American Automobile Association [AAA] unethical behavior

I just purchased a new car I had been inquiring about for a while, I had talked to a AAA representative before I made my purchase I did not catch her name but she was very friendly and helpful explained everything fully and gave me my monthly quote, she also said that when I was ready to add the vehicle to my policy I could ask to back date it so that there wouldn't be a huge difference, well I bought the car i had been waiting anxiously to buy and today 5/7/2018 when I called AAA insurance's customer service I spoke to Sara bower and I could say I had a horrible experience that I had never had when calling AAA, I could say she was rude but asked too many questions that did not even make sense with what I wanted to do, she took up more of my time, and when she gave me the yearly rate I asked to give me the monthly on just the new vehicle and she said she couldn't even though i have received it many times before, I mentioned how the other representative that had helped me before mentioned to back date and she said no we can not do that with out even giving an explanation as to why, I have never been treated this way and I hope no one gets treated in such a poorly way like she treated me.

American Automobile Association [AAA] company canceled membership

I have been with AAA for over 12 years. I have my whole family listed with separate cards and it is 5 of us. they said they are not renewing with us because we had 12 service calls, some with towing within a year. If you are paying for a service and you have 5 people listed, then why does it matter. No one wants their car to break down but it happens. They said the guidelines states that you can only have 4 service calls a year. We have 5 people, so that means 1 of can't call. I have went over 6 to probably 10 years paying without using their towing service but when our cars got old and start breaking down on us, now they want to cancel. What are we paying for? Why is there a limit. It is not like they pay the whole towing charge, we still have to pay some of the cost.

American Automobile Association [AAA] hotel

Hello, I stayed at the Economy Inn at Somerset PA right off the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The place is a dump. You need to remove your approval from them asap. There is mold and a musty smell in the bathroom. Someone was peering in the window. We were afraid to see what they served for breakfast. The room and building look like it is falling down. We had a long trip, and this place was recommended in your book. When we left no one was to be found. For safety reasons I thought an employee needs to be on site. I would like to get my money back. We stayed on over 5/4/2018. My nose was all stuffed up due to the mold. Shut this place down refund my money, and remove your approval rating immedately.

American Automobile Association [AAA] selling bad brand new batteries/poor customer service

I am beyond disgusted and frustrated with this company. I want a FULL refund for the over priced battery I bought from AAA for $160 which is ridiculous. This company does not care about their customers. It took me 3 days and 3 different suppose to be NEW batteries to get my car up and running. They left me car less for 3 days because their workers were too sorry to test the supposed to be new batteries before bringing them. It has caused me unnecessary money spent because of the lack of service. I missed 2 days of work, had to get Uber to transport me, my kids were stranded at school and after the second bad battery they brought me I had to rent a car. It took 3 batteries to get it right. When I called customer service I asked for a full refund and the rep refused and told me no. Because it wasn't the battery it was my alternator which I told her that's not her job to diagnose my car. Her job is to satisfy the customer and not debate because the customer is right. The rep was very rude and unprofessional. It took way took many stressful calls arguing and debating with these reps. This is the WORST experience ever with AAA. What is the point having a membership if you getting treated like crap and then they sell you bad batteries. And nobody wants to take accountability for it. I won't recommend this company to NO ONE. I still want a full refund for all the inconvenience, extra money spend and emotional stress dealing with this crap for 3 days. Unacceptable, unbelievable, disgusting and completely PISSED!

American Automobile Association [AAA] service

Yesterday May 2, 2018 I was riding my motorcycle and decided to fill up. When I turned my bike on to go again it wouldn't start and sounded as if my battery was dead. So my phone was at 4% and let the guy know it was about to die. He said he out my location in so if we were to get disconnected someone would still come to my assistance. Now knowing I didn't have motorcycle coverage I knew I had to pay to get towed. That isn't the issue. The issue is I waited 2 hours and no one came. So at this point I have to use 7-11s phone to call AAA a second time and they advise me that my original call was NEVER dispatched... Irritated at this point I give them my information and location again and tell me someone will be at my assistance within the hour. Well an hour and a half goes by and nobody has shown up yet so I call again for now the 3rd time and ask AAA where the guy was! Beyond irritated at this point they tell me he is gonna be 45 minutes getting to me... At this point I should've dropped it and called a local towing company but the guy comes not 45 minutes later but an hour 1 and 10 minutes later and then shows up with a regular flat bed tow truck... Now first I wait over 4 hours to get 3.5 miles back to my house and then I find out it will cost me $145 for the tow once we reach my house... The guy that came could hardly speak English for 1 and 2 had both my front and rear tires not even touching the flat bed and all that was holding it was the straps which weren't that tight. As we went around the last turn before my house my bikes rear wheel went even higher up off the bed making my bike off balance and almost causing my bike to fall! I don't even know what to say about this experience, but I do know I should've had to pay $145 to take me 3.5 miles back to my house and shouldn't have had to wait 4 hours to get a regular flat bed tow truck when I could've called any tow company near me and gotten the same flat bed and saving me a ton of time!

