Aldi very poor

Aldi, you have the worlds most expensive food. Why? Because I have had to throw most of it away! Frankly I don’t understand how you getaway with it. My experience with Aldii/Carnivor in France was just the opposite – excellent there. But, then, they would not let you get away with selling garbage, now would they? The plum tomatoes were like easting tasteless red toothpaste. $2.00 wasted! The stakes were rubbery and tasteless. $4.71 down the drain.

The romaine lettuce was like old chewing gum, quite tough. $1.99 for garbage. The canned salmon was ok and I have yet to try the fish and canned herring. The spices and chopped garlic were ok, but certainly not work going out of you way. i guess you think all Americans are stupid and cannot taste. i also do not like the fact that you are taking advantage of poor people by locating your market sin or around low income area. I can hardly recommend you or you products.

Pity you do not give a contact number in the USA. Come to think of it, I understand why!

Actually, one of the Aldi's in our area in located in an upper middle class location, and it is always busy with folks from all across the economic spectrum. I love their store, and shop there nearly every week. We use the canned salmon, too, and it is great in recipes. I get their milk, eggs, black olives, bread, rolls, produce, especially the avocados, which are very low priced. I also like the ground chicken, and the sweet Italian sausage, and the turkey burgers. Their cheeses are very good, I always have my cheese drawer full for my family's late night snacks. Their pumpkins at Halloween were the cheapest anywhere, so I was able to get a lot of them. Their cappuccino in French vanilla is very tasty. Their version of Gatorade is pretty good. Their flour tortillas make good burritos or fajitas. I buy their pasta, canned tomatoes, canned black beans, baked beans, and their canned chunky soups are way better than the national brand, in my opinion. Their plastic "solo" cups are cheap enough to keep those around, so I don't have to wash so many glasses. Oh, and the chocolate they get in from Germany and Austria around Easter and Christmas is extremely yummy.

I like to try some of their new products, which aren't always the greatest, but I know that before I buy them, but I have found some new favorites that way, too. If you get a product, they have a double your money back guarantee, so take back the stuff you think is bad.

Aldi - Spoilage

For the last (6) six times I've purchased milk from Aldis at 76st and Ashland and also at 47th and Laflin. Both in Chicago, IL; the milk spoils within (4) four days. I just kept trying, to no avail!! My e-mail is [protected]@hotmail.com. James Searcy 9116 S. Laflin st 1st FL. Chicago, IL. 60620

Aldi customer service

I went into Aldi's at about 7pm 27 June 2011. I was checking out and the cashier would not let me see the prices that she was ringing up, she stated that she needs to watch the screen. I told her NO I was the one paying for them so I need to see the screen. Then I asked to Please DO NOT throw my food in the buggy, she continued on. I asked again DO NOT THROW my food, she continued. She finished ringing up and I told her she can re-ring it so I can watch the prices, instead of her. she closed out my sale pushed the biggy away and started checking out the next customer! She then called the manager, he came out and I told him what happened, he said that he would re-ring my food. I was watching her ring up the other customer and asked the manager why does she have to chunk the food in the buggy. He told me that she wasn't I told him that I m standing there watching and listening to the food drop in the buggy. Then he said that they have to ring up the customer fast. I told him that no he did not. He rang up my food and chunked it in the buggy. When he was through I told him to keep the sale and I was going to KROGER! I will NEVER go to Aldi's again. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH SUCH SORRY SERVICE! There are too many stores wanting your money! BRING BACK GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

How about filling the container to the top, these containers get less and less every time we buy. The price stays the same, so should the amount.
I would like a coupon for a free container, since every one has been shorted. I buy the 1lb. 14 oz size. Thanks.

I enjoyed the low prices but I bought a can of fruit salad and on the label it had a picture of cherries but there was not one cherry in the can. It was the brand of Sweet Harvest. It was good otherwise but I wanted a cherry or two.

