Ordered Acai 500 never recieved product or refund Invoice 1737148 sent an email that states please allow 72 hours for response I gave them a week no reply. It was suppose to be a free trail was charged 45.82 the same day with the 4.99 shipping and handling. Still am waiting for the product that wasn't recieved and had to close my account to keep them from charging even more. I didn't order anything for 45.82 and want my charges reversed.I will also be contacting the BBB and the FTC.

I ordered a trial sample and was to only pay for s/h and within a few days they charged my cc 78.81. It took me till 12/17/08 to get the RMA #. I called several numbers that noone ever answered and was given several web sites and no repsonse. I did receive 3 email messages telling me that I needed to call the 866 # but without success. I finally contacted my cc company and we started the dispute process. I also contacted my State Attorney Generals office and filled out some forms to report Advanced Wellness of unfair business practices and I also filed a complaint with the BBB. All in said, we cancelled my cc and reissued me a new one. I finally today after receiving a 3rd email from customer service to call [protected]. I had called the [protected] on 12/12/08 and spoke with Jaime who said I did not qualify for the RMA # because I did not call within 14 days and cancel! What a line of bull! I had proof that I started calling on 11/25/08 and left tons of messages and no one returned the calls plus all the emails that I sent and kept copies of. I have a file on this company that is a manuscript. After receiving the 3rd email 12/16/08 and gave me the 877 # I got thru within 5 minutes but Rebecca was a hard cookie to deal with. She gave me what for for not wanting to keep the product. I advised her that I was not paying 78.81 and my husband did not want me to take it. I went to great extremes to get this RMA and no one should have this much problem. They need to be investigated and need to have a class action suit against them for fraudulent activities. Be persistant and don't give up. Keep track of everything. Get names, dates and phone numbers down and record phone conversations if needed.

Ordered Acai Berry Supplement on Jan. 6, 2009. Received product on Jan. 10th. Called my Doctor to confirm safety of product and was told to steer clear!
I looked up The company's website to get their number and found the Complaints Board site. I began to read the "horror" stories about being charged and not getting thru. I read one complaint (from Wanda B.) which gave a number [protected] which actually is [protected]. This is a Sunday night around 7:30 PM. I called the number and got right thru. The guy spoke very broken english, but, seemed to be helpful. Told to cancel -- he asked why -- I said Doctor's orders -- he said my account was cancelled -- I asked for RMA# -- he said not necessary; gave me the Idaho address to return product. I have yet to see if he was tell me the truth, I will follow up.
I suggest calling that number "OFF" hours to better chances. Also, maybe a man's voice makes a differnce... Get your spouse or male friend to call for you. Good Luck! CS

I purchased 60ct bottle of pure acai berry. Offer read pay for shipping and handling to try it out. Then 2 weeks later they charged my card $78.81. After calling them to get my money back, they finally gave me only $60.00 back. They claimed the ad read free 2 week trial and then they charge. They actually put that charge through my bank at a time when it was low, and I got charged an overdraft fee.

The Pure Acai Berry is a scam they do overcharge you and refuse to give you a refund, I have reported them to the BBB. The product might work, but I don't even want to take it because of how unprofessional they are. They need to make you more aware of the charges after 14 days if you do not cancel. Please read the fine print at the bottom of the page before you decide to get the free trial for 4.99. It will end up being 78.81 plus the 4.99 plus some .15 charge!

They seem to be one of the "typical" scam in which they "offer" a product for a special price during the trial period, but in fact, they later on keep charging your credit card at a very high cost per unit and keep doing it until you cancel your card. As you may see in the string of complaints, they have changed their customer service numbers several times and as matter of fact the [protected] seem to be disconnected by now. I recommend for you to change your credit card # as I did before they do the "scam charges" as I call them.

I foolishly ordered a trial of Acai Berry for 4.99. I tried to cancel the product and could not reach a representative. Don't do it. Candel your credit cards now if you did.
What was I thinking.
I have also registered my complaint with my bank.

I bought the Acai berry initial package and then cancelled the next order. The acai berry does not work in any way. I was billed $78.00 for the next order that I had cancelled, never received the order and they will not refund the money. I called the company twice. The people who answer their phone must be in a home. The background noise sound like children and tv. They do not speak english well. I can hear them perfectly although they consistently tell me they cannot hear me and that I am breaking up. I have to wait 30 minutes on hold before I even get a person and then they give me the run around about not being able to hear. They ask me to call back and then I get the 30 minutes on hold again and then they still can't hear me. I have called twice and it's the same scenario. I'm pretty upset. I think this is a terrible scam.

WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE MY ACCOUNT WAS CHARGED 89...FOR ACAI BERRY FREE TRIAL...THEN IT WAS CHARGED AGAIN FOR A SECOND ONE I DID NOT WANT...SPEAKING TO PEOPLE FROM A FOREIGN COUNTRY WHO IS INSTRUCTED NOT TO GIVE ANY SATISFACTION WHATSOEVER...GIANT SCAM

I ordered the free trial of Acai Berry from Advanced Wellness Research. When it arrived, I noticed that it contained a lot of caffeine which I'm not supposed to use. I didn't notice that my credit card account had been charged $78.81 until after the 14 day trial period. When I called them, I got someone named "Jennifer" who could barely speak English and after battling with her for an hour, I was told since I didn't call back before the 14 day trial was up, I would be charged. I called my credit card company to dispute the charge, but since I didn't respond before the trial period was up, I was obligated to pay. Today, I received another bottle of the worthless pills in the mail and looked at my credit card online and, sure enough, there was another charge for $83.80. I called the company and they first said something about I didn't call before the 14 days, yada, yada, yada. I then explained I already paid THAT charge - - what about the one on my account this month. I cancelled - - I didn't want anymore of their pills! After another battle, they told me I would have to pay the $4.99 shipping, but could keep the pills and they would credit my account for $78.81. This is a giant scam! Please don't order anything from them!

I never ordered anything. Received the product and was told by Advanced Wellness that someone must have used my credit card account. Was charged $4.99 for the shipping as well as $4.99 from some dermatologist. I was told to call my credit card company which I did and had to cancel the credit card. This company is a total scam.

Advanced Wellness Research has obviously made millions of dollars scamming people. One signs up for a "Free" sample but it looks like in most cases (certainly in mine) the recipient gets hit for at least one, usually two, $80+ fees.

When I called, the representative at Advanced said that returning the product (which was still sealed) would be useless and that I should have read the "terms & conditions" of the free sample offer.

There really should be a class action against this company and something should be done to make them stop this theft!

I also was scammed by Advanced Wellness Research when I ordered the free trial Acai Berry supplement and was expecting to pay the $4.99 shipping. I did not see the stipulation that you had to cancel within 14 days or they would continue monthly shipments at $83.80. I immediately cancelled my credit card and called the company to cancel the shipments. They said that they could not locate my order because I no longer had my order number. What a scam! I have no choice but to pay the $78.81 and $83.80 that I was charged and will know better for another time.

I too have been victimized by this company (Advanced Wellness Research). I only placed an order for the trial package, expecting to pay $4.99 for shipping and handling. Here I am 3 months later, and over $300 in the hole, with 4 of their unopened packages on my desk.
I have tried everything I could think of, to both stop any further shipments, and get credit for the 4 packages I never ordered, to no avail.
These people need to be taught a lesson. In today's ecnomic climate (recession, unemployment, etc) $300+ is a lot of money to have taken
from you, without your consent. My only mistake was that I didn't research the company before placing the trial order. I, like many others
was taken in by their use of Oprah Winfrey's picture in their add, as if she had tried and endorsed their product (which would make it legitimate). What a scam! In case anyone is having trouble contacting these ripoff artists, I finally found a number where someone actually picked up and promised to cancel my account. I even got a cancellation number! The phone number is: [protected].

I also have been going aroung the globe to India. [protected]. I was changed 78.81 and when I called to ask for a refund, the person I spoke with advised me that I would receive a 40.00 refund, but only on the next shipment, which I didn't order and didn't want. offered several times that all future shipments would be $23.80! I called again the next day after finding the $83.80 charge on by bank account. I refused to hang up until someone agreed to a refund.First I was told that all floor supervisors and managers were in a conference for the next 2 HOURS. after 30 mins, I was givent to a :supervisor" who proceeded to tell me that no one in the company would authirize a refund OR even give me a return authorization. My next move is to report this to the Fl Attny General and thinking of checking for blogs for Oprah or Rachel Ray. I don't think they would be very happy to know that their names and repputations are being used in this way.
I'm sorry to have to join this ever-growing group.

