ALLCare Dental ripoff

After months of searching for an affordale dental place to get dentures for my husband we finally chose Allcare Dental. At first the service was great! That is until my husband went back to get his permanent dentures, at that time he was told they are closing the Rochester (Greece) office, and in order to have the denture warranty honored we would have to travel to Buffalo or Syracuse. There is no dentist in Rochester that will honor the warranty, unless you pay a co-pay for each visit.
I have been layed off since Dec. 08, we can not afford to travel to either town for adjustments each time they are needed. Can you imagine in this economy, that they are not going to find a dentist in the Rochester area to honor the warrany on these dentures with out a co-pay each time an adjustment is made?
I called the corporate office and was given the run around, I called the Greece office to talk to the manager, was told the district manager would be in on Thur. last week and would be given our complaint and be told to call us.
Suprise, he never called!
My husband and I are going to contact an attorney to see if we can start a class action lawsuit against Allcare Dental.
Anyone wishing to join us to fight this cause, please contact us via e-mail, [protected]@yahoo.com.
We as consumers are ripped off too much by corporations such as this.

I had work done in May and August of 2008. Two crowns, three extractions and if i remember right 3 fillings. I cant remember the exact amount that I had financed through Care credit (Im working to find that out from them now) As well as putting claims in for the remaining amt to my insurance. The work that was done was crappy. THe doctor who did my extractions shot me three times with novicane...by the time i left the office i coudnt speak, i was scared by how numb i was. he fillings on the other hand a different dr did and he didn't numb me enough and was in pain and he didn't care when i told him. I got the crowns done and went away for the weekend with my temporay ones on and one cracked and fell off and the other was painful to chew with. Got the permenant's on but it's still difficult to chew on one side. In January of 2010 I received a acollection notice from all care for $625.20. I immediately called to see what this was about. The local office wouldnt' give me any info and told me i needed to call their national accounts office. I called and was told by the rep that they would look into it, and it was probably for a insuance claim that was denied. This was over a year later from when the work was done. She said she would call me back in a few days. No call. Next month rolled around got another notice, called again, told the same thing and that they would elevate this to the next step and have the claim resent for approval. Again told someone would call me in a few days no phone call again. Next month another notice. Called again this time the man who answered told me that "There was a major computer glitch and to just ignore the notices and that it may take a few months to get everything straightened out" Me believeing that this could happen ignored the notices i received for the next few months. I believe it was in June or July I called yet again when I got in another notice. After i explained what the last person said about the "computer glitch" she replied telling me that that person was fired and that there was no computer glitch, he just did not want to do his job! She then told me she would look into my account history elevate it to the next level and i should be receiving a phone call from her boss. Guess what! Again no call! This went on the rest of the year until in November I talked to a rep who truely sounded like she was going to help me. She gave me more specific info on contacting my insurance company and what she was going to do and to ask for her specifally when i called in with questions. I called in December when I did not receive a notice to check that it was cleared up. I asked for the last rep i talked to, the one who answered my call said she would check with her. She came back on the line and said that she assured me she was diligently working on my issue and it should be resolved within a few days. Now on March 31 I picked up my mail and found a collection notice from a collection agency that i still owed allcare the $625. I immediately called the agency to dispute the claim. She stated that I needed to talk to my insurance company and find out why the claim was denied. I called my ins. company. They stated it was denied because Allcare did not send in the necessary xrays for my work on my crowns. The insurance company also said that they only received one claim from Allcare which was in aug 2008. They never resubmitted the claim. Now i was told that a different dental office had my chart, but after contacting to the wonderful office staff here found out that they only have the dental records and nothing dealing with the financial aspects of my treatment. After explaining to them what happened they informed me that I Was most likely also over charged for the services that they said was not covered. Also this office is not certain that they have my chart because they have already come across other former allcare patients who they were supposedly to have records for but do not! So I dont know where to go from here. The collection company wants the money and said they would resubmit the claim to my insurance company. My insurance company said they time from to honor a claim is usually 12 months from time time of treatment and they would also need my xrays, and I have no clue where my xrays are! And the poor ladies who work in the dr's office that supposedly have all of the charts from the Allcare office are now dealing with the irate Allcare customers like me. Where do I go from here?

I made an appointment to get 2 teeth pulled around November 21, 2010. After the exam on the 17th I was asked to pay half in advance. which was $175. When i got home my dad said it was WAY to expensive to get 2 teeth pulled. especially since i was getting laid off. He said to call another local family dentist who could do it cheaper. So i called allcare to cancel. they said they could refund $145 keeping the $30 for the exam. Thats fine. What made me mad was a month later i got a call from allcare asking me if i was ready to reschedule my appointment. I told them no. I was supposed to have recieved my money by now. and they said they would make sure the refund went through. I check everyday to see if i got my money. Its been over a month and a half and still no money. so i tried to call them. at first it was "we're closed for the holidays" then i tried calling for the last 3 days and dad told me they probably blocked my phone # because all i was getting was a busy signal or something. My mom just called me and told me they're out of business. SO WHAT DO I DO? I'm out $145. i asked my dad if i should call the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, but he said it would take to long. that it would have to go to court or something. :(