American Automobile Association [AAA] aaa auto repair

My daughter is moving 1500 miles away. She took her car in to AAA repair and they told her she needed $1600 worth of repairs. One was a timing belt she just had replaced 3 months ago. I am so upset that I buy AAA and their own shop continues to provide this service. This is the second time they have ripped off my daughter. I am reporting to the BBB and paid for the second time $50 for BAD information. I feel they should refund us for our daughter. Will you call me? [protected]. THis is regarding your shop at 15439 N 40th st, PHOENIX 85032.

American Automobile Association [AAA] dead battery

Called Auto Club in Southern California a few years ago as my engine wouldn't start. AAA Towing person came and told me my battery needed replacing and tried to sell me one. I saw him hit something near the engine with a hammer but had no idea why. I replaced the battery but car wouldn't start again the next day. Turns out the starter was bad and hitting it with the hammer was a way to get car running temporarily - long enough for tow guy to get me to purchase battery. I got my money back from AAA after writing to the president.

American Automobile Association [AAA] lock out

I was getting out of my car and I realized I locked the door and left my keys on the seat. My Cat was also in the front passenger seat and it was pretty warm out. I immediately called roadside assistance and they asked for a number to pull up my information and said they put it as priority. Initially I said I didn't have a number because my mother changed her number and I'm away at college. They couldn't pull up her information by name or my information by name or even her address . I eventually had to scroll through my phone to find my member ID number (All of my info was in the car). Then she couldn't find my address so that was 10 minutes right there. So they said they were sending out someone and it was priority because of my per. I waited about another 10 minutes and still no one so I called and she asked if I had a passenger. I said no but I have my cat and he's been in the car. (they obviously already had the wrong information from the start ). She said he'd be there in about 10 minutes. Still no one so I called again and this lady was so rude. She said it would be another 20 minutes. So I'm obviously upset because my cat is stuck in the car and they aren't communicating with me about setbacks or anything. Not only that, they arent communicating with each other and she's telling me they had other calls, which I wasn't told. Also, I signed up for text message updates and I hadn't received anything. I began to question her about why was I told something different and she had no answers. I told her the first two ladies knew it was a priority. She asked who I spoke to and I told her it obviously didn't make a difference because they didn't relay the information to her and because supposedly had no idea what I was talking about. Said if I needed to call 911 then go ahead. So again what is the point in paying for this service if I need to contact someone else to do the job ? I eventually asked to speak to someone else and she said "absolutely not" so I asked to speak to a manager and she transferred me. I wind up just hanging up the call because another call came through. I had been on hold for a little bit and I almost called 911 but the other call was the tech. He Got here in about 20 minutes from the second call. He asked for my information and I told him it was in the house and my keys were in my car. He said he'd need it right away after he opened my car. That also kind of bothered me because again my main concern was making sure my cat was OK. He could've addressed that after he opened my car. Altogether they just lack customer service and business etiquette.

