Alliance For Affordable Services Deceptive, Hard To Reach, Hard To Cancel

Beware of this company. You have to join Alliance For Affordable Services itself, before you can "save money" on any of the services they promote. They appear to provide no services themselves - they just refer you to 3rd parties where you buy the service. I bought health insurance which was terrible and I cancelled quickly (be very, very cautious about buying any 3rd part service). However, Alliance For Affordable Services continued to bill me monthly, even after I had cancelled the health insurance. On my monthly bank statement they provide virtually no information on who they are - credible companies will at least provide a phone number to call for information or cancellation - not the Alliance For Affordable Services - even my bank was not easily able to provide information on who they are, and how to contact them. Finally through Internet research I was able to locate the company and cancel my membership. This is a company that appears to hope people forget they are members, hoping they can continue to collect their monthly fee, while doing little to help you find out who they are when you want to cancel. All in all doing business with this company was a giant waste of money. Be very, very cautious about doing business with them.

Alliance For Affordable Services Bait and Switch

Classic Bait and switch. They offer two tiers fo service: 1) the Basic @ $10.00 a month, the other is called the Value program and it is $40.00 a month. The Value program offers everything the Basic one does, plus a lot more. The two services are laid out in detail. BUT, if you buy the Basic service, you must pay another fee ($199.99 for the legal aid) for many of the services individually after you are already a member - thus making it not cost effective to be a member.

I called and asked what the deal was. I was on the phone over and hour with them, 28 minutes just waiting to talk to someone human; not a computer menue. They argued with me in circular nonsensical fashion. I was told that the initial offer on their website was not missleading and was meant to be an overview of what they offer. I was told that it was only after I paid the $25.00 registration fee and the club fee for first month that I was allowed to get the information that I needed to make an informed decision about whether or not to join. It was only after I paid to join that I would have the option of paying for whatever services i wanted. The web site says nothing of this.

Then the switch is offered: "if you upgrade to the Value program a lot of these extra charges are dropped." By the time this offer is made, you are already out the registration fee so they have you by the stones and they squeeze.

Problem now is, now that I have upgraded, what hidden charges are there in the grand and exciting "value" program. Now that i have very little trust or faith in this swindling company, who's to say they will come through with anything, or not find a way to screw me out of more money?

They are out there and waiting to give it to you in a hard way without even a considerate thought of a reacharound. Bring your own K-Y.

This customer obviously did NOT describe the full benefits package of this program. More than likely, they did not pay attention to their sales rep and are scrutinizing the program for their lack of understanding. The best benefit of the packages are the supplement products that are built in the programs. They offer guaranteed income protection against common accidents and provides generous payments to association memebers. The customers that have listed complaints on this site failed to point out that everyone using Alliance for Affordable Services association may utilize it for different purposes. Whether or not someones decides to use the Legal Aid Benefits is up to them, but the initial consultation is Free of Charge, as noted on the program highlight. Many of the other programs are Included in the Association at no extra cost and anyone seeking these programs should discuss their questions with a qualified representative. If you have questions about the programs, you should go the website www.affordableservices.org and contact a qualified representative. Make your decisions based real research and not on someone elses biased opinion.

Alliance For Affordable Services Scam and lies

I obtained health insurance several years ago through a company called Midwestern or something. As a part of the application process I was asked to sign many many forms. One of the forms was an application for Alliance for Affordable Services. Very little if anything was said about this except that you have to sign this one to be eligible for the insurance. We called later to cancel the insurance and did not know to cancel this "Alliance" membership. They have been deducting $19.95 from my checking account for years! After hours searching on the internet and many calls to different Alliance companies, I finally found the right one. They said in the fine print of the application that it is very clear that you have to cancel this membership separately. I have tried to track this several times through my bank but until today have always been unsuccessful. Today I searched "Alliance Scam" and found a posting on your site which led me to the correct company. During the last 4 or 5 years we have received nothing in the mail or on email from this company. So about $1000 later, I have now cancelled.

