So they say they have brand new never lived in apartments for rent. So we leave our deposit a month before we are going to move in and our rent a week before we move in then the day we move in the a/c doesn't work the base boards are not on the doors don't have locks i had a list of 29 things that the manager needed to have complete and of coarse she says ok well we have lived here for a week now and the only thing we have had fixed was they gave us light bulbs for our stove and fridge and she told me she was done. This is the worst apartment i have ever lived in i cant believe how much it is and how nothing works. If anyone knows who owns this place let me know! O we have and infestation of hobo spiders that make webs on everything and not to mention they are poisonous and wasps in our parking stalls and stray cats that roam at night. It looks nice on the outside and it seems like it would be great but beware these people are slum lords and don't give a crap about anything but getting the rent from us. Don't move here no matter what they tell you or offer you. The manager is exactly what she looks like. Beware!

I want to warn all who are considering moving into these apartments. We moved in thinking we would be living in a smoke-free apartment since one of the major agreements on the lease was no smoking in or around the buildings. However, we were soon proven wrong. We had a neighbor who smoked inside of his apartment and the air flowed directly into ours leaving our rooms, clothes, bed, everything smelling like someone was standing inside our apt smoking 5 packs a day. We hoped our manager would do something about the situation (especially since multiple tenants we're affected and complaining about it) but frustratingly nothing ever happened (besides a warning given) and we lived in a smoke house for the remaining 4 months of our lease.

Also, we are very tidy and respectful people. We left out apartment in far better condition than when we moved it (when we moved in the baseboards were filthy, the tile was muddy, and the fridge was dirty). Yet we did not get one cent of our deposit back because it was "not clean".

I don't usually do this. In fact, this is my first time writing a negative review. But this experience was that awful that I really wanted to get my word out so that, in the very least, management might be motivated to be more proactive in keeping their apartments smoke free and taking care of their tenants.

Hillrise Apartments Suck !

Dont be their next sucker, just moved out of Hillrise Apartments in Cottonwood heights Utah in less than 3 weeks of living in that pos. I moved in on a weekend and gave my 30 days the following Monday. Worst place i have ever lived in 30 years and well over 30 locations around the world ! The list of problems grew every hour until i broke and demanded out of my lease, and was granted that. until They took half my deposit for a missing light bulb and some cleaning that apparently took hours after less than a 3 week residency. (i completely re-cleaned everything before i left) Everything seemed ok on the surface moving in, but shortly after that it started a downward spiral. I could hear my neighbor below me snoring at night even with a fan on that i use for white noise ! Everything was dirty, pee stains in the bathroom, dust on everything you couldnt see walking inside, stinky fridge, gross kitchen, missing lights, broken lights, the walls truly are paper thin and i could hear EVERY conversation and fight my neighbors had including their crying baby and epic loud TV ! I could go on for days, just trust me, dont move their .

We have lived in this area for over 7 years, during that time we have heard multiple complaints from people we know who live there... not just tenants, but managers too. Funny thing, we can think of about 10 different managers in a 7 year period... some have left overnight. We have heard they do everything they can to keep their tenants deposits. We rent an apartment in the area and it is so easy to rent... all we have to do is find someone in Hillrise whose lease is up, and we have a willing tenant.

Everything you have said is absolutely right. Hillrise Apartments in Cottonwood Heights should be avoided at all costs. Its usually not the managers fault as the owners try to get innocent and somewhat naive people to carry out their orders which are completely dishonest. They are slumlords.
