WARNING! Ashford University, RUN FORREST RUN!

After investigation of Ashford and Bridgepoint Education, the company claiming affiliation with Ashford University, evidence shows that Bridgepoint is an affiliate of Universal in California which is not an education company, it is a music and movie corporation. It also, owns theme parks across the US. Yet, Bridgepoint has an SEC filing which puts it on the NASDAQ stock exchange.

The Iowa Attorney General has confirmed that there has been numerous complaints from students regarding the legitimacy of Ashford University. If you have any complaints and know of any financial crimes committed by this University please contact Steve Switzer, Investigating Officer of the Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division 1305 E. Walnut Street, Des Moines IA 50319, telephone number [protected] or [protected] Fax: [protected]

The address for the San Diego Ashford University registrar's office is 13500 Evening Creek Dr., San Diego, CA 92128, reported ;to the student by enrollment advisors but Bridgepoint Education Corporation which Ashford affiliates themselves with is located at 13480 Evening Creek Drive North San Diego, CA 92138.

The police dispatcher in San Diego said on Sunday, April 25, 2010 "that street doesn't exist in her computer files."

Ashford U courses are NOT transferrable to any unique college. So have fun! and PAY to Learn Nothing yall!

Ashford University is still holding my bachelors and masters degree due to them staying I have a balance of $1900. I filed a complaint against this balance and they still holding my degrees which I worked to hard for. I have not legal prove that I have a degree when applying to jobs. I owe student loan over $100, 000 because of them and they are withholding my degree for $1900. They are a rip off and fraud. They will say you have a balance, but don’t take balance from your loans instead want you to double pay.

Ashford is preventing me from getting a job due to the fact that they claim I owe them for a course. I appealed the failing of the grade because I was going thru personal issue and they still denied my appeal and wanted me to pay back the money. I am in debt from ashford for over $100, 000 in student loans and they are preventing me from employment for $1900 they claim I owe. I completed my ba and maed and have no prove that I have completed it besides a student loan bill. I contacted them recently regarding and employment opportunity and they needing my official transcript and they told me that I have to contact a third party who took over my account to work out payment before they will give me proof of my completion. I have been unemployed since I completed my course work for ashford. no proof no job and no money to support my family. all that equals is debt.

Ashford only wants your money; they lie, and even charged me for 2 semesters instead of just one. They shoud be sued and closed down. I wanted to pull my hair out due to all the stress... Every time I had a problem.they kept switching me to a different advisor. I had a lot of advisors during the 16 weeks.

I too have been wronged by Ashford University. Two months AFTER completing my degree requirements a charge and hold was put onto my account. It took several months and several phone calls (initiated by me) to find out why. Everyone that has been wronged somehow by Ashford University/Bridgepoint Education please contact me via http://allyslifelemons.blogspot.com/. Or contact me via the message feature on this site. What the school is doing is fraudulent and illegal and we need to band together to put a stop to them. I urge each one of you to contact me.

Poor help from financial aid office and misleading advisors who won't return phone calls or emails. They just pass the buck when asked about how money could be owed from two years ago and transcripts/degree being withheld.

I have a similar situation. Right now I am trying to find a way to fight this:
I attended Ashford University for my Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration. I am a graduate with a great GPA. I recently went to go for my Master's Degree and Ashford will not release my transcripts. I reached out to Ashford to find out why and they said I have an outstanding debt which is in collections. I asked why. They explained that I have taken a 4 credit course which financial aid did not pay. That is understandable, but I remember the conversation I had with the advisor when he suggested the the 4 credit class and he said this would be taken care. This is just so you don't have to take 2 courses when you only need a 4 credit course to graduate. ( This was my last class) I spoke to Ashford via email asking them if they record conversations because the advisor advised me to take this course and financially it will be taken care of. NOW, they wont return emails, phone calls, and have a collection agency calling me. The collection agency said they can't do anything, this was sent to them by Ashford. NOW, I can't go get my Master's degree at any college because even if the college would accept an unofficial transcript, FAFSA will not release any funding. There has to be something illegal going on here, as it seems in the posts, I am not the only victim. If anyone is trying to do something legally, please let me know. This is not fair to students that are trying to better their life, but they are being stopped because of misguidance, and plain out being robbed.

