America's Tire Customer service call

The customer service call today was terrible. I was on the phone with a representative name ROSE who was being completely rude and degrading me when all I had was a question about why I have a minimum payment when I paid the entire balance off. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she yelled at me saying her supervisor was going to tell me the same thing and she ended up leaving me on hold and I wasn’t able to speak with her supervisor. I just want to know why I have a minimum payment if I paid the entire balance. I’m still on hold as of right now.

Desired outcome: I would love to speak to someone nicer to answer my question. Not someone who is just going to yell at me.

Thank you Charmaine and sorry if I spelled your name wrong I don’t mean to. I appreciate you!

America's Tire Damage to my car

I took my vehicle to the Murrieta, Ca location for a tire rotation and balance. When my car was returned to me the plastic casing around my was seatbelt on my drivers side was scuffed. It looked like someone slide something against it and marred it; grease was visible on it as well. The grab handle on the passengers side bolt cover was popped out hanging and broken; with visible grease as well, along with a scratch like a backwards “P” was etched into it. I called and made them aware as soon as I noticed which was already when I was well on my way to going to my sons soccer practice an hour away. The gentleman who answered the phone who went by the name Michael said to bring it back and they would [censored] the damage and see what they could do. I had told him I wasn’t available but I would be there the next day. My husband and I brought it back to the store the next day we got there and an employee said it would need to be looked at by the manager who wasn’t there at the moment but to return in an hour; so my husband went back and he spoke with the store manager Tom; who said it wasn’t his workers, they have no business on the passenger side and the seatbelt on the drivers side they wouldn’t even use because when the port their vehicles they don’t put the seatbelt on. These were our points exactly. Why in the world were they destroying my car, in places they should have never even been. I priced the pieces that needed replacement and they were not even expensive why would I try to make their company pay for them if it wasn’t them who did it? The parts were only something like $53 ; this is minimal. It’s the principle that the manager didn’t even try to sound concerned or bother checking into the situation. He should have at least pretended to care and said he would ask whoever worked on the vehicle that day if they knew anything. I’m sure nobody would have admitted to it since they didn’t come forward to begin with. However, I know that I did not drop off my vehicle with these things wrong with it and when it was returned to me it had these issues. I would like someone to please contact me in regards to this matter. We have been an Americas Tire loyal employee for years, this is disappointing. I can’t explain how or why this happened when I was only there to have work done outside of my vehicle. I know it sounds super weird but I believe they have an employee working for them that may like to destroy peoples property or something. This is so ridiculous.

Desired outcome: Not really sure.. but a response would be nice.

On/4/2022 I bought a set of 4 tires Yokohama Avid Ascend GT 95v 215/60/R16 When I went to pickup my car I as surprised to find 2 tires were used tires dated week 35 of 2019 and week 36 of 2019 There were even signs of wear, the little rubber tentacles were eroded and also the treads groves were dirty, dusty. The side walls were brushed off with black...

America's Tire service

I was told that I was going to get a free replacement tire that was under warranty and had paperwork and receipt showing that. When my tire came in and I went to have it installed I was told it was it would be $84.00. That's on top of the $187.00 I had already paid them. When I questioned it the manager said it was a mistake and tore up my paperwork in front of me. I am a long time customer but they have lost all future business from me.

invoice #1757241

Desired outcome: return my $271 dollars I paid for my free replacement tire

America's Tire Service

I had an appointment today 5/10/22 at America’s Tire, 5551 Lone Tree Way

Brentwood, CA, [protected] 4:30pm, arrived 4pm & was helped by an associate for what seems to be an easy 2 tires on an existing wheels being transferred to a Tesla Model Y became a 2 and a half hours ordeal. The job was estimated to be 45min to an hour, while talking to an associate there was another customer who had an appointment at 5pm, came 2 persons behind me so I figured mine will be done before hers. WRONG! An hr passed & I came back from my walk & noticed the woman behind me who had an appointment at 5pm was almost done so I figured mine was done too but though I didn’t get a notification that my care was done. Went to the counter and asked what the status & the car was still nowhere in the system, the associate forgot to log my car in for service. I asked what happened & they just said that my car was next but clearly they forgot about my car. Took them 3 hrs with No apologies from them and they didn’t seem concerned that they made a mistake. Truly bad service! Period. I have been taken my cars there for years & now they just lost business from me. Also the guys working on damag/ scratched my wheel cap for the 20” Induction Tesla wheel because he didn’t know how to take it off, I had to stop him and show him to take it off. The tire valves from my wheels are also missing. I won’t be coming back to this place. Waste of time.

