Airports Company South Africa Parking rates

On 28 July 2021 I parked on level 2. At the access boom I saw flashing signals saying "Drop Off", as well as (importantly) the number of bays available for parking.

At no stage did any one tell me this was not the level for parking overnight. This was never the case historically. No message nor any person advising.

On exiting on 29 July 2021, I was charged R1, 710 .00.

When I pressed the help button at the pay station I was shouted at by the lady when I said there seems to have been a mistake. She shouted that I didn't understand and that a voice note at the entrance boom advised this. No voice note told me this was not for parking.

I was stunned by the response.

It is completely unacceptable.

I am obviously prepared to pay reasonable rates but I request a refund for the obviously excessive, extortionist and totally abusive rates applied.

Desired outcome: Refund of excess charge.

Airports Company South Africa Airports parking ridiculous rates

Hi. parked on level 2 as I usually do. rushed in and got ticket, parked and went on flight. on return 2 days later got an exorbitant charge of R3100. was horrified as this was changed in April 2021 and upon querying it with parking management got sent a response that they cant assist. Seems like they using this as an income earner for ACSA. there is no leniency or any sort of understanding to the innocent mistakes that people may have made in parking there. there are signs outside but if a person is rushing, you dont look out for anything as you already in a state to get to your flight.

Desired outcome: Partial refund would be suitable

Today got charged R4500! Signage is totally misleading and ambiguous. Was told that I was the 6th person today to have been caught. If the signage was clear, how could 6 people be misled in one day alone?

Airports Company South Africa Parking rates

I parked on level 2 whuch is the normal level that I usually parked on Thursday 22 April. On my return on 26 Apr I was charged R6 249 rand and when I went to the ticket office they just said I parked on the drop off level. There is no signage that explain that this is not for parking. This is an exploitation of unaware traveller's that is hold to ransom thet if you do not pay u can not get your car. This rates is 10x the normal rate for this level. I request your assistance in defending this amount.

Contact us at [protected]@gmail.com to arrange for refund.

Airports Company South Africa Parking

Yesterday I parked my car on level 2 for the day as I flew to ELS. Upon return in the evening I paid for my parking and was shocked to see that I had to pay R720 for the day. One of your staff said to me that level 2 is designated for Drop off and pick up. Hence the adjusted tariffs.
1. I was not warned when entering the parking of the tariff structure, I saw a tariff list on the pay machine, but then its too late and after the effect
2. Why then are you still operating with the change when the regular drop off and pick up points are now in full operation ?
3. I find the exorbitant charge grossly unfair and demand a refund. Please inform me how the refund will take place.
Thank you
My E-Mail is [protected]@motuscorp.co.za or Cell [protected]

Desired outcome: Need a refund for the unfair tariff charge

Airports Company South Africa Service

Arrived today with Rwandair at 3.15am from Kigali. When we disembark we reached end of sky bridge to find doors not opened. Twenty minutes the whole plane stuck inside bridge. No escape Incase of emergency. Where is the person to ensure doors open when a flight arrive? Then to find all the walk on escalators not working.in fact one of them not working for MONTHS! We parked right at end so you can imagine the passengers who find it difficult to walk!

The undercar park - long term - smell like a toilet! Every corner either staff, security and passengers urinate and the smell is unbearable. The WHOLE car park should be washed down with cleaning chemicals.

ACCSA more interesting to show ‘other' easy things to brag what they do. Nort the basic requirement for a airport company to manage. Emile Muller regular passenger

Airports Company South Africa Disrespectful acsa staff

I am a Traffic officer who is deployed at one of your airports and went to an induction course by ACSA on the 29th of October 2019, which was presented by a gentleman who introduced himself as Titus, to whom I posed a question on the same day as to if ACSA staff members have the immunity to park and operate on the road ways of the airport as they please and he answered me and said that I should do my job and no one is above the law, and I explained to him that there is a lady that works for ACSA whom is a problem, because she claims she was given permission by ACSA that she can park at Government Ministers Parking, and she throws tantrums a officers and threatens officers when performing their duties, which is a criminal offense

Airports Company South Africa Theft/invasion of privacy

Dear ACSA

My last trip from Cape Town to Johannesburg (BA6410 - 16 October 2019) this past week was very upsetting.