Wow!, was all that I could say when I stumbled across this website. I was in the process of answering an email that I received from Ashford University regarding a balance of $1.500+, when I stumbled onto this website. I saw that under the counselors name was the website information from Bridgepointe. Since, I was curious, I clicked onto it. It then went to a regular google website that listed things like Bridgepointe schools (innovators) (successful programs) and (SCAMS). I clicked on scams, now I am really just pissed, confused and upset right.
I have read all of your postings and I can relate to all of your experiences (good & bad). I began Ashford in 2009. Two colleagues at my place of employment were completing courses for their BA and they loved Ashford. Although, I had completed my degree at a major university in town, I really wanted to return to school and complete my master’s degree, but I could not find the time to attend school. I seemed impossible to commute to the university, remain active in my daughter’s school and work a study full-time job. Although, I was very skeptical of online schools, I had much respect for my two colleagues. I then began to visit Ashford’s website and once I found out that it was a legitimate school that you could physically attend and was accredited, I felt better and decided to apply.
In the beginning things were great. I worked very hard in some classes and breezed by in a few others. It was great. My gpa was a 3.5 and all was well. However, after completing 30 credit hours of my required 36 credit hours for my master’s degree, things began to change. Upon completing my courses (my 30th credit course), I received an email from Ashford stating that I could not register for my final two courses, because they DID NOT HAVE A COPY OF MY BACHELOR’S DEGREE. I was pissed because I knew that Ashford had a copy. I knew this because prior to them claiming that they did not have a copy, I asked for copies of transcripts for my master’s degree (just to show my employer that I was completing my master’s degree at Ashford) I asked my advisor if he could also send me a copy of my BA degree. He told me that he had it there in the file, but he could not send me a copy of the BA, I would have to get it from the original university. I said okay and all was well. I received my BA copy from my former university and received a transcript of my MA courses that I had completed so far at Ashford. I gave all of this to my employer. NOW TWO YEARS LATER AND TWO COURSES WITHIN GRADUATING FROM ASHFORD THEY REALIZE THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE A COPY OF MY BA. Although, I still had copies of all the information that I had sent Ashford when I enrolled, but I still contacted my former university and they sent Ashford a copy. Okay, by this time I had already missed the enrollment period for my next course. Oh well, at least I could now move on. Once the next term began, I realized that I had not been enrolled, I contacted my advisor who informed me that there was another hold placed on my account and he did not know why. He told me to contact financial aid and I did so. Financial aid told me that they had discovered that I had some fees from somewhere in 2010, that totaled $1, 400+ and they had to be paid before I registered for the next course. I asked them how they could continue to allow me to receive refunds or continue with school then wait until I was two courses within graduation to tell me this. They said they were sorry. I contacted another financial advisor who informed me that it was an oversight, but I would be registered and they would take it out of my financial aid for that semester. I said okay. I told her that Ashford gets all of my money, before I even see it from financial aid, so make sure that they take all of their funds before they send me anything. She agreed. I got back into my courses and completed them this past April of 2012. Anxious to graduate, as I was applying for a new job (that required my completion of my master’s degree), I was happy as can be. However, in May of 2012, I was contacted by Ashford who’d said that they had been trying to contact me for weeks to let me know that my $1400 balance that was now $1, 500+ was due. This is while I was completing my last course. Remember, I completed my last course in April of 2012, and you could not contact me or even post an alert on the portal for me. I was pissed, angry and upset, because not only are they telling me that I won’t receive my degree until this balance was paid, but I had applied and was qualified for a better paying job that required my degree. I argued for the whole month of May and June of 2012 with Ashford University.
It is now July of 2012, and the job that I applied for is still in discussion stages and since the employer confirmed with Ashford that I had completed the degree, I am still being considered for the job. As for Ashford, I have learned my lesson. I have decided to go ahead and just pay the $1, 500+ and get it out of the way so that I can move on. However, I have contacted another major university within my area and now I am applying to a master’s program that is more suited to help me reach my career goals. I know that it seems crazy to complete another master’s degree, especially when I completed Ashford’s with such a high gpa. But with all the craziness that I experienced at Ashford, I do not want to wake up someday and truly find that my degree from Ashford is worthless. It’s just a chance that I am not willing to take.

