A spa motor in my hot tub had gone out. I contacted Mr. Pete Alvarez for a quote for the replacement of the motor. Mr. Alvarez quoted a price higher than previous quotes, but gave a 1 year warranty on parts and service, so I decided to go with him. The price I was quoted for a rebuild of the motor, impeller and labor was $527.00. I paid an additional $60 for spa chemicals. Mr. Alvarez delivered and installed the motor and my roommates confirmed the motor worked. He then proceeded to start tampering with electronics unrelated to the motor. The hot tub does not work at all now. I suspect he shorted out the main control board. Mr. Alvarez said he would come back with additional tools to properly diagnose the problem. He never returned or delivered the chemicals. When I tried to reach him first by text message he responded with gibberish and said he was playing games. When I called him he said, "we are playing games now...I'll call you back". At this point I'm out $587.00 to Mr. Alvarez and I suspect he has done thousands of dollars worth of damage to my hot tub.
Bottom line: Do not do business with Mr. Peter Alvarez. He is dishonest and unprofessional.