Upon arrival at my hotel in Pretoria I discovered that my suitcase (65/67Lt) had been broken into as per the attached.

Even though nothing of value appeared to be missing I felt extremely violated as someone had definitely riffled through the contents in my suitcase.

At first glance one could see my lock had been broken off from the suitcase and thus rendered the zippers useless.

I then had to - at my personal expense - purchase a suitcase (32Lt) to transfer my belongings over into it. I still had to keep the broken suitcase and leave my toiletries and some minor items in it as these were not suitable for the new (smaller) cabin size suitcase. It included various bottles with liquid in excess of 100 ml etc.

To make matters worse the staff at the JHB British Airways Baggage Counter were less than enthusiastic to assist after I attempted to lodge a complaint before leaving for Cape Town after my short stint in Pretoria.

Prior to leaving my hotel the maintenance staff were kind enough to provide me with cable ties to secure my suitcase in transit back to Cape Town (BA7407 - 17 October 2019) as I was forced to do so with the state my suitcase was in and also to secure what I needed to check in.

Upon collecting my suitcase once I had landed in Cape Town, I once again realised that my suitcase had again been broken into as the cable ties that were used to secure my bag had been removed - a serious violation of my privacy!

I therefore request as a resolution that I be reimbursed for the funds spent on purchasing a new suitcase of which the receipt has been attached for your perusal.

More importantly, can you advise what steps will be taken to ensure the safety of my luggage in future and to avoid loss of and/or damage to my property?

My contact details are listed below and so I eagerly await your response.

Airports Company South Africa Passport control or tambo international

My unaccompanied minor daughter arrived in Johannesburg this morning 08.01.2019 and the official refused her entry as she had lost her birth certificate. He refused to speak to me the parent of the minor and threatend not to let her into the country despite her being a resident. She was left in tears and he just refused to help. Everytime I tried to speak to him on the phone he would refuse and shout at my daughter. Counter 22 or 23. My minor daughter is extremely traumatised.

Airports Company South Africa Extreme dangerous event - overfilling of transit bus - flight sa express 1797

During a recent flight on Flight 1797 to Lubumbashi on the 26th of November 2018 at 09H20, an incident occurred whilst passengers were entering the transit bus.

SAA ground staff overfilled the transit bus to such an extent that people were preventing the doors from closing in a safe manner. The bus then continued driving with open doors with people semi peeling out of door. When attempting to make the driver aware of this extremely dangerous and unacceptable situation, no emergency stop seem to be available in order to get the attention of the driver.

Redis Afrika utilise the services of SA Express for many years also on a frequent basis to fly executives and senior management to the DRC. This occurrence is being viewed as unacceptable and extremely unsafe, a standard that is not expected from a world class organisation.

Airports Company South Africa Booking number: tcp-390417 with icare airport parking car park king shaka international

Icare airpot company is a parking service provider, which is done online for parking for those using the king skaka airport durban south africa. I engaged their services after reading the feedback from other people who used this company. Contact details of this company are only a mobile number [protected]. My booking number after paying this company for a parking space was tcp-390417. On 22: 10: 2018 my vehicle was taken from me as I was traveling abroad with the intention of me getting it back at 31:10:2108 when I arrived at this airport I am sure if you viewed the cameras at departure door 2 one car see the vehicle being driven off. Me getting my car back as it was handed over for safe parking and keeping did not happen because of the company employee, who was hit by a bus whilst driving my car as early as 7:30 am, for the records, I was only landing at 11:30 on this day. This company did not have the decency to inform me of the happenings. My question, using the king shaka name can anyone perform services. This company service needs to be removed from king shaka airport as it appears to be unauthentic or bogus.

Airports Company South Africa Noise pollution

Good day,

I reside in the Boksburg area, close to Jet Park an would like to lodge a complaint against excessive noise. The aeroplanes, I believe, are flying extremely low over residential areas causing unbearable noise to such an extent that it is not even possible to hear persons speak or having to pause the television until it passes. This happens ever 2 to 3 minutes multiple times.

