Airtel customer care does not exist

I have been using Airtel for the past 5 years and now I'm trying to reach Airtel customer (past 5 hours) service and every time I try the line gets disconnected. I have tried the same on various phone lines and nothing goes through and every time it gets disconnected when the voice recorder says that it would put me through a support rep.
I really disappointed with the customer service offered by Airtel, Every Airtel customer that I talk to reports the same problem and some has never reached customer care in months.
Please take necessary action on the same.

Do you know how many Value Added Services(VAS) are fixed on your mobile number by mobile company without your consent ?
Airtel Mobile company is fixing/applying unwanted VAS on your mobiles & you may or may not know.
This is one of the secrets of above question.
Many customers including senior citizens visit my shop daily to get their mobile recharged. They have been complaining always about deductions by the mobile companies. Among all of these I found a customer (Age 70 Years) of Airtel on whose mobile Airtel Company has applied a record number of SIX VAS such as Facts 55382, Job Alerts, Airtel Call Manager, Karwa Chauth Pack, Kareena Kapoor, All Cricket Pack.
Airtel company has been deducting a huge amount from his credit balance every month mercilessly. ( For proof I have images of his screen)
*Suppose for example you or any of your friend/known have an Airtel mobile connection.
You can check it like this.
1. Send ' STOP' to 121
(HAVE YOU SENT)...OKAY
You will get back a message like this if their is a VAS on you mobile.
"The following services are active on your mobile. To reply type the serial number of the service that you wish to 'STOP' "

2...
3...
4...
5...
6...& so on
You can know from above message that how many VAS are applied on your mobile by the company. If you want to STOP these services then follow the steps.
REPLY '1'
You will get one more message from the company to confirm again.
REPLY '1'
Follow these steps untill you get a message that.
" Kindly note there are no services active on your Airtel number."
*After this send one more message to activate DND like this
'START space 0 to 1909'
You will get a message to confirm
Reply 'YES'

Airtel balance deduction

I have a prepaid Airtel connection with the number [protected]. I have already faced twice the unauthorized deductions on account of some services which were not requested by me or by my choosing or dialing any number.
But since yesterday, the Airtel people have gone a step ahead and not only diminished my balance on account of usage of GPRS which is not activated by me and I use wi-fi for internet connectivity but also bringing the balance to a negative figure by themselves activating the Hello Tunes service and also changing the songs with the result that now I am unable to contact even the complain helpline 198.

Airtel verification

I got a prepaid sim from airtel on 12/05/2011 & the no. is [protected].I got a verification call on 14th & the lady asked me what was my fathers name & I told her my fathers name.The id proof i had given was my car driving license & i have my husbands name on it. On 23rd I rec'd an sms stating "we were unable to verify details of ur airtel no.thru telephone verification & that my no.will be restricted." when i called the customer care, they said there was a problem in the telephonic verification & it did not match.I gave another copy of my id proof to the dealer & he went to airtel office personally only to know that my sim has been barred from services.WHOEVER calls up for verification should be EDUCATED to atleast ask whose name is given in the id proof & then ask for the name & not to take things for granted...Now we are at a fix for NO fault of ours...pls advice what has to be done ...

Airtel deactivated my number without intimation

I have been using airtel prepaid ([protected] taken in bangalore) connection for 3 years for last 1 year most of the times I was in roaming, however I used to maintain balance just make sure the mobile is active even in raming. All of a sudden whem my mobile balance reached o thc connection got disonnected. Initially I thought it was due to signal problem but later I found that my moble no was disconnected. When I talked to customer care which is of no use. They simply hung up the call mentioning that my number is deleted.. I am not sure that issue but I want my mobile no back..

Airtel not working

Our landline is not working.
Airtel people have not responded to several email sent at [protected]@airtel.in.

Even everytime I speak with customer care they say somebody will get back to you. But its never done.

I am just amazed that from friday the connection is down and people have not cared to provide any status or update even when I am chasing their so called back end.

So the customerservice is very bad.

Please look into the matter

Airtel bad service

Hi,
We have raised request on 28th of last month for the transfer of connection to
new location which in within circle of less than 1km but till now no response
has been observed.Due to this we are not able to use IPTV, landline and
broadband.A number of request has been raised till now kindly investigate and
expedite the process and adjust the bill for the time where services is not
used.

