home inspection
On October 3rd an inspector from amerispec inspected my home for a potential buyer. When inspecting the electric panel he unscrewed the whole panel from the wall rather than simply opening the door. In the process of taking the whole panel off he tore the paint off the wall. I notified Kevin Laleman and he admitted that this was an error. Here is his email I will copy and paste regarding the damage:
"Krista,
We're very sorry to hear about the damaged paint at your condo. The inspector tried to cut the paint as best he cut so he could gain access to the interior of the electrical panel for the inspection. Unfortunately some of the paint did chip. The buyer was present with the inspector and saw this issue and is accepting of the chipped paint.
Sorry again for the inconvenience.

The paint is not "chipped" it is torn off.
The potential buyer backed out and now Kevin refuses to pay for the damage.
poor service
Amerispec did an inspection on our Kingsville Home Purchase. All passed inspection until we listed the home for sale less than 1 year later. A prospective buyer had it inspected with another Inspection Service and the roof failed inspection completely. The roof had to be completely re-done at a cost of $6, 000. We had the roof inspected by another home inspector and 3 roofing specialists and they all confirmed that the roof needed a complete rebuild. This Amerispec Inspector completely missed the roof deficiencies and this cost us $6, 000.
