BEWARE! DO NOT BUY FROM ADORABLEPETZ! THEY SELL SICK PUPPIES & RIP PEOPLE OFF!

On November 18, 2008, we bought a maltipoo puppy from adorablepetz.com in San Antonio, Texas. The puppy was an apricot & white female & she was the most beautiful puppy that we had ever seen. She was our family Christmas gift & we gave her the perfect name, "Angel". We were not aware that she would soon be exactly that, an angel in Heaven.
I recieved an email from adorablepetz stating that the puppy would be shipped on November 26, 2008. We live 3 hours from the atlanta airport, but it took 5 hours to get there with the holiday traffic. When we arrived there was no puppy! I called Joe & he told me there was a problem with his id being expired so the airline would not allow him to ship the puppy. He told me to stay there because he was sending Sylvia to the airport to ship our puppy. We stayed around Atlanta with our children, which was very hard since our son is a 2 yr old with special needs & we had been gone most of the day. We continued calling Joe & Sylvia on both cell phone numbers, but they would not answer or return our calls. Joe finally answered & told us they would send the puppy another day. We were very aggravated about all of this so Joe said he would refund us $50.00 to cover this trip. We were still upset, $50.00 did not cover our gas, food, time, hassle for this trip & my husband taking the day off from work to go with me. He should have known that his id was expired before this happened. So we spend several hours in traffic to get back home.
I called on November 27, 2008. Sylvia told me they would send the puppy on November 28, 2008 & gave me the the flight information.
On November 28, 2008, we called Continental to make sure the puppy was being sent & they said the puppy had been dropped off about 6:00am & would be shipped. We drove back to Atlanta again & this time we did receive the puppy, but she was very sick. She had diarrhea all in her crate and was so weak that she was just lying in it, she was also coughing, sneezing, and her nose was running with green snot. We stopped at Petco on the way home & had them clean the puppy off since the diarrhea was all over her. While we were there Sylvia called us, we told her what was going on & she said this is normal, puppies will do this from the stress of the flight. She said to give the puppy nutrical, food & water and make sure it eats & it would be fine & to call her back if the puppy would not eat so she could tell me what to do to make her eat.
When we got home the puppy still would not eat or drink & was getting weaker. I called Sylvia & Joe repeatedly until around 12:15am. No Answer. I gave the puppy nutrical every few hours & forced her to drink with a syringe, I boiled chicken breast & tried to force her to eat it & canned food, but she would not eat. By morning she was so weak that she could not stand, we would pick her up, but she just fell over.
I took her to the vet as soon as they opened. The vet said she had neumonia & she must have been sick before she was shipped because she could not get sick & it turn into neumonia in 1 day. Again I tried to call Joe & Sylvia repeatedly. No Answer. The vet gave her IV's & tried his best to save her, but he called me a few hours later to inform me she died. Adorablepetz did refund the price I paid for the puppy, but not until 2 1/2 months later after I threatened to take them to court, but they refused to refund the shipping cost & the vet bills even though the puppy was sick before it was shipped.
Later I found out that about 25 other people who bought puppies from adorablepetz before Christmas had also recieved sick puppies that died within a few days & they never got refunds.

DO NOT BUY FROM ADORABLEPETZ! They sell sick puppies & rip people off!

I (Mary Spry) did not state that the puppy developed neumonia. I said the puppy died of neumonia which the vet wrote a letter stating that the puppy had been sick for at least 48 hours before I recieved her due to the severity of her sickness & how quickly she died. The puppy died in less than 18 hours after she got off the airplane.The vet said that if the puppy had developed neumonia on the flight she would not have gotten that sick & died that quickly, That it would have been a few more days before she died if it was developed on the flight. Therefore the puppy was sick before she was shipped.
I did not sign or agree to any contract saying that shipping is non-refundable. Since the puppy was sick before it was shipped, the shipping cost & vet bill are due to be refunded to me by adorablepetz.

