist

I called aspen dental on Friday for an emergency and their earliest appointment was on Monday. No one told me at the time of making the appointment nothing would be done but a consultation. I took time off work and expected some relief they never even gave me an antibiotic and I was in pain. My guess is it was because they find out my insurance had a waiting period. I can't sleep, can't eat and and can't even get their after hours doctor to call me back. I feel deceived and disrespected. I coul have found another dentist that would have done some kind of treatment for my pain and discomfort if I had been told.

Aspen Dental lower denture implants

In October 2015 I went to Aspen. I had partial plates top and lower. I had 6 upper natural teeth and 5 lower. These 11 teeth were ugly, yellow and rotting so I decided to have them pulled and have a whole new set of full beautiful white perfect dentures. The doctor told me that the lower set are hard to eat with due to no suction and nothing to hold them down. She told me that my best option and the route most people go would be to have implants a few months after the extractions. I was good with that and that was my plan. I had my teeth pulled and got new dentures. After 6 months I got my permanent dentures which were not the white color that I wanted but they insisted that they were. I was disappointed but let it go. I was so fed up by this time. I said that I wanted to go ahead and have implants to help secure my lower denture. They took xrays and then told me that I didn't have enough bone to have implants. I was gutted. They should have checked this before I had my teeth pulled out. Now there is nothing I can do. I complained to head office and they told me to go back to the dentist and they would help me . After several more visits to have adjustments and several free tubes of adhesive, they told me there was nothing else they could do and if I wanted any more adjustments or work doing on my dentures that I would have to pay. At this point I was still paying $35 a month after the initial $2900. I couldn't eat with the lower denture, they just didn't fit right.
Now to top it all I have had interest put on my bill and each month they charge a late fee of $37 as I can't pay the full amount of $74, so each month I owe more than the last month. I will be paying till I die.
Now here we are months later and still my teeth and mouth are not just uncomfortable but unbearable. I have very badly fitting
dentures making it impossible to eat with and embarrassing to speak .. I have not been able to accept
any invites to go to dinner or eat out in company and this is causing great stress and anxiety. I find that I have constant
saliva in my mouth and I am not able to talk properly without spitting.
I did pay privately to see a implant specialist and he told me that there was nothing he could do.
He assured me that in his practice they would have checked my bone density before the procedure.
What is also very disturbing is the fact that not only is my lower denture rocky and sitting unevenly
but the whole shape of my face has changed. I have a drawn look and hollow appearance.
I also find that my face aches continually due to the fact that I clench my teeth in a subconscious effort
to keep my teeth in place. No matter which adhesive I try, nothing holds the denture in for more than a couple of hours.
If I go without adhesive, my denture rubs my gums.
I am devastated and so distraught by the whole process. The pain and suffering that your dental practice has caused me. Nothing will bring my teeth or smile back. Your policy should be... Check if you are able to have implants before you do extractions. Had I known this I would never have had the extractions.

Aspen Dental gold crown

A dentist ordered me a specific product as a cap on front tooth. Another dentist came along a deleted the first product and replaced it with another product.
When presented with the product I stated that it did not look gold and was assured that it was.
Upon arrival at the dentist, I was called back and asked to sign this paper and receive a $2.00 refund for the product. After leaving I looked at the paper and found that changes had been made, I called the office to ask about the change and was again assured that I got the gold cap. But that's not what this paper states.
I want to file charges against Dr. K Rajuvelu...she made the change and apparently Dr. A. Derrick-Griffith didn't have an issue with it because when they finally got it ready K. Rajuvelu put it on.
I'm sure it was done maliciously and to defraud because Dr. K. Rajuvelu had attempted to work on my mouth in the past but I opted out.

Thank You,
Cathy Carr

Aspen Dental communication/professionalism

Good afternoon! I had a scheduled appointment with the oral surgeon. It took awhile to get the appointment due to his schedule at the office. I had to miss work for my impacted wisdom tooth to be extracted. The oral surgeon recommended not to remove it due to it being next to a nerve that could cause permanent damage. I was told it was just a consultation and had to pay the fee. I was very upset that I had to pay after missing work and didn't have the procedure. The doctor should have known it was next to the nerve and should have recommended a consultation first instead of the extraction. The office manager was aware of this and did not speak to me acknowledging my frustration. She was not professional during this stressful time.