Airtel pathatic quality of services

Hi,
I, Jatinder Ahi, would like to highlight the extremely pathatic quality of services that Airtel Broadband provides to their customer. I ordered a new connection to the company more than a week back, getting guranteed activation of services, installation within 2-3 days however till date, services have not even started, despite of various follow-ups. This is not even the bad, but the worst kinda experience.
Even while filling the new application form, I requested for a new model, for which Airtel was supposed to charge full amount from me, however I was shocked when Airtel people sent me a model saying its New, where it was repaired recently...
I really would like to inform Airtel about their product quality, and asking them to immediately take action on this.

Airtel seemed to be very big company setting models in almost all domains. But i think the brand name is all fake. The customer service is pathetic.
It seems so hopeless that i am not even sure if this complaint would do any benefit altogether. But at least it might calm my anger on the service they provide. We have a broadband connection from airtel. When we called them first time, saying that we wish to have their broadband connection, they would entertain too much and rush to get a customer on their list. But once you have become one, they would forget you altogether. I think this is against all market ethics. The airtel connection we have is so unreliable that it stops working any day any time. We have called them many times, each time they send incompetent technicians who would just come, show their face and leave without any solution. When we said that it was a more complex problem, and an engineer is required to debug, they say that executive service is paid. What hell, We are already paying for a connection which is not working up to expectations and then want added money to do what they promised when they were installing the connection. If their customer care support cant handle so many customers they should maintain as much as they can handle. Stop having new customers with such poor service.

This event has totally shaken my faith from brands. Its all, "Badi Dukan, phike pakwan" sort of scenario.

Dear Sir,
My name is Tushar Shinde and my Airtel number is [protected] since last 7 years. My complaint is regarding providing unwanted services and deducting huge amount from my prepaid balance. Services (such as astrology, video chat) which I don't want are imposed on me and thereby deducting huge amount from my balance.

Airtel failed to activate my number after porting

Urgent/most immidiate

Reference complaint no. : cdamn20514654482 and cmopro30511381802

I switched from vodafone to airtel, on 5th may 2011 and received a confirmatory message about the activation of the services on the 10th may 2011. For last 7 days, I am unable to receive or send any call, despite repeated complaints to customer care. Every time the supervisor (Mr amitabh and mr harpreet) informed that the matter will be resolved but there is no result.

I am really surprised, if at this stage I am receiving such a customer care response from airtel, what type of services you are going to provide in future.

I have provided this number to some important customers from whom I am expecting some business calls. The non receipt of these calls may give me heavy losses. I therefore request an urgent action maybe taken to restore my connection without further delay.

in my airtel no [protected] in not able to deactivate airtel frenzo which is charging 25 f0r 15 days.even after calling ti customer care and sending msg to 121 as stop .they are not able to .so pls deactivate the service as soon as possible andgive my deducted amount..ive called airtel customer care 2 times n they r not able to deactivate it...

Airtel fake offer to retailers and debiting amount from their recharge balance

I am Airtel retailer from Tamil Nadu. Today morning I have received a call from [protected] airtel number and that person claimed that he is calling from Airtel Mumbai office, asked about my e-recharge balance initially and told that I am eligible for Rs.2500 e-recharge bonus which will credited by Airtel Mumbai and this has no connection Airtel Tamilnadu. Then he had asked me to do a test transaction the below way to get my number registered with them.

I should go to e-recharge menu and easy charge -> Recharge -> customer number to be [protected] -> Amount has to be "01000", he mentioned by putting "0" before will not deduct any money from my e-recharge balance.

I have done the transaction (ID: [protected]) and 1000 rupees gone from my e-recharge account. He disconnected the call immediately.

Then I contacted retailer helpdesk 404 and registered a complaint with them and they told they will get back to me in a while but I haven't received any response so far. I even tried to get my money back through Wrong EC retrieval but 404 CC told it is not possible for other state numbers!

I want to take my hard earned money back some how from that fraud airtel number, could you please help me in this regard?

Hello All,

I cannot agree with the resolution provided.

Airtel Presence claims that they cannot refund my amount (Rs.1000/-) and asked me to file a FIR complaint against that fraudulent Airtel number. Even if I raise FIR or not, a person from Airtel presence confirmed that they cannot refund my money! I don’t know what's the use of raising FIR then!

One thing I am not understanding here is, all the Airtel pre-paid numbers comes under one cloud called "AIRTEL customers", I don’t know how the states within India making differences (Airtel says that state to state wrong EC transfer is not possible). Are they claiming by state wise customers count when they say they got 10lakh customers, etc, .? NO..