Ugh the OP is such an annoying ###; Customer from hell! So self-absorbed and such feelings of entitlement. If you don't like the way your groceries are being handled, bag them and put them in your buggy yourself and stopped whining. Seems like the cashier should write a complaint about you and your ugly personality. LOL

I just came from Aldi's less than 2 hours ago and we bought canned goods there. All are okay. I have seen them just toss the products in the empty shopping cart without care. The next time before the cashier starts checking your groceries tell them that you will inspect your cans for dents and ask them to go replace them while you're bagging your groceries. I've found that letting people know up front that I'm not playing and that I mean business I usually have no problems with anything. I may come off as being a jerk but it's effective for me and it's my money! :)

Aldi customer service

i am so sick of some of these cashiers...I see that some of them work very hard, and are friendly, and others dont...
i have been to both locations...it seems that this same black lady at this high point rd. store is so hateful to me each and every time, like i have done something to her..she is rude to others as well... she does NOT make eye contact, she never speaks, she throws your stuff in the basket, she never ask if you want cash back on your debit, like the other cashiers do...she NEVER says, "thanks, or have a good day"...this has been going on for about 1 1/2 years now...i keep telling myself not to go back, but i like saving money, and i like the quality of the food...
she even hit my face one time with that chain on the buggy, while i was leaning down to change my case of water from one buggy to the next. NEVER EVEN SAID SHE WAS SORRY.. as a matter of fact, her and the black customer behind me, even laughed about it..! what is her problem..? why in the crap do they keep her there.? she does not even work fast like the others do...she actually acts like she doesn't even know what is going on around her..? she acts like she is about to fall asleep..she even wears that bluetooth phone on her ear, as well as talking on it while she is working..? why do they keep her there...does she have something on the manager or something..? i thought most companies would not keep the "bad employees around"...but rather have the ones that actually work hard, and are friendly to the public..?
guess that is the day and age that we live in..? it's pretty sad when you employees are running off your customers..!

I agree with the original poster. Just a "tiny" bit of customer service would be appreciated at Aldi, I'm sure.

I went there once and that was it. The store was dirty, crowded and the cashier (not the same one as the OP) was rude. It was worse than Wal-Mart, if you can believe it! That's all it took for me. I have not been back.

Honestly though, Aldi is extremely cheap and you don't necessarily pay for the customer service.

When I'm at a grocery store, I couldn't care less how the cashier acts. They're there to take your money, not entertain you. It's a ### minimum wage job, don't expect premium service. Lower your expectations and you won't be disappointed anymore.

Aldi lunch mate-honey turkey breast

I tried to contact Aldi twice by email waited days and have not even received a confirmation.
My original statement is as follows:
I made a sandwich with your Lunch Mate Honey Turkey Breast and bit on a chard of bone feeling like it almost broke my tooth. I felt like this was a rare occurrence that would not happen again.
A few days later I made another sandwich and found two more pieces of bone and this time I saved them.
I never had a complaint about an Aldi's product before and have been shopping with you ever since you opened in my area. But more care should be taken in the process of this product. I really have no ambition to finish the lunch meat.

I agree I notice this alot with this meat. My mom has bought me this in the past and throught the full package I can feel some kind of bone while chewing it. I told her to stop buying Aldi lunch meat... btw I LOVE 90% if Aldis products heck 9 times out of 10 there better than any other brand out there but I agree with you on this... as a matter of fact why I looked this up is cause she just bought another packed (and its been a while since I told her to stop buying it she must of forgot and picked one up this week) looked real good to be honest... but yes still I did find bone in my first sandwich! Aldis step up stop this!

Aldi disgusting food, selling past date

Unfortunately, the lady at the checkout counter at Aldi's "misplaced" my receipt. However, meat I bought on the 30th of January (I have a witness) is dated the 27th and they will not make good on it. I has an "off taste." i am not sure if it is the bad quality or the meat is tainted. In either case, I will not eat it.

Does anyone know anything about a company named The General Advocate Group? They are suppose to be a company that helps people who have been taken by companies who say they have a buyer for your timeshare ...they work on your behalf to get back the money you paid at a cost of 50% to you. You pay the cost only after you receive the money...there is no cost up front and none if they don't get your money back. They have an A- rating with BBB and it says they have only had one complaint against them. I would like to know if anyone else has dealt with them and your response before I commit any further. Thank you.

Exactly what stealth said. Stores DO NOT HAVE to take ANYTHING back. they could very well tell you to bugger off if they so choose. Every store has different conditions on returns. some stores don't do returns at all.. and please for the sake of intelligent brains everywhere.. PLEASE TYPE in some form of legible words. Doesn't even have to be English.. just something that someone somewhere can read..

