I can not believe that a show like Adventure Time is played on cartoon network for kids to watch. I believe it should be taken off the air! Immediately! How is it a PG cartoon? It has so many things wrong with it. In tonights episode they show 12 year old Finn dancing on a pole like a striper and his best friend the dog chugging some green stuff at a party in a red cup. While he drinks this liquid his friends are chanting "chug, chug". Then bugs booty dancing and at the end the dog is hypnotized by evil demons. It's really sad that this is on the air for kids to see. The show is not on adult swim, it's on along with all the other kid cartoons.

This cartoon is extremely inapropriate for children...I seen today it had S&M content. It was not just implied, it was acted out by the characters. I believe the cartoon needs to be switched to an adult viewing time...not immediately following Bugs Bunny It is no worse then the Simpson's, family guy, futureama, or America dad...so put it where it belongs...with adult cartoons.

And in response to the comments that kids are exposed to worse at school...yes they are and as a parent it is torture that we can not prevent that...but what is good is that we can control the amount of garbage that our poor children are exposed to in our homes. Kids have enough stuff thrown at them in this world...at least they can still be kids at home and not have adult content rammed down their throats.

Also in response to the comment "just don't let them watch it". The show follows immediately after bugs bunny ... If I had not of been in the room with the kids today I wouldn't of caught this show! As an adult it hillarious to watch but it needs to be put into a better time slot

I watched this episode where they were talking about the future of a baby growing up and how he could turn up a good adult like a "sexy hitman" . I was horrified and I am a very cool mom!

Parents, you don't want your kids to watch Adventure Time because it's inappropriate? You think it's going to teach them bad things? You should stop being so overprotective. All your going to do with that attitude towards things is create super rebellious teenagers who hate you in way, they will love you but hate you for sheltering them so hardcore. Would you let your kids watch Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, or any of those "wholesome, innocent" films for children? Well newsflash Disney puts subliminal messages in their movies! Subject matter ranging from sex to satanic symbology. So here you are complaining that AT is going to pollute your kids minds well maybe you need a reality check. Entertainment shouldn't be raising your kids YOU SHOULD... and you probably go around with a bad attitude all the time ### and moaning about everything, trying to find a scapegoat for why our world is so fu*ked up like every other idiot out there blaming guns for Sandy Hook and Adventure Time for hooliganism. You were most likely sowing your wild oats, tripping acid or X back in the college days, getting drunk off your as$ and fu*king anything with two legs. Stop pretending to be honorable and take some advice from Gandhi; be the change you want to see in the world. Because you already let morality slide back in the '60s you dumb [censored]. You wanted free love and sex, drugs, and rock n' roll? You got it. Don't like it? Too late.

I am a mom of 4 little kids. My husband has no edit radar when it comes to watch shows to put on for our children, but I can tell if a show is appropriate on not within seconds of walking into a room. My husband has been letting our children watch this show for a few days because they now have it on Netflix. I finally sat and watched for five minutes and frankly they speak in a way that if my children mimicked, I would not approve of. I have asked them not to watch this show any longer, because I want them to learn functional behaviors... Because I love and care about how they behave and I know that their behavior speaks of who they are.

If you don't want your kids watching it then don't let them watch it. Simple as that. Some of the complaints in this thread are just ignorant and selfish. Your kids will be exposed to much worse in school so being over protective isn't going to help them at all. Seriously, just put on Netflix for kids or get old DVDs from PBS if you don't want them exposed to it at your house.

Stop trying to ruin things that you don't agree with just because you don't agree with them.

I feel Adventure Time is not appropriate for the mental growth of our youth. Children spend more time in from of the TV today, unfortunately. Children are also very impressionable. The fact that they hear bad jokes and bad language at school should not be an excuse as to why they should be subject to it at home. Yes, I could tell my children to disregard the suggestive language, but that would be teaching my children to become numb to bad behavior. I don't want my children to ever be comfortable with bad behavior. I want to teach them to remove themselves from that kind of behavior and speak out against it. I can't control the children at school, but I can control my home. Our children should watch things that stimulate growth and creativity. Positive characters. I don't allow my children to watch Adventure Time. A lot of the shows on Cartoon Network have material that I don't find appropriate for children so I don't allow my children to watch them. It may seem minor because, after all, it's just a TV show for crying out loud. What I subject my children to at a young age follows them to adulthood whether it is a TV show or the language I use in my home.

Adventure Time actually actively encourages homosexuality. In one episode the dog-man Jake the dogman that my child and I watched to see if it was good, Jack the Dogman is KISSING A MAN and then he looks into the camera and says "That was good, wasn't it kids". That seriously happened.