It may be most of you were unaware of what you signed up for. However, we love Alliance. For the $19 a month they have saved me and my family thousands. Not to mention rescued us during floods, flat tires, broken down cars, and hospital stays, and we never paid one friggin penny, besides the $19. You all should have utilizes the services, it is a lifesaver! They are so wonderful, if you call them, I bet they may extend you coverage for the time you were unaware you had it. If they do, make use of it, you'll love it! Check out all the benefits. I've never been denied any of them and utilized all but a few. Good luck and sorry you all had a bad experience. A lot of companies do this same thing, Experian, Equifax, etc are the worst on this tactic. Always read the small print.

WHAT THE -UCK ! I NORMALY DO NOT REALLY SPEND MUCH TIME READING MY BANK STATEMENT...FOR SOME REASON ! I DISCOVER A CHARGE FROM ALLIANCE MBF DUES PPD ... WHAT THE HELL ! AGAIN WHAT THIS CHARGE FOR $18.00 ..OH YES ! MAJOR SCAM... I NEVER HEARD OR DISCUSS THIS COMPANY WITH MY INSURANCE AGENT...IPLAN 2 CALL THIS 800 NUMBER 2MORROW.. AND MOST OF ALL..CONTACT MY BANK...PLZ LETS US SUE THE S. O.B`S & GET R MONEY REFUNDED PLUS INTEREST ! THOMAS

[protected] Alliance Affordable Sevices number. Tell them to stop auto debiting your account or to cancel. It feels like a scam. Been auto drafted since 2009 and finally found out who they are and received this number which gets you directly to them. Hope this helps!

How do you go about cancelling The Alliance Affordable Service membership? I need help since they bank draft me every month.

They have been taking $40 a month out of my account for several years. Even after cancelling health insurance! They make it impossible to cancel. Still trying to figure out how. May have to get lawyer involved!

I have this Memebership with Alliance now for 2 years. If you got this membership through and agent this should have been explained to you properly how to cancel and information should have been given to you by the agent and a letter is mailed out to you with your membership number and all contact phone numbers. This is a service not insurance. Yes they do have benefits that pay you directly for accidental hospital confinment depending what state you are in. Additonal benefits for stroke, heartattack etc. I use this service daily. I love their TELEDOC service. Free doctor consult over the phone. Best thing ever for moms who work! I read all the negative statements from each of you and it sounds like you were not expained well how the service works. I'm sorry for that because the savings you would have been taking advnatage of if you had the service not cancelled. I have saved over $12, 468 so far just by having this service. I have gotten paid in benfits from Alliance in the amount of $6800. I was in the hospital or 11 days for an accidental injury. Benefit was $600 per day, came to $6600. Ambulance benefit was $200. So you see I have made money by having this service. I am truly sorry that this service was not explained to you very well in order for you to take full advantage of its benefits and savings.

I just found out the other day I was being charged different fees depending on the month: $40 to $52/ month since last year! I now have been charged without my knowledge over $461. I was really upset as I thought I paid for my insurance all up front already for the year and it was a big expense as it was. So the one who got charged $19.95/month consider yourself "lucky" (except you waited far too long to see these charges).

My family was/is also a victim of Alliance/Midwestern Life. They have been pulling $99.00 a month for each of us yet we cannot contact them in any way. Finally we close a bank account and they were right on the phone with wondering what had happened. We told them we were cancelling immediately yet two months later they are still robbing our new account. I have no idea how they even got our new information. I called my bank and explained what was going and they are doing a investigation into this company. They have also blocked any more withdrawals. Here is a number my to reach them. My bank was able to supply me with this number. Good luck everyone.

My experience has been infuriatingly consistent w/ the majority of the complaints above. The points made are exactly correct: If they were not a scam, they would, like all other automatic withdrawals post their phone # on your bank statement. Why are they so difficult to track and why have we never received anythihg in the mail about our so-called benefits?
I am not a naturally suspicious person but could it be that the few positive comments were posted by the scammer themselves.
So infuriating that I am taking this to the next level.
