American Automobile Association [AAA] Roadside assistance

I called AAA on a Saturday at 7:pm. I am suppose to have the best coverage they offer which is the Premier RV. I called because I was at a movie theater and my battery was dead when I tried to leave. I just needed a jump start. They first told me they would be to me in two hours. I said no problem, they called back after a hour and said they cant get anyone to come all the trucks are busy. I told them I would wait because I did not have any other way to jump start my vehicle. I explained to them I had not cash, and I was sitting in my car in the cold in the snow. They said sorry we just talked to our companies and none of them have a truck powerful enough to jump start a vehicle, . That is a complete lie and everybody that has any sense knows that. Even the lady on the phone did not believe what she was telling me. Still they told me they could not help me and I was on my own. I had no money, no people I can call and I was left to leave my car and walk 10 miles home in the snow and in cold. AAA use to be a company you can trust but I am here to tell you that you cannot trust them in Anchorage Alaska to help you at all. AAA should be ashamed of themselves for what they did to me. I paid AAA to help me in a emergency, but they decided I was not worth helping and completely lied to me its customer and I could have died walking home in the snow for 10 miles at night.

American Automobile Association [AAA] towing service

Today I placed a call for towing service with AAA Plus since I was a passenger in my sons vehicle and the car broke down. I was told by the AAA Agent that it would be Lou's Towing that would come and get us. I subsequently get a call from Lou's and was told by their representative that due to it being rush-hour that my wait time would be one hour. I said that was fine, I understood and waited from 5:50 p.m. to 7:20 p.m.

I called Lou's Towing to get an ETA and was told that AAA called him back and cancelled my tow! I asked him why and he said he didn't know, that I need to call AAA back to find out. When I called, the Agent told me he kcouldn't give me any information about the status of my tow but that dispatch was still working on finding me a tow truck. I told the Agent that the representative from Lou's Towing informed me that AAA called them and cancelled my tow and I wanted to know why that happened. The Agent said he didn't know anything about that and tried to let me go off the phone. I escalated the call and requested his supervisor!

Then I get a call from AAA dispatch from a woman with a heavy Carribean accent who told me that nobody wants to take my call for towing service. I told her how can that be when Tampa is a major city and my location was central. She tells me that all the towing shops are closed when it's a Thursday at 7:20 p.m. I call her out on these and also tell her that the representative from Lou's said that my tow call with them was cancelled. She says that was a lie and proceeds to tell me that my only option is for me to call a tow company and pay for it, then submit the bill to them for reimbursement.

I refused to do that and told her that why should I have to go out of pocket when I've been a customer since 2010, and I got their service for this same exact reason, that I would be protected if anything happened to my vehicle or any vehicle I was a passenger in.

1. She was insisting that I find my own tow
2. Wait in my location all night long while she kept trying to find me a tow
3. Leave the vehicle at the location until the morning and call AAA again

She was trying to get me off the phone all the while I kept asking to speak with her supervisor! Then low and behold, I get a call from Lou's Towing that AAA submitted a call for service for me again. Nevertheless, I am disappointed and disgusted with AAA and their brazen attempts to not follow through with their end of the service I paid for!

1. What guarantee would I have that if I went out of pocket and submitted a bill, that I would be reimbursed?
2. If according to her, there were no tows available, or they were all closed or they just didn't want to accept a tow for me, how was I supposed to be successful in obtaining my own?
3. Knowing that she was lying to me and when the vehicle broke down it was broad daylight to now being pitch dark outside, why would I subject myself to being at this woman's mercy and let her keep trying all through the night to find me a tow?
4. Had I left the vehicle at the location it broke down in, it would have been impounded!

Yes, my persistence paid off but why was I subjected to so much aggravation? I want to know why this occurred to me because after 7 years of loyal patronage I deserve answers.

American Automobile Association [AAA] towing/roadside assistance.