Please don't make the mistake of buying from these people! They are a puppymill! Check them out for yourself. Just type in any of their names (Joe Lozano, Sylvia Guerra, adorablepetz, adorable petz) on the internet & you will find plenty of complaints about them. You can also call the San Antonio, Texas Police Department's Animal Cruelty Division. They have already shut them down once & have a case against them right now to shut them down again.

~~~~~~~~~UPDATE!~~~~~~~~~~~~
In December I bought another Maltipoo puppy from a breeder in Nebraska named Peggy Sherman. The puppy was shipped to me in 24 degree weather & arrived perfectly healthy. He is now 6 months old & weighs 2 pounds. He has never had any problems. My vet said he is super healthy & came from a great breeder so now I am buying another puppy from Mrs. Sherman. If you feel ready to buy a puppy you should call Mrs. Sherman at [protected]. She gives a 2 year heath guarantee on all her puppies. Her puppies are raised in the house & under feet, (Not in cages outside like adorablepetz).
BEWARE! DO NOT BUY FROM
myspoiledpuppy.com or adorablepetz.com
THEY ARE BOTH JOE LOZANO & SYLVIA GUERRA!
Do not buy from myspoiledpuppy.com! It is also Joe Lozano & Sylvia Guerra from adorablepetz.com! They use a different name, Phone number & email, but if you call the phone number it is Joe Lozano's voice on the voicemail message.
As for the comment above, We already knew that adorablepetz had been shut down & all their puppies were confiscated. Everyone assumed that the puppies that were taken from them had been euthanized because most of the puppies that were sold by adorablepetz died of diseases that were uncurable & contagious. That means the puppies that were taken from adorablepetz had the diseases too. There is no need for expensive medical care if the puppy is going to die anyway because it has an uncurable disease. It would also be animal cruelty to put the puppies through any more pain & suffering if they are going to die anyway. Thank you, Mr. Joe Lozano for your comment above which confirmed that your puppies were sick when you stated that they were denied medical care, you have also confirmed that they were euthanized which confirms to everyone that all of the complaints on various websites about adorablepetz is true because ACS does not euthanize healthy puppies. Everyone please beware of adorablepetz as in the comment above Mr. Lozano has confirmed everything that you have been reading about adorablepetz selling sick, unhealthy puppies. Also beware of myspoiledpuppy.com because it is also Joe Lozano & Sylvia Guerra of adorablepetz using a different name & phone number to try to trick people into buying from them.
I'm not the one leaving poor sick animals untreated to die & ripping people off by selling them sick puppies! It is obvious who the sicko is...Adorablepetz! If I was going to stalk you Mr. Lozano, I would be in Texas instead of Georgia! Let me guess, you want to call this internet stalking. Ha! Ha! You are just mad Mr. Lozano because I have warned people about you & you aren't making enough money ripping people off anymore & your afraid that you might have to get a real job & actually work.
Update by Mary
May 07, 2009 12:13 am EDT
How much I am on my computer is none of your concern, Mr. Lozano & Ms. Guerra. You are just worried about how much time I spend on my computer because you are afraid that I might be turning more people away from buying from you. I am not unbelievable or annoyed, everyone can see from all the things that I have posted on various websites with my name "Mary Spry" attached to them that I am not afraid of you so I don't need to use a fake name. Obviously, you are the WUSS since you feel the need to use a fake name even though we all know who you really are.
It is also obvious that your business is hurting since you felt the need to start another website (myspoiledpuppy.com) using a different name & phone number so that people would not know who you are. And everyone knows that your business did slow down because your puppies were confiscated recently & if you are still finding homes for lots of puppies you would not have time to sit around commenting on these websites & you would not care what people were saying if it wasn't hurting your business. You might have sold a puppy to someone who read my complaint & all of the other complaints about you, but if that is true then I'm sure they bought it from your myspoiledpuppy.com website so they did not know that they were buying from you. And when their puppy has problems they will be complaining about you with the rest of us.
