antivirus.com / trojan virus scam
This antivirus product does not exist. They put a trojan virus on your computer and make you buy their product for $50 unless you reboot and do a system restore. They then send download links that don't exist and freeze up the machine, so you have to do a reboot and system restore. They don't even remove the trojan, which is what I expected at the least-a sort of hostage/release blackmail scam. Their websites and product are make believe; amazingly, they have a merchant bank account listing antivirus.com as their company name. I had to report the fraud to mastercard and replace my accounts. They have a domain run via planetdomain.com in Australia, a managed hosting company. It is amazing the F.B.I. cannot suspend their services their. I have reported them to the cybercrimes unit.
