Purchased living room furniture from Ashley Furniture in Frisco TX. (Loveseat/Sofa/Chair/Halifax/Walnut) SKU #'s 2550335, 2550338, 2550320 and along with these items purchased the 5 yr warranty. Purchased 02/24/08and delivered on 03/09/08. Items are peeling and where the coloring used to be brown; they are more of a red undertone now with a little over a year of use in a household, no children, and no pets. I've contacted the store, the warranty company and a repair guy which would cost an additional $85.00 to provide an estimate. I was transferred by the local store in Frisco to corporate which they stated the number was [protected] X 1802. Spoke with a rep at both locations and only to be told that one year manufacturer warranty would not cover as I had exceeded the 12 months and the 5 yr warranty would not cover the peeling. However, as the previous complaint was posted about leather peeling from Ashley products, the warranty covers several other issues which are considered accidental. I have also reached out to the Frisco retail store as well as corporate asking if there is a way I can order replacement cushions so I don't have to replace all items but was told, "no, sorry, you are past the 12 months and there's nothing we can do for you"!
In addition, one of the asst mgrs at the Frisco store told me that peeling occurs when wearing certain types of clothing, like Levi jeans with metal brads...very assumputious and far from the truth! Instead of trying to assist, they prefer to make up excuses for their poor products!

Suggestion would be if the retailer is not going to honor the products for more than 12 months, but have received previous complaints regarding the same problem; the retailer should be held accountable at whatever cost. If that's not in the minds of their corporate management, then at least make the replacement products available to the customers! What do they have to lose by offering the replacement pieces???? Nothing, since anyone with an issue of almost new furniture will not return to purchase "new/replacement" furniture from the same retailer that doesn't stand behind their products!!!

Extremely disappointed with Ashley Furniture and their service level. I can honestly say I will not be returning to purchase any future items from them nor will I ever refer them to anyone.