Aspen Dental overall experience and have waited for a refund since aug 19th.

Was told I was to have a filling and an extraction on Aug 17th. Went in for the appt., paid up front and then was told by a different dentist that it was not safe to have both done. I had the filling, but not the extraction and have been trying to get the refund ever since. The Chillicothe office tells me that the request was initiated and there is nothing more they can do. It was a terrible experience ever going there. I want this whole mess resolved and can't get any help!

Aspen Dental dental work

A class-action lawsuit accuses Aspen Dental, one of the nation’s largest corporate-dental chains, of illegally owning dental practices and of deceiving patients.

Dollars and Dentists, our joint report with the Center for Public Integrity reported in June that Aspen Dental’s practice of serving patients who cannot afford a dentist has led to complaints of patients being locked into debt as well as being overcharged and given unnecessary treatments.

Aspen Dental dentures

Two plus weeks ago I went to my Aspen Dental office with a lower denture for a repair. I have called twice and they are not ready. It took less time to make a full set. For two weeks I have limited eating ability with only two teeth in my lower jaw. THey only say they are back logged. Its amazing to watch tv and see Aspen ads. They are not true. The work we had done cost a fortune for two seniors on a fixed income. B ut we have to live with it.

Aspen Dental bad practice and product

My saga begins the day my 19 year old denture had a front tooth come apart from the denture. I wanted it repaired asap and my current dentist could not do anything quickly at that time. I began calling to see if I could get a dentist to work me in and repair it for the short term and work on replacing it. I called Aspen Dental and got their central office and was told that they had a office not too far way that could do it that day. I set an appointment and when I got there, I was told that I was misled, but they would do all they could to replace it asap, since the tooth was not one of theirs and that old. I set another appointment and went through the usual fittings. I bought the denture that came with a three year warranty. They never did the final fittings as I remember my old one, but it seemed fine.

However, about a month or so later, I took a bite of soft licorice and felt a crack open up. It went from the front to halfway back. I called and set an appointment meant to have the dentist look at it. I was assured it did not need replacing and repairs would be done the next day. I am glad I did not throw away the old denture. When I picked it up, they made one adjustment and said, it was as good as new and should not happen. Well, guess what, it did! This time, I was in a different state, so I call the first office and was told, no problem, just find an office close to me and they will take care of it. Once again, I go in and show the dentist the crack and they said they would do a repair, to make it good as new. They did fix it and handed it to me when I came back later that day. The dentist never did come and see how it fit or if it needed any adjusting to make sure the bite was correct (as she said she would).

The denture is not as good as new, because I can feel the difference where it was repaired! Shortly after, I received a bill, stating charges for detailed and extensive evaluation. I called and asked about the warranty and was told the repair was free, but the DETAILED AND EXTENSIVE evaluation was what I was being charged. I saw the dentist for less than 10 minutes. I guess that warranties do not really mean much if that's how they work in their dental business. The previous denture had several adjustments and was never charged. I wonder then why a auto warranty does not charge you when you bring it in to get diagnosed for an issue.

Aspen Dental crown

Beware of this dental practice, they damaged my tooth to the tune of $2000. Aspen Dental of Klamath Falls, aka Two Thirty Dental LLC owned by Dr.George McKee. This practice refuses to accept responsibility for substandard work done in my mouth.
Learn more here: twothirtydentalcaution dot org Oh and please be advised, although this practice employs licensed dentists, they do NOT do all of the work, but rather pass off advanced responsibilities to their dental assistants (which in some cases is legal to my dismay). Enter those doors at your own risk if you so choose, but please post your comments as soon as possible at the above site if you too have had a bad experience.