I ACTUALLY THOUGHT ALLCARE BLOCKED MY PHONE NUMBER BECAUSE I WOULD CALL EVERYDAY OR SOMETIMES TWICE A DAY. I WENT TO THE GREENBAY, WI OFFICE NOVEMBER 11TH 2010 IN MAJOR PAIN. THE DR. SAID I NEEDED ALOT OF WORK DONE, BUT I COULD ONLY AFFORD TO GET SOME OF THE WORK DONE AT THIS TIME. I JUST WANTED TO GET RID OF THE PAIN. SO THEY SAID I NEEDED 5 TEETH PULLED, WHICH COST $795. SO I WENT TO OUR CREDIT UNION AND TOOK OUT A LOAN FOR THE MONEY AND BROUGHT ALLCARE A BANK CHECK FOR 795.00. SO I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR NOVEMBER 18TH, 2010. I NEEDED TO WAIT A WEEK DUE TO HAVING A HORRIBLE INFECTION ON BOTH SIDES OF MY MOUTH. WELL, I GET A CALL ON TUESDAY 2 DAYS BEFORE MY EXTRACTIONS, THEY SAID WHEN I WAS THERE LAST WEEK MY BLOOD PRESSURE WAS ELEVATED, WHICH IT WAS. PROBABLY BECAUSE 1. IN EXTREME AMOUNT OF PAIN, 2. WHITE COAT SYNDROME, 3.I HATE DENTIST'S, OR MAYBE BECAUSE THEY USED A VERY SMALL BLOOD PRESSURE CUFF THAT DIDN'T EVEN FIT AROUND MY UPPER ARM SO THEY PUT IT ON MY WRIST. ACTUALLY I HAVE VERY LOW BLOOD PRESSURE, MY REGULAR FAMILY DOCTOR SAID MY PRESSURE HAS BEEN PERFECT FOR 5 YEARS OR WAS LOW. SO WHEN I WENT TO MY APPOINTMENT ON 11/18/10 AT 9:00AM THEY TOOK MY BLOOD PRESSURE GO FIGURE...TOOOOOO HIGH. SO I REQUESTED MY MONEY BACK SINCE THEY WOULD NOT EXTRACT MY 5 TEETH, SINCE MY REGULAR DR. WOULD NOT PUT ME ON BLOOD PRESSURE MEDS, LIKE ALLCARE WANTED MY DR. TO DO. SO I HAVE GOT THE RUN AROUND SINCE THE END OF NOVEMBER. I CALLED THE WI DENTAL ASSOC THEY TOLD ME THAT ALLCARE WAS NOT ALLOWED TO KEEP MY MONEY FOR SERVICES NOT RENDERED. BUT WHEN I TOLD ALLCARE THAT THEY SAID WE ARE NOT KEEPING YOUR MONEY THERE ARE PROCEDURES WE NEED TO FOLLOW. I CALLED AND CALLED AND CALLED SOME MORE. I EVEN WENT AS FAR AS CALLING OUR NEWS ROOM "YOU ASK WE INVESTIGATE FROM NBC 26" BUT I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL FROM THEM. I CALLED NBC 26 PROBABLY THE BEGINNING OF DECEMBER 2010. I BET YOU NOW THEY ARE PROBABLY KICKING THEMSELVES IN THE REAR FOR NOT INVESTIGATING MY STORY. THEY COULD OF REVEALED PROBABLY A BIG, HUGE SCAM! THE LAST TIME I SPOKE TO THE COMPLAINT NUMBER WAS 12/21/10 AND THEY INFORMED ME THE PEOPLE WHO PRINT AND SEND THE REFUND CHECKS WAS OUT OF THE OFFICE UNTIL 01/03/11. SO THAT'S WHY I HAD BEEN CALLING THAT DAMN COMPLAINT NUMBER ALL DAY TODAY. SO I GUESS I AM SCREWED $795.00. IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME PLEASE CALL ME ASAP AT [protected]. MY NAME IS HOLLIE...

My husband had a temporary crown put on and had an appointment for December. He was told his appointment needed to be rescheduled because the offices were all closing for the holidays. My husband was left with a temporary that fell off in within the first two weeks. They should have never put the temporary on if they were closing for two weeks. He prepaid $1, 000 which we really don't have considering we have four kids. He only went there because of the convenient hours because he works nights so later appointments were appealing. Since they closed their doors for good my husband went to a family dentist today only to hear he needed a root canal that Allcare didn't tell him. Go figure, no wonder why he was in extreme pain Christmas and New Years. Now we are out $1, 000 (that Allcare stole) now a root canal and still no crowns. They convinced him to pre-pay because he was saving money! I can't believe this company. If anyone wants to call and complain we have the office manager's cell phone in Lansing, MI. He just left a message on my husbands phone saying he was screwed as well and how do we think he feels considering he has no job. He said he was meeting with an investor to try to open the office back up and hopes to honor what everyone prepaid. [protected]. Call him and blow his phone up! I am all about a class action law suit. In fact I am contacting the MI attorney general, Michigan Dental association and an attorney tomorrow.

