This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I had booked a flight from Hyderabad to Kolkata online for 04th March 2007 in the name of Mr. Satyen Parida (PNR 1626926) in Air Deccan. Unfortunately, I wanted to get it canceled on 01st March 2007. However, I kept trying on the net to cancel the ticket online but to no avail as there is no option for cancellation. Further, I tried on the customer care line of Air Deccan as mentioned on their website at least 20 to 25 times. It appeared that all the lines were too busy (don't know in what). Therefore, I had to hire a cab from Gurgaon to New Delhi airport for Rs. 400/- and went to the airport to get my ticket canceled. The uncooperative staff of the said airlines were magnanimous enough to write on my ticket that it has been canceled, although they refused to register my customer complaint. However, the refund to my credit card account is still pending (after nearly a week after it has been canceled). I wonder whether the company is up to committing some fraud or is it just a callous attitude towards the customers.

Beware!

Hi this is regarding the bad service rendered to all the customers on refunds and customer service for the tickets purchased for air deccan flights. There is no response from these executives once you ask for any service after the payment is made. They keep telling us various excuses for blaming their inter departments for not providing the service. I was later broadcasted through various media that air deccan is cheating customers through over booking, which was denied by airdeccan, i really hope that this is not true, they have claimed, they are upgrading their software system to be made more sophisticated for more superior access and service for customers. Today, after 40 days have been completed and trust me I have been mis guided / informed and I have been tested for my patience by the airdeccan executives. The call centre is very though to get through, after 1:15 minutes they refuse to solve the query and blame it on other departments for not meeting the service. Their board numbers aren't working, they email ids mentioned in the website are bouncing back and permission denied status. I have no clue as what is going on with these executives, then when I reached the airport to, their glass window is broken and their staff refuse to answer and direct us to customer care. Its going on the loop within the company. I think we need to stop this and come to an solution. CAN WE ASK FOR JUSTICE NOW ATLEAST.

I issued the following ticket for DEL-BOM-DELHI sector traveling on 04 May 2007 and return on 06 May 2007 through MY TRAVEL AGENT. Unfortunately my flight on 06 May 2007 BOM-DELHI cancelled due to operational reason. As per terms and conditions, free scheduling is allowed in this case. I am willing to travel on 7 May 2007 because I want to return from Mumbai. No refund needed for the same (Presently seats are available in aIRDECCAN flight).

I have been in constant touch with customer care of MY TRAVEL agent but they denied my request, and sent me the copy of reply that one of Airdeccan Executive (Executive – Business Development) given them by reflecting that rescheduling is not available, including the company (airdeccan) seal and signature. This is totally diffren from the terms and conditions displayed in www.airdeccan.net.

THIS CLEARLY MENTIONED THAT AIRDECCAN CHEATING TO CUSTOMERS.

I am at this moment seating in Deccan Air flight 714 - Mumbai - chennai on seat 9F . I found that chairs are not getting inclined. The same was the case about other flights of Deccan Air. This is highly inconvenient. Air deccan must not play with comfort of passengers for sake of price war.

On 29.5.07 I was booking tikets on Deccan Airlines from Kolkata to Silchor when due to some technical error in their website the ticket could not be confirmed but to my surprise the amount was debited from my SBI A/C.On the same day I booked the same ticket for the same destination which I have availed too. How can a person avail two tickets for the same flight, same day, same time & same destination. However on calling up their call center I was assured that the amount would be reversed within 15 working days but all was in vain. I would be grateful if you could help me in refunding the money.

I did an online booking for a ticket from Guwahati to Kolkata on 2nd May 2007 but received no PNR or ticket. The credit card (VISA) company confirmed the transaction (Rs 2574/-) but Air Deccan Help line says that they cannot see the PNR online so they can't trace the transaction. Gave me a number (080-[protected]) which is the contact for the department at Air Deccan handling credit card transactions... number is permanently busy... Tried 178 times (counted)... no go.

Surprisingly ALL THEIR CONTACT NUMBERS keep ringing without any one picking up... tried over 4 days.

These numbers, as published on their website CONTACT page are:

080 [protected]-99 /[protected] / 5200

This is a total nightmare! I found that I am not the only person to suffer... they seem to be making quite a packet from people who don't have the time to bother following up such false transactions.