I cannot believe that God has let the America from the 1980's theta I loved be turned into the America of 2012.

no one has really complained about the fact that adventure time has some really evil and disturbing episodes. for example the nightosphere? really the sucking of souls the consistent theme that evil seems to be portrayed in a cutesy way? ! this cartoon should be on hbo not cartoon network! whats going on with our society its getting more and more car-less to what really is appropriate for young children.

it isnt about if they understand it at that moment. simply psychology proves these ideas are being stored in their subconscious, so no they might not know what a stripper is dancing on a pole, or they might not understand what it means for an evil demon to be sucking out peoples souls, but please don't so nieve to think that these ideas aren't stored in their minds and can have negative affects on them later on. sure it doesn't seem to bad but im sure we all agree its full of negative nonsense, and id prefer my kids to have their minds filled with positive thoughts

Are you kidding me people? This show is great for kids! I'm thirteen, and me, my older brother Owen (16), little brother Nathan (10) all watch this show. It has an amazing story and a great cast of funny and lovable characters. Don't you dare say anything about this show. Just because you've seen an episode, doesn't mean you can judge it. How terrible of you parents, are we kids really more mature than you adults? To top it off, you adults don't use proper grammar, and you judge things that quickly? How despicable! Adventure Time is the perfect show suited for all ages, don't you go complaining about it and let us fans watch it in piece. Don't reply to me saying I misspelled something... that would make you look stupid. On the other hand, if you Adventure Time fans agree with me, tell the adults! This is the show I will tell everyone about, whether it be my friends, family, or even kids.

PS : Think about what I said. For other shows, don't go complaining about how there is something crude in it. This is a free country, and yes, you have the right to complain, but do you have the right to take away happiness from thousands? Think again.

Hello, parents. Let me respectfully address my concerns while reading your posts. I am 21 years old, I was raised watching Cartoon Network and Fox Kids and Nickelodeon and MTV. I thouroughly enjoyed Animaniacs, Powerpuff Girls, Scooby Doo, Ren and Stimpy and, of course, Japanese Animation. I, now, can still watch those shows and enjoy them from a different perspective and I encourage you to look for these videos on Youtube: FInger prints Animaniacs, Scooby Doo Harvey Birdma, Ren and Stimpy Adult Frenzy, Powrpuff Girls Accident... etc just to have a taste of the subtext that cartoon writers include to make the shows fun for every ages. Scooby Doo in the ayes of a kid is a bunch of kids solving mysteries. For a keen eye Scooby and Shaggy are two potheads, they always have the munchies and that is reason they are always laughing and getting in trouble...
Whenever my parents would keep me from watching at anything, that was the first thing I would look up in the internet. Whenever they would trade weird looks when something appeared on a show I would know for sure there was something bad on it, not before! And it really pissed me that they would not trust my criteria...
Adventure time is made for babies to enjoy because of all the colors and character design, for children to enjoy because of all the silly and random moments, and for teenagers and adults for the jokes and sub text that your daughters and sons will not be aware of until you, overprotective parents, get worried. Whenever your son goes to school and tell their friends he is not able to watch AT he will be bullied and left aside which is worse than anything. Smartest boys and girls are those who can watch anyhting with a critic eye. DONT YOU EVER BAN OR PROHIBIT ANYHING, BE BRAVE ENOUGH TO EXPLAIN THEM WHY ANYTHING IS RIGHT OR WRONG. In these times they will end up looking for advise on the internet if they cannot count in you, parents, into being the bigger men and women. And now, what really bothers me is that you keep seeing the bad when Adventure Time has a lot of moral teachings: not to steal, be loyal to your friends, dont be a bully, fight for what you believe, defend the weaker, hep others, etc etc etc. These shows will make your little kids think and learn much more than the cat chasing a mouse...

If you are under the age of 25 and have no children I consider any opinion you express on this subject moot and you have no business commenting on something that you know absolutely nothing about. Sure, when you have kids you may have a different opinion but I highly doubt you will because we learn from example and given some of the unearned opinions on this board that is unlikely to happen. I could give a s$&t if your brothers and sisters watch it and you think it is fine. That only describes to me the household in which you are being raised and I do my damnedest to protect my kids from children like you who hang onto the guise of oblivious parents as a defense. I've watched the show to give it a fair shake and I have made the conscious decision to strike it from what my kids can watch on TV. It has no business clouding the minds of those too young to watch it.