I'm on board for any class action suit against ALLCARE DENTAL
I've been over charged and very unhappy with their service.
I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't check them out before going to them.
In a nut shell, my dental insurance company and myself paid out @3, 000
for a tooth extraction.

They are the [censor] of the dental world and should be punished for it.

feel free to email me at b_percoco@yahoo.com to discuss any legal action
I'm up for it.

All these complaints are so familiar. I have had a horrible experience with AllCare Dental. Work done that probably was not necessary-an incompetent dentist that did fillings - a different dentist that pulled 6 teeth who was a Butcher! An upper denture that came back from Buffalo (they advertise an On-Site State-of-the-Art Lab!) with the two front teeth over to the side, etc. etc. I was over-charged for a tooth being pulled that was not and could not get a refund. The list of complaints goes on and on - the denture has yet to be replaced, the lower partial did not fit and I cannot wear it. To make a long story short - the only smart thing I did was to pay with VISA - I filed an Affidavit for Services paid but not received and got my money back which I had paid out of my poc ket. You have 60 days to do this, so this is good to know! I will still contact my insurance company and the Better Business Bureau. I will advise my insurance company as to exactly what they should pay because I suspect Allcare wll file a fraudulant claim. I probably have grounds to file a lawsuit for pain and suffering and would be willing to be contacted and included in a class-action lawsuit. G. Haynie, TN. [protected]

I had a very similar experience! I needed to switch my dentist and Allcare was the only one in my area. I spent two hours waiting on the day of my appointment only to have painful x-rays taken, a consultation by some dentist, and a bill (for NO service)! At the time when my x-rays were taken, the tech dropped one of the bite wings in the trash by mistake. I was mortified when she reached in the trash to retrieve it and attempt to place it in my mouth. I said to her, "are you kidding, you are not about to use that in my mouth!" After the nightmare was over I inquired about at least having my teeth cleaned, which is a service that is 100% covered by my insurance, I was told that I would need to reschedule and besides would need to pay the bill for the other services, they didn't take into consideration whether or not I agreed to it or not. If you have any smarts you will read this complaint and all the others and make an informed decision NOT TO BE RIPPED OFF BY THIS PLACE!

ALLCare Dental charges and high pressure

Made an appointment for an "no charge" evaluation and consultation, they wanted me to pay $6300.00 . Upon balking from shear shock the Mgr. (mr Mafia type) started offering discounts. Pressured me to sign that day. Said I would have to think about it. He ststed that "this price was only good for today" I called the next day after checking around, and ask if he could offer a better price. No was the answer. I am in the process of having the exact same work done for $3400.00 . This by a young up-to date dentist that is very good. Don't even look at AllCare, the even sent me a bill for $129.00 for my "no charge evaluation" which I will not pay!

I went to AllCare in Chattanooga TN. I wanted dentures as all of my teeth are cracking in half, no decay just cracking through the root. The dentist was RUDE and said I should take better care of my teeth. No plack anywhere no gum disease nothing. Said I needed partials and I said I didn't want to spend anymore money on partials because when I loose another tooth I would have to get another partial. He said " Well its your choice but I won't pull the remaining 6 teeth on top, you need to find another dentist" He would only agree to partials. Next the person in the office tried a VERY HIGH PRESSURE tactic to get me to sign a contract for some $7, 000.00 in dental work. NO WAY was I signing that and I wasn't going to try to pay off a credit for something I didn't want. I have lost another tooth because it was cracked. The one the dentist argued was perfectly OK. I called to get my XRay's and was told I had to sepnd another $20.00 for them because Delta paid for that visit not me . I paid $129.00 and I have the cancelled check to prove it but I was told it was a free visit that Delta would cover it. The person in the office said they had already checked with Delta and I had a $1, 200. limit for the year and they were filing the claim. Delta had no record of any charges for the year so far and they were never contacted by AllCare. These are not honest people and I believe it is a company owned and operated in India so there is no way to get to the top and get a honest answer.

AllCare dental is a scam to get people signed up for medical credit card. I went for a dental checkup about a week ago, and today i got a CC from GE money which I didn't even apply. They are messing up our credit history.
Going to dentist is just like applying for a credit card.

ALLCare Dental Unnecessary expensive work done

After loosing 2 front teeth, my husband went to Allcare Dental in Boardman Ohio for a partial plate to replace the teeth. After a cursory examination and x-rays, they told him that a partial was impossible due to the extremely bad condition of the rest of his teeth. They told him that if he didn't agree to have all of this teeth extracted, and soon, he was in immediate danger of major systemic health complications, such as heart attack, blood poisining and yeas, possible death. He was then ushered into a session with the finance manager where he was informed that the cheapest set of dentures that were available was about $5200.00, which included the extractions and dentures. When my husband balked at the price, the "salesman" lowered the number to $4500. He has been out of work for three years and has no medical insurance, so they set him up with a credit plan with Capital One. No credit check at all...he has no credit. I ask you, how do you give a man with no money, no job and no prospects, a credit line of $4500? The extractions were done, and they gave him a set of dentures way too big for his mouth (soapdishes). After a year of complaining to Allcare (he couln't talk or eat...lost 25 pounds) who refused to talk to us anymore, we went to another dentist who said the reason that he was so miserable is that the dentures were sitting on (outside) the remaining gum ridge, not over it. We were forced to have a completely new set of dentures made (which are beautiful) to the tune of $1500. To cap it all off, there is some question as to the fact that they pulled teeth unnecessarily. Needless to say, we are looking for a lawyer to recoupe the $4500 (really 6700.00 after interest) and any damages we can. Stay away...you will be sorry.

