How responsive is Albertsons's customer service?

Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how Albertsons handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Albertsons and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Albertsons store in mccall idaho bringing in pharmacy forces closure of local drugstore

Albertson's decision to bring in a pharmacy at their "new" store (site of former Pauls Market in McCall), is causing the long time local drugstore to close it's doors because there is realistically not enough business to support three pharmacys in the small town. McCall Drug is one of the few local businesses that stayed in the downtown corridor when all others bailed or turned into silly tourist gift shops.
Alberstons has a good piece of the pie in the grocery business and did not need to be greedy by bringing in Savon. SHAME on the corporate decision.
I am a 6th generation Idahoan and have lived in McCall for 40 years. Until now, I have had a fairly good opinion of Albertsons, but this overt greediness which will cause a good small local business to close, is completely unacceptable.
Fortunately, there is another grocery store in town and I will order my drugs online, so I do not have to set foot in your McCall store anymore.
It is clear that Albertson's doesn't care about being a " good neighbor" in our small town. It's greed is causing the demise of a local, much-valued business.

Albertsons employees harassing customers

This is a formal complaint against two employees of Albertsons in Billings, Montana; Paris Delt and Ginger Beasley. One Ginger Beasley the butcher tried to attack me in the store on, Central and Montana Ave, and Paris Delt an employee from the Albertsons on 27th and 6th Ave followed me home from the store. On 1/29/17 at approx 3:00pm both employees came to my home trying to get me to come outside. Both employees ran when I threatened to call police. The store had been notified of this harrassment prior to them arriving at my home. These employees have made me fearful about shopping in the store and now even at my home I am uncomfortable because I don't know if or when they may return.

A formal complaint is something you do at the police department, not on a general public website. Why were these 2 people trying to attack you?

Albertsons cashier's inappropriate political conversation

I dropped into my local Albertsons after a long night at work, as I often do, to purchase flowers for my parents' anniversary. There were perhaps two other customers in the store, one cashier, and his bagging assistant. I took the flowers to check out and stood behind a gentleman who was in the process of paying.

The conversation between the cashier and this customer made me very uncomfortable. The cashier's comments were demeaning to women, to President Obama, and particularly to anyone who recently exercised their 1st Amendment right to free speech by marching and protesting against what can fairly be described as a divisive election.

The cashier and the customer were in agreement about the topic of discussion, and I can't say how the conversation started because I was not present at that moment; however, the cashier appeared to have let his guard down by the time I was in line, and appeared oblivious to the fact that there might be others who would take offense to his comments, such as:

"All the women's march did was create trash"

"8 years of Obama, and I never [complained on the job]"

"People should suck it up and get over it"

At best, these comments are insensitive; at worst, misogynistic, ignorant, and wholly inappropriate.

I think it would be prudent to remind employees to be more mindful of their conversations during business hours, particularly when customers are present. I will certainly go out of my way to avoid this store in the future, as I do not appreciate my grocery store clerk causing my blood to boil.

Furthermore, such comments from an employee (likely a manager) wearing your company's uniform, and acting in the scope of duty, gives the appearance that the company condones his behavior and views. I certainly never thought of Albertsons as closed-minded before, but now I can't say I won't ever make that association.

Had there been an equally convenient place to purchase flowers at that time of night, I surely would have returned the flowers to the bin and walked out without making a purchase.