Aldi lack of contact information

I think its very rediculas they have no way of contacting them in case of complaint/praise or questions.. I have searched and searched for a way to call or email Aldi's. I find it funny they dont seem to have any phones or have a customer service department that you can find.
I do love the prices and convenience of shopping at aldi. But i hate how they just toss your groceries into the cart without care. I got home from shopping there today to find that the pickles i bought had been open and leaked all over my other groceries ruining several boxes of food. The weather is really bad here and I think its crazy i have to drive back there just to ask if i may get a replacement for my food. why is there no contact numbers or at the very least email address listed ANYWHERE. hmm maybe they will claim it saves more money... who cares if your not satisfied and want to talk to someone who may be able to help rectify the situation... wtg aldi

I love Aldi's don't get me wrong. I was purchasing Pringles chips which are in a round container. The women threw the in my basket and they were most likely all crushed into pieces. They are definitely not careful about be gentle with your food after you buy it they literally throw it in the basket and I have bags. I try not to let things like that bother me. But since it has been mentioned in the comments quite frequently, I thought I would reiterate. It won't stop me from going their. I wonder why they are in such a hurry, It could be management or they don't get paid very much, therefore the employee probably do not care in the least. I don't blame them if that's the case. This store saves me at least half the price if I were to shop at Publix. I have stopped going there altogether. Very happy with most of their products. I am Leary, about the meat. Does anybody know where the meat is raised? I bought 2 pork roasts and they were fine. Thank you Aldi's, so very happy and wish I could buy stock in the Co. It says your privately owned, so I would imagine I cannot buy stock. I would because it's going to be a huge success. Already is., I live in Florida and they just this past year put in 2 stores within 1 mile to the South and 3 miles to the North, Live in Pompano Beach, FL Very happy Patron.

I don't believe you need to be so rude to anyone who has a right to make a complaint, tasha2. And, you told her she was an old fruit and gong to die soon, is a very mean thing to say. What will you think when you go to your next doctor's appointment and he/she says you have cancer? Surely you don't really believe your immature statements. And, where I live, we call women girls all the time. It isn't a plot to destroy your feminist rights.

Well, Tracy, sorry you have MS. Aldi has the bare minimum of everything. You pay a quarter for your cart, which you get back when you return it. You have to either bring your own bags, buy either paper or plastic from them, or just pick up one of those free boxes lying around, or you can just put your stuff into your car without a bag or box. If a cashier makes you feel you are putting her out, ask her to call the manager, and tell him just what happened, and let him know of your physical limitations. The store is wide open and can easily acommodate wheelchairs and scooter chairs; I see them all the time. But, there is no law saying they have to pay for wheelchairs or electric carts for customers. That may be something you have to take up with your insurance company; maybe see if they will cover your getting one. The great prices you get at Aldi more than make up for not having people cater to your every want, in my opinion.

I went to aldis today in coldwater michigan i have M.S and have a hard time using my hands as the MS has taken a toll i struggle walking, the store has no wheel chairs or electric carts so I struggle threw the store to get the cashier who is annoyed by the EBT card i have wont swipe so she is to punch in the numbers then comes the price of the two bags i bought came to 21 cents so i am getting in the change purse to get the 21 cents and the lady says make it faster i am getting 21 pennies in handful so i am counting them and she says make it quicker i say are you serious she says yep we dont take pennies in the sum of 21 cents i say for real and she says yep and takes the change and makes comments that they are on a timer i am asking for the tape to be played to show i wasn't taking a long time and found no reason to be treated like this . then the topper was to have such a hard time finding a number to call or report so i am assuming that the way they treat anyone is just ok.. that saddens me.

Houston, They would have to throw them pretty hard to dent them in that situation. However, why would you throw them out? unless they are leaking they are still perfectly good. SWOLLEN cans are a different matter! Possibly botulism! This is quite rare and a matter of huge concern to any store or producer involved. I have heard of shops that specialize in dented cans and I will buy them whenever I can because they are usually half price or even a flat 10 cents! each. As I said to someone earlier, I did find a website of ALDI's and they responded to my question (after a couple weeks) Sorry I dont remember the address, it was six months ago. Meanwhile, I would be very surprised if the store wouldnt take back the dented cans. P.S. the only downside of dented cans is they may squirt when you open them. Best Wishes.