I am also looking for an Attorney. I did not receive my dentures and was forced to have a tooth pulled (and a tooth was broken while they pulled that one which was not repaired correctly, at that) rather than have a root canal and cap that I paid for in my contract. I was told that I owed $6000.00 more than my agreed upon amount. This was AFTER I had had most of my work done. Thank goodness I had my contract in hand when they wanted to discuss this new amount. I had to pay only a few hundred dollars more because I cried and was not very quiet in the finance office. The numbers were rehashed a few times before I agreed to settle for less work and cheaper upper partials. And then I had to fight to get my temporary upper partials. They claimed I had already gotten them, when I had not. I was to get my permanent lower dentures in December of this year as well as permanent upper partials, but had to have two surgeries on my back and did not set an appointment. I only heard about the closing of Allcare recently when I got a notice from another dental office about taking over my care. I want to do something about the way I was treated, the poor work that was done, and the dentures/partials I did not obtain that I paid for. PLEASE any Attorney that can help me; contact me at (abruised@gmail.com)

Allcare is a big joke. if you have ever thought about going there, pass it buy. they are a waste of time & money. i used to work there last year and i could only feel for the customers as they were yelling at me. i felt really bad when i left for the day when patients complained of being chared for services they did not recieve. the refund process is way too long in my opinion. sometimes taking up to 6 months. not sure where this same day dentures info is coming from when we have to ship it out to a different state. hummm. i would not let my family get their teeth worked on there so i had to quit.

ALLCare Dental Customer Service

My employer got new insurance and unfortunately our dental plan only worked with Allcare. I was uneasy from the beginning and I had been suffering from a terrible toothache. First, the girl who took my x-ray was so rude and the X-ray procedure was very painful. She tried to put this huge thing in my mouth and it was so uncomfortable. Then the dental assistants and the “doctors” were walking around and the dental hygienist was singing and was so unprofessional. Then they told me I needed a root canal. I couldn’t take the pain so I said to go ahead a have the root canal done. It was my first root canal so I was extremely nervous. I was there for a total of 6 hours over 3 days. Now it has been one month since they put the crown in and my new tooth has been bleeding and just as painful as the original toothache. So I called and was told to come in and they would look at it. In the mean time I moved because of a job so they told me to go to the West Mifflin/Pittsburgh 320 Clairton Blvd. Pittsburgh, PA 15236, [protected]… I walked in and the “Business Manager” was so rude to me. He told me that I owed them $900.. I kept telling him that I didn’t understand.. The people at the office that I had the procedure done told me that I was all paid up. He got upset and told me that I owed them that money and I have to pay it. I kept asking him “how?” and he said “Look I am just telling you what my computer shows!”… Then he said that the girls at the other office gave me the wrong information and mistakes happen. I was shaking because I didn’t understand and he was so rude. I told him that I was going to call the other office and he said ‘Go ahead, but you still owe us this money..” I told him not to touch my tooth, and said “fine, but you are still going to have to pay”…. I was shaking because I couldn’t believe that he just talked to me like that. He never even called the other office to see what the problem was. Then I called that office to get the number to the corporate office and the secretary put me on the phone and Chuck got on the phone and asked why I was calling corporate on him. He said “What are you going to say, that I gave you the wrong information”… I told him that I didn’t have to explain to him why I needed the corporate office number.. He said that is fine because they will just call me… His name is Chuck Ferrari and I had never been treated like this by anyone. I am warning everyone not to go there and that Chuck was so rude and unprofessional.

Very impersonal, dont care about your pain or feelings, just how much money they can extract from you and your insurance. The whole buisness manager thing is a farce. After my extractions i was shoved out of my chair into a waiting area with other people, dizzy, mouth had blood all over it with temporary dentures shoved in my face with no regards to the pain, gauze in hand people stared at me wondering whether to run while they could. Unfortunately i did not read the complaints beforehand and have to go there to get my dentures because I had to prepay. Staff is unprofessional and i witnessed a hygenist or whatever she was slamming things around after being scolded by the dentist. I advise anyone thinking of going there to think twice while you still have the option.

