Kitchen sink was leaking. Jack the Plumber of Ango Plumbing showed up. Tried to charge $220 to replace the pipe. Absurd amount so said no. Then offered to repair the pipe for $100. Still too high but if you have a leak it is kind of hard to argue so told him to go ahead. He 'fixed' it, was paid $100 and left. Next day the tap started to leak, and a day after that the original pipe started to leak again. Called Jack who wants an additional $120 to fix it. Got another plumber instead who did a good job for $50, no leaks for a week now.
So 1) Jack tries to charge a fortune 2) causes a second leak 3) does not even fix the first one and 4) wants more money to come back and clear up the mess he made
Still speechless. Dont know how he stays in business or looks at himself in the mirror in the morning

Had contacted Mr Lim of Ango Plumbing as he had assisted us with a leak in our master room toilet bowl at our previous home. He was patient and meticulous in checking the source of the leak before proceeding with the suggested course of action. As such, we trusted him to be able to help again when we noticed a leak in our common toilet in our new home.

Mr Lim arranged for his workers to come by and check, which I was a bit surprised as I had assumed he would be coming over personally. As my toilet bowl was attached to the wall and floor, they had to hack it out to reach the concealed pipes. This was understandable as there is no other way to check otherwise. Upon inspecting the pipes, the worker mentioned that they seemed fine and there were no leaks. However, he still proceeded to change them as he advised that these are the usual suspects if there is any form of leak. As we were travelling overseas the next day for a month, we decided to accept his advice as we were worried about the possible disaster if we were not around and the leak persisted for a month.

After all works were done and the toilet bowl re-installed to wall and floor using silicon, was told to observe and there will be 3-month warranty. Was charged a total of $380. Found the price too high, but trusted them due to previous good experience with Mr Lim.

Next day, found that there was still leak again around toilet bowl area. Reached out to Mr Lim and was told not to worry. Just turn off main water supply, and if still having issue when I return, can reach out to him again.

One month later, upon returning from trip, checked and found that issue was actually not with toilet bowl, but with leak from shower cubicle that then seeped out from small gaps in grout between floor tiles around toilet bowl. Messaged Mr Lim to inform him about it and expressed my disappointment that work was just carried out even though actual source of leak was not identified. Was hoping he would take the time to contact back and offer some goodwill compensation, but he read my messages and simply ignored without response.

Will definitely no longer be reaching out to him for any plumbing services. Extremely disappointed to say the least.

I have engaged Ango Plumbing's service few days ago. I was introduced to them by my mum and i decided to go ahead with their service despite seeing the complaints here, which i am glad i did.

At 1am, i found that toilet pipe had burst. Panicking i called my mum was given Ango plumbing's contact number. He told me to close my water meter first and he arrived at my doorstep aft 30mins. He was very skillful with his job and he explained to me what he was doing as he was fixing the issue. He fixed the pipe burst at about 2-3am and his total charge was at 250sgd, which i think is reasonable (included the material fee + consultation fee + urgent case).

Since he was so friendly throughout the process I told him about the complaints i saw here and he told me that he was aware as some of his clients have highlighted it to him and he is not IT savvy so he can't do anything about it.

Before posting ur complaints publicly please communicate patiently with them and they will help. They are just a small local biz trying to earn a living so be kind and give them some time to help resolve your matter.

Hi there, I experienced the same experience with Ango plumbing. I stay relatively close to their shop, and they charged $50 for consultation just to “check” my house’s toilet bowl as it was leaking. They say would have to remove the entire toilet bowl to check the source of leak and trusted them to do so. After 24 hours, we realised that they just used industrial glue to “glue” the toilet bowl back onto the wall. And they charged $200 just for this.

Quite shocked at how many others have faced the same issues from their dishonesty. Never trusting them again.

My bad, they replaced the parts for the toilet bowl which was causing the leak. My main concern was how they just glued the toilet bowl back onto the wall..

I had called Ango Plumbing to unclog my kitchen pipe. 'Jack' charged me $400 for clearing the blockage and replacing the kitchen sink pipes which he alleged to be faulty and wearing out. This is despite the fact that there was no leakage with the pipes at all. I told him go ahead since he had come and I trusted his advice. Less than 3 days after Jack replaced my original metal pipes with inferior plastic ones that look ill fitting, the pipes leaked at all the junctions.

At the same time, in place of my efficient gauze strainers, Jack provided strainers that have big holes which allowed food to flow through and cause potential blockage.
His colleague also threw away 2 of my good quality original strainers and 2 outlet covers in working order that came with the sink without my knowledge. He was only able to retrieve 3 of them from the bin centre after I found out and informed Jack.

Initially, he agreed to come and replace the pipes and strainers. However, after I asked him to also replace the strainer that his colleague threw away (he said it costs $60) and provide metal pipes that are tightly fitted at the junctions, he said he will reimburse me $180 as he has no time to come. When I told him this is not acceptable, he immediately offered to pay me back the full amount which he claimed was $300, forwarding me the receipt he screenshot.

To my horror, I realised the receipt given to me had indicated $300 instead of $$400 or $380. I had paid $380 to him as I ran out of cash which he accepted without hesitation.

I pointed out that I had paid $380 as that was the amount he asked for. Now, he is in total denial and said that the receipt reflected is $300. I will follow this case with the police due to dishonesty and gathering of evidence.

I have never come across such dishonest plumbers that not only replace my working pipes with leaking ones that are totally uncalled for, but also overcharges me and gives me the wrong bill. Anyone who reads this, kindly steer clear from this company at all costs.

Jack has recently reached out to me and initiated a refund. He is sorry for what happened and I accept fully his apology. I had written to Complaints Board several times to have my post removed but did not receive any response from them. I just read under the platform’s Q and A that posts cannot be removed. Complainants can only indicate that the case had been resolved.

Since this case had been amicably resolved, I hope Complaints Board will seriously consider its removal to give Jack another chance.

Yes indeed! He just cleared the choke in my kitchen charging $180! and his crew check my toilet bowl and said there is a leakage and suggest to replace the water pump system for toilet bowl! we got the bill is its $150! That is really absurd! Think more complaints out there and only not known!

Hi, I agree with you. Today I just called him to come over to fix the leaking pipe which is inside the walls. It turns out that he can't do anything about it and still want to charge $40 for transport.
May I know how to contact the second plumber?