I read the horror stories as well. Called to cancel from the numbers above as well before eveining recieving a notification of the order. Reprsentative again spoke broken english. Said they could not cancel since it hasn't been sent. I explained that i didn't want anything posted to my credit card. Rep assured me i would be able to cancel. Asked why. Told him that this product was plaster all over internet with problems and horror stories. Said that he should research the product he is selling and stop reading a script. I immediately called my credit card company and had my acccount documented. They assured me that they would block all charges going froward from this company and that after the transaction posts they will reverse the charges and remove it from my account. Thanks to all who post warning for other people. Lessoned learned. I shouldn't have let my guard down on something like this. Normally I don't fall for things, but with Rachel Ray endorsing I trusted. Very disspointed in her as well. I got through on the [protected]. Good Luck and don't fall for it.

They charged me for two bottles of Acai Berry and was given a credit back for $78.81, was told by an agent once I send the 2 bottles back I would get a refund for the other bottle. I insured the package and wrote the RMA # on both the packaging label and inside the slip along with my address and name and order order #. I waited two weeks, but didn't see a credit back to my account, contacted the company and was told that my package was lost (how could they knew, when they didn't even check? was just an EXCUSE), luckily I bought insurance. I contacted USPS, they sent me a letter stating that the package was delivered. I contacted Advanced Wellness Research and told them that I had the letter and they needed to credit me back for the other bottle. They told me that they get millions of returns and they won't be able to locate my package, they needed my RMA# (I trusted the company and also I bought insurance from USPS) why would I need to write it down. They then told me that they were unable to credit me back. I demanded to speak to a manager the agent told me that they were in a meeting, how weird that every time I called and demanded to speak to a manager they were in a meeting? I finally got to speak to a supervisor and was told the same excuses that I was told by the agent (maybe it wasn't even a supervisor? I could barely understand what they were saying) I was then told to e-mail over the copy of the letter from the postal service and I would get a refund. 1 day later they e-mailed me and said they can't because the need the RMA# (shouldn't they have it since on of their agents gave it to me?) Excuses after excuses! The company is a FRAUD!

I also foolishly fell for the FREE TRIAL. First thing is they give you 15 days to try the free trial before they charge you. When you recieve the bottle it says "most people do not see results until the third month". Well that spells SCAM in my book. I guess that goes back to Nothing is free. I can not get a hold of anyone on the [protected] number provided. It tells you that they have a high call volume and you can reach them on thier email. When you email they do not respond. Lesson learned. Exercise and eating right is the only way to loose weight!

I was charged for the initial "trial" bottle. On 3/13/09 they charged me another $78.81 and on 3/30/09 they charged me $83.80. I received another bottle with the 3/30 charge but nothing when I was charged on 3/13. I am thoroughly disgusted that they can be allowed to get away with this. I have filed a dispute with my credit union and I should be reimbursed. Hopefully, Visa will go after these thieves with everything they've got. Tried calling the number on their so called invoice but the only person who could speak non-broken English is the girl on the recording that first comes on. After that you may speak with Sara or Jennifer or Damien but I would have to assume these are not their real names but rather an Americanized version of their birth names. I was forced to cancel my debit card so that I don't constantly have to monitor my account to ensure that they haven't stolen any more of my hard earned money. Shame on them! I will never again order a trial of anything and that's really sad for the honest, upstanding merchants. I

On March 30th a purchase of 78.81 was charged to my account also and I am afraid to close my account in the instance I may get my money back. Advanced Wellness Research is a SCAM. Please, anybody considering ordering Acai Berry products from them, DO NOT DO IT! They charged my credit card two times w/o my knowledge and I returned products to them. You can never reach them by phone or e-mail. If you do happen to get them by phone, it's a foreigner you can't comprehend and it does no good. I have sought legal help just to shut them down! If anybody else who has been scammed by them would step forward and complain to the proper authorities (Better Business Bureau, stage attorney general, attorneys, etc.) maybe we can have them arrested and shut down. It makes me mad to know that people like this exist just to scam innocent, trusting people and they need to be shown and stopped. Everyone, please help SHUT THEM DOWN.

i don't know why everyone is thinking this is a scam. i personaly tried the product, i was satisfied.you have within your 14 day trill to cancle, or call to extend your trial. everything is stated in the terms and conditions. sorry but if you guys didn't read the terms and conditions that is your own fault. Honestly if that was just a add, that could have been linked to someone is house. but still you guys gave out your banking information. at least advance wellness reaserch gives you that opertunity to cancle. if some crazy hacker freak had your banking information. what chance would you have then? that why they have TERMS AND CONDITIONS... It is there for you to READ.. it states... within your 14 day free trial if you you do not call in and cancle you will be billed on the 15 day for 78.81. if you still don't cancle you will be sent a aditional bottle of pills every 30 days.. what is so hard to understand?

