I highly recommend staying away from this disposal company if you can. We used them for several years. Missed and delayed pickups were the norm.

Most lately, they changed their pick-up days and weeks, leaving us with a scheduled delay of 3.5 weeks between recycling pickups instead of the 2 weeks we paid for. Then they missed the pick-up even though the can was at the curb. I immediately reported the missed recycling pick-up but did not hear back from them until 12 days after the missed pick-up - that is, more than five weeks after the last recycling pick-up. And all I got was an automated message asking me if my recycling had been picked up - which it still had not. They also do not issue a refund unless they miss two pick-ups in a row. Needless to say, we found a different trash company at a better price and with better ratings than American.

On 30 March 2023, your America Disposal Services truck for the 5th time placed my neighbors' trash bin in front of my house (4509 Dodds Mill Drive, Haymarket, VA 20169).

I have a daughter who had cancer, and we sanitize the trash bins. When the neighbor's bin was placed in front of our house, the neighbor's bin ended up in my garage.

I am contacting you regarding your truck on 11/04/2022 at 2:10 pm on Valley Country Drive, Chantilly, VA going at least 40 MPH in this neighborhood. I have traveled behind your trucks before observing them at high rates of speed in a residential neighborhood and have observed them pass my house with excessive speed and dart around cars parked on either side of the road. I never complain about stuff like this, but this is dangerous behavior. There are a lot of preschool age children playing throughout the day up and down this neighborhood. Please address this with your drivers. I will call the FCPD if this continues. Thank you.

Look, guys, I have called several times about my yard debris nor being picked up...last week I was told that a driver would be called to pick it up...surprise! my yard debris container has been sitting out at the curb for 3 weeks now...soccer moms are throwing their poop bags in it...you email and say that you had to change pickup dates, still your trucks just roll by, not stopping to pick up the yard debris...I'm about done, if you cannot provide the service that is being paid for, I guess I am cancelling service with you due to lack of said service. Worst company I have ever had the dis pleasure to deal With. Over an eight year relationship I cab’s think one ti e they did their. From not picking up trash on to not picking up equipment when they say they will. To top it off they falsely to my account to collection when I didn’t owe them anything. Definitely worst company customer service. VERY happy I fired them. Will never do business with them again.

Terrible company, employees, service. During and after COVID, their service have gone from OK to terrible. Consistently missed pick ups, customer service is terrible, truck dumped my recycle bin in their truck and took it. Took me 35 days to get a replacement. They wont even bother try to make up for any of their shortcomings. This is a company you stay AWAY from.

They did not pick my trash as scheduled on 04/ 25 . Is not the first time that don’t happen . They missed serval time before. Each time I call they say they will send somebody… we’ll never happen . They collect payment and they don’t deliver the services … this is scam

This company has bribed local officials and maintains a monopoly.

This company REGULARLY misses pickups of our trash.

This company is universally despised in the community.

This company disallows any feedback.

This company REGULARLY sells client information.

This company will start a campaign of harassment via AUTOMATED calls if anyone complains about their so called service.

One payment missed due to a change in my credit card information, corrected promptly has resulted in calls every Friday after 4:30 PM, like clockwork, even though my balance is zero, in six years I was late once. ONCE, and I still have not heard the end of it. When I call them they tell me it is all taken care of but the calls keep coming at the worst time, at a time when I cannot even speak to them. Not that I intend to, instead I am calling my State Representatives and my county office of compliance.

I intend to contact ALL of my neighbors and get this company booted from my neighborhood, finally.

This company missed my trash pick up 2 weeks in a row. The third week they wouldn't pick up my overflow because it wasn't in the can. If you call to let them know, they will continue to tell you what you want to hear, but it is a lie.

They told me the overflow would be picked up on Friday 2.25 or Saturday 2.26 - no show! I called again today. They told me it would be done by the close of business today (Monday) 2.28 - no show.

Since August 1st I have placed phone calls every trash service day which is twice a week. I have 2 trash cans that are American Disposal cans and they only empty one. I witness a worker throw one of my trash cans in my driveway and cracked it down the side. It took 2 and a half weeks to get a replacement. I have called a total of 15 times and Requested a supervisor. each time i am told they dispatched for them to come back out to give them till 7 pm and a supervisor would call me back. They never came back to empty trash can and I still have not heard from a supervisor. I don't understand why it is so difficult to get service that I paid for.
I would like a refund for services I have not received. I should not have to call every single trash day to request service I have already paid for. There is no excuse for the negligence. I want answers.

0 out of 10. I have had services with these guys for a little over a year and I have always been disappointed. They have missed my trash can more times than I can count. Now not only have they missed my can, but they have not been to my entire neighborhood in the last three weeks. THREE WEEKS. How does this happen, how is this acceptable? How can a company miss their appointment three weeks in a row and still charge the customer? On top of that they tell me it's a charge if I want to cancel their "services". I was just on hold for 45 minutes attempting to finally bite the bullet and pay the charge to cancel their services that they never show up for and I was disconnected before I could ask to cancel services. What a joke. Forget this place. Customer service sucks and their actual service is even worse. Plus they are over priced. STAY AWAY.

I live at 15883 beaver dam road in montclair va. The recycle guys took my cardboard but the styrofoam I had for the trash, they threw it to the side and it blew all over my yard and they just left them there! It was their fault that this blew away since they threw it. I am sick of almost every trash day there is trash left in the street where it fell on the road when they emptied the cans and didnt bother to clean it up.

American Disposal has missed the last three trash and recycling pick up days. Every time I call and every time they say they will send someone out to collect. No one ever comes. When I asked for a refund for services not performed, they told me I had the choice of receiving a refund of scheduling someone to come get it.in the end, I received no refund and no service. Their customer service takes 40 minutes to get on the line and is completely useless if they do ever answer.

Repeatly failed to pick up trash and recycling over the course of 8 months. You have to call their office to have them come and pick up trash, and then they will only do it on their weekly schedule. Phone "customer service" reps are downright nasty and rude, when you can finally get them on the line. In several cases the trash was at the end of the driveway for 2 weeks, yet "American" was not interested in making sure service was conducted as contracted. I finally cancelled contract due to lack of service, and they insisted on charging a contract close-out charge - depite that fact that I still have trash that has yet to be picked up. Glad to get rid of them.

Suggest you find an ethical, professional company for your residental trash and recycling - and that would NOT be American Disposal Services.

I paid for service a year a time to save money. When I was selling my house so I gave them notice, when house sold I cancelled service. The unused months of service was to be refunded to me. First they said it takes 3 months to do a refund, when if I was starting up service they would expect immediate payment.

Then after stalling for 3+ months, they still have yet to send me my refund.

Very Poor customer service. I highly recommend going with another company. They will not follow through on their word and they will take your money.

Total dissatisfaction and unacceptable service.