That very well might be the last time I spend my hard-earned money at your store.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
Zohaile Kakavand

Albertsons animals in the store on carefree highway in tramanto, az

I just wanted to report what I found very disturbing while at Albertsons around 1 pm yesterday. I was shopping and a big Great Dane (unleashed, and not a service dog) came around the corner in the aisle. After a good 15 minutes of watching the dog wander, usually with his owner close by, but again never on a leash and not a service dog, this dog walked up to a number of strangers and the owner did nothing to stop it. The cashiers and workers all seemed to know "Butkis" and his owner Jerry as they apparently come in regularly and wander the store. This dog's head is higher than the level of the produce that sits open, and while I wash all my produce, I was still grossed out by the health violations resulting from an unleashed dog wandering the store, not to mention the liability issues if it were to bite a customer while allowed to roam free. I have a sister that is terrified of dogs, and I can only imagine the scene that would have resulted if she was alone and it had walked up to her. None of the employees seemed to think there was anything abnormal about a large dog walking the store unleashed, is this something that is acceptable? I would appreciate an answer, and would like to see animals - unless properly identified service animals not be allowed in a store where I buy food for my family. (There is no possibility that this was an unidentified service animal as I know they are trained to stay with and take care of their owner and would never walk away and up to every stranger that happened to walk by).

Albertsons lack of bike rack

Hi, I and others have requested bicycle racks be installed at the Albertsons Government Street location here in Baton Rouge, LA many times over the past couple of years. The store director has stated he would get some installed but it seems he has no intention of actually doing this. Many people in this neighborhood ride bikes and shop at this store. There is ample room for racks to be installed. Racks are not prohibitively expensive for a company of this size. Please see that racks are installed as soon as possible. I know several people who refuse to shop here because of the store's refusal to accommodate them. Ultimately, installing bike parking will be good for business. Thank you.

Albertsons treatment of employees

I will not continue to support a company that does not value their long term employees. On 1/19/17, I shopped at your store and was checked out by one of your long term employees. She has been a gracious and courteous person and I look forward to seeing her when I stop by to shop on my way home. I mentioned that it was my "Friday". She said that it was also hers and that she had worked the past 7 days but still had not met a 40 hour work week. I am troubled that your company does not value your long term employees.

Albertsons management

I was recently at the Albertsons in San Marcos Ca.I was stopping in to grab cash at the wells Fargo and grab a Starbucks. The barista messed up my order and made my drink with dairy milk which i have an allergy too.But she was great and told me sorry and offered to make me another and i politely declined as her line was long and i had to be somewhere. The manager had to come and give me a refund for my drink. She had no customer service skills she was angry no hi no bye no you're welcome. She came up to the register and what do you need? very rude in my opinion. This Albertsons is close to my home and a more affordable option for my family.I will happily be going to sprouts for my shopping from now on.

Albertsons cashier

January 1st 2017

Hello! On January 1st of 2017 I had went to the albertsons located at 220 E Bonita Ave, San Dimas, CA 91773. As I was checking out (I had bought a bag of chicken at the deli) the cashier named Jessie did not put the chicken in my basket (I was unaware of this as I was paying). I know it was a simple mistake, however I did pay for the items. When I had realized that my items were missing, I was already home. But I went back to the store to get my items, and Jessie had already left. There was only 1 other person working the floor and when I asked them about it, they were of no help because my reciept was not given to me by Jessie.

Albertsons employee disregard for customers

Tonight at the Albertsons on Ryan Street in Lake Charles Louisiana. I was standing in. Long line at around 730 pm as there was only one checkout open. An employee of the store called one of the cashiers, who was on the floor stocking, or he could have even been a supervisor and whispered (not discreetly )I might add to check her out so she would not have to wait in line. He did. She proceeded to grab her things say goodbye to the cashier who's line we were waiting in and leave. I waited to see if the man would see our faces of disbelief and offer to check us out but he did not. Albertsons this is not very professional.

Albertsons wic customer service

I was cashing in my Wic checks and the cashier made a rude comment saying, " I think the machine should only print out coupons if you're actually buying something." This happened around 9 pm and she had grey hair. I believe her name was patti but I am not sure. There was no need for her comment. If she felt this way then she could have kept it to herself. She knows nothing of my situation nor is it any of her business. It was overall very unprofessional.

Albertsons delivery

I live close to Tom Thumb and am therefore unable to order delivery from Albertsons. Tom Thumb does not offer the same sale prices so I really don't have a delivery option. Disappointing.