This show is ridiculously inappropriate for children. On an episode today one of the characters spit on another character. Spitting is already an undesirable behavior that is hard to break in some children, and this cartoon is showing them how to do it and telling them it is okay? This show should be on adult swim...

Try being a parent who wants only good for their children. A parent who wants and deserves to be respected by their children. Try working a 40+ hour a week job, do laundry and grocery shop, cook, clean and do dishes for 4+ family members every week year in and year out. All we " DUMB" parents are asking for are funny, entertaining programs for our children that we don't have to worry that they are learning inappropriate language like "sucks" and content that applies to college age adults. It's hard enough as "Good" parents to teach our kids good moral values and to respect, honor and protect themselves from those living for a paycheck and seemingly for themselves and not the welfare of "Our" children. Mine will not be watching Adventure Time, Sponge Bob or Fairly Odd Parents... As long as I have any say in the matter...

Okay, so "suck" and "freakin" aren't one of the words that most people consider to be curse words, however, I was raised not to say things like that because they are in place of bad words which will only turn into bad words. I absoultely hate it when I hear my seven year old son say "what the butt" which is something he heard on Adventure Time! Hey may as well be saying WTF because that's the point of the phrase, it just isn't admissable on cable television. Adventure Time is disgusting and comes on ALL day EVERY day. I do NOT allow my child to watch it, even if he doesn't get the jokes, there is still so much rudeness and adult themes that a seven year old doesn't need to be privy to. Yet he continues to whine and complain and beg me to watch it because he's the only kid in his class who isn't allowed to watch it. I believe if the parents of those kids took the time out to watch the show one time they would feel the same.
I read one comment in here that said it's the next generation of cartoons... well if that's the case then I feel sorry for the future where it will be okay and accepted for children to say "this freakin sucks" and things like that. Whatever happened to the flintstones, the jetsons, rainbow bright, heman and shera?
Random as it may be, it is NOT appropriate for children and I would be hard pressed to allow my son to watch it as a teenager as well, I'd just as soon allow him to watch The Simpsons before I allow him to watch this crap because that's all it is, 30 minutes of crap!

I don't understand how Adventure Time is inappropriate. There's nothing wrong with it besides the fact that it's THE BEST and one of the most successful cartoons on Cartoon Network. I'm 18, and i have two little brothers(one is 11 and the other 14) and we all watch and enjoy Adventure Time together. I watch the show almost everyday and don't see anything wrong with it. I get a lot of the jokes that are meant for teens and adults and my little brothers laugh at the randomness of the show. I could not ask for a better cartoon show. Funny & Clever. It's great in so many ways. I don't want any negativity being brought upon the show just because of some uptight parents think some of the content is inappropriate. If you wanna hear some inappropriateness, spend a day in elementary school and I guarantee you'll hear the kids using swear words and cursing, which I have never heard on AT so where are they getting from? hmmm? maybe you dumb parents...Have a good day people.

Adventure Time is a great television show. My sister (10 years old) and I (13 years old) love to watch it. I have heard MUCH MUCH worse at my school. This is why I get many of the jokes that are meant for parents to laugh at, but my sister laughs at the idea of a young boy traveling around with his dog and stopping villains, not the adult jokes. These jokes are for teenagers and parents to laugh at, younger children will not get them. Adventure Time teaches lessons, too, such as not to break promises. I have watched Adventure Time ever since it has been released on Cartoon Network and it is one of the most random, original, funny things I have watched. Please take my information as it is coming from myself, a child who loves to watch Adventure Time.

Look, people on the board who honestly don't know what they are talking about and it's ALL of you even the ones complaining about the complainer and whining that the show is ok.
NEWS FLASH: This show was made to be on ADULT SWIM in the first place. That is what it was originally intended for BUT ADULT SWIM rejected the idea. SO the show was TAMED CONSIDERABLY for Cartoon network to pick up. Trust me it's a lot more gory, sexual, and crazy than the randomness and suggestive nature that it is now.
IT WAS NEVER INTENDED FOR CHILDREN IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Leave it to adults who don't fact check anything. Oh yes and if you don't want you children to watch feel free to just make them not watch it until you think they can handle it. That's pretty easy to do.

@photographer9
You are, in fact, a liar. Or you just have horrible hearing. Finn NEVER says "###" in the show. He said "butt" which is not offensive.

Seriously people, you can't take a couple jokes that your kids won't understand anyways? Kids love this show and unless you're a horrible parent they won't get some of the dirtier jokes which are aimed at the older audience. If you don't like it then have your kids not watch the show. If most parents agree to do this because they don't like it then they won't be getting enough views and therefore the show will be cancelled. But that's not going to happen because many parents will find nothing wrong with it and kids will love it because it's such a great show.