I booked a ticket on Air Deccan to New Delhi in January this year. However, upon calling to the air line to verify my ticket I found out that the flight got canceled. They offered me to fly the next morning, which I could not do due to other arrangements I already made. I decided to cancel the ticket, and book something else. I canceled the ticket and they assured me that the money would roll back within 5 days. It has been 4 months since that and I still don't have the money they promised.

I called numerous times but it's impossible to reach their refund department. I even wrote to them, but to no avail.

I booked a flight from Aizawl (Mizoram) to Kolkatta on 3rd Jan, the flight was cancelled after people boarded the flight due some technical reasons. The Airline authorities were so in considerate they refused to put people on the next flight stating that the next flight was full and preference was given only to people using Airdeccan as connecting flight from Kolkatta, as we had a connecting flight on King Fisher we were not preferred. They gave the dates for sunday 7th Jan, we lost 4 days in bargain, and we had to reschdule our kingfisher tickets paying a difference amount of Rupees 5K thats the lowest we could get and lost 5 working days, and mental torture from the airlines, plus loss in pay from the company all put together loss of 10K in bargain for 2K. Now &th Jan the flight has been cancelled again, they are driving us nuts, we have been tortured mentally... If we dont get the next flight we have to cancel our Kingfisher flights again and that would cost us a bomb... The Airline staff cares a damm for the people who are flying... i suggest people not to Fly Airdeccan and try flying some other airlines by paying a lil extra.

I had booked this ticket on the Internet on 23rd.

a. Since I am unable to take this sector I requested for this to be rescheduled to HYD-CHENNAI on 30th April and Chennai-HYD on 1st May.
b. The airlines staff Ms. Haripriya states I can only take one sector.
c. This is not as per agreed terms which states that I can change sector or route. Their claim is that I can only take a single sector.
d. I was agreeable to pay the re-scheduling charges as mentioned in the ticket.

So neither are they agreeing to reschedule as desired and nor refunding me the fare. This is gross harrasment of customers and cheating them and making money. They image of peoples airline they portray is totally misled. I will never travel in Air Deccan and will also recommend others not to travel.

I was trying to book a ticket through air deccan website. Due to some technical problems the ticket was not reserved but the amount was debited from my credit card account. Now when I talk to Air Deccan people they say there was no such transaction but I can see clearly in my credit card statement. When I talked to my credit card Bank, they say they have issued the amount to Air deccan. Now when I try to give the reference number to Air Deccan refunds section, I never get a connection to their customer service representative. They are always busy. There is no proper response from the managers.

My wife after traveling alone with a 16month old infant from Delhi to Calcutta on a Air Sahara flight was continue her journey to Agartala on Air Deccan Flight No 571. She went through all security checks at the Calcutta airport and was scheduled to board the flight to Agartala. However she had to go to the washroom for about 10 minutes to get the baby diapers changed and to freshen herself, after which returned to her seat and waited for the boarding call.

After a long wait beyond the flight time she inquired about the delay. To her horror she was rudely told that the flight has already left and announcement for her was made. On inquiring how that was possible the staff spoke arrogantly to a already nervous and crying lady with a child, she was also told that the ticket was cancelled and she can come back the nest day with a new ticket to board the flight to Agartalla. She was taken to a room and mentally harassed with rude and arrogant behiviour (Which she incidentally went by Indian Airlines the next day without any refund)

I highly object to this careless attitude of the staff

· They did not bother to do a check to find where a mother and child could have disappeared, as there were only a 10-15 persons for the flight.
· A check of the washrooms, which was a logical place for the duo to be, was not done.
· Even after their return to the waiting area, no further enquiry was done to find out what happened to the missing passengers, till my wife went enquiring about the delay. (Isn’t missing passengers a security threat issue)
· What if the person was deaf and disabled, what then? Do the management have any protocols for passengers with spatial needs.( if they existed then this would not have happened.)
· The agony and rude behaviour that was melted out to my wife, I too was a listener over the phone as they refused to speak to me in spite of repeated pleading of my wife to speak to me. (Not that I could have helped but could have understood the situation and made arrangements for her stay for the night in Kolkata.)