I just called this morning because my truck slid down my driveway almost into my garage. I had two triple A service member's come out initially. They were very professional and courteous but did not have the wrecker to be able to pull my truck out. Not once did they mention that my driveway conditions were too bad for them to be able to take care of the situation nor did they stay that there was going to be any additional charge. Another driver was sent out with the Wrecker and all of a sudden stated that it was going to be a $50 charge because of a small patch of snow that was at the beginning of my driveway. I did not agree to those terms so I sent the driver on his way and call dispatch again. Once explaining the situation to dispatch they asked if I would send a picture of my driveway so I obliged. A dispatcher then it began to tell me that the small patch of snow at the beginning of my driveway is why the second driver required a $50 payment. I stated that that patch of snow was just snow and it was not ice. Keep in mind the first two gentlemen did not state that snow was going to be an issue at all and actually said if they would have had a wrecker that they would have had the job done and completed within 10 minutes. The dispatcher from Triple-A East Center in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania name Margie proceeded to aggressively argue with me and discredit the fact that me being able to see the situation and the other two drivers also seeing the situation and not stating that it was going to be a problem was not as accurate as the picture that I had just sent her through email. Basically she said there's ice because I seen the picture and no matter what you say it doesn't matter. I asked to speak to a supervisor and spoke to a Raul. Who essentially backed her story and said that my driveway wasn't treated enough and it was going to be a $50 charge. Mind you this Margie dispatcher had basically been so unprofessional saying that I didn't want to hear what she was saying and that I was wasting my calls then pass the phone off. To me, her customer service skills were very very very awful. Now this isn't the first time I've had some shady dealings with triple A. About a month ago my wife needed her battery jumped. The first gentleman came out jump the battery no problem and about his way. Later on that day my wife's battery died again. This second driver comes out looks at the battery and tells my wife she's missing apart and she needs a whole new battery and tries to sell her a battery. What I don't understand is why didn't the first person tell her that she had an issue with a missing part on her battery? I am extremely disappointed in the service that I received in 2017 and I've been a AAA member on and off for about 10 years the last three years for sure. These situations, my current on in particular, have me wanting to reconsider my future membership. It seems that the shady drivers, lack of transparency, and terrible customer service is driving the comapnies integrity into the gutter.

American Automobile Association [AAA] roadside service

My car broke down, called for roadside assistance. Was told since my car was out in the road, 30 degrees and snowing outside we would be put on a priority call. Waited almost 90 mins called again was told this time driver just dropped off his last row and was on his way to me, should be no longer than 30 minutes. Waited another 45 minutes, in a freezing car with my children and was told the driver was rerouted and they weren't sure when someone was coming. I would again be put on priorty. He it is nearly 3 hours later, still no truck, not sure when someone is going to be here. My children a froze, hungry, and will probably be sick tomorrow. I have never experienced this type of incompetence in a supposed top notch business. I will not ever renew my membership.

American Automobile Association [AAA] aaa car care plus

Hello my name is lionel webster, I can be reached at [protected]. My membership # is 429 014 [protected] 8

I've just taken part in a horrible experience with repair complaints on my 1986 gmc c1500 at aaa auto repair facility located in roswell,  ga at 1035 mansell rd,  suite 100.  today 2/7/17 i had my vehicle towed back to the aaa facility on mansell because this morning it would not start for me and i had just picked it up from aaa mansell on saturday 2/4/17  for the 3rd time since my initial visit there on 1/10/17. i called the facility this morning after my ride failed to inform them of the issue (Missing alternator belt and belt misplacement) and let them know it was gonna be towed there.  so once i get there i speak with my service representative george that i've been dealing with and explain the problem and ask that he and the manager james bretti to grab the tech and come out to take a look under the hood. we do and then i remove myself as they continue on.  after they complete their talk james comes to me in the waiting area and goes on to tell me that my truck didn't leave his facility in this condition because there was no way possible that i the customer could have been driving my vehicle under these conditions. he says to me that somewhere in between me picking up my truck and bringing it back today that someone has done belt work on my truck or maybe someone is playing with me and my vehicle without my knowledge.  all while asking me whats going on here as to imply that im not telling him something,  james goes on to tell me how much he weighs and that it would be impossible for him to drive and operate this vehicle due to the placement of the belts and its ability to properly steer... So i'm lying about driving my truck! i drove my truck home and parked it the day i picked it up on saturday and drove it twice after that for a total of miles before its recent breakdown. now i say recent because my truck was first towed to this facility at 1035 mansell rd,  suite 100 in roswell ga on 1/10/17 for charging system inspection and a constant battery drain. I picked it up on 1/11/17,  paid $89.95 that visit.  the truck failed again and it was returned to the aaa mansell 3 days later for a 2nd visit on 1/14/17 after only driving 89 mile with the same symptoms. They then had my truck for 7 days from 1/141/20/17 for diagnosis and repairs,  i paid $963.94 for multiple repairs that visit and was told with confidence that my truck was repaired properly. so that proved to be untrue as the truck failed again after driving only 117 miles over the course of 10 days before being returned to aaa mansell for the 3rd time on 1/30/17. aaa mansell then had the truck for repair an additional 5 days,  completed work on 2/3/17 and i picked up on 2/4/17. paid $256.69 this visit for alternator replacement and now its down again on 2/7/17 so yes i should be very well within my rights to be unsatisfied as a customer who has spent $1310.68 on repairs that haven't corrected the problem! after back n forth convo about not wanting to repair my vehicle and james bretti continually implying that i hadn't been driving my truck,  the negotiations went south and then james decides that the police needed to be called claiming that i was unruly and had me removed from the premises.  false,  what i was insulted,  embarrassed and in disbelief of my treatment as a paying customer.  all i was there for was to have my truck repaired the correct way and if there was something different going on than previously repaired we could deal with that just like the other things i had paid for. this is unacceptable behavior by manager james bretti,  he has a bad attitude and i'd say poor customer service skills. now i would like action to be taken to prevent anyone else being treated in this manner!

