Anthropologie received two tops instead of one

I bought a top from Anthropologie and was charged twice. I contacted customer service and told them there was a mistake and they asked me not to worry and promised to fix everything. They did nothing and several weeks later I received two tops. I contacted them again and said that I want to return one (tops were the same) and get a partial refund, but they refused. Their rep said that I ordered two tops and there was no mistakes! I tried to explain that I purchased only one top but they simply ignored me. Very bad company, I will not buy from them again!

Anthropologie horrible customer service - managers are worse

I ordered a top by calling and had to hold a half hour to have this stupid rep put the wrong size in. I specifically asked for a size 4 petite...And an email confirmation that the order went thru..Nothing came. I checked my anthro account to see she put a regular 4 in the system. I had to call back and hold another 30 minutes on new years day - my day off...To deal with a little college brat manager named "dominick" who told me he could not change the size..Only cancel the order and charge me a second time, tying up my money for a second charge that should not have occurred due to anthropologie's mistakes. I was not tying up my money again a second time and i was very clear i wanted my order canceled..He was a smart as$$ and didnt cancel the order after i spent an hour on the phone dealing with this to end up with no top at all because i would not allow anthro to hold more of my money due to their err. I got no cancel notice and checked my account numerous times to see this jer*weed never canceled it in the system which is malice and pure unprofessionalism on anthro's part. Ive sent many cancel requests now via email but if history repeats itself they will conveniently not reply and allow this item to ship - i will not be returning this top to anthro using my gas and ore of my time and energy on this. If they send me this top i am keeping it which is useless anyway because its the wrong size and i am filing fraud with my bank and i am done with them after the way i was treated. This was the second order i placed today..This morning i spent $230 - this was in addition to that and ive spent thousands of dollars in the last 3 years to get nothing but ignored and hassle. This store thinks they are a monoloy and can mistreat consumers and still get business. Not me..This did me in today and i was very clear in my question to this "dominick" and asked if he'd rather lose my business entirely than offer a more fair resolution and he said yes he will lose the business because all he could do is cancel the order and leave the charge as pending with my bank for me to charge my card a second time for the right size when his rep did not get my order right. There is something wrong with this company. I am done.

Anthropologie serving unlabeled alcoholic beverages to public

We have lived in Hoboken for six months. A couple months ago mother in law was visiting us in Hoboken on Sunday August 23rd is when the incident took place. It was 82 degrees in Hoboken and as I walked around Anthropologie with my husband and his mother we came across a large jug of what everyone, including us assumed was iced tea with tray a various pastries. There was no label on on the self serve beverage dispenser or the food, nor was there any hostess of any kind during the entire time I was in the store there was never someone monitoring the food and beverage setup. My first thought was how nice that was of them to serve refreshments to the public on a hot afternoon. I didn't take anything and continued looking around on the first floor. My opinion of the refreshments quickly changed when my panicked husband came rushing over to me asking for the water in my bag informing me his mother just had taken a few large gulps of the "iced-tea" and was more than distraught as she immediately felt alcohol in her system. My husband's mother is the sweetest woman in the world and it was heartbreaking to watch her fight the tears welling up in her eyes as she explained politely to the very rude sales employee that the reason they should put a sign up listing the ingredients of the serve yourself refreshment was because she is a recovering alcoholic, sober without a sip of alcohol for 2 years until last Sunday. The girl dismissed my mother in law with a disgusting judgemental attitude and I was infuriated. I immediately went up to speak to someone at the front perhaps a manager or someone with a heart and any hint of a moral compass. The magnitude of rudeness and patronizing looks I received was overwhelming. It was almost as if they were insinuating I did something wrong by bringing this to their attention. No apologies were given, no sympathy, understanding or common decency. The girl did not even make eye contact with me but said quietly she would tell her manager. When we left 40 minutes later there was a small, cardboard sign with small writing in pen that said PEACH MANGO BELLINI (with champagne) in smaller print in parentheses. I hope everyone can read the flimsy, informal sign that wasn't even taped, just leaning against the jug containing the drink. To preface the story my mother in law was visiting from Canada for her birthday and we were at Anthropology specifically to buy her a birthday present. This was the worst birthday present I could have ever imagined. However, my mother in law is strong and she wanted to overcome this and not make a bigger scene than we had already so we continued to shop and as we did I got to thinking of all the people who had this drink before 2 PM and no wonder the young girls getting refills were giggling when we entered the store. They were drinking free alcohol and didn't have to show ID! No one was monitoring who helped themselves to as many glasses of what we found out was not the refreshing iced tea with floating raspberries but peach mango bellinis with champagne in them. I have been thinking long and hard and doing research on the laws in New Jersey. I promise you I will be looking for an appropriate lawyer this week because I don't want someone to get hurt and it's not appropriate for minors to be served alcohol. The situation was handled so dismissively by your employees at this location. Its against the law to have a self serve beverage dispenser that is not clearly labeled with its contents. Not to mention if you are going to have alcoholic beverages in a self serve beverage dispenser is it appropriate to leave it unattended? If you are going to serve alcoholic beverages in your store they should be monitored and every ingredient should be labeled clearly (not everyone knows what a bellini is, especially children) and the sign should be directly taped or fastened on the beverage dispenser. The little flimsy cardboard sign that was eventually placed leaning against the glass dispenser which could easily be knocked over or blown away. They should probably label the food too considering the amount of people who have food allergies. I am disgusted with the situation. Their store likely served alcohol to more than one minor that day. Exactly one week later I called the store asking if they were serving a beverage on Sunday and she said they weren't but they do serve beverages frequently. I then was curious as to the exact ingredients in the beverage and so I said I was having a party and wanted to have the Bellinis could they please email me the ingredients. I was shocked to find out there was 6 bottles of champagne in the recipe. At that point I did feel compelled to contact a lawyer to ensure the safety of the public. I sent an email and after four or five days have received an apology from a supervisor of some kind and they offered us gift cards which I found almost insulting at the time. What is an appropriate gift card amount for my mother in laws emotional distress?