Not sure what happened to the layout of my first post, trying again.

What I experienced near the end of earning my BA with Ashford has kept me up many sleepless nights when I start thinking about it again. Time and again I've written of this problem. To begin with, I feel like, earning an old school's credentials, they are allowed to lie about having them, getting to wait until 2014 (or so I've heard) before they are actually reviewed as they are rather than as the former owners were. It is my own fault, eagerness, and naivety that led me to sign on the dotted line for student loans to attend higher education through them.

Everything went swimmingly at first (though there were a few hiccups), I tried not to get too discomfitted by how easy everything was and how, despite the level of class I was taking, I seemed to always be in a class where at least half the students never would have graduated from a high school class if I had anything to say about it. By that time I was already $10k in debt/loans in and I thought, well, they ARE accreditted, I should push on so I at least have that piece of paper for my debt. So I buckled down and focused on learning the most that I could (pretty much on my own, the teachers were VERY rarely of any help; in fact several times I provided free tutoring to fellow students, some of which insisted I should teach the class instead).

I got to the end of my degree and they found over $2k worth of outstanding charges. I was encouraged to fill out a grievance complaint to open a neutral, third-party investigation into what happened since all outstanding charges should be applied to my loans. I was also allowed to pay the graduation fee and have it specifically go toward the graduation fee so I could get my piece of paper rather than to an outstanding balance in question.

I got the result from this supposed "neutral third party" and the universtiy's decision in the same document (that alone makes me question how neutral and "third party" they can be). Basically, they found my suspicions of what happened were correct. As I stated, I had, indeed, filed my last Master's Promissory Note on time, but it had been misfiled and not even entered into their computers. Now it was too late to get the loan company to pick it up. However, they did find a pell grant they could apply (that brought it down to over $1.5k owed) They were sorry for the inconvenience and as a "customer service gesture" they would allow me one unofficial transcript after I set up a repayment plan and made the first repayment (starting no later than two weeks from the date of the letter/decision). No consideration was to go to the fact that I was able to easily defer my student loans. They did not care that I might want to attend a brick-and-mortar college offering advancement in my degree (who would want sealed official transcripts), they did not care that different jobs I might apply to using a BA in education (some jobs don't actually care what it's in) would each want their own copy of my transcripts (let alone that they'd be hesitant to hire a recent grad tied up in clerical paperwork regarding an outstanding balance when there are plenty lined up with a perfectly accessible degree and transcripts), they wanted their money, period, money they were only owed because they misfiled paperwork. It is also money that would have easily disappeared into the thousands I owed in student loans if they'd done their job right.

They stopped harassing me (which they did while the grievance took a total of 6 months to be considered) 3 months into the grievance with phone calls and emails to pay my outstanding balance after I lodged two complaints that it was in grievance. However, during the second waiting period (in which it seemed my issue was simply "forgotten about") I kept getting offers for alumni grants instead. I marked down an interest with a question I figured would have a strong no. I wondered if I could get the alumni grant just for being an alumni and use it to pay off the outstanding balance.