I think I should be able to order from either store even if the groceries will be pulled at the closest store.

Thank you for your attention to my situation.

Albertsons experience in store today

While checking out, it occured to me that the amount was incorrect i politely asked the cashier (Mary, no employee #) to check to make sure that my coupons had come off, i use the Just For U application every week and apply my coupons days before entering the store. I entered my coupons on Nov 30th on the app. The cashier became rude and said she did not know anything about it and called over the manager. I did not catch the male managers name but he was also rude and asked for my phone to prove that i had indeed selected the coupon (15$ off purchase of $100 or more.) I had left my at home so i was unable to provide it. He regrettfully gave me the discount stating that "anyone could just say they had one." I have a screenshot of the application showing my coupon that i could send in as well. Not to mention being charged twice for a can of Beef Ravioli and not honoring that coupon as well. The manner in which I was treated was completely unnecessary. Perhaps Mary needs another traibing course? Ive never had issues with any other employees or redeeming my Just For U coupons (that I spend hour selecting every week). Any help you could provide would be very appreciated.

Albertsons expired and rotten food.

We live in Vista CA and have shopped at our local Albertsons for more than two years. I should also mention that I own a Vending business and have bought all my Soda products in this store at the volume of 100 cases a week.

My wife and I had our first poor experience with a Rotisserie Chicken that upon opening at home we discovered was half eaten on one side and completely dry and... on the other. We returned the chicken with little sympathy from the store manager. His only request was that we did not contact cooperate due to the fact it would deeply impact his Job, so of course we did not. Refund received and we moved about our day.

Second issue, I stooped by to pick up 20 cases of Soda for the business and decided to grab some Granola made by Albertsons. On the way home without looking at the container I started eating the Granola, noticing it was a bit chewy but not paying much attention. Upon my arrival home my wife looked at the expiration date at noticed it was 3 weeks past! Thats rite, 3 weeks expired at the time of purchase. Again talked to the store manger, we were asked once again not to contact cooperate, refund received.

The most recent incident, my wife bought 2 LBs of ground beef packaged by Albertsons the previous day. when I proceeded to open the meat that night I found the center to be rotten, green and brown! Thats rite, not on the outside but in the middle. I sold food for years and have a clear understanding of what fresh and rotten meat looks like. Once again we contacted the store manger and received the same response. This is obviously a store wide issue and I will be sending my pictures and complaints on to the USDA and consumer affairs.

Please beware of the food you purchase, eat and cook from this store. See pic below.

Albertsons manager customer service

Date 11/21/16, 10:55pm
M.O.D- Sonja
Location: 9650 Airline Hwy
[protected]
I walked in the store at exactly this time before closing and I ran in to buy a few alcoholic beverages for my home. I had two other people with me in the store and they walked over to the liquor section with me. They were giving me suggestions on what to buy and I was indecisive but in the midst of that, the manager Sonja walks over and goes "Um, mam its 11:00, we close at 11" with an attitude in her tone. But we apologized and said okay we are on our way out. I was the guardian responsible for the two people with me because I was their ride home from a birthday dinner. Because they were not of age to purchase I told them just wait for me to check out and ill be done in a minute. So they waited by the door and I instantly hear the manager spark an argument with them as I'm checking out. She had a very rude tone and insinuated because one of them "touched" the bottle, that they may have even been attempting to steal! So when she was yelling "Where are the bottles !" The cashier and I showed her that I was paying for them and then she insisted on carding everyone present. So at this point I was highly frustrated because the machine was processing payment as we were standing there and it was obvious no one was capable of doing anything because we were the only people in the entire store! This manager then argued with me about carding them when I kept it no secret they were not old enough to purchase, they were not involved in anything concerning the alcohol and for that reason she should not have been acting in such an unprofessional manner. Some disciplinary action needs to take place because this is not the first time I have encountered bad customer service at this store, but this is the first time I have encountered this situation and if anyone needs to speak with me, please feel free to email me [protected]@outlook.com