American Automobile Association [AAA] aaa does not care about babies

This incident occurred on 4/28/2018. My name is Julie Chenault and I have been a customer of yours for many years with no problems. Upon arriving at the dog park with my husband, dog, and 1 year old I placed my purse (with car keys in it unbeknownst to me at the time) in the trunk and locked it since we were at a park for exercise/play. We spent about 3 hours at the park and it was time to go home and get the baby some food and drink (it was very hot and all the water he had was gone). I realized I didn't have the keys and where they were at 3:37 pm. and promptly called an agent as I thought they would come help me no problem. The agent initially said she could not help me because they would have to "make a key" to get in my car, which makes no sense at all and she said she couldn't help me. I was flabbergasted, so she put me on hold, then she said someone would be there at 4:45 pm. That was fine. It was 4:13 pm., we were standing in the glaring sun, no food, drink, bathroom, my dog was starting to foam at the mouth and my baby was crying for hunger. I called to check up on things to see if maybe the agent got lost. I asked the agent since we were in dire conditions and needed help immediately if maybe I should call the police, she was very rude and condescendingly said that someone would be there at 5 and I could call the cops if I wanted. I was again flabbergasted, what is the point of having a service like this that helps people out in these situations if you don't even perform your duties? So, after waiting about twenty minutes in good faith and out of concern for my child since we obviously were not a priority I called the cops who promptly arrived about 10 minutes later and literally stuck a long white stick in the window and unlocked the door in one second. How is this acceptable? How are your agents busier than police officers? While there is no permanent harm to my child that I can tell, he was getting dehydrated and began to get very lethargic until the police arrived with water due to your negligence as an agency.

American Automobile Association [AAA] battery

Complaint I emailed to them.

If anyone has and address to send to please leave it in comments section.

Yesterday (Thursday November 26) I called AAA. On Wednesday (April 27) I had a problem with my car starting. Got it to start and drove to my mechanic who checked it and thought it was possibly a loose battery cable. Car was running and had no other problems the remainder of the day. Thursday I tried to start my car and it would not start. Called AAA and they came out. I was upset and stressed it was 7:00 am when I called, I needed to get my daughter to school for testing before 8:30 and I needed to get to work. The tech tested my battery and told me it was bad. I asked if that could be since I had put a battery in it a year ago. He said it happens all the time with dealer batteries. Thinking this was it and that I would then be able to not lose a day of work, trusting AAA and who they have working for them, I let him replace my battery. After he replaced my battery he went to start my car and said the starter was going. Got the car running and he left and I dropped my daughter off and called my mechanic. Told my mechanic what had happened. My mechanic told me that my battery was fine they had tested it on Wednesday (April 27 when I brought it in) and there was nothing wrong with it. So essentially I was sold a battery I did not need by your technician. I am a single mom of 4 kids, I work 2 jobs so this unnecessary cost to me makes me very upset. That cost for me is 2 weeks worth of groceries. I trusted your company and the people you send out representing your company. I am angry, disappointed and am not sure what I am going to do at this point. Yes I told him to replace the battery based on what your technician said to me. He obviously lied in order ot make a sale and took advantage of the situation.

American Automobile Association [AAA] aaa roadside service

At 1:41pm I called aaa road side assistance for service. Key left in car. Eta was 1 hr. 1 hr passes I call again, they advised me that it will be another hr. Nothing I could do but wait. I call again for the third time, still waiting. I called now for the 4th time, at this time i'm furious for waiting this long, they advised me once again it will be another 20 min, I have been waiting, and waiting and it is now becoming a 3hr ordeal. This is so unprofessional for aaa. I am a premium card holder and I did not expect to be waiting over 3 hours for such a simple service. We finally recvd a call from the driver that he is stuck in a red light at 4:56pm. Yeah right! I looked at the tracker and it stated that he had arrived, that was not the case. Still waiting! 3hr 10 mins... Total time from initial call to aaa arrival was 3hrs and 20mins... Supervisor jerome c said he just recvd the call and came out immediately.. Not sure what's going on with the service down here in florida, but this has never happened in california.

American Automobile Association [AAA] triple a plus

My daughter, Tracy Richards, Florahome Florida broke down at 1:30 yesterday afternoon 4/25/18 and she didn't get service until 10 that night. That is totally not acceptable. If you cannot service an area you should not say you can. Do you have anybody that services this area? What are you going to do about this.

Just a note we have been members for over 20 years with Triple A plus.