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM Don't do it. I was charged just like the rest of you for 78.81 for the initial bottle. Called to cancel anddid get a refund for $70 but was then charged again $83.80 . What a scam. I called and argued for 1/2 hour and insisted I get my refund and was given every excuse why they could not. They make the rules up as they go along. I am so angry I was taken advantage of this way. No paperwork or invoice ever came with the product with directions to canel and they were never authorized to keep charging my account when I thought I only getting charged for $4.99 shipping. DON'T do it !
Product doesn't work . . . It's a SCAM !
I n Feb 2009 I ordered the trial for $1.99. Charge came thru as $2.39.
Then 3/3/09 my card was charged $79.44. Called my bank as soon as it showed up. Said it would take 10 days - Took longer and by the time I was getting that cleared another charge appears on 3/19/09 for $84.47. Didn't receive any product. Never used the original product because it caused severe stomach problems.
My bank couldn't reverse the charges because of some technicality.
Called [protected] and got someone who doesn't speak English (go figure).
Cancelled my card.

Someone put this on this Complaint board

Got this from the ABC News website:

Consumers Warned to Avoid 2 Supplement Sales Sites
BBB warns consumers of 2 companies that use Oprah, other celebrity names, to sell supplements
NEW YORK January 7, 2009

The BBB on Monday named Central Coast Nutraceuticals Inc. of Phoenix and FX Supplements of Arlington, Texas, as two companies that engage in misleading sales and marketing practices. At least part of the issue is their use of "negative option marketing" techniques that require customers to cancel recurring orders or membership in ongoing programs they may or may not be aware they've signed up for. BBB said it received numerous complaints from consumers who found it difficult to cancel the orders, and were often charged multiple times.

BBB also criticized the companies for using what appear to be endorsements from Oprah Winfrey, Rachel Ray and other celebrities for their products to lure customers in. "They knew they had a gold mine here by using Oprah's name, " said BBB spokeswoman Alison Preszler-Southwick.

Both Web sites feature photos of and comments made by Winfrey and others regarding the reported health benefits of acai (pronounced AH-sigh-ee), along with identical photo montages of other stars who have purportedly used acai to boost their diets. While neither site specifically claims endorsement of their products, the BBB said the tactic misled consumers who thought the products were getting the nod of approval from their favorite stars.

DO NOT order this product...what a scam! I was charged 78.81 for my "free" trial. I was told I would only be charged a shipping fee of $4.99, what a lie! Furthermore, I never saw results as promised on the website. Because I wasn't noticing any results I stopped taking the pills and then I was sent a second bottle. I called the company and asked what I was being charged and was told $83.80...that amount was NEVER shown on the shipping invoince, infact, no amount was shown on the invoice. The frist time I called to cancel, they system was "down" and so they couldn't help me. I called today to cancel and the guy on the phone kept on saying...it clearly states the reflected amount of 78.81...unbelievable! Anyway, I told the guy I wasn't going to argue and to refund my money for the second bottle which he said he would do. After reading all of these complaints I am now going to call my bank to put a "stop payment" on this company so they can't charge me for future bottles. I also plan on contacting the Attorney General of Florida to file a complaint so we can shut their doors! Seriously, this product DOES NOT work and this company is taking our money! DO NOT order this product!

sorry to hear that all you got scammed, i thought at first i got a good deal i was supposed to get a 14 day trial but when i opened the package there was a 30 day supply in the bag, i thought it was good, but when i found all this the night i opened the package i said darn, but 1 thing i no its bad but in future use prepaid visa like i did, but i now know the truth that i would have been charged the 78.81 if i used a regular credit card, so in a way they scammed theirselves, i have the product but i am not sure what is in the product so i am out 5 bucks an sad to see so many out of bigger money, i will not use their product an i hope they go to jail for this scam they are doing an i hope the government will check their product so no one will get hurt from taking this,

I fell for the same scam, sorry I tried the product. Bank told me to cancel my account. Which I have done. I keep calling them and either it keeps rings or very lode music, when they do answer their technical support is not working or they cannot get the computer up and running. I cancel my lst trial order but they sent it and then charged my account for $78.81. I have made at lease 8 phone call in two days and no results. [protected] I hope to resolve this problem Kay