So say what you want WUSS, but everyone sees that I am not afraid to say what I think about you & I am not afraid to post my name to it either. We see who the Wuss is again in the end where the contact number is Sylvia Guerra's number because Joe Lozano is not man enough to deal with complaint calls. If anyone tries to call either of you with a complaint thay will see what a wuss you both are since neither of you will answer the phone at either number when you know it is a complaint. Every person who has posted things about you has stated that when they had problems with their puppies neither of you would answer or return their calls. That's what I call a Wuss!
Hi Annoyed, No they did not provide the name of the breeder. They would never tell us who they get the dogs from because if they did people would buy from that breeder for less money & they don't want that to happen because they will not sell as many puppies.
I have already filed complaints & sent my story to complaints board, /link removed/ Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of consumer protection, ksat news in San Antonio, TX., Continental Airlines, & the San Antonio, TX. Police Department's Animal Cruelty Division. The last one requested copies of all info that I have so I sent them all the home phone & cell phone calls, emails, a notorized letter of my story, paypal reciept, shipping reciept, health certificate, shot record, vet records, vet bill, & my vet wrote a letter to them too. They also have access to all the complaints that I have posted on the internet so they can see what other people are saying about adorablepetz.
Thank you for commenting on my complaint & thank you for the list of ontacts. I will contact them as soon as possible so they will also be aware of what Joe & Sylvia are doing. Thanks again!
PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BREEDER! He has so many reports has already been shut down once and is probably going to be shut down once again very soon! I bought my little girl puppy and 2 days later I took her to the vet and he recommended a fecal exam because the puppy was not full of life and was very sleepy the test showed that she was full of worms and parasites I immediately got her medicine and was treating her for a week she has continous dirrahea and was pooping out worms she didnt seem to be getting any better so I took her to the vet and he said that she was still loaded with parasites which was very unusual for a puppy her size and that she must of received them from whomever I bought her from ( MYSPOILEDPUPPY.COM) (JOE LOZANO) I got more medicine and the next morning she slowly drifted off and passed away! I contact Joe Immediately and he said that he would gladly replace the puppy...Can anyone tell me one good reason I would want another possibly sick puppy? After letting him no that I did not want to receive another puppy from him and told him that I would settle for the payments of the vet bills $200 and he agreed as long as I stopped "bashing him on the web" I asked for his email for 2 days he finally sent it to me so that I could email the vet bills after sending it I soon received an email notifying me that the email had failed and that the email address wasn't valid! I contacted him immediately and let him no that it was no longer about the money and that I was going to do whatever I can to get him shut down once again! Please everyone if you are even considering buying a dog from him and his unhealthy puppy mill after reading this please take your time and read the other dozen plus reports about him and everyone else having the same exact problems! Please take Caution and realize he is running a puppy mill and selling sick dogs! I beg you not to buy a dog from this breeder google...joe lozano puppies and read all the reports!
I also bought 2 puppies from these people in Jan of 2009 and thank goodness they were in good enough health. But they were misleading in a couple of areas. First I was told they were older than they were and that they could eat solid food, well they were maybe 4 weeks old at the most, way to young to be taken away from their mothers. 2nd problem was that I was told they were both teacup and would'nt get any bigger than about 4-5 lbs and now they are both 13-15 lbs. 3rd issues was I was told I was buying maltipoos and one ended up being basically just a poodle and the other one a shiz tzu mix. I believe they are just a puppymill.
We bought a puppy from Joe Lozano and Sylvia Guerra on December 18, 2010. We brought the puppy home and gave her to my children for Christmas. That evening, the puppy wouldn't eat and had a seizure. I called Joe and he told me to bring her to him so he could take her to his vet. I felt uneasy taking her back but wanted to follow the instructions on the guarantee. He told us to call him that night and he would let us know what the vet said. I called all night and until noon the next day. I started to read about the complaints in between that time. He told me that the puppy had coccidius and that she would be fine. I called to check on her every day. The reports started to get worse. He told me that her sugar levels were low and that she might be getting diabetes. After a week, I called and he said the puppy didn't make it. I asked who the vet was and he refused to tell me because he said it was a conflict of interest. The vet would have told me if he had been a responsible pet owner or not. My children have been the ones to suffer through all of this. I requested a refund and he refued saying that honored the contract. We have contacted our lawyer and are taking further steps in bringing this breeder to justice.