American Automobile Association [AAA] auto repair

This is a copy of the Email I sent to a AAA provider.
I brought my recently purchased 2002 Honda CRV to your shop for maintenance and estimate for any repairs needed. You checked my vehicle and told me I needed front struts, crankshaft seal and Serpentine belt replaced. You found these items because you also checked belts, hoses and performed lube, which I was told include a check on filters, fluids etc. I initially brought back my air filter which had debris attached? You assured me that the air filter was in fact checked during the routine maintenance check, despite the debris, the filter was not in need of replacement. This morning I was checking my fluids and much to my surprise, the cap for the radiator refill reservoir was missing? In its place was a cap from a plastic bottle, too big for the opening, so it appears tinfoil was used to fill in the extra space? My question is this, how did your technician check fluids and not find the over sized cap and abundance of tinfoil? The refill opening, as you are aware is on TOP of the radiator? It did not require any searching to find, the tinfoil was easy to spot. You are supposed to be AAA approved? I believe in giving benefit of the doubt, I cannot find any reasonable excuse for the cap .In a two week period I spent $2300 at your garage. Unless you can give me a plausible reason, I will have no choice but to contact AAA.

American Automobile Association [AAA] customer service when I made a service call

I made a phone at 7pm for towing. They gave me two hour window. It was 820 I called back to see who my towing was assigned. The agent who answered lilia told me she cannot give me any information and said just wait until you hear from anyone. I asked her can I get at least get company name or phone number rudely answered no mam. You have to call us again if you dont hear from them. I was so disappointed for aaa service. Now its 835pm we still in cold sitting and waiting for a call. I have called previously and agent did give us info who and when service will be there. How rude of lilia just to say wait for 2 hours then call back to aaa again. Ridiculous service just refund our membership.

American Automobile Association [AAA] service time

When I called they said it'd be a 45 minute wait. Now as a woman alone, that's bad enough, but I can understand that. Then, 50 minutes later, a independent contractor they were using said that they don't service my area.

What? I had t call aaa back and tell them that I was still waiting & that aaa sent my need to a provider that doesn't even service my area. Aaa should have none that & not wasted my time. Aaa doesn't waste time when they take my money, but it's ok to take over 2 hours on what should have been a 45 minute experience.

I've been with the 6 years and it's time to renew my membership, but she refuse. I'll post their incompetence on facebook, twitter and tell anyone who will listen to never use aaa. They clearly don't value my safety or time.

American Automobile Association [AAA] auto transfer of my account

I had a policy for years in pennsylvania. I moved to virginia. I went to renew my annual account, they told me that I had to call va aaa and reapply, they said it was a different part of the country. I don't understand aaa is nation wide. You should know who I am anywhere in the country. My account in pa should just transfer to va. I'm told I have to call and reapply all over again. So all them years of status with you is lost. I am very disappointed with aaa. I will not be signing up anymore for the disrespect that you show your customer

American Automobile Association [AAA] roadside assistance

I am beyond disappointed with the service I received from aaa, today my car broke down rather then calling my insurance company to tow me, I thought I called the better option by calling AAA, well I was wrong, the first agent told me a hour and 15 mins, I called at 9 so when 10:15 came along I called back the next rep stated 11:09 . I advised the rep I have two small children and it's very cold and all the stores around me are closed. 11:09 past, I called back the next rep stated he will be coming from green cove springs which is a good distance from Jacksonville fl and he'll be here in another 45 minutes, I asked to speak to a manager who name is max and he was no help at all, so what is the point of continuing my membership with a company who doesn't give a damn about the safety of there members. I need the same urgency you provide to me constantly sending me emails about renewing my policy as it comes to getting a tow truck out here to help. Now it's 11:40 and no tow truck in sight.. 11:48 it's getting colder and my two sons are tired and cold

