Affiliated Insurance In / Ripping elderly off

United States

My aunt recieved a letter in the mail today from this so called company named Affiliated Insurance INC claiming that she had won $225, 000.00 in the De-Lotto North American Lottery. Enclosed was a check for $4, 750.00 that she was supposed to cash and then send $3, 200.00 of it to this so called company via western union. Before she was to cash the check, however, she was required to call and speak with Raymond Cushe for "clarification and instruction on how to go about your winning claim" lol.

The sad thing is, she was about to go cash the check! I knew it was bogus from the get go. If something is too good to be true it usually is. But, I have to admit, the check looked so real. I later found out that other people have recieved the same checks...and some of them brought them to the bank where they were actually told that the check were legit!!!

I did alot of research online about these types of scams and I went so far as to look up the telephone # we were given to call. Turns out ts someones cell phone. Needless to say after I figured out what was going on, "Mr. Raymond Cushe" heared a few choice word from me on what I think of him and his operation of ripping off the elderly. Oh...and I reported it to the F.B.I.