I'm careful not to purchase any dented cans when I'm shopping. However, since the cashiers just throw the cans into the cart, there is no way to avoid dented cans. I have just thrown the dented cans away; however, there is no savings in doing so. I've found no way to contact Aldi in the U.S., which is also very frustrating. For a few cents more, I will simply shop Kroger for any canned goods or items that are easily damaged.

Pamela, months ago I DID find a complaint website for them and they responded a couple weeks later. I am afraid I dont remember how to reach it! Meanwhile, they finally opened their new store in Delray Beach in a previous Albertson's space. I got a flier/coupon in the mail and I gave it away as I didnt need 30 dollars of groceries to get the $5 discount. Sorry again, I think it had a phone number on it! Opening day didnt have alot of inventory but 5 days later it was better and I was pleased at some of the prices; 249 for a gallon of milk-hope its not an opening special. The canned vegs were all 49cents and Publix is twice that, 11 oz.chips were $1.39? and a lot of the produce was less than Publix/WinnDixie. The pre-packaged chicken was no deal but they had some deals on burger so my initial disappointment changed to optimism. The store is only half the size of the Albertson's and they seem to have one whole row dedicated to snack foods. (one out of five!) What I wanted to tell you was that the mgr and all the staff were extremely courteous and friendly and I was glad I went back the second time! Ah go on- give 'em another shot! Best Wishes, Rob Van

Since I can no longer purchase Lacura face cream at Aldi's, and am unable to reach anyone with questions about it, I don't shop there anymore. I refuse to hand over my hard earned money to a company that will not communicate with me . Don't like their off-brand items anyway.

1. I found a comment e-mail after a 10 minute search. march 8, 2011
2.John &Elaine--I dont know ANY stores that take a check on the first visit. What's wrong with carrying a little CASH with you?
3. Security guards are usually pushy, terse, and guys who got turned down by the Police force. Who else would want to do such a confrontational job? It's the same in the U.S..
4. The cashiers should NOT be throwing bags into carts. Complain to mgmt. and District mgmt as well.

No complaints here. I'm in Arkansas and go to Missouri to shop Aldies. It's about 30miles one way and with todays gas prices, Istill save money. I would really like to see an Aldies in Paragould Ar but don't have a contact number for Aldies to see what it would take for me to open a store here. I don't know if the stores are all company owned or not. Paragould is a town of 22000 and we could really use one.

Aldi bad service

I have nothing but praise for Aldis. No I am not an employee but an old WWII veteran who was raised by the old school teachings.--ie., be conservative and spend wisely. Learned these traits during the Greart Depression. I have never had a bad buy at Aldis. I'm very pleased to deposit a quarter, this very much assures me that customers will return their carts and not have them banging into my car. You can't beat their chocolate candy selections, most are imported from Austria and Belgium. My only complaint is they do not have enough cashiers.

Aldi locked in???

I visited my first AND LAST Aldi grocery store today. I picked up three items and went to check out. Finding myself behind six people, I experienced a personal emergency that wasn't going to wait behind six customers. I rushed to put back the items, went to leave, and there was NO EXIT OUT OF THE STORE BEYOND WAITING IN THE LINE AND GETTING CHECKED OUT. I eventually had to go UNDER a metal barrier between (all empty) checkout stands to get out of the store, and bumped my knee on the hard floor in the process! If I had been physically disabled, this would not have been an option. WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE?

Since when, outside of certain heavily regulated institutions such as a federal maximum security penitentiary, are visitors LOCKED INSIDE STORES? Someone not so nice who can't scramble under a barrier is going to need to get out someday, not via the checkout line. And perhaps someone ELSE might try to come down on Aldi for racial profiling--I'll bet a half of a grasshopper in a can of spinach (yes, I read this on another complaint site!) if I stopped by Aldis not located in Baltimore City, I could waltz in and out with ease. Oh, and if you want to contact them (I had ALL intentions of being civil, giving them a chance to explain) by phone or e-mail, hang it up; they only offer a SNAIL MAIL ADDRESS, PROMISING A TIMELY REPLY. BUT THEY SURE DON'T MIND ASKING OVER AND OVER AGAIN FOR MY E-MAIL ADDRESS! The year is 2010, and there is NO WAY ANYONE is going to tell me that it is more cost and manpower efficient for a corporation to receive SNAIL MAIL and respond to it than E-MAIL. GET WITH IT, ALDI.

