All Breeders / Never, EVER buy

1 ANY CITY, United States Review updated:

PLEASE don't breed or buy when Millions die! Adopt a pet instead! According to the Humane Society of the United States, approximately 2 dogs are euthanized every second just because nobody wants them. More than 7 million pets are euthanized every year due to pet overpopulation. That's 135, 000 per week or 20, 000 pets euthanized every 24hours, 365 days a year.

WHEN YOU PURCHASE A PET from anyone YOU ARE ADDING TO THE PROBLEM!! Instead contact your local animal shelter or a rescue group in your area and give a pet a second chance at life. The only way to put these puppy mills out of business is NOT to purchase from them.

Even reputable breeders add to the problem. Many pure bred animals are put to sleep each and every day, not ONLY mutts.

And NEVER buy a pet from a pet store. You can be 100% sure that these animals are directly from puppy mills where they are kept in crowed cages and do not receive any socialization. You are asking for a dog with health and behavioral problems when you buy a dog from a pet store. The breeding animals are nothing but money makers for these monsters. They do not receive vet care, and they live their ENTIRE LIVES in a small cage with a wire floor, living in their own filth.

HAVE A HEART AMERICA!!

There are Millions of Starving children, Do you think no one on earth should have a child ? Not all dogs in Shelters are there because of a bad breeder - its bad owners - and bad situations - and bad neighbors - and bad life choices from owners . Only 25% of dogs in Shelters are Purebreed, of those not all are from AKC registered parents. You are barking up the wrong tree if you want to stop homeless pets. Education of pet owners, door to door, At schools, Awareness is how to Stop the abuse and neglect of American pets. That can start with the Breeder - and That is why there are so less Purebreed dogs in shelters - because Most Breeders are responcible and educate there new buyers .. Its when a buyer fails to listen ( there own ignorance ) and does not spay or neuter there pet and it gets breed by another dog - then those puppies are given away for a low price or free and then the next generation is cared for less .. less Education, less Money spent on the dog because it was free/cheep most do not care if its loose or not medicated etc . Education is the Key - not Manditiory "Adopt Only" .

Thank you for trying, agian your barking up the wrong tree.

Funny, I'm about to buy a dog from a pet store becuase the rescues will not deal with me becuase of young children in the household.

They actually told me the reason is that the source of many of their dogs is from houses with kids.

Guess they probably ought not to adopt them to old people, too, becuase many dogs are surrendered by elderly who are put into care where there are no dogs allowed. And anyone who doesn't own a house. Or moves a lot. Or isn't indepentendly weathly - 'cause they might lose their job.

In short, if they wanted to, they could disqualify anyone.

David, you should still buy from a reputable breeder - and this is why.

The pet store is making about a 150% profit - they buy puppies for $300 from the breeders and then sell them for upward of $1000- $2000. Often they are NOT buying puppies from people with just one or 2 litters a year, they are buying from puppy farms and getting them just at 8 weeks old when they are ready to go home.
Not all of the puppies are going to be registered with the AKC - instead the dogs are registered with lesser FOR MONEY registry’s . What happens is that a dog is bough with Limited AKC papers- sure it has a pedigree but it is not as “quality” as some of the other puppies in the litter. That buyer will breed that dog anyways and put another registry on the litter like CKC or other crap reg that will register any Mutt or dog because it looks almost purebred. AKC spends Millions of dollars in Disease research, and is a way better deal down the road.

Buy from a breeder because you get a better Guarantee, there are not puppies coming and going like a pet store has - so there is less chances the puppy with have distemper or parvo, The breeder KNOWs there breed and can give you advice AFTER a Sale- Petstore owners only know basic stuff they are not poodle/dachshund/Chihuahua etc pro's .. A reputable breeder is ALWAYS willing to take back their puppies/dogs should something tragic happen to you, or you can no longer afford your dog.. if the dog can’t go right to the breeder they already have other homes lined up that have been waiting years for adult dogs.

A good breeder will listen to your life story and match you with the right puppy, one with appropriate energy and level of dominance. They will teach you how to feed your dog, what shots to give when, where to find the best dog trainers.. It’s SO SO much of a better deal to go through a reputable breeder.