America's Tire Stolen oem stem caps

Took my vehicle 2013 Lexus GS350 to replace 4 tires in Merced, Ca America Tire. Came stright home and rest. As I was heading out to the grocery store notice my cluster tire pressure light was turned on. I then call America Tire and was asked to return the vehicle for check up. The single tire sensor was verify broken or bent. Thought all problem was solve and believe that America Tire did a wonderful job to keep me on the road safe and sounds. Instead the next following day I've decided to go to Costco to fuel up some nitrogen tire pressure into my new tires again notice all my Lexus OEM tire stem caps was missing. I was then totally 😡 flare with anger. Why? If that individual wants my stem cap just asked I would have bought that individual a new ser of stem caps instead stole mine. This is unprofessional and tiresome due to the fact that I have to find some time and go to Lexus and get the original stem caps for replacement.

Desired outcome: Just make sure this incident does not happen again to the next customer.

America's Tire Tire repair

Today at 11 am I arrived at 2288 Monterey road to get a tire repair on the new tires we bought two months ago. We also bought the road hazard warranty. I was informed that five care were ahead of me and that it would be about 90 minutes. I said ok. And one and a half hours later I am still waiting but see that two care that came in long after I did were in the shop being worked on. I asked

And was told they had appointments. So now I see four guys working on these two cars and looks like one guy in training and my car still sits. It was just a nail in the tire these other cars are getting tires or whatever else.

Now understand this one I have worked in and ran service departments for 33 years. I know how they work and should work. I saw a poorly run shop communications are poor. Overlap in procedures that slow the process down more than it helps. I use to use americas tire for all our shop needs as well as personal needs. I have had good experiences with them but today just to much

Desired outcome: Maybe we should just get a refund of the road hazard warranty and then I will take my business elsewhere.

America's Tire New tires charge $25/tire to exchange

Good afternoon,

I am writing this to inform you of what has transpired. I have been a long time returning customer of America's Tire for over 20+ years throughout the many vehicles my entire family have owned in the past. I recently didn't have a good experience at the Walnut Creek, CA (1350 Pine St.) location where I have taken my car in for rotations religiously and again, purchase of numerous tires. Just a little background, I try very hard to keep on top of maintenance for my car rotations, oil change and alignment, because unfortunately I learned a hefty lesson many years ago when I owned my Chevrolet Tahoe. My tires then needed replacement after only having them for a couple of years because I didn't keep up with rotations and alignment. I learned this very valuable lesson the hard way of how important it is to rotate them. Sure enough once I learned that golden rule, the next set of tires I had on that Tahoe were Michelins that were rated at 80k miles, and those lasted me over 95k, well above their warranty because I took good care of them and was religious about bringing them for rotations.

I took my 2015 Toyota Prius to this location on Friday 4/8/22 for its scheduled rotation. Zac checked my car in and he looked at my tires, came back inside the store and advised me that one of my tires need to be changed; the other 3 tires can wait but should get changed soon. I apologize I don't have the specs (per second tread remaining). I asked him a few times about the condition of the other 3 as far how much longer would it be before I really need to replace them and said soon he couldn't really say depends on how I drive, and still continued to say that the one tire should get replaced. All 4 tires on my car that day were Continentals (that were purchased also from America's Tire, same location, in 2018 I believe). I know that as a rule 2 tires should be replaced at the same, not one, especially since he said I should replace the 3 soon. It would just make more sense to replace 2 now I thought and the other 2 remaining tires in a month or so. I asked if I could get some type of credit since I did purchase the tires from them. He gave me reasoning of he can only give me credit for the one that's needing to be replaced for $25.00 but not for the other since it's not quite ready to be replaced yet. It didn't make sense to me. I then opted to get 2 of the same tires (Continental) that I already have on my car which cost $326.00. There was a line of 4 people as he was the only one working and as he was helping me, one of those customers came up to him to ask a question if they can do a particular service so he doesn't waste time in line if America's Tire couldn't help him and can go somewhere else to get it done than wait because there was a line. I didn't want to take up too much more of his time because he kept giving me one line answers and wasn't too helpful with my situation. I felt $326.00 for 2 tires were very expensive for something I wasn't expecting to get that afternoon and trying to ask for other tires, any rebates available, credit for the tires, etc.. I felt he wasn't really very enthused about helping me as I asked a lot of questions of ways to reduce my cost and what was wise for me to do. I did ask at that time the cost if I were to get all 4 tires replaced out the door with tax/fees and he stated it was about $640.00. Which I thought was crazy expensive considering when I had my Chevrolet Tahoe I was able to replace all 4 tires with Michelins for $750.00. So I replaced 2 tires that afternoon in the original tire size of 195/65/15.