But when it comes to fraudulent activities like this, AIRTEL is not ready to help retailers/Customers to take back their money. AIRTEL is not ready to help customers when they are in problem, they don’t understand one's agony after a loss like this!

Bottom line, we all work for money and not sure why Airtel is not understanding that! When one of its customers is suffering a loss, it should assist maximum and should capable of satisfying them. They shouldn't leave them just like that.

At least implement a policy to help a retailers/customers like me, implement some new policies in your Airtel cloud please. We retailers accumulate our profit with very little percentage, penny by penny and losing 1000 rupees at a shot is a big loss for us, someone from Airtel should understand it just by standing on our side for a moment.

I am Airtel retailer from KOTA(RAJASTHAN) . 25.07.2012 TIME 10.15 morning I have received a call from [protected] airtel number and that person claimed that he is calling from Airtel Mumbai office, asked about my e-recharge balance initially and told that I am eligible for Rs.1290 e-recharge bonus which will credited by Airtel Mumbai and this has no connection Airtel RAJASTHAN. Then he had asked me to do a test transaction the below way to get my number registered with them.

I should go to e-recharge menu and easy charge -> Recharge -> customer number to be [protected] -> Amount has to be "01000", he mentioned by putting "0" before will not deduct any money from my e-recharge balance . HE GAVE HIS MPIN NO.1213 .
I TOLD HIM IF I PUT MY MPIN NO. IT WILL RECHARGE YOUR MOBILE NO. HE TOLD NO SIR OK YOU DO ONE THING YOU JAST PUT THIS 1213 PIN OK . I TOLD HIM IT OK . I DONT KNOW THAT IF I NOT PUT MY MPIN NO THEN HOW IT IS POSSIBLE .

I have done the transaction (ID: [protected]) and 1000 rupees gone from my e-recharge account. AND THEN HE SEND A MESSAGE THAT YOUR ACCOUNT FILLED WITH RS 1290 TOTAL BALANCE 2314. Airtel cheating / defrauding

Hi Buddy is a cheating service and Airtel is a party to it. They advertised in the Times of India asking us if we will vote against corruption and for Anna Hazare" We were supposed to sms a certain number which i did. Immediately i got an sms saying that Rs. 15/- is being deducted because i "subscribed to Hi Buddy" to it. Later I saw the fine print --very tiny at the bottom of the ad mentioning the Rs. 15 and the deductable subscription. The ad was deliberately mischievous and misleading because apparently we were just supposed to vote for Lokpal Bill and against corruption. This was last month. Now again this month they have deducted Rs. 15/----it has become a monthly feature now. I am sure a Public Interest Litigation should be filed against Hi Buddy for cheating people; misusing and sabotaging a great cause. Airtel/ Hi Buddy, unsubscribe immediately!

I am shocked to hear from u (which u have written 12 hours ago) that i haven't written. Is it a deliberate policy at Airtel to be deaf?---to delay resolution of a problem so that Airtel makes more illegitimate money meanwhile? I have given u details atleast twice and u say u haven't heard from me. Do u want me to write on 12 complaint boards to be heard?

Thanks for the reply. Please unsubscribe me from "Hi Buddy" which i never asked for. The advertisement was highly deceptive and misleading with an intent to entrap unsuspecting persons into becoming customers for a service even if they didn't want to. Rs. 30 have been deducted from me for nothing---not something that i asked for! Why does Airtel behave like a Thug or fly-by night operator?
Please stop it immediately and confirm that u have unsubscribed me.

Do you know how are they doing so ? What is the secret?
One more question.
Do you know how many Value Added Services(VAS) are fixed on your mobile number
by mobile company without your consent ?
Mobile companies are fixing/applying unwanted VAS on your mobiles & you may or
may not know.
This is one of the secrets of above question.
Many customers including senior citizens visit my shop daily to get
their mobile recharged. They have been complaining always about deductions by
the mobile companies. Among all of these I found a customer (Age 70 Years) of
Airtel on whose mobile Airtel Company has applied a record number of SIX VAS
such as Facts 55382, Job Alerts, Airtel Call Manager, Karwa Chauth Pack,
Kareena Kapoor, All Cricket Pack.
Airtel company has been deducting a huge amount from his credit balance every
month mercilessly. ( For Proof I have Images of his mobile screen )
*Suppose for example you or any of your friend/known have an Airtel mobile

connection.
You can check it like this.
1. Send ' STOP' to 121
(HAVE YOU SENT)...OKAY
You will get back a message like this if their is a VAS on you mobile.
"The following services are active on your mobile. To reply type the serial
number of the service that you wish to 'STOP' "
1...
2...
3...
4...
5...
6...& so on
You can know from above message that how many VAS are applied on your mobile
by the company. If you want to STOP these services then follow the steps.
REPLY '1'
You will get one more message from the company to confirm again.
REPLY '1'
Follow these steps untill you get a message that.
" Kindly note there are no services active on your Airtel number."
*After this send one more message to activate DND like this
'START0 to 1909'
You will get a message to confirm
Reply 'YES'
You can port from Airtel to other service provider by sending a message