Unbelievable I actually just bought a Maltipoo for someone in universal city. It was from a guy named mikke/miguel he said he got my maltipoo from his sister cause she was selling them He ended up being very sick and now i've racked up about 500 dollars in vet bills with this puppy he's almost better now. I'm really pissed this guy always is posting new ads selling these dogs. I already explained my complaint on here. I just want to shut this guy down.
And them responding to this post, legitimizes your story more and more. What [censored]es.
We too went to the home in Castorville on Sunday (July 19). We purchsed the dog, brought it home and on the 10P news saw where Mr. Lozano has beenrecognized by many as "selling sick puppies". We tried to call that evening two times with no answer. I was fortunate enough to have a bank that has 24 hour service and I cancelled my check. We called the next morning on several occassions to try to get the scoope on what we just heard on the news and to let Joe know that we actually did cancel the check and would not give him any money until we were sure the puppy was OK. I took her to the vet that day (Monday) where the vet has started her on treatment to try to ward off anything the puppy may have contracted. When I showed the vet the 1 page "guarantee" that Joe had given me, he confirmed that there was another lady in about 1-2 weeks prior with a puppy that she had purchsed from Joe. The vet suspected parvo. Right now we are keeping a very close eye on our puppy (actually my soon to be six year old's birthday present) and praying that she is OK. I pray that the other two puppies that were there are still OK.
I encourage all of you to file complaints... with San Antonio and Castorville Police Departments and with the Humane Societies in those area... and anyone else you can think of. We did and still are!
We also bought a puppy TWO days ago from these two people in Castroville in their home. Now she is dying. Cannot get them to call me back now the puppy is sick, although they were easily reached when they were trying to sell the puppy. The doctor thinks she may have parvo, although the first test came out negative, in any event, no matter what she has, she was bought sick and now she is about to die. It is heart wrentching- things my kids will too be affected by. Joe, please honor your contract and refund our money... it is clear there is a history here.
It makes me sad to write this report, but they haven't shown be they care, and the next person should know. Nancy
Marielena, thanks for posting, continue to do so with everyone, [redacted] is a good one too. Also, contact Joseph Flores of the San Antonio Animal Control Police and share your story. I don't have his number on hand but google his name and the San Antonio Office Number should come up. It's disgusting what these people have done to so many poor animals and the people who love them, they need to be brought to justice.
Finally justice! I too bought a puppy from Sylvia and Joe in August. She was a one pound maltepoo that was shipped to us on a Saturday and died by Wednesday. Our vet diagnosed the puppy with Parvo Virus. As we all know puppies dont get parvo virus one day and die a few days later. The puppy had this when it was shipped to us. It was a horrible experience for myself and my children who were devistated to watch this poor little thing die. I contacted Sylvia the entire four days that we had the puppy at the vet. She wanted me to send the puppy back to her. The flight from New Jersey would of been a four hour flight. The poor thing would have died in that crate alone on that plane. What kind of heart do these damn people have. I sent them numerous emails in reference to my refund back. The puppy was $350.00. Between the puppy, the cost to fly the puppy here and the vet bill i am out $1000.00. I called many times and they would not answer my phone calls. They must have a list of phone numbers of people that they sold sick, dying puppies to next to their phone so they dont answer. The only time they answered my call was when i called from a different phone number. When they did answer they told me they would send the cost of the puppy back to me. It has been 9 months and i have not received a dime back from them. The worse part is when i go to adorablepetz.com our dead puppy is still on the their web site. i told joe about this and he states that it wasnt our puppy. BULL! i know that puppy and i know the white spots on its head. i have the same picture of her from when we bought her. These people make me sick. Good for you Mary. i am glad you have exposed them. I have been looking for months to find a way to let people know about what they are doing. My 13 year old found this site today and brought it to my attention. isnt it sad that a 13 year old still sits and thinks about that dead puppy. sylvia and joe you should be ashamed of yourself and all of the people you have ripped off. i hope your children do not follow your example. and just to let you know i will report you to every agency that i can find so you are shut down completely. and like Mary i am not afraid to sign my name! and you have something to say to me you say it because i am ready to take both of your ### on.! If someone will not tell you where he gets his puppies it is an automatic red flag. He doesn't want you to know because they are probably from puppy mills, or illegal venues, or his "relatives" in south Texas. The question that I would like to ask you is why does Sylvia Guerra call you her husband, (in web blogs, etc.) and you have always referred to her as your girl friend. That was the only thing that you called her when I was dealing with you. What about your two kids with Sylvia, your girl friend, are you proud of your example to them? Do you want them to grow up and use language as you just did? Do you want them to run a business and treat customers as you do?
