Alliant Energy an alliant energy driver

I was on the highway during a snow storm and was going about 45 in a 55. The ground was sheer ice and snow was blowing over from the ditch to a point where you could hardly see the road. One of your drivers was passing cars nonstop and driving erratically, weaving between cars and driving over the speed limit. This represents your company negatively.

Alliant Energy want to pay my bill but keep being denied and run in circles

I tried a year ago to pay my bill, over and over with a prepaid debit card because I don't trust companies any more as they like to over charge when they do auto pays and empty you account...

So I spent a month talking with some lady and she could not get my payments to go through, so I went and got energy services to pay my bill, it went fine and was paid ahead 2-3 months, I have continued to try to log in an account I don't have, I habe tried setting up an account, I don't have a phone, (use messenger services sense I spend half the year out of the country) so I can't call and crazy that I can order pizza hut with an email but can't pay my gas bill online, crazy I can order cloths from China online, but can't pay my gas bill, so I informed them I am not driving to Iowa to pay my bill sense I only use cash or prepaid debit cards, but now I sit with no heat, [censored] me off on the day the temperature dropped, my wife is legally blind, I have two disabled children and was told that Alliant energy is very helpful with disabilities but they lie out right, lie after lie, first they lied and said they called me to notify I was getting shut off (I have not had a phone number sense 2009, yes I am a little more advanced and use other ways to talk to people like Skype, what app, so many and don't have a need to pay a phoebe bill to only contact Alliant energy because all my bills I can contact from email to so many ways, plus all my bills except Alliant energy can pay online..

So sad they are a monopoly because I want options and it would not take much to maje customers happy, like maybe accept payments and not lie to your customers... I owe less to them than most people spend in a week on food, sad they shut off our heat and they know about the disabled children because I was struggling in 2009 when my youngest son went through 9 surgery and they tried shutting off gas and my sons nurses called and yelled at them and there excuses are always its computer that does it not us, so I guess the company is run by AI and yes its scary to put compu in charge of running your company because one day it's going to take a bad turn and we will wish we could go back to when corporations actually cared about there customers instead of there stock profile...

Well guess I have to go contact energy service to pay my bill, hopefully I can just give them the cash because Alliant energy obviously don't want you to pay, it increases there profits and disconnect fees are even better for there stock holders to see the revenue they are creating..

So sad America has headed this way, very sad for all of us...

Alliant Energy my electric bill

I have Alliant Energy for electric and gas service. My bill has been crazy the last few months. I have done nothing different and have no other energy sources being pulled from my house than any other day. Our bills starting in July: $997.09, August: $796.73, September $760.68 (in 3 months I have $2554.50 in charge - more each month than my mortgage). No one is any help and there is no other option at this time for power. I don't know how a company can get away with this!

I sent up a payment plan with alliant for my past due bill. I sent a check to alliant on august 26 thru the mail. Get my mail on sat sept 8th with a disconnect notice for none payment. Call alliant and talk to a women about and she said on monday to call and pay 681 and i can start a new payment plan. I explained to the women that all i had in the bank is what the check was 340 dollars. She said they stillnl need 681 and i was going to try and borrow from a family member. She said she was going to cancel my disconnect for monday but i needed to make sure i call on monday with the 681 dollars. Monday called and made my 681. Todat i got a call from my bank that alliant tried to take 1400 and 700 out of my account and they rejected both because i did not have that much in my account. Im very upset because first i get told because my check was lost somewhere i had to 681 plus the 25 to cancel the check and now you have tried to take over 2000 out of my account.

Alliant Energy electrical service readings

According to you, my electricity usage went up by 240kwh from my previous statement to this month's. I do not see how that is possible as there were many more days this last period that our AC was turned off and windows were opened. We also had cooler temps and I reprogrammed my Thermostat to run 3 degrees warmer through the month. Is there a way to verify accuracy of our Electricity usage or see what appliances are using the supposed increase? In the past I could watch the meter's dial and get an idea of usage in real time. I don't see a way to do that now with this "Smart" meter. I am sick of my bill being $100 more than it has been in previous years. Can I see some proof of the meter testing you had performed on these "Smart" meters? My address is 309 Lewellen Dr NW Cedar Rapids, IA 52405

Alliant Energy electric

In the past, our highest bills were in the summer and would be $275-$290. The last 2 bills be got were $470 and $365. This is absolutely ridiculous. My previous house was twice the size, 3800 square ft, and never had a bill over $190. My service was with a local rural electric cooperative and the house was 100% electric. Now I move to town to a house that is 1700 square feet and have bills 250% higher! Doesn't make sense to me. Alliants prices are absolutely ridiculous!