Airtel overbilling

Sir, I am Stanley Sampath Kumar, having Airtel Broadband connection with a fixed landline No.080 [protected] since May 2008. The fixed line is not functioning for more than six months. But for the last couple of months I am receiving bill which includes voice charges. I am not paying for the call charges. However, I am paying for broadband connection I am utilising. All my efforts in mailing to airtel has failed. But I am being harassed by the company officials that I have clear the outstanding dues. In fact, I lodged a complaint was lodged for which there is no response(Complaint No.[protected]).
I am being put to lot of humiliation and hardship by the frequent harassring calls from Airtel< Chennai office.

In this regard, I request your goodself to kindly disconnect the broadband connection and remove the installations and your junction box fixed in my premises immediately, so that I can be away from the unsolicited and harrassing calls.

It is regretted to note that one person by name Mr.Sadiq called me over my mobile and demanded that he wants to take away the broadband modem and the telephone instrument. When I checked up at my residence, it is understood that the connection has been deactivated. If this is your attitude, I do not understand why your mail says that you require some time to resolve the issue.

It is once again reiterated that the fault lies on your side. When I tried to contact the concerned persons, your company has been persistently harassing me with unnecessary call. In addition to this, now your people wanted to remove the telephone and modem without any reason. Also, if you are firm in decision, you may have to remove the junction box/pillar fixed in my premises. Dismantiling this would disrupt the other connections routed through this pillar.

Airtel wrong recharge on rc 48 topup

Hello,

I have seen a offer in my mobile yesterday( 11th May 2011 ) while querying my balance on *123# after balance that there is full talk time offer on 48RC but when I did the recharge of 48 then I got talk time of only RS 1. Could you please let me know which offer these money is deducted and if possible please refund it back as top up recharge. When I am trying to talk to customer care representative then it say some msg(use *121*2# for you balance enquiry... ) and disconnect the call. Not sure why its happening?

I have been an Airtel prepaid customer for last 1 and half years now. My number is [protected].Recently I started to get sms's that they have renewed my Airtel Radio, and every time charged my Rs. 30 for each even though I did not subscribe to any of them. On calling they promised to refund the money but I have not received yet.

On 22/08/09 I had called customer care and spoken to Mr Hanumanthaiah and later the call was transferred to Asha Madam the supervisor and I was promised the refund within 24/08/09 by 4.15pm and the ref. No was [protected]. But when called again Mr Karthik was on line and my call was transferred to Mr Ravi and then to Daksha madam where in i was again given the commitment of 25/08/09 by 6.00pm and the ref No was [protected]. And also i was told that did not happen the she would do it online at 6.00pm.

But even on 25/08/09 it was not done and when called the customer care no to my shock they were not ready to give any information.On 25/08/09 at 6.00pm i spoke to Mr Prasad the supervisor but he was again giving me only commitments and he was not ready to transfer the call to the seniors or the persons to whom i had spoken earlier and he was telling call back after 2 hours.

Again at 7.00pm I called back to customer care and one Mr Raju spoke to me and to my surprise he says there no complaint lodged from your number and when i start giving the ref No he says I cant give you any information and do what you want to do if you want take down my address but i can not give any information.

These customer care officers are very rude, I am quite ready to give up my airtel no and not use it ever again. Is this the way to treat the consumer? I think there is a big scam going on, wherein if any sim card has not been used for few months, Airtel starts deducting without the consent of the consumer and then claim that they can only look up account for last 24 hours so that they do not have to refund.

I would also like to know what other charges they have deducted from my account since Jan 08 until Aug 25th 2009 without my consent, and of course refunded. And also refund me for any illegal downloads/charges that they have done. This has been lot of harrasment for me, I have spent lots of time, just calling up Airtel in the last 3-4 days. In fact now I have even lost track of what all they have charged and what they have given back. I would like a detailed inquiry.