I had the "pleasure" of dealing with Chuck also. I prepaid for work then decident not to reurn because of the all aorund unprofessional attitude of the building. Here's a few examples: The dentist gossiping about other peopel in the office while working on me. Office staff saying "hey" to me instead of excuse me. Telling me that I need oral surgery when all I needed was a cleaning and a cavity filled. And of course, Chuck. On October 12, 2009 I told them that I wouldn't be back and I that I wanted my money refunded. It's now January 28, 2009. Do you think I've gotten my money yet? No, I haven't. I just filed a complaint with the BBB.

i dont know about the place you guys are talking about, but i totally agree about allcare especially the one in mansfield.they first messed up on a rootcanel they did on me an i had to go to an endontist an get surgeory done to have it fixed, went through pain for about6weeks, then shortly after the dentist broke a needle off in my jaw, had to go to an oral surgeorn, he had to contact ohiostate docters.i had to wait 5weeks in pain then finally had surgeory done on thursday an got the needle out, now am in alot more pain cause it was a really rough surgeory, but long story short they treat people like ### even there little girls that work at that front desk that dont know the first thing about customer service..all i got to say is allcare of mansfield needs to be shutdown it should have been a long time ago, an i think the attorney general or someone who can should really investagate them.

ALLCare Dental RUDE! RUDE!

First of all...there is NO privacy at all. It took me a month and a half after my initial consultation just to get an appointment to get the root canal done, that they said I needed. After 2 hours of waiting... I had to go to work, which they knew about ahead of time. They suddently rushed me back, drilled my tooth down so much that there is nothing left, put in a temporary filling and said, " Okay, we will call you and talk about your options." OPTIONS! WHAT OPTIONS? I WENT THERE FOR A ROOT CANAL! And, they never called me. I then called later that month because the tooth got infected, to the point that my face was swollen, and it took them the entire day to even get back with me, when all I needed was a prescription for the infection. A month after that I called to make an appointment to get that tooth extracted, they then referred me to an oral surgeon. I asked why I was being referred to an Oral surgeon...THEY REFUSED TO TELL ME WHY! HELLO... IT'S MY TOOTH! All the idiot on the phone kept say was " That's what he said". Who is "he"? And why couldn't I talk to him? I have never in my life encountered a place so unprofessional! Oh, and after the wanna be root canal, I got a bill for 5 fillings...THAT I NEVER GOT! STAY FAR AWAY FROM ALLCARE DENTAL!

Not that I support Allcare but being black and blue after extractions is normal especially if your teeth are difficult to pull. My mother got her extractions done at a fabulous dentist and ended up black and blue and swollen to the point it looked like someone had beat her up.

I was also a victim of this dental company Allcare dental. Until now they have not given my permanent denture. They are rude, unprofessional and rip off. I was black and blue after my tooth extraction, no apology done. I reported them to Better Business Bureau, but they did not response. I am warning the people who are planning to go to this dental clinic, think twice and make research, look at the BBB website and check this company's credibility.

ALLCare Dental Poor Service, money grubbing

My husband had gone to AllCare Dental for FULL dentures. Even though all his teeth are basically falling out of his mouth because of Radiation Therapy he received, he was told that a FULL set of Dentures was not necessary, and that he would only need a partial.

Since, he has had to have 3 more teeth pulled because of them breaking. We are looking at needing a full set of dentures anyway, we've already shelled out $3, 000 to AllCare for partials.

They are out of control and need shut down! I'm considering hiring an attorney to file suite against them.

ALLCare Dental refused to treat but charged

I am extremely scared of dentists and so haven't been in 9 years. I called the local AllCare Dental office. I asked them if they would beable to medicate me for the appointment as my teeth are very sensitive and I get nervous. I was told that they would evaulate me and decide if it was necessary. So I went in a couple of weeks ago. They did the x-rays and then moved me to an open room to wait on the dentist. When she came she started talking to the nurse about having to pull my teeth without ever even saying "hi" to me. I got nervous and sat up. I asked if she said I needed teeth pulled. She then replied no that she had misread it. Then continued to talk to the nurse about all the bad teeth I had. I got really nervous listening and started a nervous laugh. She then told me that I had 5 cavities but she didn't think she could work on my because I was scared. I told her I was okay to please try. She informed me that she couldn't have me having a heart attack on her and looked inside my mouth for about a second. I was doing better than ever but yes a little scared. She told me that she was going to refer me to another dentist but couldn't give me an actual referral as I would just be going to another general dentist. I told her that I asked when I made the appointment about giving me something for nerves. She told me that when I called them I got sent to their main answering service that doesn't know what each office does. The Indiana offices don't use things such as laughing gas. I was then told that I could pick up my x-rays any time to bring to another dentist.
My insurance did get charged for the exam (which they didn't do) so I have to pay for my exam at the new dentist myself. I decided to call about getting my x-rays and was told I would have to give them 24 hrs and would have to pay a fee for them since I wasn't referred. I explained to them that the doctor told me she was verbally referring me but that they couldn't give me a written referal due to it be another general dentist and that I was told I could pick them up any time. She got rude and told me that I would have to give them 24 hrs and I would have to pay. The lady on the phone was flat out awful and didn't even try to help me. I'm still in shock that they never even tried to do any thing other than x-rays. I'm contacting my insurance to see what can be done.

In January, 2009 I needed a tooth extracted and a new bottom plate. Allcare associates over the phone seemed very friendly and helpful so I went there. At first everything went well. Little did I know what was in store for me. The dentist was rude and her assistants were worse. They treat their clients like idiots. I worked in retail most of my life and have never encountered anything like this. Not only was it me but I could hear other clients being treated just as poorly. I had recently finished cancer treatments and did not need this aggravation in my life. Now they claim I owe them an extra $700.00 for dental extractions. I thought the bill was taken care of when I left their office. I now have teeth that hurt when I wear them. I went into the office to try to get them fixed properly and the girl actually asked me just what do I expect from them. I am no longer working and they want to sue me. It has been a nightmare. How they stay in business is beyond me.