Alliant Energy disconnected

Payment arrangements where made with Alliant Energy of Sat 08/25/2018 my wife used her debit card and paid 326.95 as part of the payment aggreement. Was laying in bed and all of sudden aircondition and ceiling fans went out. I heard noise outside my house and went to go check 08/28/2018 and an Alliant worker had cut off our power. I asked what are you doing we made arrangements on Sat the Bill is paid he responded, you have to contact Alliant we did both my wife and I. Although we had paid the Bill they said they didn't know that, we then gave confirmation number and they posted the payment and said power will be restored the same day. Mind you that was at 11:00 am this morning it is now 1:33 am in the morning still no power leaving myself, my wife and 5 year old daughter and pet in the dark the whole day with no power to keep cool or enjoy our day. Thanks Alliant for poor customer service and relation.

Alliant Energy billing

We had filed the complaint because of our electric bill being extremely hired the normal by almost $200 we got a response back from alliant and they just said that we owe that that there meters are correct even though they never actually checked the meters they just ran an estimate of what we should all we have tried to call per their website information and press release to get help with spreading the bill out and avoid any late charges and disconnections and they are refusing to do so. Alliant has been Completely unhelpful and unreasonable to try to help and fix the problems. I do not feel that it is good practice to bill me on an estimate versus actual usage you can't charge me for something I have not used we need help try to get this issue fixed and/or resolved before we get disconnected.

Alliant Energy electrical service and customer service

My husband called and made a payment arrangement on the 4th of August for our past due amount owed. We agreed to pay $200 that day, $300 on August 10th, and the remainder would be paid on August 17th. We made both the $200 payment and the $300 payment as we were supposed to. We come home from work on August 16th to no power. We didn't even have a chance to make our final payment because we were shut off a day before it was even due according to our arrangement. When we call we're told there is nothing that can be done. When called back a second time we're told we can pay the reconnection fee of $30 and a fee of $21 for another payment arrangement. For 1 we shouldn't be charged for a reconnection because we held up our end of the agreement thus far and should have never been shut off to begin with. And we already had a payment arrangement in place when we were shut off and weren't even given the chance to pay the last payment ON TIME. So that's a total of $51 extra dollars we're being charged for absolutely nothing. I have kids and that is food on the table for my kids that this business is taking away from them. This isn't how business is supposed to be done. If this isn't handled carefully I will make more complaints to whom ever I need to. If this is done to enough families that's adds up to be a lot of money that is being stolen from families.. Most of which in need. It's disgraceful.

Alliant Energy energy bill

I recieved a disconnect notice in the mail today and called customer service. I had recently checked my alliant bill and had seen that my previous payment arrangement was due on Aug 18th and that I had not missed the payment. I was confused why I was being disconnected. I had worked with our local energy assistance and made 50 percent down payment and made the 6 month arrangement on july 3rd 2018. I was told the had been a 53 dollar balance from the 50 percent due and that I had failed to pay that. The local HACAAP office made all the arrangements with alliant and u was told that 53 dollars would be added to the 6 month arrangement. That was not the case. I did not receive any notifications that amount was due and required to keep the payment arrangement. If I had known I would have paid it. But I was not aware that amount was due since I was told that it would be added to the payment arrangement. I am now being disconnected and I am on disability and require a cpap machine to sleep. Please help me resolve this matter

Alliant Energy installation of underground electrical utility lines on private property without an easement or proper protocol.

Alliant Energy has flagged for construction/relocation of electric utility across my front yard and along the front yards of multiple private properties on the east side of South Duff Avenue in Ames Iowa between 3412 South Duff Avenue and 110 Ken Maril Road - 16 properties.
Currently overhead electrical lines exist along the west side of South Duff Avenue and it is my understanding that these lines will be relocated to the east side of South Duff.
The proposed relocation is more costly than locating along the west side of South Duff Avenue. This is due to the fact the run is longer, method on installation is directional boring instead of open excavation, and the utility will cross South Duff at the north end and south end and cross again to reestablish service to each the consumers on the west side of South Duff. In addition, the long term maintenance is increased because there is more infrastructure to manage and maintain, and access to the infrastructure is through private property owners well established plantings. Does this additional, unnecessary cost get paid for by the utility consumers?

Are utility easements required by the Code of Iowa?
Is notification of the land owners required? If so, how and when was such notification provided? What recourse is available?
When should the office of consumer advocate, appointed by the attorney general, be notified/advised?

I have ground source horizontal wells for my heat pump system (residential heat/cooling) that are in the vicinity of the proposed Alliant Energy flags. How do I notify Alliant Energy to avoid any potential damage caused by the construction?