Airtel wrong balance deduction of rs.55 from prepaid mobile no. [protected]

I have been using internet from my airtel sim on my computer over an year or so. On 9th may, Rs.55 (approx.) was deducted from my account.

When I contacted customer care, they told me i was using airtel live even without any such settings!

Now my question is when i am connecting with dial up connecting, how can i choose between airtel live or mobile office?
I was already doing this over an year and this deduction suddenly happens on 9th may.
Is there any way that I get my money back else i m left with option to switch operator...

The same thing happened to me, today. First of all, i was using free facebook scheme(which is free for 4 telecom cos);and i have lg simple phone. First of all, the free facebook cut 0.10rs(i had been using it free for 10 days). Then after i turned it off for 10 min. Just for query, i checked my balance, Rs 55 rs was cut.What the hell.Instantly, i contacted Customer service and registered a complaint.They have told that they will answer by august17.In the last 3 years, 400-500 rs have been cut for no reason.This time, nothing constructive happens, i will use MNP. Even if they delay my mnp, i will buy another sim card.

Airtel consumer unsafe : ways of handling customer complaints

I had faltered a Bill Payment for my number in Bangalore intentionally as Customer Care failed to change my address requesting as many times as possible following all possible IVRS, walk-in to store etc. I thought of stopping the payments and get things done. I still owe Bharti my Bill and as an User - I will be paying it - but are there ways correct?

The collections department for Bharthi hinders into its customer's privacy and analyze the calling details and call up your family, near and dear ones and protray as the courier service. I had earlier spend lot of my energy in understanding this and in fact to all my surprises even Legal team of Airtel is aware of it... They have a lame attitude and just say that there's not any compliance which they are not following.

Is this right? the collection team just talk in a very abusive language - not sure how to deal this - but I guess this moves forward. Please feel free to comment and I will be more than willing to contribute...

I gotta call today again and in the same model and with almost similar language... I have attached an email for reference with names and numbers masked...

He did Blackmailed me saying that he is standing outside the gate of my aunt and he would approach my aunt who stays in Nandi Enclave if I do not make a payment by evening.

I would want you to let you know that Mr. XYZ123, my attorney for law; marked on this email will take the discussion forward with you and would like to understand that whether all consumers are treated, blackmailed in the similar fashion; whilst I have been reachable on my alternate number and email. My immediate concern is the safety of my family and friends who has been approached through my references.

I would like to get the payment done only after the resolution has been identified and proper legal action as permitted by Law is done.

While I have been missing on the payments in past one year is because of your portal does not allow the change of address when it comes to change the address in city; I have atleast made this statement loud and clear upteenth times that I have got myself relocated to Hyderabad. The loyalty was so high that, I kept the number in Roaming to retain the number and service. I hope you should have realized it by now.

I have earlier written to people on the limitations of portal address not to be changed and expected a response/notifications. Also, the capabilty to make a payment has never been a challenge as my bills have always been around 5k-7k as an average and had been a continous payment throught out.

Mr. Ram (probably name changed) of telephone number +[protected]; had a real bad tone and lacked basic etiquettes to speak to the customer. I would sincerely appreciate if he does the due dillegence and respect an individual before talking to the person.

Please suggest me the next step; and if required I am ready to address the concern in the required legal forums and would like to bring the discrepancy in services from both sides.

I would like to confirm the payment of bill by 07-Nov-09 and response to this email will determine the mode.

Dear Rakesh Kumar,

I hope this is not one of those "Good Cop" Email and to neutralize what's happening. At the outset, looks like even you are accepting the fact that this is a very standard practice of "getting things done". Is Airtel authorized to share personal information from calling list and share with Third Parties. I do not remember signing anything with Airtel.
Thanks to Mr. Pradeep for his comment and "Threatening" is a right word for the tone which is set.

I have always been reachable and will always be willing to help in all possible ways. I am motivated enough to help protect consumer from the agony of Airtel folks.

You can't sue them due to "lack of evidence". You can't track back the numbers from where you got a call. They even resort to deleting compliants from their customer care systems. I'm myself a hapless victim that moved to Vodafone after trying to get a compliant resolved for over an year. When writing to the Appelate authority did not help, I decided not to pay my bill. However, I continued to write to Airtel about this every week. Within a month of the due date some one called my cousin posing as a courier and asked for my number, some one came home asking for the bill and some one called my Dad and threatned him!