ALLCare Dental Credit for services not used

I had a tooth on the bottom that was chipped but didn't even hurt yet so when I needed to have 4 teeth pulled for an upper partial plate I changed my plan with them so it wouldn't be pulled in September 2008. When I got there the were ready to pull the painless tooth and I said no. When you have many teeth pulled for a partial or dentures you get a mild sedative to take before your appointment so when they said they'd just pull it anyway I hesitantly agreed. They did charge my insurance company when they said they'd just do it and said it there'd be no charge. Such liars. I went back 3 months later to have a checkup to see how I was healing so I could get my permanent partial and they said that I couldn't get it as 2 of my 4 upper teeth went bad seeing they didn't have the other teeth for added strength. Allcare said I could have my $$1200 back. NOT! After a month of trying to contact them I finally got a credit on my credit care for a bit over $500. Far cry from the $1110 I paid out of pocket. For some reason my insurance co. (I'll be calling Monday) still hasn't paid for 3 of the extractions so Allcare kept $342 for that. Insurance hadn't paid for the permanent partial plate either that's why I received some payment back they said. At least I received some money back, but I'm not finished yet with them. Allcare is truly a scam outfit that wants all of your money up front at an overcharge. You depend on a dentist to be kind and at a fair price. My new dentist (referred by coworkers) is pulling the last 4 teeth and I'm getting a full top denture soon. Including insurance I only have to pay $478 out of pocket. I know a partial costs about $200 more, but still it's a far cry from the $1110 I had to fork out to Allcare. I've never in my life had issues with a company and it makes me sad that these people scam patients who are in pain. Also, when I was told that I couldn't get a partial anymore at my appointment the dentist had ice for a heart. Just said you can't get a partial and you'll get your $1200 back. I never saw him again. I've seen 3 dentists there during my visits and the first one I saw was the only one that seemed to care. Funny that I haven't seen her there on subsequent visits. Hopefully she moved on. One more thing- When I was going on vacation I made an appointment (had to take off more time from work) about a 6 weeks after my extractions to have my temporary partial plate relined, that dentist said, "You have enough suction and don't need it relined. Was I ever discussted when I left then too. Need I say more? I do have even more issues with Allcare. Please don't go to Allcare Dental.

ALLCare Dental The Scam

Just so everyone knows the truth, it is just what you think. Allcare requires all office managers to deposit at least $1, 000.00 per new patient that walks in the front door. The model for the company is to get the patient in the door no matter what. The doctor will do the exam, set up a "comprehensive treatment plan" and try to get you to pre pay for your treatment. If you cancel treatment before you have dentures finished they will charge you for "denture steps". Keep in mind the denture steps that you will be charged for are not recognized ADA codes, but this is done in an attempt to adhere patients from canceling treatment. Allcare will also limit the amount of patients with DMO/HMO insurance that they will see on a given day because the insurance company doesnt pay them as much. Allcare will also make three attempts to call a patient who has prepaid for their treatment but not had it finished. After that, the money is put into a different account and it sits, interest free, until the patient calls wanting their refund. The office managers are paid on how much money they collect, so they will try and "close" every patient for an extensive treatment plan. The denture's that they make are decent but well overpriced. The most extensive denture, which is $1, 299.00 a plate (before discounts) actually costs roughly $300.00 to make. The managers give a 5% prepay, and a 10% senior discount, but are actually authorized to give discounts up to 20%. Whatever it takes to close the deal. Just a little info!

Problem is we have people that do not know how to do right by the people and protect them from business that scams. It is ignored by our Government Officals like, Better Business Bureau, Consumer Protection Bureau, to Attorney Generals of States, which are paid with the tax payers money. State Dental Board does nothing also. So why are these people getting paid to do nothing about scams from Allcare, when it is their job. I have my paperwork in order just the way they like to see paperwork in front of them to read as a Judge does, and waiting for a Real Lawyer to take on the suit aginst Allcare and protect the people Allcare has ripped off. #1 a Lawyer would make out good on a class action suit. #2 People would get their money back for work that has not been done right or at all. But since Lawyers has not taken action knowing the facts, it amazes me how they became Lawyers. This is a no brainer, grade school knowledge no brainer. It may not stop scams that pop up all the time, but now is the time for the people that have been ripped off by businesses to start taking action. It also has been telegraphed to Michigan Attorney General more than a year ago, and sure before that. I am sure that I was not the only one turning Allcare in for bad pratice scams. Allcare Dental &Dentures also making our Lawyers look bad in Michigan, Better Business Bureau looks bad, Consumer Protection Bureau looking bad also the Attorney Generals job. For sure any State Dental Board across the States are really looking bad not doing their job. This is a no brainer to take up a class action suit aginst Allcare Dental&Dentures. Wake up State Dental Boards and start doing your job your getting paid for, if you can not walk your talk get out and let a responsible person that knows how to do the job take over, to protect the consumers that gets ripped off. A NO BRAINER... We now can not trust our State Dental Boards to be honest in doing their job, Better Business Bureau, Attorney Generals, Consumer Protection Bureau. Did I leave anyone out that has the job to over look these typs of businesses that rip off the consumer, they are to protect instead of not doing their job that they do so well and get paid for it.

