Definitely bait & trap methods used, trapped them myself, they can't spell, no understanding of English grammar & totally generic answers, as soon i was finished collecting enough data, i called them out & of course the obvious happened, trying to obtain money under false pretenses is a crime, but i plan to make a documentary about these sites, filming the process of the class action lawsuit already underway, hope to get the interest of Netflicks, there not bigger than Hearbalife & they just got hammered. a scam is a scam beware!

Burn notice: i was a paying member of this site. The ip adress associated with my account was deemed fraudulent. So i had to prove i was real. I did so and paid for my next month. Then come to find out they'd message every lady i'd spoke with that my account was a fraud. Now i'm totally burned on their site due to no fault of my own. And to add to it they won't refund my money after being on the site just 2 hours.

I think we need to cut Afroromance some slack. Search dating scams and see for yourself… Seems to me the word “dating scams” has become the new synonym for “dating sites”. Name me one dating site that hasn’t been implicated. That said, some of these things, we can never run away from. Most dating sites have put in measures to curb much of this vice and Afroromance is one such site.

Just because there are cons in the world doesn’t mean we create an air bubble and stop dating. You just gotta have a little faith and exercise caution. I had heard about all the scams but I decided to just believe that most of the members on the site are good people.

I was told about this site via a friend and my now boyfriend was already on here. He had also just joined after finding Ms. Wrong.

We made contact with each other on October 28, 2012 and after staying up all night emailing back and forth we decided to leave the doors open for a healthy relationship, he lost his brother two days after we met on this site and knowing I was there for him if he needed me was the biggest thing.

We met on November 10, 2012 for the first time and decided then we knew what we wanted...I moved from GA to NC on January 4, 2013 and we got married on September 21, 2013.

We cannot thank this site enough for being that site that just made everything right for us... And to all the people out there looking for love it is true it could be right in your face... Just believe...

I have read lots of complaints about Afroromance, the scams, how it is filled with fake members. Well, that never stopped me because I know, even if it has fakes, all dating sites do. This is not the only site that has been accused of such. That said, I proceeded with caution.

I wont say it was super easy at first, but after getting the hang of it, I managed to communicate with a number of great women... and the not so great ones too.

I met this woman by sending her a flirt. She responded and it went from there. The only problem was that we kept missing each other online. So one day she finally gave me her phone number and I called her. We made plans to meet up one week later.

The first date was wonderful. We got along so well that we had a second date the day after. We talk and text each other everyday and we have actually fallen in love with one another. We both want the same things relationship wise, and she has even gone as far as to remove her profile from this site. She tells me she has found what she is looking for in me. I feel the same way which is why I am canceling my membership too.

I met a very honest, open, friendly, loving, fun and faithful woman here in my home state. To be honest, I don't know if it will end in marriage, but it has been a wonderful experience spending time with her and getting to know her.

It may not be a perfect site at the very least, I have met someone who has lifted me out of a low place and a fantastic friend who brightens my day and makes me laugh we I need it. Thank you Afroromance

This complaint/warning is applicable to all countries, and all US States and territories

hackers from africa, and eastern europe post false male and female ads with beautiful
fake photos of individuals to attract victims.they post their ads as if they are residents of some US city, even though they may be physically located thousands of miles away
They will not solicit you, however. Once you make
contact with them, they use some chat vehicle such as skype or yahoo chat to enter/hack in
to your computer. the company is doing a great job detecting these persons and closing their
accounts as soon as they are detected, but there is the risk some may get to you undetected
the best way to catch them is to demand some sort of visual live feed on your computer of the person as soon as contact is made to verify they are the person that is advertised in the photo/ad
i have found this reduces the risk 99%

AfromRomance is Filled with FAKES. DON'T GO THERE. I thought at first it was a great idea for getting your preference and it could have been. Don't look for honest reviews out there, most of them are fakes too. So I have to warn anyone thinking of this site that, as with the recent lawsuits invloving Match.com, this site employs BAIT and TRAP methods. Meaning that they site purposely leaved handsome fakes to lure you into joining. It seemed to me that 3/4 of the male profiles (I cannot speak for the female) are FAKES. It got so that I could predict that any handsome man that flirted with me would never answer a with a response of any kind. Most used questionable english and very brief answers as though they were scared to slip up, which leads me to suspect they are the much heard of Nigerian Scam Artists responsible for more than half all the fraudulent internet accounts. These sites will eventually kill internet dating if someone doesn't put a stop to this practice.