No, of course. BUT, I was assured over the phone, what I could do is pick a different major to pursue graduate studies in, then I would get the alumni grant and more student loans which would put off paying the student loans I had to defer even longer and I would get plenty of excess money with my new loans to easily pay off my outstanding balance. All this suggested AFTER I burst into tears explaining my plight to the man on the phone and how Ashford destroyed my trust and faith in higher education and, no matter what, I simply could never trust them again. If I pursue my masters, it will be with a non-for-profit school and definitely not Ashford. The way it was delivered seemed like some cruel trick. After I hung up with him, I received a few more emails (despite saying I was uninterested and to take me off the list) to become an alumni with grants for more studies at Ashford. I was notified when they finally supported a masters in my field as well. Too late. At this point, it almost feels like they knew my time was coming to an end and they did not offer the rest of what I needed, so they pulled a deceptive clerical error to give backward incentive toward me choosing a different major to avoid debt I could not immediately afford so they could have more thousands in government loan money.

The more I researched this and talked to a few friends in the legal field, the more it sounded like a dirty tactic and possibly a script that guy had to offer over the phone. Everyone encouraged me to find a lawyer. Ashford insisted on answers so, while looking for professional, legal counsel (but not really knowing where to start since these friends were not actually lawyers but only aides and such), I was forced to inform them that I was seeking legal counsel and why and that I even if I intended to pay them what I owe, I could not afford it anyway (this is why my loans were deferred as well, I reminded them). They almost immediately sent me to collections. This collection agency has not contacted me again since I informed them that they were sold a debt that was being contested.

For the record, I went from a student in excellent status to being marked a delinquent. I get no access to my transcripts and no degree. They pocketed my graduation fee, after all, I requested it not go toward paying a contested outstanding balance (and it never did, but I also never really graduated, and never got the fee back). Now I'm paying back over 20k in student loans, am not sure how or if I'm ever going to be able to proceed to another accredited college to actually make a degree in psychology mean something, and I don't even have the useless piece of paper from them to "make it all worth it." Oh, and of course the collection agency hiked the cost of what I owe.

My friend recommended me to Ashford University. As a military spouse, I was looking for a supportive and better class structured then from my previous college.
I started attending Fall 2010 in Ashford. I sent all the correct documents and followed all procedures in order to attend Ashford. I applied for aid and loan because aid was not enough to cover all costs especially even after the military discounts.
My last class ended December 19 2011. I choose to go back to University of Maryland College because they had a better program for psychology and counseling then Ashford. They also had better certification programs that fit my needs. I never had any major issues with University Maryland but the longer courses. Obviously they changed it to shorter courses that delighted me. Ashford I had a hard time contacting via email and phone with the advisors. I understand they have so many students, but trying two weeks to withdrawal from the College University is unacceptable.
I signed a cancellation form for ALL future loans and disbursements. “Since the loan amounts are scheduled to come in tentatively at the end of January, you would want to fill out a loan cancellation letter that is attached above. You will want to make sure everything is completed that is necessary on the form and submit it back to me at your earliest convenience. You can review the amount of loans that you would like to cancel by reviewing your award letter that was sent out to you via email for this award year, ”-By my financial aid advisor.
I thought I was in the clear not owing in any money because this form was for future loan amounts and aid amounts that would be obtain 2012. I withdraw and did the correct procedures. I even checked my balance and in fact it did state I did not owe any amount.
On February 17, 2012 I received an email from the Ashford’s collections stating I owe 8, 995 dollars. Last time I check I did not owe anything. Come to find out they took upon themselves that they cancelled the FALL 2011 loan and pell grant after I received it. My classes were paid for and yet took it upon themselves to cancel the previous aid/loan that paid for my classes in the fall. What I don’t understand how can they cancel a loan or aid that I did not cancel in Fall 2011 when in fact I was still in school with Ashford. I did not even request a loan or aid cancellation until Mid-December for FUTURE sources. Secondly I finished my last course in December, which ended the 19th 2011. I was also told I did not meet the academic quota for courses and aid/loan and had to retrieve the loan/aid back. I called the lender and they said they received refund from the Fall 2011. I told them I did not cancel funds for Fall 2011, I only cancel funds for future resources. He (the lender rep) told me they refund 6, 000 something dollars. Pell grant was only 1, 170 or around there. That means what was the “other” money for? .
What upsets me more, that BEFORE anything Pell grant should be used and yet, they did not used the Pell grant before the loan. Also, the loan and any aid cancellation was for FUTURE disbursements but yet, they took back the Fall 2011 when I was actually attending Ashford at that time.
I had no emails or notifications of owing any money. I have checked and been told I did not owe any outstand balances. Then when I retrieved this collection email, this has become news to me.
I feel Ashford has abused and committed fraud in the system. I believe because I withdraw I am being punished.
I have NEVER had any issues with aid/ or loans with any college or university before until Ashford. I never had to “owe” money or had a college go behind my back, and try to commit such fraudulence acts.