Aspen/Allcare and Ohio State Dental Board Executive Director Lili Reitz
The closing of Allcare Dental did not happen overnight. Their shady business and dental practices have been known in Ohio for more than 5 years. Everyone within the circles of dental regulation knew what was going on at Aspen/Allcare. The initial news is that Allcare dental offices closed their doors abruptly. Here is just a part of this story.

For years dentists have told the Executive Director and Dental Investigators of the Ohio State Dental Board that the Aspen/Allcare business model is unethical and unlawful. The Ohio State Dental Board is the government agency responsible for protecting the citizens of Ohio from illegal dental procedures and business practices. The Ohio State Dental Board is the agency that is empowered to regulate and prevent dental care that is below the standard of care. They are responsible for the dental profession by enforcing those parts of the Ohio Revised Code that cover the practice of dentistry in Ohio. Lili Reitz, a lawyer, is the Executive Director of the Ohio State Dental Board. Kathy Carson, Gail Davis, and Harry Pasku are the dental board’s Investigators. They were supposed to protect the citizens of Ohio.

Lili Reitz, Executive Director of the Dental Board has brought discredit to herself, Ohio regulatory and legislative bodies, and the profession of dentistry. It is time for Lili Reitz and dental board investigators Kathy Carson, Gail Davis, and Harry Pasku to resign or be removed. They knew what was going on. And they knew it for the past five years. Dentists employed by Aspen/Allcare, past and present, practically begged the Ohio State Dental Board to step in and do their job. Many of these dentists were certain that the Ohio State Dental Board would close the Ohio Aspen/Allcare dental offices before anyone got hurt. Some 150, 000 to 200, 000 Ohio dental patients have been “abandoned”. These patients have been denied care and many have lost money. Lili Reitz, Cathy Carson, Gail Davis, and Harry Pasku did nothing. This is a part of the story.

I would love to find out who has been successful at suing Allcare. I have the opposite situation - they will not give me a listing of procedure codes or the doctor's name who worked on my daughter before we saw the light and ran out of there. We were fortunate and did not prepay anything, but now I am getting bills and I have no backup to prove they did anything! Can't file with insurance either. I would love for them to sue me, because I have proof of all the contacts I tried to make. Who knows of a lawyer that takes Allcare cases? Please send to me at dan@mcglaun.com

99% accurate...the discount allowed amount is up to 30%. Also, Allcare states that their denture prices "start at" (x amount of dollars)...however ALL office managers are told while they go through "training" that if they sell even one Economy denture, they will be fired by the end of business day.

Not to mention good luck in trying to get your refunds...Office Managers are given lists of reasons as to why a refund will not be processed. Even if they agree with the patient and feel the money should be returned, it must pass along to their Regional Manager who has final say. You can obviously guess what that reponse will be...the only time they willingly give money back is if it's an insurance overpayment. Oh, yeah...if you also are aware of the fact that your insurance company paid too much. They do have a "patient relations" department for you to call if you feel that your complaint or refund has yet to processed. They will agree with you, tell you that your money will be refuned only to be overruled by higher up.

The only time that I have ever seen them flat out give money back is when someone complains to the Attorney General, the Dental Board, and take them to court...while your in court with them (before the proceedings begin) they'll strike a deal with you in the hall, give you ALL of your money back and try and encourage you to come back and "let them make it right."

Hope this helps too.

ALLCare Dental Rip-Off

My husband and I just moved to the area and Allcare was the only place locally that is covered by our insurance. Had I known that it was located in a strip mall, I probably wouldn't have made the appointment. The whole experience was shady from the beginning. Our appointment was at 3:00 and we didn't leave until after 5:00. All the procedures were taking place in a large open room. The assistants were walking in and out of each patient area, joking with eachother which was very unprofessional and erased any feeling of privacy. The x-ray process took a half hour and was quite painful. From there they moved us to another area where our x-rays were examined and the dentist took a look in our mouths. The tools were often handled by the assistants without gloves on. My husband was told he would need a tooth extracted and 9 cavities filled. The dentist showed me my x-rays, pointing out numerous spots of decay. In total, I would need 14 cavities filled and a root canal. My husband and I have regularly seen the dentist our entire lives, brush and floss daily, are young, and in general have healthy teeth. We each have had a few cavities filled over the years, but nothing serious. According to Allcare, in the year it has been since our last dental check-up, we need a combined total of 25 teeth filled. We were then moved to a consultation room where a man laid out a treatment plan. When I questioned all the fillings, he called our previous family dentist a liar, stating that "x-rays don't lie." 2 hours later we walked out in shock and still didn't have our teeth cleaned. Allcare is just in it for the money. They are not to be trusted.