Anthropologie online ordering

The website accepts orders for things they don't even know for sure that they have! I ordered an item online (for a special occasion which has now come and gone), waited a week, and finally called to find out why I'd never received an email confirming that my order had been received, even though my payment had posted to the bank and showed up there as "pending." Isn't a confirmation email just common practice these days when you shop online?
Not at Anthropologie. After a lot of confused questioning (because I couldn't believe a company this size would have such a bizarre policy), I finally understood how they do business online. After you complete your order, THAT is when their inventory system looks to see if the item is actually available. It might be, or it might not. If it isn't in one warehouse, they look in the other. Then they ask around at various stores. IF they find it, THEN they will actually bill your card, and that's when you get to officially start waiting for it to be shipped. If they don't find it, you will eventually get an email letting you know that the item you ordered is no longer available. This process could take up to a couple of weeks. But hey - thanks for shopping with us. Better luck next time!
Seriously, e-commerce is coming up on 20 years old. Your website should be integrated with your warehouse inventory, and tying in the actual stores is not that hard either - every cash register is a computer these days. If an item isn't available to buy, the website should say so.
Please get it together.

Anthropologie online pricing not honored - they can keep that lifestyle they are selling!

I ordered a duvet from Anthropologie and was surprised to see that shams were delivered instead, when I contacted customer services they said I had ordered the shams. I was asked to return the shams and order the duvet again. I did this, took screenshots of the duvet in my basket, the payment page, and the receipt...which all said duvet NOT shams. Once again, customer service told me the shams were showing up in their system and they could not send me the duvet because their was a $300 price difference! I was not trying to scam them...just expecting they would honor the pricing that appears on their website when I place an item in my basket! Any Wal-Mart would do this...and I know they imagine themselves to be better than Wal-Mart. Now I have $200 worth of shams that I do not want and have paid $20 in shipping charges...all of which can only be returned for merchandise credit or PayPal credit. They can keep that money-first lifestyle of theirs!

Anthropologie personal check refused

I am 70 years old and was purchasing a birthday-gift for myself. My surprise when my check was refused was embarrassing, disrespectful and uncalled for. I have never had a check refused in the 55 years I have been writing them, . I called your 800 # and was amazed to hear that this is not a common occurrence with your co.what in the world would make you refuse my x. The excuse that it is for my protection! I called my bank and ask them if they could explain this so the clerk helping me would also understand. The bank was also at a loss as to your refusal. It was my first time in this store and may be my last. I would like an apology and the store informed of my honesty having funds in my account when i write a check. Alice Model

Anthropologie bad shopping experience

every time i go into semi-local anthro stores, select employees follow me around, ask if they can hold my shopping bags for me behind the counter (i've noticed they don't ask others near me who enter the store with shopping bags)...

i am a normal ("non-criminal-looking?") 34-year old woman who frequents such stores as anthro, j. crew, the gap (i.e., i can obviously afford the clothing in these stores since i wear them regularly). this is really off-putting and sometimes makes me so uncomfortable and put off that i just leave the store prematurely even if i'm not done looking. so annoying and off-putting.