I don't have anything else complain except their dishonesty and lack of communication.

People ace classes without studying, nothing new there. To get an A, you must do very well on quizzes... and every class has essays. Your claim that you did no work for an A is an outright, mightily exaggerated lie. Even to do the quiz, without a text, you would have to look up all the information on the 'net- and LEARN! The quizzes are challenging. You can't answer unless you know the material and can process it mentally to discern the most correct answer.
Also, I went for 2 full years, and have only $13, 800 in debt. I paid only $1500 out of pocket the entire time. How is it you paid twice as much as I did for your education? That makes no sense. Do you have debt from elsewhere that you are adding in to magnify your claim falsely?
Your arguments don't add up.

I was approached by a door-to-door "salesman" to attend Ashford. Making promises he couldn't keep. I have just graduated after 4 years, over 70, 000.00 in debt...my financial aid ran out because it wasn't able to cover the cost of the classes. I have had 19 different student advisors, 11 different financial aid advisors, and filed a complaint for the release of my financial aid funds, which of course, they denied and found "no grounds for further action." I have just received a letter from Ashford telling me that if anyone from the Iowa Attorney Generals office contacted me, to please speak highly of the college, and not say anything "degrading." I kept that letter, along with a ton of other documentation that shows this college is a fraud. The teachers are unqualified and the classes are lame. For proof...I took one class where I studied hard, read the book, did all of the assignments, and received an A. The next class, I didn't buy the book, didn't study, gave it no effort whatsoever, and STILL got an A! Sad situation. Taking advantage of students and their desire to make a better future for themselves is nothing but a financial scam for the school.

The problem with message boards is this: Ashford University has 80, 000 students enrolled. How many are having problems? The "silent majority" are those who like things the way they are. A few more points:
There is no law against enrolling someone "before financial aid is approved". Many people have cash or cashflow to fund their education.
My advisor was very clear about the transfer of credits- they had to be approved. My only beef was that they would not invest any hours into looking at my credits until after I started classes. However, the number they promised could be transferred, were transferred.
TA's that sabotage learning? AU runs a very tight ship. I find that to be an incredible claim. Add to this that in my 16 classes at AU, I never once had a TA (teaching assistant). Each class was led by one professor, same as most college courses I ever took, except 3 I can think of: Judo at SJSU, Psych with Gleitman at UPenn, and Chemistry at SJSU.

Ashford has had a history of complaints from many students. Everything from being enrolled before FA is approved, being left with huge balances, not getting transfer credits when told they would, not having access to classroom, and FA and AA not being available, TA's that sabotage learning, and instructors that are MIA and never resond, and student resolution not following through. Message boards support all of these issues. Some have transferred, some have quit, and others just don't know what to do. Read the information out there is all I am saying.

About this Chicken Little scare post: The senator attacking Ashford is a United States senator, not an Iowa state senator. So, why is he attacking a program in his own state, not one in one of the other 49 states?
His complaints have centered around this: Why are most of the jobs, and the high-paying administrative jobs, in California? Why aren't more of the jobs in Iowa?

If anyone sees this line of questioning as anything more than an attempt to create better numbers for the senator come election time, you need to step back and get a wider perspective on how things are being run in the U.S. government.