Went into Allcare dental was told they could do dental work and I would have white teeth with caps. Athe the same time was told if I did not do this I would lose my teeth. They would not tell me why. I wanted white teeth so I agreed. They charged 4700.00 to a credit card. This has been going on for over a year and a half. The second dentist told me they could not make my teeth white did not know why I was told I would lose my teeth. about 6 months ago I told them to cancel the plan and stopped treatment. they told me my card would be credited in 45 days. every time I call they tell me 45 days as of Dec 28 still not credited.

Back in april of 2008 I went to allcare for dentures and extractions. We paid them over 3000.00 for their sevices did not get extractions done by them because they could not meet my needs. So I had to go somewhere else and pay the other people for tooth removal. When I recieved my dentures the did not fit to big, so I went back and they added something to make them fit better but it did not work. Ive gone back manytimes and still do not fit. I can not eat very much because of the lose fit and small teeth. now I have to go somewhere else and spend more money on teeth that should have been fixed the first time not three years later. ann s from nh

Allcare closed abruptly without contacting their patients. Their websire states that my records will be transfered to a different dentist, but nowhere does is state the new dentist WILL NOT charge me for new dentures (which I already paid for in advance).

My advice is for all patients to file a dental claim form which can be downloaded from the internet. I mailed mine last week.

They did a good job making my new upper plate. They said to come back in 6 months to be fitted for my lower partial. When I arrived on January 4th to set up an appointment they were out of business.

The service and the job that Allcare did on my teeth was not bad. However, when I went there, the staff was highly unprofessional. The dental assistant told me all about her love life. She even used the work d**k, and used cuss words. On my first visit, they had a temporary manager. I think his name was Bryce. He somehow fast talked me into signing up to have four crowns put in when I only needed two, which would cost me $55 per month. So the next day, I came back and told him I only needed two, and they fixed it for me, and the payments would be the same. By the time I had my two new crowns put in, they had a new manager, however I cannot remember her name. She also reviewed the finances and said they would be $55 per month through a company called Care Credit. A couple of weeks later, I get my first bill from Care Credit, and my jaw dropped. It was $130! I called Allcare Dental right away and she said she would take care of it for me. Well, the next month it was back to $55. The following month, was back up to $130! So I called this company called Care Credit, and I could not hardly understand a word they said, and they repeated my name over and over again. Anyways, I'm screwed. They won't lower my monthly payments to what Allcare said they would be, and every statement I get in the mail, I get a phone call two days later from Care Credit. They even called me first thing in the morning on Valentine's day. Needless to say, I will never go back to Allcare dental, and unfortunately, I have to use my tax returns to pay off this stupid bill. I was really hoping to use it towards my new home.

I aswell had the same issue with allcare. I was reffered to them by a friend...big mistake! I called and made an appointment. The day of my appointment being at 9 a.m. I was still unseen at 11 a.m.! Finally when my name was called i was sent to a big open room where my xrays were to be taken. The woman who took my xrays was very forcefull with the instrument used in my mouth to take single xrays...after receiving my xrays i was moved to another open space to see the dentist he was asian and could not speak english very well at all. He informed me that i would need 8 teeth pulled 2 bridges and 22 fillings! This i thought was strange i have always taken really good care of my teeth. While he also explained to me that none of my procedures could be performed this visit! I had to beg for pain medicine to hold me until i could get my teeth pulled! Next mistake i paid for all this upfront! The work they do is terrible. My two bridges do not fit properly! And when i went to this guy to get my teeth pulled he did not give my mouth enough time to numb before he pulled my teeth and when i told him "i can still feel that" he replied with "your big boy, you be ok" i felt every single poke, [censor], prod and pull while i was in that dental chair...thank you allcare for completely terrifying me of ever going back to a dentist

I found out where my records are and i found out that my money and services not done are gone. The dentist is just helping out giving out the records and if dentures or anything was in the lab they will be giving them out. I have a 1500.00 useless partial on bottom and my top teeth are the temps and they are to small, to white, and dont fit at all and i am stuck because the knew dentist quoted me 1700.00 for another top denture. i already paid in full 4500.00. IF A DENTIST IN THE AREA CARES ENOUGH MAYBY THEY COULD HELP OUT ALL OF US ESPECIALLY IF WE ALREADY PAID.

Dear "ALL CARE IS A GOOD COMPANY" post...if they are so flipping good, how come they are out of business, leaving many people in the lurch...I had my own experience at ALL CARE, and I will say the office in Livonia was good to me, but when I moved to Buffalo, it was like NIGHT AND DAY...BUFFALO office staff was rude, unprofessional and flippant. The dentist was less than professional, and appeared to NOT KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING for the most part! I have a 5 year 'warranty' plan with them, but I knew a year ago they would not honor that 'warranty' cause they would be out of business. ALL I say to that is 'good RIDDANCE ALL CARE'...about time!AND I hope they get investigated and people who have paid for services and products not rendered get service they paid for. FOR THOSE OF YOU CONSIDERING FUTURE DENTAL NEEDS, DO YOUR HOMEWORK, KNOW THE DENTAL CO YOU WOULD LIKE TO VISIT. There are good ones out there...just have to find the right one!
