I lived in Sutton Place apartments for almost 3 years, and It was the worst living experience I ever had... They go thru management every other month or so and there is someone new working in the office all of which were probably trained in a 6 hour class... Some of the things I had to put up with while living there.

1. The upstairs neighbor was loud sometimes and played video games all night long and had his tv up what seemed like full blast... So I went up there and asked him to quiet down and he was drunk tried to fight me I didn't really think much of it was kinda mad but went to sleep... Wake up next day there is a whole in my wall and he obviously put it there... So I file a police report and they give me paperwork then when I go to pay rent that month the 'Apartment Manager' tells me she cant except my rent until I pay 250 dollars to fix the door even though I had a police report I still had to pay.

2. My girlfriend who had a parking pass got her car towed and also had to pay 250 dollars to get her car back, they said they have nothing to do with the people that do the towing.

3. I signed my 30 day notice that I was leaving they didn't offer to do a walk thru of my apartment, I figured they were going to steal my deposit anyway so I'm not going to hire cleaning people to clean my apartment because I'm not getting any money back anyway so what ever... About a month later they send me a statement saying I need to replace the Carpet, Paint, Resurface the counter tops and bathtub... and all kinds of crap that was normal wear and tear that added up to like 1400 dollars. Then the Collections guy he had a last name of Lee I forgot what his first name was... Called me up telling me 'Its obvious you have short man syndrome but if you don't pay the money I'll see your ### in court it will be my pleasure'

Moral of story: DON'T MOVE IN! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. If you don't believe me please keep reading up on Arnel Management, you will see many many stories, not one of them good trust me.

I completely agree!
I rented at The Cape, a short term lease, and they are trying to illegally withhold some of my security deposit. They are withholding for an extra days rent from my deposit-when we gave the keys and gate opener to the office we asked for a receipt and the girl said "they don't give receipts- we don't need one that we're fine!" But they didn't report the correct date to the main corporate office.
I see that they already had a class action lawsuit for doing this to numerous people- Can we get another one started?
The guy that the Cape office who rented to me is named Kurt Richard Robinson and a girl named Kristil Chappell will laugh at us when we try to give her important information to substantiate our claim and the main Arnel supervisor we have dealt with is Veronica Beaver.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I MUST SAY THAT NONE OF THIS SURPRISED ME IN THE LEAST BIT. I WORKED FOR ARNEL BACK IN DECEMBER 2001 AND THE EXACT SAME BULLSHIiT WAS HAPPENING THEM. THEY ARE THE EPITOMY OF SLUM LORDS. AT THE TIME STEVE MENSINGER WAS THE PRESIDENT OF THE CO. IN THE EVENT YOU ARE TRYING TO GET A HOLD OF THEM AND THEY FAIL TO RESPOND YOU CAN FIND THEM PERSONALLY OVER AT METRO POINT ON SOUTH COAST DRIVE NEAR KARL STRAUSS ACROSS FROM THE CAPE. THAT IS WHERE THE CORPORATE OFFICE IS. THEY ARE IN THE HIGH RISE BUILDING NEAR FINBARS AND THE PARKING STRUCTURE. THEY ARE ON THE 6TH FLOOR (or 5th) THEY GOT SUED A LONG TIME AGO FOR FAILING TO RETURN DEPOSITS. I THINK PROBABLY THE MOST SUCCESSFUL WAY TO BE HEARD AND DRAW ATTENTION WOULD BE TO PICKETT AND PROTEST IN FRONT OF THEIR "PRIZE PROPERTIES" THE CAPE, WIMBLEDON GLEN, AND SOUTHPOINT. RALLY PEOPLE BY MAKING 100'S OF FLIERS INFORMING TENANTS OF THE ILLEGAL AND FATAL BUSINESS PRACTICES AND LATE AT NIGHT POST THEM OF EVERY SINGLE DOOR. BY SATURDAY MORNING YOU SHOULD HAVE A PRETTY GOOD CROWD OF MISTREATED TENANTS. WEEKENDS ARE THEIR BIG DAYS TO RENT APTS THATS WHY YOU ALWAYS SEE THEIR BOOTLEG SIGNS POSTED BY ALL THE FREEWAY ON/OFF RAMPS. PREVENTING NEW PEOPLE FROM RENTING AND ENLIGHTENING CURRENT RESIDENTS WILL MAKE THE OCCUPANCY DROP RAPIDLY, THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO HURT ARNEL, ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS NEW LEASES. YOUR POWER IS IN NUMBERS. SO BE LOUD AND PROUD; FIGHT BACK! (WHERE IS DAVID HOROWITZ WHEN YOU NEED HIM, OR MAYBE CHRIS HANSEN (the "to catch a predator guy) )
