On Jan. 19-07 I contacted aeroplan office to see if we received reward miles for a trip taken Nov 19-06 and to my surprise I found out my husband & I both lost all our airmiles as of Sept. 30-06. I do not feel that Air Canada has the right to do this. A letter dated Oct 6 stated Jan 1-07 changes will take place. I was very upset so I called again on Jan. 22-07 & was told the same thing except she advised me that we were only getting credit for 1 way travel for our trip taken in Nov. which the other girl did not notify me of . So she did correct there error. She also advised me that I should be taking some responsiblity - well it seems when I call there are always changes & how would I know if I was only getting credit for 1 way travel, I do not know all the policies & feel it is there job & how would I know they no longer send out statements. But, they were quick to advise me that if I wanted the miles back how much it would cost. Over the years we have not received credit for all of our trips & I did try & but to no avail. On Jan 22 I also asked to speak to a manager & was advised they would not accept the call.
Could you please look into this & reply - thank you.

The Air Miles program has become useless - devalued points, lack of useful redemptions, and extremely bad customer service.

I am going to reach out to ALL of their partners and encourage them to dissolve the relationship with this terrible company, and I encourage all unhappy customers to do the same - it will have an effect!

I have over 2000 air miles that I was told today by an air miles supervisor that I won't be able to use them for food because I didn't switch my miles from dreams to cash, which I was not made aware of this. I feel that MY 2000 points were taken away from me as I do not have any stores in my area where I can use them. I was wondering if someone has ever thought of taking legal action against this. I am wondering how many miles would this benefit the company? And to top it all, she told me that it will expire in 3 years, if I don't do something with them, but I do not want garbage, I want to use them for food which apparently I can't, but those points are apparently mine according to her.

My daughter booked a flight for April 2oth, but the confirmation said it was for the 19th. When I phoned and asked if it could be changed to the 20th, they said yes, only it will cost $130. She had to pay $87 up front. The person I was talking with said this happens, you book for one day and it comes for another day.

I am very disappointed that air miles will not ship items to an Alberta rural address. when we were told that we thought that well just use the local Purolator address and they can phone us to come and pick up the parcel, so they sent it through Canada Post with our name and phone number on it to Purolator's address in the city here. But Purolator refused the package and it was not delivered... we assume it has been returned to air miles but we don't know? So if air miles wont ship parcels to Alberta addresses then how do the customers v=ever get they're rewards? Interesting as there are thousands of rural Alberta residences.

MONTREAL -- The Quebec Superior Court has granted authorization to launch a class-action lawsuit challenging Groupe Aeroplan Inc.'s practice since October 2006 of cancelling points accumulated in its loyalty program.

The motion, obtained by Montreal lawyer Owen Falquero of Merchant Law Group LLP, was filed on behalf of about seven plaintiffs across Canada. But the number of petitioners, if and when a class-action suit is launched, could balloon to thousands of people.

The motion was filed formally on behalf of Noella Neale of Port Coquitlam, B.C., a single mother whose 150, 000 points were annulled by Aeroplan because she hadn't made a contribution or a redemption in her account for one year, a period during which she had fallen ill.

Those points fell victim to Aeroplan's rules, instituted in October of 2006, under which the company erases points in an account dormant for 12 months.

In a telephone interview, Neale said she was going to pay for her daughter's trip to New Zealand -- her graduation gift -- until she tried to pay from her account and saw that it had been emptied.

Aeroplan spokeswoman JoAnne Hayes declined to comment on the issue because it is now before the courts.

In a statement, Aeroplan noted that "no class action has yet been filed. This motion is the first procedural step before any such action can be instituted."

The company noted that "petitioners (are) seek(ing) court permission to sue Aeroplan on behalf of program members in Canada to obtain reinstatement of expired miles, reimbursement of any amounts already expended by Aeroplan members to reinstate their expired miles, $50 in compensatory damages and an undetermined amount in exemplary damages on behalf of each class member, all in relation to changes made to the Aeroplan program concerning accumulation and expiry of Aeroplan Miles as announced Oct. 16th, 2006."

But Aeroplan stressed that it "is of the view that there are good grounds for opposing the motion for authorization and will vigorously defend any class action, should one be authorized by the court."

Neale said: "I felt like they stole from me."

"If the bank took my money like that, it would be theft. I earned those points. They belong to me, and (Aeroplan) has no right to take them away from me."