After thinking about my purchase and what I will need to do shortly (replace the other 2 tires), I went online to see about getting all 4 tires at a reasonable cost. I found them on Amazon for all 4 tires for $350.00 (Firestone) for a bigger tire size of 215/70/15. I am going with these bigger tires because I had my car lifted 1.5" about 15 months ago, and these would fit my car and is less expensive than the 4 Continentals at $650.00. I also looked at other tires and they were generally less than America's Tire. So at that point, I contacted AT to ask if they match and the guy who answered the phone said they don't. At this point I wanted to return the 2 tires because from what one of the guys working in the garage the day before, he said I have 30 days to return them. He said I couldn't return them. I explained what's transpired and he wasn't helpful. So at that time, I then inquired about getting all 4 tires all season size 215/70/15, I spoke to Mike (manager) and I priced a few brands with him as I had a budget and at the same time I was interested in getting at least 65k mile warranty on them as the tires that is 80k mile warranty cost a lot more. I asked how much those were after fees and he said $465.00. After asking a few times what I would pay and if he was going to also deduct the $25.00 credit I was given prior, he couldn't tell me what I would pay until I come to do the exchange. Finally, I went with the Yokohamas all season which Mike ordered and they came in on Monday 4/11/22. Again, Zac was there and I was being charged $225.00 for the difference which I thought was a bit high so he went and got Mike, and what he did was refunded me the amount previously charged to me for the 2 Continentals and charged me for the 4 Yokohamas for $495.00 (because I purchased the coverage). I'm glad Mike did the transaction this way so it's cleaner and it was actually less than when I walked in when Zac said I would have to pay $225.00. I have to advocate for myself because I don't have money to freely spend on these tires, but of course, I want them to be good tires that would last as well. I just felt that Zac (who was the same guy who was only wanting to change my 1 tire a few days before) wasn't very helpful to begin with and I felt taken advantage of that Friday night when I dealt with him originally. That experience didn't sit well with me and I felt cheated. I felt that he could've extended his customer service a little more than evening like the older guys who used to work there at that location did in the past. They were very knowledgeable, extremely helpful and they gave us customers a few options. They actually cared. Not straight one sentence answer that even google can offer me more help than a human working there. Hearing options and actually seeing the guys who work there care a little bit more about their customers is helpful and very reassuring. The interaction I had with them I felt there was no compassion, no empathy and they were like robots, no smile, no expression.

I drove with it a couple of times over the weekend on the freeway and side streets and they feel high(er) than what I expected and felt odd. I drove over the bridge and my car shook a little more perhaps it may have been windier, but they are taller which makes a windy day more unstable when driving. I contacted the company who did the lift on my Prius and he stated that the 215/70/15 was the maximum size I could get. He recommended getting 205/70/15 which is a half inch smaller overall in diameter and a bit narrower and he recommended the Altimax RT43 all season. As much as I really didn't want to call and have to go through that again, I do need to get smaller size as the 215/70/15s are taller and feels off/weird. So I made another call to America's Tire this afternoon and Zac once again answered. He said they probably wouldn't be able to take them and so he got Mike (the manager) on the phone. I spoke to Mike and I told him I'm sorry I'm contacting him again, and explained the situation to him and asked him if they have the Altimax RT43. It appeared they only had 1 in stock so he would have to order the 3 tires. I also asked if any of the other local America's Tires had them and none around. I asked when they would be in and he said maybe tomorrow (Friday) but it's Holy Friday, so possibly Saturday, but most likely Monday. Mike said that he can order them no problem, but he would have to charge me $25.00 per tire to return them because this is the 2nd time I'm returning them. I asked him if he could help me out with those charges because my intent with this whole process has been to save money for good tires, and now I'm spending way more money than I should be. I also reminded him the first set of tires I purchased were the 2 tires that I probably shouldn't have because I wasn't given options. Zac only wanted to replace my 1 tire and who in their right mind replaces 1 tire especialy if the other 3 tires are just about shot. So based on what I know 2 tires should be replaced at a minimum if 4 can't be done at the same time, but never just one tire! Mike stood his ground and said he would have to return the tires and that is a $25/tire charge. I asked for the price and he said I would have to pay an additional $251.00 more. I also asked him if I bought these off the bat how much would that have cost and he said $595.00.I expressed to him that was so much money. Once again, I asked him if he could help me out with those fees to return them and this would be the last time they would hear from me and he said he had to return the tires and there would be a charge. Again, only one line sentence just words rearranged differently and stated than before. Like I said above, no compassion. This makes me sick to spend so much money on tires.