Air traveling was a mater of pride for most, but if in the name of cheep tickets if one has to go through such cheep talks then we would prefer to pay more and fly carriers who value self respect and give dignity to its valued passengers.

I close my letter with the hope that the guilty staff at the Calcutta airport and the duty manager should tender an apology to my wife. i intend to take the matter to the highest level in the ministry.

I booked a ticket through internet having ticket no. 2103069 on 29.4.2007. But due to cancellation of my program, I had to cancel the said ticket on 2.4.07. After that I have sent several reminders through mail for the refund. In addition, I have sent a letter by speed post to Captain Gopinath. I have provided all the details required. But I have been provided only the refund case no. 67614 but no refund made yet. Customer care executive is also not reachable. I have tried thrice- hanged on the line for more than 15 minutes in each occasion but all in vain. Now, I am worried that whether I shall get back the refund amount or I have to think that I have been pickpocketed by Air Deccan. I don't know how such a pathetic company is still surviving on this planet!

TO WHOEVER IT MAY CONCERN

I have booked a ticket online on 6th July, 2007 of Kolkata - Mumbai flight DN -642 for 21st July. When I clicked make payments button, PNR No.3432377 was not generated and returned to the same page. So I repeated the same process again and PNR was generated. I found out later that there were two transactions made for same name of the same flight on same day, which is not possible. I did not get email itinerary of ticket as I mentioned email id also. The first ticket was cancelled by Air Deccan Kolkata office, they told me to send an email with detail to get refund process started soon.

Encl: Credit card statement in respect of payment made against Deccan Airlines ticket.

I was booking a flight from Hyderabad to Kolkata for 26 Sep 2007, Departure 16:30, Arrival 18:35
I have selected this flight and amount that was showing was Rs. 1585.00 and then i inserted all my information with credit card details also and then clicked on I agree Term's & Conditions and then clicked next and the page that came was with the details:

Confirmation Ticket No. : 3751660, DELHI - BANGLORE 21Sep Departure : 9:00 AM, Arrival - 11:30 AM.

This happened due to some error on the Airdeccan Website but Airdeccan is not ready to entertain any such complaint because the basic fare was Rs.60/- plus Taxes, and the page automatically redirected to some page for Delhi-Banglore Flight.

I requested them to atleast provide some points or voucher so that i would get that discount or difference of Rs. 1900/- approx. when I'll fly next time.

Thanking You,
Regards

I had purchased an Air Deccan Airline Ticket No. 2342473 from Mumbai-Kolkata and Return for 2 Person. While i called the Customer Care, they had told me that on Cancellation, I would get back 85% of Basic Fare and 100% of Taxes. Now, they have rolled back and said that their policies have been revised, and i will be getting only a paltry amount of Rs.225 per passenger per ticket as a Refund Amount.

This is nothing but a Cheating!

Thanking you,

My flight was canceled by the company itself and was not given any refund when asked well in advance, that is immediately after I received sms from Air Deccan saying my flight has been canceled. Customer service of Air Deccan took me weeks to reach them and I had to be in queue for hours even though my waiting number was one when called at 9am. When contacted the customer service they said money has been refunded. Fact is, its been more than two weeks now and I have not got any refund. Bottom line, Air Deccan is a pathetic airliner with poor customer care service with equally worse in flight services. Overall Air Deccan is poorly managed airliner without any business ethics and pathetic service with arrogant staff. Never fly Air Deccan!

I had cancelled my ticket with PNR. No. DA04539406 on 145th April, 2006. The ticket was booked on my credit Card. Due to certain unavoidable reasons, I had to cancel my ticket and the staff at the Air Port while cancelling my ticket promised to get refund credited to my account within 15 days. But those it isl more than one year and one month, I have not received any amount, nor any communication from the company. This is very bad state of affair what the company is adopting all nasty mimics and illegally retaining the money of the public.

I booked 2 tickets for 06May2008 08:55 to Mangalore through Air deccan. I canceled it when there were more than 5Hrs for the flight as per the refund policy stated. Its Jun19th today and the money is yet to reach me. I have called up the customer care at least 7 times. Everytime i call them they place me on hold and never get back to me.

Today they say that their systems have gone wrong so I wont get the money back for another month. Isn't there a penalty to be paid for troubling people like this!