I would like to know what the average altitude is that aeroplanes are allowed to fly over residential areas as I believe these are not being adhered to. It is becoming a major problem and is happening on a regular basis. I believe this is causing damage to multiple factors and would like this to be investigated as I find it unacceptable.

Airports Company South Africa Unethical behaviour

Good Morning!
My name is Priscilla Anne Whiteman - Bakoume Flight JE 129, 15 Sep
I would like to thank you for the good service I received from your personal in general. However on Saturday morning after going through security early. I had to leave the boarding area. I asked permission at the gates and they gave me 10min to meet the person that was 7H35. As I dont know your airport I got lost. Running back I was 5min late. Without greeting your security officer spoke to me in public in a very unprofessional way. Threathening not let me board the flight. I apologised, but he did not even listen.in front of everyone this young man dressed me down like I was some dilingquint child. But after me three white passengers came he said nothing. An Indian Family of four nothing was said, neither were they embarrased, this to me was purely racist. I will give you an oppurtunity to investigate. I want that man to apologise to me. I will take it further.
Yours truly

Airports Company South Africa Victimisation / unfair removal of passengers

Good day
On the 05/11/17 we travelled from or tambo int to east london airport with kulula airlines, or should I say at least attempted to travel. 1stly we were four travellers namely - zuneid obaray which is myself, lailah obaray my wife, rashaad obaray and zaidah obaray. The issue arose when the toys we were carrying still in its original packaging. When we reached the boarding gates were told that the toys had to be dispatched with our bags and not through the boarding gate.
The security the said that he will check with the supervisor to see if we can proceed with it. The ' supervisor ' then approached us and in a very rude manner explained to us why the goods were not allowed to board, asking don't we read terms and conditions when boarding. Ms baloyi which is the supervisor then said that the toys had to be thrown in the bin. After I explained that at the check in counter we were not told that the toys had to go with our luggage that is why I brought it to the boarding gate. I then took the toys, destroyed it infront of the supervisor and threw the toys in the bin. My wife and the supervisor known as hlamalani baloyi had a few words and as my wife walked away ms baloyi said do not swear at me, that is when my wife turned around to say that she did not swear at her, which the 3 of us also said to the lady that mrs obaray did not swear at her. Ms baloyi then grabbed my wife by the arm and myself and rashaad obaray intervened immediately by stepping in the way. We then asked her what gives her the right to grab mrs obaray in that way. She then again said that my wife had sworn her, which once again we told her that she did not swear at her. Ms baloyi who is an employee of acsa then told us that she will make sure we do not board for our flight. As we proceeded to board the kulula flight ms baloyi told the kulula personal that she is removing zuneid obaray, lailah obaray and rashaad obaray from the flight. After speaking to the kulula manager on duty explaining what happened and her reason for taking us off the flight is that my wife swore at her and me explaining my story we were told that kulula could not override acsa.
This incident gets very strange hereafter. Rashaad obaray was allowed to board his flight and myself aswell as my wife lailah obaray were removed. We were then told to follow the acsa supervisor. Not once were we told what the procedure would now be or if our luggage is safe. We walked behind ms baloyi until she went to another security section, where she still will not tell us what we are supposed to do. After asking her twice she eventually said ' I don't care what you do, just go ' we then rushed to kulula help desk to see if we could still board our flight as baloyi said we could go. When ms baloyi came to the help desk she then looked me in the eye and said she never said we could go. I was in total shock and disgust at the treatment we were receiving. I then requested to see her manager, a gentlemen then approached us after a few minutes name mr bheki duba. We explained our story and by then ms baloyi claimed myself and rashaad obaray physically grabbed her. I found her stories very contradicting and asked mr duba if that is the case then why was mr r obaray allowed to board his flight? Also if we physically grabbed ms baloyi like she says why did not one single security of acsa intervine? I thought that at this point we are being victimised. I then requested that the h.O. D security view the camera footage so it can be verified that ms baloyi actually grabbed my wife and we intervened, also to show that I destroyed the goods we could not board with. I felt that we were taken off the flight by someone who is abusing her power. We were made to stand around the airport waiting for feedback, not comfortable at all. I was also under the impression the the hod after viewing the footage would arrange a fight for us back home. We explained that we have two children at home, our children need to go to school and have to be back in east london. We were then told that we will have to pay for our own flights. I found this totally unacceptable, as we were not at fault. There were also no flights back to east london on 05/11/17. I had to book flights for the next day, accommodation, food and travelling expenses. I have kept all my receipts for cost incurred. I would firstly like a refund for all costs incurred aswell as time and income lost. As I also explained I have a business to run. I would then also like to know how a security personel can be given so much power to abuse her authority the way she has and not one acsa employee could assist us. I would like to know how this issue will be resolved? I would also request an apology from ms baloyi and a refund from acsa. Please advise