American Automobile Association [AAA] battery issue

I called AAA on 4/11/18 for someone to come out and check my battery because my car would not start. It had a problem starting the day before so I drove it around hoping to get the battery charged back as this happened before. This a AAA battery that was put in June 2016 and then replaced in 2017 because the battery would not hold a charge. The technician from United Towing immediately told me the battery would not charge because I was not driving the car much. I had just retired a week and a half before and was driving the car daily running errands. He said I left the lights on. I did not. He left leaving the car hood up and the car running. The car started fine Thursday and Friday, did not drive it Saturday or Sunday because of bad weather but Monday the battery was totally dead. After the experience on 4/11/18, I asked not to have United Towing come back even though they had been here for years doing good work. Not only was United Towing sent back, but the technician was the same one who began to tell me it was my fault that the battery was dead. I told him to leave, called AAA and told them to send out another company to have the car towed to Nissan. Reliable arrived and show me that the battery had a hole in it, was very polite and towed it to Nissan. Nissan confirmed my thoughts that the battery would not hold a charge so I told them to replace the battery as I was no longer interested in a AAA even though it was still under full warranty. If I had I taken this car to UAB next week and it would not start, I would have been in serious danger because my appointment is scheduled all day, not ending until late. Obviously AAA cares only about revenues. Diane, Huntsville, AL

American Automobile Association [AAA] auto insurance

January 22nd 2018 I was shopping around for auto insurance. Before I knew it I had purchased auto, renters and earthquake insurance. I was told it would be $1749 for the year. I was not only led to believe in their good name but I was slammed in the face with a Bill for $3200+. As I explained to the agent who first helped me. I am a single mom and want to stay under $150... she said it would be around $174 a month which I hesitated, as I am on a fixed income but I said OK. I mean who wants to be with out Insurance. After finding our that I cant afford the insurance, I emailed the once to helpful agent without a response. I also called several times to lower my bill and a supervisor assured me that she would look into the matter and call me back (NEVER HAPPENED). I was stuck and had to cancel, in addition they sent me to collections for an additional $440. "An early termination fee"

American Automobile Association [AAA] towing/car repair shop

On 3/31/18 I requested a tow of my 2002 Passat to my home after a poor experience with a shop. Upon the suggestion of your rep I agreed to have the car towed to Charlie's Auto Repair (305.233.1344). At which time Mario (the owner) advised that he would call me within a couple of days. When I noticed no call back I called back on 4/5/18. Mario advised that he couldn't find anything but would give it one more look & call me back. On 4/10/18 I did not hear back & called again. Mario then advised that he had a guy that would buy it for $300 & would have to give Mario $100. I spoke to my husband & he contacted Mario today. We then decided to have the car brought back to our home. Upon calling your office for the tow I paid $89 to Mario for the inspection & was then advised that the AAA battery that I bought from your office last year was dead & that he already gave it away. He then gave me a 2012 AAA battery as a replacement. This all occurred while the AAA driver was leaving the shop without my signature. I had to wait for Mario to get a guy to get that 2012 battery while the AAA driver left!
Needles to say I'm more that disappointed by this experience. I pay for AAA for my husband, son & daughters policy (one lives in Atlanta). I have faithfully believed that I would never be misled while in your care.
I was charged $89 for service that was not rendered & then my $170 AAA battery was stolen by your recommended repair shop!
This is no way to be treated by such a reputable company & I insist on being made whole. At the very least my battery needs to be replaced.
I have been promised a call back from a AAA supervisor. It's been over 2 hours & no call.

American Automobile Association [AAA] zacharah #504037 customer serv denied tow on r gold card alld 3 tows a year and we have not used even 1 of our 6 tows allowed for the last 2 years!

Do not buy the road service its a rip off! We are gold members for over 20 years and never use my tows and Zacharah employee #504037 from customer service would not allow my tow from Pacifica to Livermore CA which is under the 100 mile limit! We will be canceling our membership and telling everyone we know and BBB to complain. As a Gold member we are allowed 3 tows per card a year but AAA will not let you tow even once! So buyer beware! We are sooo upset! We do not even use the towing service and then we are told no we can not tow our car from where it broke down in Pacifica Ca to Livermore CA where we live because we already got a ride home on Easter from a relative and figured we could have our AAA service tow the truck today Monday after the busy weekend for tow truck drivers and then we were told no by Zachariah! Unacceptable! Sooo my husband is driving over to Pacifica tomorrow to meet the towtruck driver and give him his AAA card and then will drive in commute traffic to Livermore where we live! Crazy and again unacceptable! disgusting! Where did the great AAA reliable service go that we loved for so many years! We are very sad at this recent experience!