The next season of Adventure Time starts tonight and it's an awesome show. For all you parents over reacting to some of the things like the pole dance scene or the seven minutes in heaven scene, Children too young to understand it won't get it. If one of the characters uses language you think your child shouldn't say then just explain to them that its a bad word and don't repeat it but for gods sake let them watch the show. The somewhat "Subliminal messages" scenes are to attract teenagers and older viewers. I highly doubt filing a complaint will work either, Adventure Time is currently one of cartoon networks most successful shows. For those of you who say "But the show is exposing my child to things I don't want them to be." They are being exposed at school every day. I learned almost every dirty joke, swear word, and *ahem* other things, when I was in school. (Private schools don't fix that either FYI). The kids around here seem to really enjoy the show and even I watch it for laughs. I hope the show lives. It's the next generation of cartoons guys get with the groove or get left behind your choice. Oh and the guy above me photographer9, Finn doesent say ### he says butt, not once have I heard adventure time use vulgarity. (Depends if you count "friggen" and "sucks" as vulgar but whatever.) If the show even used one vulgar word it would be moved to adult swim. Even the complaint is wrong Finn is NOT 12. Last seasons last episode confirmed that Finn is 14 years old. Please do your own research on the show before reviewing it. Kinda sick of seeing reviews about the show having false facts. Whatever you guys think about Adventure Time is up to you but I hope this small section of text made you see a bit more light.

Adventure should be discontinued. Today in an episode Finn asked Jake 'Hey did you snif my ###?' and then Jake asked Finn 'did you lick me all the way to my arm'. What type of language is this? Why is it allowed even for a 13 year old? Adventure time is not acceptable. It should go away.

I think not.. Stuff like this has been around ALL THE TIME! Hell look at all the old cartoon movies lady LOTS of adult related stuff... I couldn't agree more with 'xbellx'. I think the children enjoy it because it seems differnt and random. They probably don't know anything about what you complainers pointed out. So if they see Finn dancing on a pole, the kids automaticly wanna become a pole dancer? They see Finn get possessed by party demons, they want to become possessed too? When they see the dancing bug, it's randomly halerious to them. You guys are over reacting.

i was just watching/listening to an episode with my 6 year old daughter and I heard one of the characters say, "Oh, he is so freaking cute." I think that is totally inappropriate for children to hear on their programs . This cartoon was on during a Friday afternoon at 4:30pm, nowhere near Adult Swim. Will not be watching and will not watch Cartoon Network unless it's Scooby Doo.

I actually came on here looking for like minded people. i have just viewed an episode of 'Adventure Time' and was disturbed at the fact a 'Magic Man' turned a bird inside out! Why is this relevant to anything that children would find a entertaining or b educational?! Should be banned as should all programmes that contain materiel that quite frankly does not NEED to be on tv for our children to watch! I just dont see the point.

ahahahah that is awesome more subversive humour, there were heaps of cartoons like tht when i was a kid, my mum and dad would laugh and i would see the kid side of it. Now watching this stuff it is hilarious to see children liking the cartoony side and myself cracking up at the (mild adult undertones).
The simple fact of it is if you don't want your kids watching it then switch it off don't ruin it for other kids who either have a sense of humour or enjoy seeing fun animation.

Ok, there are such things as reasonable complaints and then there are complaints that are just way out there. Do you think kids who watch this show know what stripper poles are, or know that those cheap plastic cups from the dollar store are used for drinking alcohol? No, they don't. Obviously they're going to know something is wrong if you suddenly ban them from watching the show, but in all honesty, it seems you're stretching it a bit. I have seen previous episodes (had no problem with them and thought they were quite entertaining for older kids) and watched this episode especially to see what your complaints were. Really, I don't see anything wrong. The dancing was just silly, and quite frankly, I've seen worse on Spongebob. The green drink was specified as a smoothie and in other episodes, there are certain things the dog and kid drink that are the juice from made up fruits with ridiculous names. And have you never experienced a kid drinking a pop while kids yelled, "chug!". This was a regular in my classrooms growing up and never even knew it was associated with alcohol until I was much older. The show is supposed to be random and ridiculous, which is probably why shows like this and Spongebob, Fairly Odd Parents, etc become so popular. In the end, you decide what your kids can watch, but its my opinion that you'll be doing much worse by telling them they can't watch an innocent show with a few bathroom humour jokes because mommy was making mountains out of molehills. Btw, kids are smart. If they're curious as to why something is inappropriate, they will find out, so you're better off not making that connection obvious to them.