Airports Company South Africa Negligence in keeping car safe in paid-for parking-facility

I am seriously disappointed at the p4 shaded-parking security at ct international. I parked my car at about 5am on 1 aug to catch flight je702 to lanseria and upon my 4 aug return via flight je709, I found at about 5:40pm that my car was stolen. What's concerning is that everyone is aware of the crime situation in sa, but when I was walking up & down the parking-area in a state of trying to convince myself that i've just forgotten where i've parked, no security guard were in sight. Nada, zip, zilch, zero, get it! I had to go look for them to assist. Then, one guard rode his bicycle around the parking area looking for a car that fits the description. So, the guards have bicycles to efficiently patrol around the parked areas, but doesn't seem to bother? Given the price of air-travel and the fact that ct international should obviously expect travellers to leave their vehicles in the parking-areas, maybe outsourcing to a "no incident" security company to guard customers' vehicles should be a priority. I'm referring to the types who patrol upmarket suburban areas in tactical vehicles with a no bs protocal. Why don't you get those guys-who-get-the-job-done to protect your customers' vehicles? The immense inconvenience caused, some lost valuable documents & cherished personal items causes emotional distress that was avoidable. I regularly parked that car, isolated at the beach (many times out-of-sight behind sand dunes) or wherever i'm taking my dogs for walks across the cape peninsula, but cannot believe that it was less safe at an access-controlled paid-for facility at an airport that should have the highest-level of security measures everywhere! I'm not bitter. The general service-levels at ct international airport is world-class, no doubt. I just sincerely trusted that my car would be as safe as I feel when i'm inside the airport facility.

I hold acsa directly responsible for this loss and want reparation to the full monetary-value of the loss I suffered i.T. O my car and valuables within. Total loss suffered is estimated at about r100000

The police case-number for this incident is cas86/8/2017 and is registered at ravensmead police station with their tel no being +[protected] or +[protected]. My contact details can be directly obtained from the police as per the case-number, but my e-mail address follows as:

Airports Company South Africa Missing lock and broken bag

On friday the 26th may I travelled from cape town to durban on a british airways flight. Upon arrival at king shaka I noticed my lock was broken off, but nothing was missing so I decided to not lay a complaint. Today I flew from cape town again on british airways 13:30 flight and upon arrival at home noticed my lock was missing again. On closer inspection I realized that my the lock was actually cut off. I can now no longer lock my bag. This is unacceptable! Bags are very expensive and this is a new bag! My clothes was also tumbled like someone was scratching through it. I am really disappointed. I don't know what they were looking for because no one could possibly think of leaving any valuables in their bag and besides make up, clothes and shoes, I had nothing in there.

Airports Company South Africa Suitcase broken into

On the 13th of May 2017, I flew from King Shaka International to O.R. Tambo (International. When my bag arrived on the carousel at O.R. Tambo everything seemed fine, my lock was intact but upon closer inspection the ring of the zip used to lock the bag was broken. This worried me so I opened my bag and quickly scanned through the contents and it appeared all was fine but when I flew into London and reached home and opened my suitcase I found that all the gifts I received were stolen from my bag. Also, an envelope containing religious items was shredded in what I assume was an attempt to find money. This was a heartbreaking discovery and I think it's unacceptable that things like this happen at airports. I don't even care about the value of what was taken, it was sentimental. I went to Durban on holiday from London to see my family and they bought me these gifts for my birthday. Please do something about the staff you have working at the airports. We pay too much for flights anyway for these things to happen.