American Automobile Association [AAA] aaa towing was unresponsive

On 01/02/17 my daughter and her friend were driving home to california from las vegas, nv. She was having car trouble and pulled onto the shoulder of the freeway at 3:20 pm and called aaa. They said they would be there within an hour. She put her safety hazards on and got back in the car to wait. 2 1/2 hours later they called her to say they couldn't locate her and could not provide service. They said to call the highway patrol. Now her car battery is weak and her cell phone is dying. Aaa showed up after several calls to them from me, a worried mother over 4 1/2 hours away from her daughter. At 6:44 pm aaa showed up and said all they could do was tow her to the nearest gas station. They towed her one mile and dropped her off at a closed gas station at 6:59 pm and left, telling her no one could help until the next day. With several more calls and a lot of conversation later, I managed to get aaa to her at 9:01 that night. She arrived home at 2:44 am the next morning.
As far as i'm concerned, this was an epic failure on the part of aaa and I am disgusted by the service (Lack of service) they provided.

American Automobile Association [AAA] aaa

On november 19, 2016 I was driving home from the philadelphia airport on rt. 476 near west conchehocken when I had a blow out on my right front tire. I called aaa, which I have been a member of for more than 10 years. They told me that someone would be there in an hour or less. 45 minutes later I got a call from the man who was to come and change my tire only to find out that he doesn't change tires and that he was the only person on duty at 1:00am. He did call dispatch back and told them the situation. Dispatch was not sure they could find anyone to come and help. Another hour past before aaa called back and said someone from another area was on his way. Unfortunately, I struggled to change it myself. I did have the second person check my tire change to make sure I did it right.

American Automobile Association [AAA] roadside towing

My issue happened on December 19, 2016 between 8:30pm-9:00 pm. We requested to be towed from our residence to a garage because the truck seemed like it was having loss of power or low on fluid. When the driver arrived he was irate and irritable. He was told from my husband owner of the vehicle not to drive the truck, the driver of the towing company refused to listen to my husband and hopped in our truck and put it in reverse which the truck wasn't making any noise than he proceded to put our truck in drive and hit the gas aggresively which than caused our truck to make a loud grinding sound. The towing driver hopped out of our truck and was going drag our truck on the flat bed which my husband said not to do that, and my husband offered to help him to make sure that our truck wouldn't get damaged anymore than the driver did already. The driver insisted my husband needed to sign a damage waiver releasing the driver of liability or he was not towing us anymore. We refused to sign the waiver because he did damage our truck and than the driver unhooked our truck and left it in the middle of the street on a hill, which we had to call our police department and file a report because our truck was blocking traffic, once the police department came there was fluid leaking from the front and rear of my truck and that there wasn't any fluid in our parking spot where we had the truck parked. We had to call people to come and help push the truck back into the parking spot. No one has resolved this issue and we had to get a rental and pay for that, no one has came to look at our truck like we were told they would no one has called us back, Now we have the rental truck until wednesday and that has already cost us over 800 dollars because that was the only vehicle big enough for our family considering there are 7 of us.Since we only have it until wednesday, I have no payment for anymore time for renting the vehicle or getting my kids to there dr apointments or other activites and my one daughter is disabled .Especially since I was told not to move my truck by the represenatve from your claims department while they investigate it, and advised us to rent a vehicle, not counting a man called us claiming to be from triple aaa claims department trying to intimate me into dropping this claim and that the driver did not do anything wrong. And the lady that called me from claims said there was no record of anyone that called and that she is the only one working on our claim. At this point I am very confused and concerned about exactly what is being done if anything. We would like this resolved asap or I will have no choice but to make sure this is addressed properly, considering I have video and photos of the incident on our phones and survallance system from our house and our neighbors as well. Please contact me asap Shawn [protected] Thank you I am available anytime to speak.