And yes, I will never set foot on Air deccan again!

I Booked an Air Deccan Flight from Hyderabad to Goa on 1st March 07. The Ticket number was 1626418. UNFORTUNATELY::: I booked Air Deccan as there is no Direct flight to Goa from Hyderabad.

I was 5 minutes before the check-in time provided on the ticket (i.e.: 30mins prior). But the Illiterate guy sitting at the counter did not allow me or my wife with the boarding pass BECAUSE his watch showed 28mins and he Blindly argued with me that all of us standing at the counter are lying and our watches had time set with 5 to 10 mins late... CAN YOU GUYS BELIEVE IT...

I requested to talk to the Higher Authorities available and the answer we got was everyone was busy as the Flight is taking off... Numerous times I have tried to call the Air Deccan Call Center but it never gets connected...

I Submitted the Tickets at the Air Deccan Counter at Dambolin Airport (GOA) and requested to cancel my return tickets and informed that it should be a complete refund... Answer I got was: the Server is down... I don't understand ::: Why is it that Air Deccan Always has its server down...

After waiting for almost 2 hrs and constantly trying the call center number the lady at the counter accepted the ticket and confirmed that it would be canceled... HER NAME IS: SHENA, Number : 2542379 (Goa Airdeccan Counter )...

I did not receive my refund so I kept trying the call center number and on 3rd April '07 , I got connected: Spoke with ARUN (arunka via RT" ): He gave me a Case number : 67061... Confirming that the Full refund would be done within 20 to 25 Days.

Today is 16th May '07... WHERE IS MY REFUND? CAN SOMEONE HELP ME GET MY REFUND BACK FROM THIS CHEAP, CHEATING, IRRESPONSIBLE, PATHETIC AIR DECCAN AIRLINE COMPANY...

Here is my whole story which i posted on their website:

Day1: Nov1st 2007

9 days before the actual flight, air deccan begins the first

humiliation by sending an sms to my dad's cell phone (NO OTHER FORM OF

COMMUNICATION FOR CANCELLATION OF FLIGHT). There has been no attempt

to tell the customer about the cancellation, imagine if the SMS was

unread, it would have been havoc for my dad's job and mom's plan.

Imagine Reaching at the airport thinking of boarding the flight. But i

suppose Air Deccan does not care. Anyway i had to buy other tickets

for my parents and i ended up paying 150$ extra, all because of Air

Deccan, which i suppose you don't care according to your terms and

conditions.

Week Following Nov 4th: With the refunds department my experience has

been dismal which is aggravated by the air deccan help line numbers

available on web. i tried to contact refunds department with no

success by the number given on the web. I have records of all the

conversations (unsucessful and successful one in the end). I wasted

about 25-30$ on phone (note that the refund amount is about 150$).

Then i get an idea to mail air deccan for refunds and it is worthwhile

noting that refunds department responded asking me to wait for 14

working days. There has been no response even after 21 working days, i

tried sending a few more mails but nobody wants to respond as i

suppose they dont care anymore (or for me "Air Deccan does not care

anymore"). Anyway with some muscle power on phone, I was able to get

some phone numbers from Ms. xxxx at reservations which after one

trial (xxxx at IT) led to Mr. xxxxx and team. Mr. xxxx

sounded very diligent and has convinced me that i will have

refunds before coming Monday which is Dec10 2007. The customer has no

choice but to believe his words as he said before "refund in 14

working days". So i will wait until Monday and feel at the end of it

that "Air Deccan does not care".

My experience with Air Deccan gives me a feeling that Air Deccan is

not a organization but a company run by individuals who lack

commitment to the mission of Air Deccan. And if this not true then Air

Deccan is itself company without policy or mission.

I would like to know why it took more than 14 working day "policy

commitment" for refunds. If according to your policy i am not eligible

for any extra claims for flight cancellation by air deccan. I need

to know how much extra compensation i am eligible for not meeting the

14 day policy commitment for refunds on your part. If you are not sure

about your flights, then you should collect money at the time of

check-in especially given your inability to return funds in time. I

am looking forward for an answer which should cover all my concerns

not only refunds.

In brief i want answers to following questions:

1. External agency which certifies Air Deccan for customer care (Any

ISO standards)

2. How do you make sure that you have reported customer about flight

cancellation.