In the future, I'll keep any discount grocery shopping I need to do for Save-A-Lot; it might not be the fastest place, but at least I can leave when I want to! And just so you know, Aldi, $2.69 for THREE LEMONS is NOT A DISCOUNT. THANK GOD FOR ETHNIC GROCERY STORES (IESPECIALLY NON-EUROPEAN).

Aldi - poor food quality

This is a copy of the letter that I sent to Aldi's Corporate HQ: Aldi www.aldi.com 2080 Main Street Batavia, IL [protected] November 27, 2009 To Whom It May Concern: My husband and I purchased some of your shrimp at the closest location to my home… 351 Logan Lane Baden, PA 15005. Aldi they dont order enough items

I am tired of going through aldi's adds and making a list of the things i want cause most of the time you go to get them at any of these locations you will not get what you are going for .. I live 30-40 minutes away from all these aldi stores so i have a drive to get there then when we get there none of the things i want are usually there. Then i drive to another one 30-40 minutes away and it is the same thing. I am usaully a very devoted shopper there but there is only so much you can take i am just about to become a walmart shopper at least they have the items they advertise.. a little tip for future add shoppers there dont get your kids excited about going there to get something they want in the add.

Aldi letter

I have been shopping at Aldis since they opened their store in Wausau Wil . I am not a double your money back guarantee, gimmick, sort of guy. However I think you should know when a customer is not satisfied and I am not.

Over the years I have been disappointed by the purchase cornflakes that turned your milk green (we ate them and they werent bad, but that is unusual), Sardines that were full of eggs, (they were really bad, like old crunchy caviar gone bad) threw away 12 cans of them, and spaghetti sauce that tasted like lemons(we threw that away with a pound of browned ground beef, a pound of sautéed mushrooms, chopped onion, and a chopped green pepper) and ate our spaghetti with butter that night. Over the years there has been dozens of products that were off a little, not just right if you know what I mean, but we ate them any way because we only went to town ounce a month and that was all we had.

I have raised 5 kids on Aldis food. They are all adults now, and say they would starve, before the would shop at Aldis. I still do but I am real careful about what I buy and I dont spend much.

I purchased a box of generic Bisquick from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. When I opened it today, I found that it and the box where infested with live bugs. Needless to say, I had to clean out my cupboard and threw away like $100 worth of food just to be safe. Ridiculous and disgusting!

You were reading a complaint about Aldi Grocery.

Filing a new complaint about
I was shopping at Aldi in Lancaster, Ohio today, we only have one location. I can never remember a quarter for the cart and rarely carry cash much less change. So, I long ago solved this problem by having a quarter with a hole drilled into attached to my key chain. I put it in, get my cart and when I am done shopping I put the cart back and viola! I have my keys back. In my opinion no harm no foul and I don't have to remember to bring a quarter. Meanwhile, today I am checking out the male manager starts to pull up another cart to put my groceries in. Now, my cart was empty and I was pushing it toward him so he didn't have to get up. I said no, my keys are attached too this one and I need for you to use it. Suddenly this man began screaming! "I don't ever wanna see this again, these devices cost a hundred dollars a piece! Don't you ever come into my store again and do this!" The whole store was crowded and everyone was looking as if I had done something wrong. I said "what is the problem?" He still very loud said "you jammed a key up in their, if you ever come back her and don't want to use a quarter come in and ask if someone will give you a quarter!" I was mortified and didn't not either want to start crying or punch the guy straight in the face so I hesistated, before I said anything. I said "you do realize that is real quarter in there and not a key?" If he'd bothered to look he would have seen that. His reply was, "well, just don't do it again in damages my carts". I was mad, I neeeded the groceries and didn't want to have to go elsewhere so I just let him ring me out and took them out the door. I didn't even stop to bag them in the store. I bagged them at my trunk and took the cart back. When I was taking the cart back so I could release the quarter along with my keys and older man stopped me and wanted to know what I did to have that guy act like an ***. I told him the story and showed him the quarter. He said if I were I'd march back in there and show that [censored] that quarter. So I did, he didn't apologize his only reply is don't do it again. I don't know what his problem is but, I will to continue to tell this story until I get an apology.