As a side note, I did contact another local America's Tires and the guy at that location said if I were to order them online tonight, they would get the tires by noon the next day. This is normally what customer service should look like. Just goes to show you other America's Tires location offer options. I've contacted a few of them since my whole tire experience a week ago, and they've all been very helpful and offered suggestions etc. The Walnut Creek store doesn't offer peep. I was needing to go out of town this weekend and now won't be able to go since I will be waiting for my tires to come in.

I can tell you that I won't be returning to America's Tire at this location on Pine St in Walnut Creek, CA. This is actually farther from me and out of the way but have chosen to come here for the reasons I've stated above. The older guys (please bring them back) who used to work here definitely provided excellent customer service and was so helpful that's why I kept coming back. I understand it's the same company if I choose to go to another America's Tire location, but at least I will getting good customer service/interaction and the help that I need, and not deal with young guys and robots.

I contacted the corporate but the automated system provided a phone number of [protected] which I called (Discount Tires) and spoke to Lloyd and I explained what was going on to him. He told me that he would relay the message to Jake Huntington who is the VP of this region. I am still awaiting a return call from him. I hope that you would be able to help me with this $25/tire return fee. Please advise, thank you for your time.

Truly,

Cristina Montecillo

Desired outcome: no charge of $25/tire = $100.00 to return/exchange

America's Tire Service representative Illegal actions

On November 26, 2021 I went to the American Tires located at 11501 Jefferson Blvd, Culver City, CA 90230. I went for 4 new air valves. When I called in and asked for the price I was told $25 per-valve. Yet, when I arrived I was told $85 dollars for new valves and a new spare tire. But if I give them $60 cash I can have everything at a discount. I paid the $60 when the service was complete and I was refused a receipt or information on a warranty.
Now on 11/29/21 I have a flat tire.
Name: Johnathan Powers
Car: 2007 Toyota corolla
Phone Number: [protected]

Desired outcome: I want to know if my valves are covered under warranty. Also, to know that this employee is dealt with.

America's Tire Service

The service placed my vehicle on a lift to repair one left tire which is totally unnecessary. Then lifted one side of my vehicle to repair the tire while my vehicle was still on the lift. There was a no lift bay available. I mention this because the boy intentionally had my vehicle unstable on the lift. All the other vehicle being serviced were properly guided on the lift which once again was not needed. The inept ability of these boys is unacceptable and compensation is the resolve. I had to ask for the tires to be properly filled 38psi is under filled for a tire that is 51psi. Since the tire is not oem the tire needs to support the vehicle based on it ability. Not what the manufacturer suggests it's no longer oem. I had to literally go and put are in my tires. The tire wasn't washed and cleared of the product used on tire. No manager in around or supervisor to assist.

Desired outcome: Refund on the tire purchase that was fixed

America's Tire Tire repair

Recently I went to the Palo Alto store. My right rear picked up a nail. Even though there was plenty of tread, the shop refused to repair and said I needed a new tire. This is a self-sealing tire. He said it had been repaired before and therefore they wouldn't fix it, for what he said was safety issues.
I did not order a tire from him. The next day I took my 2017 Chevy Bolt to the Chevrolet dealer. He repaired the tire. It took him 5 minutes.
American Tire tried to take advantage of my age (I'm 75( thinking I'm too stupid to see a scam.
This kind of bait and switch tactic is beneath American Tire as it is an amateurish attempt to sell an unneeded tire.
It is interesting because I had previously recommended the shop for price and service.
Now after this cheap trick I won't be back, and will be telling my friend, beware of rip-offs.
Dave Thorne- Palo Alto