3. Level of difficulty to apply for refunds for a flight which is

canceled by air deccan (you should make the life of cancelled flight

passengers easier, rather than making it more difficult.)

4. Your inability towards refunds in a given time frame

5. Your inability to answer customer queries

6. Compensation for my additional costs incurred in inefficient refund procees

ALSO PLEASE LET ME KNOW CLEARLY, MY ELIGIBILITY TO THE ANSWERS OF

ABOVE MENTIONED QUESTIONS. IF YOU THINK I AM NOT ELIGIBLE TO KNOW THE

ANSWER, PLEASE PROVIDE AN EXPLANATION.

I had booked tickets from Jamshedpur to Calcutta in Air Deccan flight 588 on 4th April. The flight was cancelled by Air Deccan for some flimsy reason. I was assured by the Call centre executive that my amount will be refunded within 14 working days. However nothing of that sort has happened till date.

I even called up Air Deccan refunds department and spoke to Mr Suresh and Mr. Ishwar. Each time I was assured that refund would be done in next 3-4 working days but no refund has been made. Every time I have been given a false assurance by these refund officials.

Five persons have booked a round ticket from your flights It follows as
(i) TVM to Delhi
(ii) Delhi to Ahmedabad
(iii) Ahmedabad to Hyderabad (4400655 flight schedule 30-10-07 at 11.40hrs)
(iv) Hyderabad to Chennai (4430301)
(v) Chennai to Trivandrum (4430450)

Of the above you have just called us and conveyed that you have cancelled the flight schedule Ahmedabad to Hyderabad by y-night as asked us to get refund. If so how we can get other connecting flights? I find v. inconvenient to me also rather poor management on your part to inform during 11th hour and half way through our program.

I had booked a flight from Raipur to Delhi online for 03rd. March'2007 in name of Mrs. Anindita Banerjee and Ms. Pratistha Banerjee vide PNR No. DA09163922 in Air Deccan for Rs.3998.00.

Due to change in our itinerary, we wanted to reschedule/cancel the tickets.

We logged on to the site, but it did not allow us to reschedule/cancel the same.

Further we tried customer care telephone line of Air Deccan not less than 70-75 times as a routine during 24th.Feb'07 till 28th. Feb'2007 but invain.

Left with no option and since I was traveling to Kolkata by Spicejet had been to the Delhi airport.

There in the AirDeccan counter at Delhi airport the situation was horrifying. The staff was absolutely not willing to take-up the request for cancellation stating that the system is down. Even the Airport Manager was not keen to hear the issue.

Since I was getting delayed, took-up the issue at Air Deccan Airport Office of Kolkata upon reaching there on 28th. February'2007 evening.

However, the staff were a bit co-operative and accepted there is an upgradation of the website resulting in the problems. They immediately accepted to forward the cancellation request to their office.

Thus on 28th. Feb'07 at around 18.05 hrs., mail for cancellation of ticket was forwarded by one Ms. Sanchita of Kolkata Airport office of Air Deccan to their head office with a copy to their refunds sections(perhaps).

On my request to acknowledge the same on the copy of the ticket available with me, the Incharge one South Indian gentleman flatly refused to do so and confirmed that the refund shall be effected within a month.

Thus I was left with only a hope and the name of the staff who had forwarded my message for cancellation i.e. Ms. Sanchita of Air Deccan Airport office at Kolkata.

It is more than two months and we are yet to get the refund on our credit card.

We wonder if Air Deccan is into business of cheating and fraud rather than Airlines.

I tried booking 10 tickets for Jammu-Srinagar on the 14th April for travel on 11th May 2007
The browser got hanged for more than an hour after taking in the credit cards details. But the ticket was not generated nor was any reference number generated. Another attempt was made after an hour for travel on 10th May 2007 for the same set of passengers and the same sector and the result was same. I received an email the next day informing that both the tickets were confirmed. Because there was no confirmation received till next day, I was compelled to cancel the program. I made frantic attempts to reach on all the listed contacts of Air Deccan but none of the calls were going through.