If I can warn even one person, preventing them from the tremendous pain and suffering I've endured, then I can say at least there is something good to come out of this dental disaster. Please, don't become their next victim! Its not fun; it's extremely painful, at least that was my experience. This comment is specifically for Aspen Dental of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and Aspen Dental of Roseburg, Oregon. Thank you.

Aspen Dental unethical behaviour from office manager

Hello
I am Jacquelyn Henderson, my address is 401 north lake ave #311 in Sioux Falls SD.
I have a complaint about Aspen dental located on 41st street in Sioux falls SD. On August 8th 2017 I had my first consultation appointment with an Office manager, Eric Rebnord.
I do not have any dental insurance, but I did let him know that I had a $3000.00 credit limit with Care Credit, which I have kept in good standing with for over 3 years+ I told Eric I could ask for an increase to cover my dental cost/needs.
He said it would be very difficult to get an increase from this company, but Aspen Dental has Dental First financing plan that they work with.
At this time he had given me a care plan estimate of 5628.00, Eric included a discount of $309.15. This was for the extraction of 9 teeth and a full upper partial denture and full upper permanent (comfylyte) denture. It also included the necessary impressions, hygiene rinse and other misc. tooth care products etc.
In the comments he noted: " Patient is going to use dental first to pay her entire treatment plan. The above est. includes full upper imd. comfylyte, with all extractions and her permanent dentures, and her first two perio therapy appointments. Patient will look into her lowers at a later date, once her dental first is paid off. epr."
My credit limit was approved for $6400.00, and after leaving there and going home and discussing this plan with my husband, I decided to ask if the entire 6400.00 amount could be financed and that I have Eric give me another care plan estimated to include my lower partial dentures also (and 4 teeth removed). I only had 9 teeth left on the bottom and was concerned about how my 'bite would be if I did not get both upper and lowers.
A new care plan was done on August 10, 2017. Now the price was increased to $7587.00 with a discount/coupon of $1117.80.
Please keep in mind in our verbal agreement this price included 4 lower teeth extracted and a temporary partial and permanent partial (lower). but when I received my actual care plan papers, I became confused about why there were additional work noted in the comments section. which now read: "Patient has added her lowers now to her treatment plan. the above est . includes full upper imd. comfylyte denture with imd. partial denture and all extractions. Once patient pays off her dental first we will do two crowns and then do her perm dentures. epr
My problem with this is my temporary lower dentures do not fit well, I went back in to let them know I could not even talk or eat with them. the dentist Dr. Kutkat an associate dentist, did some grinding on them and put them back in my mouth and told me I'd probably have to remove them to eat and to use dental fixadent to secure them. She also stated I may lose some weight also!
I once again wanted to make sure the care plan which was a total cost now of $6469.20 was to not have any conditions. and I felt it already needed clarified.
I should not be expected to pay off my Dental First loan, before I receive my permanent dentures, and I should not be expected to pay for two crowns in order to receive my lower dentures. these things were not even mentioned in our discussions, but later appeared on my care plan. I feel that what's communicated, and what ultimately ends up on my care plan are two entirely different things! When I call customer care center to make a complaint and ask to a regional manager, she called back only once, she said she'd talk to Eric... once that is done, Eric calls me and tells me to stop calling the customer care line, that its only for emergencies. I explained to him that I was not satisfied with hearing one thing and seeing a different thing written on my care plan and I will be talking to who ever is willing to help me get this straightened out. A second call was made to ask the regional manager to call me, which never happened, but I did get a call from Eric telling me Sara (the regional manager) will not be contacting me, that I have to talk to him only!
There were issues with the financing, I am working directly with Dental First and the bank who is affiliated with my loan, to ask if I can extend my deferred financing, because Eric had told me Dental First did not offer 24 month plans, but I found out by calling the bank directly they do offer it . I have a request in to change that from 18 month deferred payments to 24 months of deferred payments.
This has turned out to be the most stressful situation I've had dealing with a business.
I cannot seem to get any concrete written agreement from the office manager stating exactly what type of permanent dentures I will have in the end. He tells me I'll be receiving a full upper comfylyte and flexi/combo lower permanent denture, but when I ask him to send me written verification to me via email or an update care plan I get nothing.
I am not satisfied at all with my lower temporary denture, and cannot eat or talk properly with them in.
I hope someone out there can help.
Sincerely,
Jacquelyn Henderson