I attended Ashford from 2009 to January, 2012. I received my degree. The only problems I had were with one professor (human resource management). But, that was an individual person, not the university or the university system proper. I was able to transfer 60 units and start Business Management. I considered International Business Management as well. I was able to arrange my first two classes as ones which would apply to both programs, and that was arranged for me. I also signed a document which made AU disburse my funds directly to me within 14 days of them receiving the funds from the Fed and the loan originator. I had none of the problems listed in previous comments. I have an article with more information here:

For puck247e - I attend Ashford University and feel your gross generalization of the people disputing their issues is completely inaccurate. I have a financial dispute going on right now regarding my current due balance. Although my finances tab shows I have an almost $1200 credit they are telling me I owe them $800. So I asked for an itemized bill showing the line items and they outright told me they will not send me a bill. I just have to pay what they tell me I owe in order to move on to my next class. I don't know about anyone else but when, say, my cable bill shows that I have a credit on my account I don't send them a check. If they tell me I owe money anyway they better prove that is the case. Ashford has not only NOT been able to prove it, but they point blank refuse to try. I've contacted the AG of Iowa with a complaint.

Oh and just so you know, I'm a 4.0 student, a junior about to enter my senior academic year as an English major, and I use my Financial Aid to finance an education which will help me garner a better paying job in the future because my husband and I are below the poverty level in this country.

Please think and gather facts before you generalize. Some of us have legitimate financial disputes and have come to learn that the business practices of this University are shady at best.

I attended Ashford University Since August of 2009, I actually transferred from a community college to thier online campus. ALL of my credits transfered, my financial aide was completely straight. Never had a problem with getting my stipends for tuition and books. I graduated in May with a BA in psychology. A lot of these articles talk about the high drop out rate, well I am willing to bet those are the people who thought it was going to be easy. My husband went on campus at a local college and when it came to homework mine was ten times harder than his! He will even admit mine was much more difficult. So can someone tell me...name one online college with a low drop out rate? University of Pheonix was horrible! They charged way too much, refused to refund my moeny after I dropped thier courses within the time window, AND thier credits were non-transferrable! It is much harder attending online college then on campus, more distractions at home like phones, friends and tv. If they want to crap on the online schools, maybe they should look at the public traditional universities and explain why tuition is twice as high for the same accredidation. If you are an online student, or even an adult you should keep an eye on the finances related to school to make sure they add up. Yes there was a time where I got charged full tuition rate and not the military rate, but because I kept an eye on my account I was able to correct it immediately! Why if Ashford is a fraud do they have a SOCAD agreement with the military?

I believe you are absolutely right! Online school is difficult unless the student keeps up with his or her work. Online classes are usually a bit more accelerated, as they require a semester's worth of work in about 6-10 weeks, depending on the program one is in. It is different from attending a traditional university. I worked very hard for my Ashford University degree and I had good teachers. Whatever the problem is, it needs fixing. They should probably move the online school back to Iowa in conjunction with the brick and mortar school. That should take some problems away from what is happening in California.

You realize that Ashford is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and has been since the 1950's. You can drive up the 15 freeway in San Diego and see the office building. It's right off of the 15 freeway and Ted Williams Parkway. Every college makes money off of your Financial Aid money. State colleges are just upset because they aren't as flexible or convenient and they don't offer 58 BACHELOR's degrees so people don't go there. Ashford is also the most affordable online program for BACHELOR's degree. (THEY DON"T MAKE YOU SIGN UP FOR AN ASSOCIATE'S FOR ONE PRICE AND THEN DOUBLE THE FEES FOR YOUR BA LIKE OTHER SCHOOLS...PHOENIX)

