Bad Business Practices
I wish I had seen this site first!
I used a site service that showed me the prices for an item I wanted to buy. AmericanHomePlus had the item I wanted at the best price so I went ahead and purchased it. The site listed that it was available to ship in 24 - 48 hours. Over 20 days later I was still waiting. In the meantime my credit card company called me that odd charges were being submitted so we cancelled the card. The charges were coming from Arizona that's all we knew. After another call to find out where my order was they said it was just getting on the truck from the factory so it couldn't be cancelled since it was in the process of leaving the factory. I said to cancel it as I'm renovating and can't live with the continual delay. They said it would be a 40% restocking charge (which would be hundreds) since it was in shipping. I told them "Good Luck" since the bank cancelled the card. They have phoned and sent emails asking for the 40%. Today I looked up where their domain names (web site addresses) are registered out of - and guess what? Arizona. SCAM SCAM SCAM.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Do Not Purchase
I purchased a home in November 2010 and need a Franke soap dispenser for my kitchen. Searching for it on-line, I found it advertised at American Home Plus, and ordered it, paying for it by check. When I called to verify they had received the check and were processing my order and was told the product was no longer available. Not a problem, just refund my money. I was told becasue I paid by check they would have to refund by check. I have spoken to 5 different people on variuos occasions from January til now and still have not received my refund. Everytme I call, Jeff who is the person that processes the refunds, it never in the office. I was told they don't work on Fridays, I when I call during the day I'm told he works in the evening, when I call in the evening I'm told he's not there and works during the day. I called today (03/23/11) and was told he'd be in the office after 5pm eastern time. I called and again and was told he wasn't there. I threatened to contact the attorney general and was told to hold and Jeff would pick up the phone. They kept me on the phone until they closed their office and nobody ever picked up the phone. I called back on another line along with my cell phone and a man answered quickly and ask me to hold before I could say anythin, he had put my on hold. I am so angry. If that chekc is not in my mail box this evening, I will be contact the New York Attorney General, the Better Business Bureau and anyone else that will listen.

I said that I had had my last word. Well I thought of a couple more that aren't Blue.
This is my third note today on AH+, see also my note on credit card fraud under Interior Design.
I now wish to advise that after all of the Bull in dealing with AH+ and finding they are crooks by taking my money and never intending to supply. When I contacted the manufacturer of the Door Knobs I asked them to recommend a good/reliable and definately honest supplier. They did, House of Antique Hardware, and that retailer sold me the goods at a fraction of AH+'s price. That is my fault, I was happy with the price when I ordered it. But watch out. AH+ are not just happy taking your money, they want to make sure they take as much as they can. I have never dealt with such a company. Ever.