Me and my husband went to an Aldi for the first time on 12-11-10. Clermont Florida. My employee's raved about it and said prices where great. Why not we thought, so lets try it. First off the store is small we knew that, items are limited we knew that. Bag your own and pay for your cart, we knew that. So why the fuss? Well the customer service sucks! The cashier didn't speak a word to us, she was ringing stuff up so fast and throwing it into our cart. She never looked once over at the cart, she never paid attention to all the can goods, crushing anything important, nor did she notice my husband frantically trying to bag stuff as she kept hitting his hands with can goods. All said and done, we had 7 can items dented, chips crushed, crackers broken and a bruise on my husbands hand. In the end she said " one hundred ten dollers and thirtysix cent, slide your card there" That is all she ever spoke to us. It was a horrible check out experience. My husdand later said to me in the car. "Really to save a few bucks?" I compared recepits with Wal-Mart and it's really a few bucks we saved. I'll pay more just for the customer service. I don't think my husband will be going back.

I am an employee at Aldi and why I agree with 99% of what I've read so far I would like to put my 2 censt in. Why is it that any other company dont allow there managers to fratanize with there employess but at my Aldi only certain 2 cashiers play volleyball woth her, and the same 2 go to her house for girls night, and the same 2 dont like to work weekends or nights so the manager says we need to hire someone else. Or how about the poor girl who came in and ask the store manager for an application and she told her " we are not hiring right now but I can give you one" and the funny things is why if we are not hiring did we just have an interview the day before? Oh yeay thats because the interview was the assistant managers sons girlfriend. hmmmm more favortizim.

[protected] Customer Service number for ALDI. Wrote a letter to Aldi and they did a reverse look up on my address to find my phone number. They have now been calling 2x a day for the past four days and I have no interest in talking to them on the phone. They don't provide phone numbers for their staff yet they can stalk me down? They can write me a letter if they have something to say.

After being told by the surly cashier that it is Aldi's policy to throw the items for which I am about to give him money and that I am not being forced to shop at aldi's so I can go some place else...(this is not a lie!) I asked to speak to the manager..lo and behold, he was the manager and continued to be rude and uncooperative. after much searching, i did finally find a phone number for Aldi's Mr Juliet Division( located in Tennesee...I live in Al) on line and did speak to someone in customer service. look on your reciept to see what divison you are in and try searching with that information. fyi: [protected] Stephanie Watkins was very polite and promised she would have the district manager call me with 2 days. I am rethinking my loyalty to this store that has made it's owners billions of dollars. I don't need to buy cheap milk and butter all that badly and will save myself the inevitable trip to a real grocery store to pick up the items that they simply don't stock or i refuse to subject my family to...

I appreciate that value that one finds at Aldi's. Still, I would like to know the origon of some of the Aldi products. The toilet paper (12 rolls for $4.79) has bugs. I noticed little bugs crawling around my usually bugless floor. I put the remaining ten rolls in the bathtub for later inspection. Later, I discovered the teeniest, tinest bug...on only one roll but I'll keep looking and will probably purchase paper products elsewhere in the future. And, where oh where does the cat food originate?

I was just reminded by another complaint, Aldi is also very good at advertising things in their newspaper ads that don't seem to be in the stores when you get there. If they advertise a good deal on a camera, for example, don't count on seeing any in the store even if you go early. They always say "oh we had them, but the sold out immediately". I wonder if they only had two of the items in stock.

Aldi warranty on televisions

On August 29, 2006 I bought a Magnum 42" Plasma Television with a three year warranty from Aldi in Spain. On October 13, 2008 the television lost it's picture and the odor of smoke appeared to come from the back of the television.

I contacted Magnum Service Center as required by the warranty only to be told that these TV's have a problem and the parts are not currently available, but that they would order a delivery company to collect the television in the next weeks about a collection date. A month later, I have no television and no pick=up date has been given. Surely I am due a refund from Aldi for selling a defective product with problems that seem to be unrepairable. service?