Albertsons cashier: julie p / term: 3 / store: 6524 / oper: 117 / cashier name: julie p

I was at the check out stand and the cashier, Julie P, began conversing with customers both ahead and behind me. The conversation was in reference to Donald Trump and those that were against his presidential win. All three (cashier and 2 customers) were ranting about how great it was that he won and those that were angered by it should leave, it was not their country and his win was the best thing to happen since Bush. the conversation narrowed down to a racist rant that incited all three participants.

I will NOT inform you of my nationality, race or ethnicity as I do not see the importance is such details. What I will tell you is that as a paying and frequent customer of Albertsons, going to the grocery store every morning is neutral and the last thing customers want to hear is an employee of this large chain engage in racist, fascist and bias conversation. Just as I do not want to go to my bank, gas station or movie theater and hear that the employees are referring to "opposing and minority" clientele should leave the country. Not to say that employees should not have an opinion or theirs does not matter, I would just prefer to not hear about it as I am paying for my groceries from a neutral place. Keep your opinions at home or where you deem it proper, but I guarantee that the CEO or those in high standing with this company would feel the same.

There are times and places where freedom of speech violate other people's privacy and space and no one ever addresses that. This was not the proper time or place, especially in a business that caters to the public, for such rhetoric to be used outload in front of consumers, because some people will be offended by it. However, I find the person who posted this complaint to also be offending and is as guilty as those he or she is complaining about because they are insinuating that anyone who voted for Trump is a fascist, racist, bias individual. The ones who usually make those claims are the true fascist, racist, bias individuals.

@Wine Is Good: the employees's conduct was disgraceful. While they do have free speech rights, they were on the job and dealing with the public. If I was an Albertson's manager who witnessed their behavior, I would've fired them. I hope the OP filed a complaint with Albertson's.

Albertsons multiple expired products

I shop at the Albertson's on Perkins Road in Baton Rouge quite frequently. I have never had an issue with the store until recently. Last week (11/8/16) as I went to check out the cashier was scanning one of my items and realized it had already been opened. Last night (11/14/16) I bought a few things and noticed after I had gotten home the buttermilk I had purchased expired in two days (11/16/16) but thought nothing of it because I was using it for a recipe that night but it smelt awful and was noticeably ruined. Also the coconut water I had purchased expired in March 2016. I have also picked up packages of spaghetti/ guacamole/taco seasoning mixes that are past the expiration date that I have put back. Again, I have always been pleased with shopping here but this is unacceptable. I have attached photos below. I hope you take this complaint into consideration.

Albertsons cashier's

Albertsons on newport st, santa ana ca 92707.
Im Hispanic and if I walk in with my wife, to see what I like to buy. I don't appreciate your cashier following me like if I'm a criminal. Or appreciate her screaming 10yards away from me and my wife with her tone of voice saying "Do you need help " after she was following me around. If she is a cashier she should be at her work station taking care of the customers and not making me feel like I'm stealing something. Me as a customer have not felt so embarrassed in my life since that morning. Please make sure all your employees are all train properly to learn how to speak to people and not make them feel like they are going to steal. Please go back and have them train properly or send them to classes to learn how to deal with people of all color amd races.
Thank you for your time.

She was doing her job therefore she was trained properly. The only people who get offended by people doing their jobs are those with something to hide. In most stores, cashiers do not just stand at a register. They are required to do other tasks, and asking someone if they need help is one of them. Just look at this site at all the complaints about 'the cashier did not greet me' or 'the cashier did not offer to help me'.

Don't be such a rude person. I bet if you have a job you are required to do things customers may not like or understand.