Alliant Energy customer service call

7/27/18
[protected]
Our household has had some financial difficulty. My husband was self employed and was hurt pretty back at the beginning of the year. We fell behind on bills
We have had two payment plans - the most recent was due on 7/17. I misread the letter and paid the amount on 7/27.. I called into customer service to see what my options were as i got a shut off notice for 8/6.
The first person i spoke to was very friendly and said a supervisor would call me back but prob. not until monday. I was at my fathers chemo apt. and i missed the call (it was aprox. 1 hr later a supervisor called back). Im not upset about that. However when i called back, the women who took the call decided she needed to be rude and disrespectful because i missed the call. . I asked several times if i could please just schedule another phone call with a supervisor. She continued to talk over me and pretty much told me that it was to bad, nothing they could do for me and my disconnect on 8/6 stood.
My complaint is the 2nd customer service representative. Obv. she was not aware that i was at a chemotherapy apt. However as a person who works in customer service, trying to shame people or make them feel bad when difficulties arise is a poor reflection on a company. It should not matter the reasoning behind things and i should not have to explain why i missed the call. respect to another person when that person is showing respect is what the professional thing would have been. WE all have bad days and we are all human. But people do have real problems and dealing with people like that only make things worse.

Im sure the supervisor will call me back and i can also share the complaint with them

Alliant Energy electrical supply

Outages are starting to become common again not as bad as 2010 but its getting there . With the amount of growth of Solon, Iowa you would think alliant would build 1 or 2 more substations so that the single substation for the town and surrounding area is not worked to capacity so much and harvest time is not even here yet. Alliant has a way of not repairing /updating their infrastructure until it breaks how about they take some of the money from rate increases and give customers some dependability in their electrical supply

Alliant Energy new service

I have a household at this time on Leroy St in Muscatine IA that I am purchasing from my father. It has been my child hood home and I have also stayed here periodically through out the years during rough times so I've kept it as a mailing address. The past two years I have been actually living with my girlfriend but I didn't use her mailing address. My mother just moved out of this house one month ago and agreed to leave the gas on for the month until we get moved in. A few days ago I realized that the gas is shut off so I called my mother and she said that she figured they would because of her past due bill. I have no problem with that because it's her problem and responsibility. I called today to get it turned back on in my name and they told me that I have to either pay her bill or prove that she no longer lives here. How can they make me prove someone doesn't live here before turning gas back on in my name? It shouldn't matter if I'm related to the previous tenant or not...it's not my responsibility to take over anyone's overdue bill just to get hot water for me and my family that are living here now. The other big problem is they first told me that a phone call from her would be sufficient proof but then when my girlfriend found out what is going on she called and they told her that they need documentation of her living somewhere else. My mom is over 70 years old and just moved in one month ago with my sister. She left her mailing address at my address so how do I give documented proof of her living there instead of here? This is complete insanity! I don't understand why this would even happen. A complete conspiracy that my mother still lives at this address? Bill her for her dues and put new service in my name so I can have hot water again!

Alliant Energy residential electricity

I just have to say that I have done customer service for years and I've had dealings with many customer service representatives. Alliant's customer service department has the rudest representatives I've ever had the misery of dealing with. There needs to be some serious retraining of your representatives. So many of them seem so flip at the mouth and sarcastic. They could care less about helping the customer at all.

Alliant Energy customer service

I understand not all people have to deal with customers on a daily basis but when people do the should with some kindness. As I sit here in a power outage the tech outside has been rude to me and others. Shouting at cars about go around and making them seem unintelligent and when I said something about a line I had seen down I was replied to with sarcasm about well you think it has to do with the tree over the lines. Then the speaker turned up loud at 1 am while people try to sleep for work the next day. None of this makes for good customer service and I'm greatly disappointed the way people have been treated tonight

Re: Account number [protected]

I received a rude phone call from a credit reporting agency today. They informed me that I had a "bill oustanding" I later learned that the bill was the result of a tenant in a building I own, who left the unit without paying their bill. The bill was tranferred to my "landlord" account without my knowing. The address and phone number on that account was established in early 2007, and both are no longer valid.in essence, your company did not present the bill to me and therefore I had no way of knowing it existed. Yet, I was informed by one of your rude staff members that there would be negative information placed on my credit report. Worse yet, I was transferred to a number to perform "Easy Pay"? and the automated system required that I verify the zip code on the account. I attempted this repeatedly, and am still unable to pay the bill I knew nothing about until today. This needs to be fixed on your end, and the credit agencies need to be notified. Please call me at [protected] with a resolution - thanks, Jeff Binkert

Alliant Energy customer service

I received a call from a Technician about service being disconnected at one of our sites in Sheboygan WI. I called the number given and waited about 15 minutes for help. When I spoke to the rep, she explained that our bill was overdue. I checked our records and the banks and found out the payment had been made, and cleared our bank over 10 prior to this date. I explained this to the rep, she said she couldn't help, "contact your bank and see where it went" It had CLEARED our bank. My bank does not keep records for you. You applied it incorrectly figure it out. I told her I had a copy of the canceled check, her responce, "I don't know what I would do with that" I asked to speak to a supervisor, " there is not one available, I will have them call you." As my service is being disconnected, that is not a plausible answer. I had no other option but to double pay a bill to keep service.