Anthropologie international shipping

Anthropologie international customer service is absolutely terrible! I bought a green dress from them and shoes to mathc. A few days later, I received an email from them telling me that the I had purchased was out of stock. Why let me purchase it then? I told them to cancel the order, as I had no need for the shoes without the dress. They told me it was too late to cancel my order? WTF? I don't want to pay $50 shipping for one lousy pair of shoes. They tell me I can send them back for a refund, but I won't have my shipping costs refunded. I am furious! Furthermore, it has been six days now and I have still not been refunded for the out-of-stock dress, for which I have been charged even though I will not be receiving it. Seriously thinking of opening up a dispute claim with PayPal. I do a lot of online shopping but I am never, ever shopping at Anthropologie again. Their customer service is the worst I have ever encountered. International shoppers BEWARE!

You must be outstanding with them but it doesn’t mean that your coworkers are great with other customers. Glad you speak for yourself. This is matter of transparency, expectations and experience with this business.

Anthropologie worst customer service/policy

So I bought bday gifts for my friends and was waiting for it but even after 5 days, it wasn't arriving. I went back to my account, and realized that it went to my billing address, and I swear (I was even with my friend), that I did type in different shipping address and it never went through! My phone number, which I updated while I was purchasing, wasn't even recorded. So I called anthropologie, and asked if I can at least get a shipment refund. The first representative said, yes as long as I let him know that someone at the billing address confirms to ship directly to me. So I did confirm it with my neighbor, and called back to let the other representative know, but guess what? He's telling me that it was my #ing fault that I didn't type in the correct address, so he cannot give me the #ing refund. What the #? I don't know what the hell the first employee wrote under my account (since i'm on the phone, you #ing #), but the second dooshbag was repeating that "that's what it's said under your account, therefore we cannot refund you." I mean, hello? Shipping refund doesn't cost more than $5, and it wasn't my fault that my updated address/phone number didn't go through. I mean update your #ing online system. And don't #ing give your customer an attitude about the whole situation! I'm telling you everyone: don't shop at this place! They have zero respect for their customers and their policy sucks. Don't shop here. The worst online shopping/customer service experience i've ever had in my entire life.

Had very similar experiences. I'll never ever buy any item from Anthro for the rest of my life and other brands from the same group (Urban Outfitters, Free People, BHLDN, Terrain).

Anthropologie this company is really just looking for your buck and they will trow away loyal employees to save a few

I worked for this company for over three years in the visual department and I over the years I slowly lost every bit of respect I had for them. The whole place is a facade, the upper management treat the people actually running their stores like peons. The product is absurdly over-priced, with a little hunting I found better prices than even my discount allowed. Little tip: Home Goods is where Anthroplogie sends last seasons home product. Check there first, I guarantee you will find a hearty amount of "Anthropolige" inspired items...that is because it is Anthropologie . Most importantly, in this time of economic turmoil, the district I worked for slowly started to push out more seasoned employees with the intent to hire new ones at lower pay scales, This agenda was painfully apparent. With over 8 seasoned employees leaving around the same time for various reasons based on false pretenses. No matter how well done the displays are, or who nice the customer service associate is, this company is really just looking for your buck and they will trow away loyal employees to save a few. Classless and low-brow. I warn everyone from giving their talents to a company who will not even pay you standard competitive rates, especially in the art departments. Don't waste your time.

The same thing is happening in mid-Atlantic stores. They are dropping the axe on the people whom have worked the longest to save a buck! My boss who was dedicated and well loved was just fired on a bogus pretext. I heard a few of them are considering a class action.

Anthropologie - never encountered such terrible service and policies

Wow, dealing with Anthopologie online is painful. The online order was split into 2 packages, and one of the packages never arrived. Anthropologie 's policy is that you have to wait 14 days of not receiving the package in order to file a claim. Except of course, in that 14 days, the item that was lost is no longer in stock. Since it's no longer in stock...
