All American Home Phone - Would not take freeze off my phone

I called to let this company know that i was switching telephone companies because i needed unlimited long distance on my phone, i did this 2 days before my other phone service was going to be hooked up. They said they would make sure that i would get this done. I had to call this company 5 times and they still have not lifted the freeze, the name of the supervisor is Kyle. I spoke with him 3 times and he assured me that the freeze would be lifted. I do not owe this company any money, so there is no reason they should not lift the fee. Then I keep getting these messages to pay my bill when I have already told them i was switching to another company. I am going to report this company to the bbb and also to the states attorneys office. This company has the worst customer service and they lie a lot, Kyle ought to be ashamed of himself for lying to people. Every where i go, I am going to tell everyone not to get All American Home Phone the service sucks.

Im not sure if anyone uses Facebook but here is a page that was made solely for you to complain or make good comments. It is obvious that a supervisor that works for this company and/or even Kyle himself commented. The people who are in charge will always agree with the company even if they know it lacks morale. This company cant even keep their employees happy so from the looks of this site and others... they cant keep their customers happy either.

all american home phone has over 30, 000 customers in 10 states. over the past three years, we have provided prepaid home phone service to over 100, 000 credit-challenged customers. because we realize that customers need to conserve their cash, we offer the first month free for customers on government assistance, and, never require a security deposit, and, we never charge for installation.

most of the above 11 complaints seem to come from not fully understanding exactly what service we provide:
1. we offer your first month free when you are on government assistance. however, we are required to provide you service for that entire month. thus, we cannot process an order to cancel your service during this free month.
2. we send you a bill for the second month, which you are free to pay (renew) or throw away (cancel). most customers pay the bill, and, renew their service which includes caller id, call waiting, and, some long distance minutes. if you don't pay the bill, your service will be turned off after the end of your free month. you still received a free month of service ... a pretty sweet deal ... you paid nothing and got a free month of home phone service.
3. we only provide dialtone to the phone box outside your house or apartment. it is up to you to make sure the wire and phone jacks in your house are ok. a common problem: if you had cable phone service before calling us, the cable company cut your traditional telephone line in order to hook up your cable phone service. if you try to switch to us, your line has been cut inside your house or apartment.
4. most of our customers renew their service with all american home phone because of the many advantages we offer: caller id, call waiting, long distance, no security deposit, easy payment by credit card, moneygram, or money order.
we are proud of the government-assisted phone service that we offer to customers who are trying to stretch every dollar... we don't charge you a deposit or an installation expense.
we look forward to helping you get and keep quality home phone service. to those customers who have left us with a bad experience, we apologize, and, invite you to try our service again. we are always trying to improve.
thanks for reading, all american home phone

I called this phone company various times and I could never get through. When I finally did on two occassions I told the cust. serv. rep that I wanted to cancel my service. They said they would handle it but my phone service has not been disconnected. I kept calling calling last mth. and the lady said she'd take care of it. I paid for a whole mth. of serv. that I never used b/c I found out that the phone jacks in my condo were bad and that I would have to discontinue my service w/ All American Home Phone. I'm tired of being sweet talked but left feeling unsatisfied. Worst cust. serv. ever and half the time either no one answers or the line stays busy and when someone does answer your call, they will lie to you and say that they have resolved your issue when they haven't. I applied for home service with this company on 8/24/09. I had a family emergency and was away from home for one month, I didn't even know I had a phone number or that I had the service until I got the bill, I called in to pay the bill and then the service was still disconnected, I never even talked or dialed a number on the phone. I spoke with Kyle the supervisor who told me on 9-24-09 that he would refund my money it is no 9-30-09 and I have not received my money yet, every time I call the number the line is busy.

I am in the telecommunications industry. I personally do not work for All American but I do manage an office that competes with them. As far as the first month free issue...All American Home Phone, as well as my company and many others in the industry, is a prepaid telephone service. Therefore, when your service is established, if at that point you haven't paid anything, then your first month was for free. The bill you receive is for your next month of service. The reason the due date is typically 5 days before the disconnection date (usually 25 days after your first day of service) is due to the reason that if it were due on the last day of service there would be too much of a risk of you making a last minute payment and it not getting into the system in time to keep your phone service from being interrupted. The reason this type of company can offer you a free month is because of promotions that the ILEC offers in the area that all phone companies provision their telephone lines through. The ILEC requires that a service be established for a minimum of 30 days of service in order to receive the promotional discounts that allows your free month of service to be rendered. The local service carrier freeze, with your authorization, is used to keep the service established long enough to ensure that the promotional money is awarded to cover the cost of the free month connection. As far as the poor customer service, I won't comment on that because there is no excuse. But as a manager in this industry I want to ensure people that it is not a scam or a way to get over someone. It is not as simple as giving someone a free service, there are underlying requirements to do so which can be fully explained by the company and any resonable person should be capable of understanding the requirements. I urge people to actually review applications before getting service with a company since it seems a lot of the confusion is based around an individual not understanding how the system works. It is also not a federal offense to place or require a freeze on an account. However, after the initial 30 days of service it is required to be removed when requested by the customer and that process DOES take 24-48hrs. Phone service is not as simple as flipping a switch in an office. It involves operating multiple systems in order to establish or alter telephone service. The key to remember is that Prepaid service is NOT the same as Postpay and the prepaid industry requires certain restrictions since there is no credit check done to ensure the ability to recover charges from someone. It can cost a little more than a traditional company but with that said, the postpay industry usually requires deposits that the prepaid industry doesn't. No company can offer FREE service. There is always some type of exception or restriction. If there wasn't, a company would longer be a business...it would be a charity.

i previously ordered a home phone with all american home phone and i was denied because i did not want a freeze on my account. they told me that i had to put one on the line. i still refused and warned them its against fed. regulations to not lift a freeze. mainly these companies put a freeze on accounts so if you tery to switch to another provider and have a bill due they won't let you switch. OMG greedy people only out for money. as far as the free goes DUH NOTHING IS FREE IN THIS WORLD BUT GETTING SAVED.

Hi to all, I found out about this home phone service in the classified ads. The ad and the sales rep said that the first month is free. Well, they activated my phone on Mar. 13 and I received a bill on March 16 stating that my first bill was due on March 31 but will be disconnected on April 5th if not paid. How in the world can they even fixed their mouths to say that the first month is free when I only had the phone on for two weeks prior to the due date? Also, the phone line went dead a week before the bill was due for some reason. I kept calling and calling but it kept saying that all lines were busy and try back every 10-15 minutes. I never got anything done. Now they have my personal information and I want to know what can be done about it to protect my identity.

I have all american home phone as well. Of course my billed is paid because it is basically prepaid home phone service. For the past month every night about 10 until 10am the next morning I have no dial tone. I have called and spoke with them many times about this and at first they told me that there was a phone line down. then they told me that something was messed up inside my home. When i stated that I had already had my inside lines checked they stated they would run a test on my line. They said nothing was wrong but they would send a guy out to look at it. This has been over a week since they told me that and it still does not work at night. It is like they shut it off at night until morning. I should get a refund on the month I have already paid, since I cant use my phone half the time..