People who complain about online schools are the lazy people who were just trying to use Financial Aid checks to buy a car, pay some bills, or take their kids school shopping. You can't use FA for anything other than EDUCATIONAL EXPENSES. So don't complain about online schools when they don't give you a fat stipend check back after you've paid your fees. Even if you got a huge stipend back you couldn't spend it on anything other than school expenses. If you want a degree from a Univeristy it's expensive. The MBA program at Ashford (which I am enrolled in) is more affordable than the state University I went to for my Bachelor's degree. S

Stop complaining about a legitimate school because you failed to go to class and do your work. Stop complaining because you didn't log in to meet attendance requirements and you got kicked out and charge for a class you failed. Stop complaining about online education and how it's a waste of time and money. There ARE definitely schools out there that suck and just want your money, but Ashford is not one of them. If you want a school that just wants your money and doesn't give you a usable degree you can go to Kaplan or Everest or South or Strayer.

Those things you are talking about regarding Ashford is not true. Ashford is not a good school because the staff is defending the instructors. If you file a complaint against their instructors they will go against the students like they are not putting in the hard work or you not reading the instructions or they will say every instructor is different when they grade your assignments. You give the student resolution dispute worker your proof or evidence that the instructor is not be fair with the grading are any wrong doing in the class rooms. ASHFORD will still go against you as a student and say the instructors did nothing wrong. I was going to Ashford University for over 2 years and had so many bad experiences with their instructors. I'm a good student that did all of my assignments journals quizzes etc and wrote excellent papers and some of those instructors tried to lower my grades and treated very unfair and wrong they tried to say that I did not follow instructions and I know I can read they try to make it like I was dumb. And the staff was no better they kept saying that every instructor is different and they should not be no different than the other instructor that gives you a good grade. Something is wrong in that picture? One instructor says you are doing well in class and gives you all good grades and then the other complaining that you are not using critical thinking or your grammar is bad amongst other things they try to find on your paper that is not true. I just recently dropped out of this awful University because of a instructor kept dropping my grades and I was only at Week 2. I was not going to fail that course at Week 3 so I dropped out of the course. This instructor was really out to get me my grade would had kept dropping into a failing status. So now I'm trying to get credit for the two weeks I was in that course, and I know they will go against me and not give me the credit. I will need legal advice to help with this situation. Do anyone know an attorney who I can talk to or I can participate in a class action lawsuit. My number is [protected].

The report detailed undercover investigations into 15 for-profit schools that uncovered misconduct by school staff. The state is reportedly looking into allegations at Washington Post Co.'s (WPO) Kaplan Inc.--including its Kaplan University, Kaplan Educational Centers and Kaplan College units--and at Education Management Corp.'s (EDMC) Argosy University, Apollo Group Inc.'s (APOL) University of Phoenix; Corinthian Colleges Inc.'s (COCO) Everest College and privately held MedVance Institute.

There's no affiliation to Universal in any regard, Bridgepoint Education is the company that owns both Ashford University and University of the Rockies. The HQ is on Evening Creek Drive in San Diego, CA 92128 and it is a real street. The value of the education you get is questionable, go to a real school if you want a real education. Bridgepoint/Ashford/Rockies is a money making machine first and foremost!

you state that Ashford U courses are NOT transferable to any unique college which is BS because I transferred mine to a community college. Also, other peole have done the same. See http://www.onlinedegreereviews.org/college/ashford-university-reviews/bachelors-of-science-1435/2360/

The police dispatcher probably couldn't find the street because Evening Creek Dr. is not in city limits; it is in an area called Sabre Springs, outside of the city.

I have been attending Ashford University for 2yrs now and am completely screwed. I was constantly being told excused by student advisors about where my stipend payments were going. Out of the 10k a year I borrowed I would be lucky to get 800.00 for books a year. But I am going to sue Ashford and keep them from screwing over anyone else. They screwed over the wrong person this time!

Hey Virginia

I was also a victim of Ashford, they waited until the week before I was to have graduated and blocked me from getting even transcripts. On scam reports.com as they have many complaints against them for the same thing. It might be possible to start a class-action suit given the number of students burned by Ashford.