Desired outcome: Repair tire

America's Tire Customer service

I'm severely disappointed with the terrible customer service that I received from the reps at 12287 Mariposa RD Victorville, Ca 92395.When I arrived at the location to submit an inquiry for service, I was ignored. My arrival/ presence was never acknowledged. I saw at least 10 people out in the service area and I even witnessed a few of them laughing, talking and dancing amongst themselves as I sat right in front of them in my car only to be ignored. I had to call in the the store and speak to the assistant manager and he came out to help me. He also informed me that the store manager was off for the day. They were really busy so I made arrangements with the assistant manager to return first thing this morning only to find out that I wasn't scheduled for an appointment and I would have to wait for about an hour or so. Despite the distasteful customer service that I'd experienced the evening prior to this morning, there was no compassion or compensation for it.
I had to drive over to the location at 15669 Roy Rogers Dr Victorville just to get the service I needed.
I'd like to commend the rep who took care of me promptly upon my arrival. His name is Pedro. I simply explained the situation to him and he was very compassionate and apologetic on the behalf of the other store location. He honored the appointment that wasn't honored at the other location and took care of my car within a very reasonable amount of time.

America's Tire Long time customer angelica colmenares experience unacceptable service

As a long time customer, I have always services my vehicle at American Tires since I2006.
Customer info:
Angelica Colmenares,
5450 DeMarcus Blvd Apt 309 (Apt was 226),
Dublin Ca 94568.
Phone 925.998.7569,

Date and Time of issue 7/27/18 Time 5:53pm
Issue:
I visited your Dublin location on 7/26/18 for consultation per my Toyota Dealer recommendation. I was informed my front tires needed replacement. I was informed Friday was booked but could be serviced first thing in the morning if I arrived before doors open to be first in line. I arrived on 7/27/18 before 8am. The gentleman who assisted in the reevaluation of my tires walked around with me to see each of the tires and measure the threading. All my hubcaps were in place. I then proceeded to wait while the van was in the shop. Excellent service was provided during my wait. The van was ready within half an hour or so. I drove to Toyota dealer in Dublin, just 2 or 3 long blocks apart. Toyota served my vehicle with an alignment quickly but I did not pick it up until close to the end of the day since I was working from home. I live in between the two businesses. When I picked up the van from Toyota the hubcap from the driver rear was missing. I inquired about it. The manager proceeded to show me the video to prove the hubcap was missing from the time I pulled into the dealer. I drove back to American Tires to inquire to recall the gentleman who assisted me and measured all the tires for threading. All the hubcaps were in place at the time I dropped it off at American Tires. The gentleman's name who assisted me at the time was Rick. I asked him to please check as I knew the hubcaps were in place at the time of service. He proceeded to address this with whom appeared to be the manager at the time with a redshirt. Rick indicated a hubcap would be ordered since he could not find it, he only checked around for 10 minutes at the most. He assumed I would walk out and be done with me but I asked for something in writing to confirm the hubcap would be replaced. I was handed a receipt that reads the following information listed below. I was not given a time when I should expect.

I have been with American Tires for many years and have read the story of your business. I totally relate since I come from a small family business that has been around for 50 years. I do not appreciate this experience especially when I came in and explained the situation was informed it may have fallen out in between Toyota dealer and your store. I explained I lived in between the two businesses and only drove it from one to the other so there was no bump in between in the now polished roads of Dublin compared to when I first moved here. I would appreciate if you can have this expedited. Thank you for your time and consideration as I am a loyal customer and this is unexpected and I am sure, rare incident. Thank you.

America's Tire "free" flat tire repair

I went to America's Tire to fix a flat back tire (Free Flat Tire repair). The worker there asked me if I wanted to purchase tire insurance with America's Tire for about $40, for all 4. I refused then let them fix the flat tire. As I left the location, I heard a clank coming from my car. The next day, my tire was completely flat. Because it was late when I saw the flat tire, I had to bring the car to America's Tire the next day, and they pulled out a huge metallic blade that was inside my tire (which was the same flat tire as the first time). They then told me that it would cost $130 to change that tire, as well as to include the tire insurance previously quoted. They told me that if I purchased the tire insurance the day before, this problem would have been solved for free. They told me that if I purchased their service, It would have been solved for free, but if I did not, would I have to receive a huge metallic blade (that is not anywhere outside on the street) in my tire? The blade was in a way that is impossible for me to have just ran into it in the streets, the way it was positioned as well as the fact that it is inside a back tire, not a front. It just does not make any sense.

Again I purchased 4 tires for my 2003 Nissan Pathfinder on 2/16/07 in Redwood City, Store, 1610 Broadway. Despite the fact that my car took 245/65-17, the sales person told me that the size was out and gave me 265/65-17. He convinced me that...