Albertsons servicemen

I've been shopping at your store at 8410 Farm road in Las Vegas, NV for the last ten years. I liked this store because it's clean and spacious and I can usually find everything at an affordable price. I'm there every week and spend about $200-$300 in groceries for my family. The checkers are the nicest people but the floor personnel need training in customer service. One time I needed some juice a stocker was putting up and I asked if I could get one. He huffed and looked irritated I was bothering him. I was kinda taken aback that he'd act that way. I was at the service deli to ask for a sandwich platter and the woman there told me to go to their website instead. I went out of my way to order that at the store and there wasn't even any other customer there at the time. I'm surprised she acted like I was a bother instead of helping me! This was on previous visits. I don't normally worry about it because I understand that they are busy. But this has gotten to be a normal thing now to feel disdain from your employees. Today was the last incident and I'm kinda irritated now. I went to the non food area to get some formula. The female stocker was right there next to the locked case and she said she has the key. I asked for her help and she told me to get the item also available at the front counter. I don't get it. There was a perfectly good one inches away and she has the key, why send me to the front? I was with a crying baby and a toddler and I just needed help. I have twenty other things on my mind to do Why give me an extra step?i don't know what's wrong with this store but there's a perfectly good Smith's next to me and I can just as well go there instead. I've been a faithful customer and I've never complained or put up a fuss. But now I'm just plain insulted! I hope you speak to your people about being nice. Going out of their way to be lazy or insolent just isn't right. That kind of experience stays with a person.

Albertsons grand re opening

The first month was great. Second month quality on some items began falling off. This is month 3 and boy, you need to go back to at least what you had for my last 6 years of shopping. Spent 70$ every Friday for 2 months on Sushi. Now they have changed ingredients. No cream cheese or mayo in several of the special rolls, no hot sauces etc, rice is very dry, nori is thick and not prepared at all like it was. Sushi must be prepared right, not by after school kids who don't know what they don't know. More training? This is a grocery store, the deli should have fresh hot food to buy right? The Deli sucks. After 4 visits to get mashed potatoes and gravy for the fried chicken today i gave up and went to chicken express for the sides.. I have been buying fried chicken from Albertsons for over 15 years. Today it was small realllllly greasy and not done. My fresh strawberrys just put out by the produce guy were molded when i got home in the middle. Couldn't find any chocolate cake at all out of at least 50 new pastry items. What happened to the delicious sheet cakes and bundt cakes you used to have. I bought them every week.Overall produce has taken a dive. Under stocked, what is there the quality is poor, herbs, tomatoes and even the bagged salads are out of date or only have one day left, and simply old. No more mango salsa or pico i used to buy every week without fail with the chips and quacamoli. Displays look beautiful but if the produce is too old what difference does it make? A bag of onions i bought Texas Sweets last week on Thursday is already molded. I purchased Miracle Whip last week and it was expired yesterday? What happened to the shelf life of your staple products? Milk from Oak Farms out of date on Thursday, even tortillas were out of date on the end cap in front of the meat cabinet. Come on guys tortillas can last a month where is the fresh stuff. I needed a bud vase with one rose for church 2 weeks ago, the cheapest vase in the case was 28.00 really...And the 3 white roses in it were wide open and the water in the vase was so low the flowers couldn't drink..What happened to all the beautiful bokays you you used to have for $19.00. The cheapest for weeks has been $25 and they have less flowers and the mix is not really pretty. No more packages of greens to go with just bunches either. I had flowers in my home weekly for at least 5 years, i usually buy a mixed bunch with a bunch of baby's breath or greens...they don't even carry that stuff anymore. Even the plants are priced too high. A 4 inch kalanchoe in foil paper was $19? A 6 inch was $30 really, i can order better than that from a florist and have it delivered. I guess for this area, it's hard to find good help, but you used to have friendly people, better quality everything, and customer service was the bomb...In rural America somethings shouldn't ever change.

Just very disappointed i have shopped at Albertson's somewhere in the DFW region for over 25 years. Up here it seems there is not a way to maintain quality of product, staff, or supply.