American Automobile Association [AAA] roadside assistance personnel

December 7th 2016 my car overheated at 2567 yard like Hamilton square road, Hamilton New Jersey - the man who came to tow my car turned my overheated car on to back it up onto his tow truck. This should not have been done because he left my car running and locked my keys in the car while smoke was coming out of my engine! I was so angry and let him know he was making my car worse ! This incident happened somewhere between 7pm and 8pm. I had to pay nearly 800$ to repair my car and I'm sure his actions made it worse. I would like to be compensated for his carelessness. He obviously did not know what he was doing and should not be working for AAA. My name is Jean Zissler my member number is 438 212 [protected] 4. Thank you

American Automobile Association [AAA] aaa towing service

I was a member of aaa over 10 years. Never used their service until today when i needed it. I called aaa to get a tow and they denied my request to tow it to my house rather than a garage. I am the type of guy that fixes my own vehicles because i know how people always get ripped off when they bring their car to a dealership or private mechanic. I fought with the representative on the phone until they got manager approval to do this as a one time accommodation, but a note on my account would be made to say that i was notified that further tows would never be made unless it was sent to a garage. This was after being put on hold multiple times over a 20 minute period.

After getting off the phone, it dawned on me that they now have aaa car care centers popping up everywhere. There is one about a mile away from my house. I am sure that is where they wanted to bring it. What better way to take advantage of peoples unfortunate circumstances? Aaa should be shut down and fined for such shenanigans. I am asking for a refund of my membership fees and i will no longer be a customer of theirs.

AAA is a giant disappointment.

I've learned my lesson...You incessant sales calls to get my auto club membership will no longer be accepted.
I certainly plan to cancel my home owner policy after this gigantic screw up on the part of road side assistance.

Called at 8 am to get my car towed but asked for a 3 pm pick up. AAA said they can't take an appointment.
I then called at 4pm and it is now 9:44 pm, as I sit in an empty, unheated warehouse.

Most horrible experience in my life!

American Automobile Association [AAA] terrible road service phone operator on december 11, 2016 at 12:00 am

I had flash tire on my 2016 Toyota tundra on December 11, 2016 at 12:00am (midnight), and I have two little kids and my wife on the truck. It was on Monterey Rd and cross street is Ford st (in san jose). I called 1800 number on the membership plus card to ask for help to change the spare tire for me. The phone operators gave me hard time and don't want to help us. I called them two times, but they still do horrible thing to me: put me on hold and ask me to call 911.

American Automobile Association [AAA] emergency road service not provided

My transmission went out on highway 55 at 8:00 p. M. Near tullahoma, tn. My aaa membership code is 429 014 [protected] 0 (A gold card, "plus" membership). My vehicle is very high mileage, so I wanted it towed to the scrap yard (2.2 miles away). When I called for roadside assistance, I was told I could only have the car towed to a mechanic (I have no intentions of getting it repaired) or my home (30+ miles away). I had to call a family member to come pick me up. What is the purpose for paying for emergency roadside service when none is provided?

American Automobile Association [AAA] auto insurance aaa drive app discount

I purchased home and auto insurance about 2 months ago. My auto insurance premium was partially based on a discount for having the AAA Drive app downloaded on my cell phone so my driving habits could be tracked and monitored by AAA. I only had to have 2 driving trips of over 10 miles tracked and recorded within the first month. I had the two trips tracked and recorded within the first week, and I could view the trips and scores myself. But AAA kept telling me they couldn't access my account and see my trip scores so my discount was in jeopardy. I called AAA Customer Service numerous times and was told there was a technical problem on AAA's end and that it would be resolved shortly. For about the first month, I had to uninstall and reinstall the AAA Drive app about 20 times as the app would only be good for about an hour before it would timeout or discontinue. About a month ago, AAA changed their AAA Mobile app and since then I can't access the AAA Drive app at all. I keep getting a message stating my AAA Drive is already registered under my personal e-mail. Everytime I contact a customer service rep. I am told there is a service incident ticket in progress and I will be notified when the problem is resolved. About 2 weeks ago, I received a supplemental bill in the mail from AAA for my auto insurance, that according to AAA is because I didn't fulfill the AAA Drive trip tracking and journey scores. I keep complaining to AAA that I should not be penalized for a technical problem on AAA's end. I believe the problem could be resolved quickly if I'm allowed to talk directly to a AAA IT Support person but AAA said they don't allow direct communication between a customer and IT Support. I am very frustrated about the situation and am considering cancelling both my home and auto insurance policies with AAA.

Same here. Ditto experience. AAADrive app is very poorly made app. I have a policy with two designated drivers. My wife's phone had the same problems as you have described, but mine is a different problem - the app on mine stops abruptly and I have to 'restart' it several times a day!

I am lucky that my AAA agent has worked with me and taken care of the supplemental invoice I received. He also arranged for someone to contact me on this technical issue. Our problems are not solved yet but will see what happens. Cheers!