Aspen Dental upper dentures lower partial

I've been to Aspen Dental over 30 times this is the worst place I've ever had to go to for Dental Care. I recommended two people to go and I highly regret it. The first person I've recommended says she can't even wear her bottom denture, I can't wear my top or bottom partial because it causes my mouth to be sore. I can't chew, I can't drink from a straw and it causes my throat to be sore my primary care physician asked me to find out what type of material this product was made from this is a serious matter...

Aspen Dental tooth porcelain filling - no guarantee

On December 30, 2016, I had an appointment to get my tooth fill with porcelain, and now a piece of it is broken. I went back today {08-24-2017} to see if they can fix it without cost since my filling doesn't have a year, and they said that I have to pay for the fix. I think this is wrong because the filling has only 8 months. Aspen Dental Killeen, TX 2202 South WS Young Dr. Ste #102.

Aspen Dental "sold" substandard partials instead of $75 repair

Are year ago in March I went into the Peoria, AZ office for a $75 repair on upper partial. A tooth needed to be glued back in. Instead they talked me into a full set of upper and lower partial's at the tune of around $1500. They kept insisting my 7 YEAR old set was "temporary ". They tried their best to talk me into pretty expensive metal or flexible ones. They were fully aware that I was leaving in two months for Washington state. "Oh no problem, we have offices there for follow ups and we can get this done in plenty of time." Well no they couldn't. I was in there four or five times before I even got a pair of teeth to put in my mouth. On the second visit it was clear the tech had made the teeth as if to receive a metal roof. I pointed this out. I told her I want exactly like my old set. She took pictures! It was corrected the next visit, BUT, now instead of a partial that should've been made in one whole piece, it was basically patched at the roof of the mouth (which just happens to be exactly where it broke in half less than 6 months later). And a few months after that it broke again after their repair in Washington state. Now it's "out of warranty"and they say "Hey, you were told these were only temporaries." And want to charge me $100 for that same repair. Upon inspection after the second breaking, both the upper and the lower partial's are about half (that's 1/2) the thickness of my old pair. Of course it breaks the first time it's dropped in the sink. My old pair was twice as thick and lasted seven years--I'm wearing them now sans the aforementioned tooth. As an aside, I'd like to add that the Peoria office, once it got the second half of my $1500, all of a sudden got real busy and had to book out a week or two weeks out before they could make another adjustment on my teeth because they hurt. They still hurt when I got to Washington several months later. I want my money back for the upper AND the lower because they're a matched set. Their ads say money back guarantee-- just saw one last night. Hence this complaint.

Aspen Dental unprofessional treatment to a pregnant woman

I had a horrible experience. The office was closed because of a water leak. However, my appointment was not cancelled. I'm pregnant and I made that very clear to everyone. I was told that my teeth could not be cleaned without x-rays. I was not told that on the phone when I made the appointment. The hygienist insisted that I receive x-rays otherwise I could not get my teeth cleaned. I was very uncomfortable having x-rays taken, but they basically bullied me into having them. Over 14 x-rays were taken, because the hygienist made an error. After the x-rays, I received the worst oral exam in my life. I have had regular dental treatment my whole life. The hygienist proceeded to poke my gums to see if they would bleed. I was told that I have gum disease and tooth decay until I reminded her that I was pregnant. She said it was "probably due to my hormones." She then told me that I could not have my teeth cleaned and would have to come back next week for another appointment. I went to checkout and was told I would not be billed for the x-rays/oral exam/cleaning because my insurance covered the treatment. Today I received a bill. I am incredibly unsatisfied and disappointed with Aspen Dental. I was treated with disrespect and borderline cruelty. I will never return, nor recommend Aspen Dental to anyone.