I approached Air Deccan's Cunningham office and met the authorities who suspect or speculate that my problem is not genuine enough to claim a full refund on both the tickets. They say that I could get refund on only one ticket. This, to me is ridiculous. If the problem is related to Air Deccan's ticketing server which does not respond for hours together and does not issue either a PNR or any other reference online indicating booking confirmation, it is entirely Air Deccan's responsibility to accept the passenger's woes and allow him full refund. Moreover Air Deccan's refund FAQs also talk the same.

In the process of offering lowest cost tickets and under the pretext of being a low fril airlines, Air Deccan is totally getting ignorant of the customer's woes and sufferings.

Sincerely,
Vilas Desai

I have booked tickets online in air deccan, in which the gender of one of the passengers has been mistakenly put wrong. Its been months that i have been trying to contact air deccan customer care office, but only happen to listen to music of one of the favorite english songs. If my copassenger faces any problem while entering into the airport, its not me who has to be held responsible for this. 24 hour customer care numbers are not replying. Hope someone pays a heed to this and help us.

I am a practicing Advocate at Delhi. In January I booked a round trip Delhi-Trivandrum-Delhi for my wife and minor son. The outbound journey was scheduled for 12th May and the inbound journey 11th June, 2007. The tickets booked online and printed out indicated refund of fare less 15% + addl. charges up to 72hrs before Journey. In March I sought cancellation of bookings. I was unable to get through the " 24x7" Helpline and hence made a written request forwarded by speed post to Air Deccan Head Office at Bangalore. I Was asked to contact Mr. Suraj Chengappa by email- but till date I have not received any part of the Rs.17,596/- paid through my credit card. I have filed proceedings before the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission New Delhiin respect of the Unfair Trade Practices being indulged in by the Airlines. I am also instituting a Criminal Complaint for cheating, criminal breach of trust etc against the Airlines, its MD and also its CFO. Do beware of this totally unethical and unscrupulous Airline.

I booked Air Deccan flight from Bangalore to Chennai, unfortunately the amount got transferred twice from my account to Air deccan. As per the Air deccan policy it should be refunded within 14 days. I registered complain about the incident and i got the complaint number also. But still my money is not refunded. If i call to customer care either no one is there to answer nor they are giving the improper answer. The delay of the air deccan is quite normal. Don't trust them!

I had booked a flight on 25th Jan 2007fot one adult, one child and one infant by their flight no DN 658 of 8th June, 2007 on the Delhi- Mumbai sector, for a total value of Rs.5302.15. Subsequently I was told that the flight has been canceled and I can take the refund. As per their published rules, they are supposed to provide an alternate flight within one week, if available, but I was told that all flights were full.

Subsequently I booked for the same passengers one of their flight for 7th June at a substantially higher price(more than Rs. 3000/ in excess)

Obviously all the flights were not booked to the full capacity and this was only an underhand method to extort more money. Many complaints to the airlines people (Mr. Sommaiah) have not elicited an answer, leave aside the refund of excess charge. I have decided not to go for this airline in future and would advise other passengers also to avoid such fraudulent airlines

I have booked the Ticket for my travel from Ahmedabad to Chennai. The amount got debited from my account and the ticket got cancelled immediately after booking made. Then i have contacted Customer Care of AirDeccan they have confirmed within 40 days the amount will be refunded and the reason they said due to server problem. I have the complaint no. also. But till now the amount has not been transferred. To contact the AirDeccan Customer Care is not very easy, we have to be on the line min. of 30 to 45 min. Also they never responding properly for all the queries, they will redirect to another person. NO PROPER RESPONSE FROM AIR DECCAN CUSTOMER CARE. Their services also very bad. I am really fed up with AirDeccan. pls "DON'T TRUST AIR DECCAN".

Credit card booking refunds are marked at the airport as refunded to card account. You can wait for months and not receive any refund/communication.
The call center number/helpline is always busy and the online process gives you numbers and there ends the process although the pre composed mail draft says 40 days.

The Airline really does give a new meaning to the word CHEAP!

My delhi to Kullu sector flight was canceled at delhi airport on March 10 th and air deccan endorsed the full amount for refund on my ticket voucher. But till date i have not received a single penny out of 15201 INRs and its has been over 4 months. Repeated calls at air deccan call centres were non responsive.

Seems they have emerged as the biggest private sectors frauds of all time. Avoid the airline at all cost.