I hope others come forward as well. You have done a great job in providing awareness to everyone, thank you!
Interesting they wouldn't give you the information after you made the purchase for your puppy. There are some sellers out there who gladly provide individuals with the breeder name after the purchase is made. Those that won't provide the information even after should be a big red flag to everyone. They can give excuse after excuse why they "can't/won't provide the breeder information but in the end, it's just bad business and evidence they are protecting these bad breeders.
Another thing Joe and Sylvia don't realize about you (and I dont' even know you) is that in the end it's not about the money they refunded you, it's about the welfare of these poor animals.
Again, anyone reading this thread if you have fallen victim also, please contact the authorities, they want to know.
Wow, from Adorablepetz blog. It's okay to "not mean for your dogs to breed" oops, had an accident". Is that not irresponsible pet ownership? There is another person in San Antonio named Bianca and Sam Suwanasung, they claimed to be a breeder of Maltipoos along with her sister in Universal City. The ACS shows up at her house based on all the complaints received so now she changes her tune. She states her sister is not the breeder and she bought the puppies from a woman for $50.00 each who "accidentally had dogs (Maltipoos) that bred". Funny, this breeder whose dogs accidentally bred were ab le to supply Bianca with litters upon litters. The reason ACS went to her home was because there were 12 dead puppies she sold (that are known)...these are the consequences of people accidentally breeding, hers were sick and obviously yours were sick also. Let's pay $50 for an accident of a puppy litter and turn around and sell them for what $250 was your price. How awlul!
Don't think for one minute that anyone believes anything that you say on your blog, it is only an attempt to cover up what you really do. Hopefully, you won't be breeding in the future..Your day has yet to come.
Who cares if you breed them or not, you know fully well where they are coming from so that makes you equally as guilty! These breeders in San Antonio are well known, make no mistake about it, I won't mention their names but they are just as bad and before long ACS will catch up with them too because they are all greedy. These people are monsters and they have these breeding facilities outside the San Antonio City limits to evade the laws. What comes around, goes around people, you will be caught.
People, the more homework you do, you will find the connections and when you do, notify the authorities!
These are not crazy allegations Joe and Sylvia. It's simple fact! You got your dogs taken away from you. Sylvia can quote me again as saying, "it is impossible to have your animals taken away from you without substantial evidence" On the flip side, UNFORTUNATELY, It is equally as hard to bring justice to these people who abuse animals. Most these horrific acts to animals do not come to justice because it is not prudent to chase good money after bad money. The laws in Texas make it easy for these individuals to get away with animal cruely, . I had to laugh when I saw the posting on their website about the new Texas Laws forthcoming. Hello, big red flag they are not in favor of them! I wonder why!
Your business would have continued to prosper had you not been so greedy. You are in the position you are in at your own accord, you have done this all by yourself so stop with the "woah is me act" and stop blaming everyone else.
Mary, I commend you for bringing your story to light as well as all the others. You need to contact every TV station in San Antonio wiith your stories, send them files with all your back up, etc. Continue, continue to have your voice heard. Also, please send complaints to the FBI Internet Fraud Division, the USDA, the BBB...there are so many avenues you can take. It requires a lot of time initially but the reward will be well worth it.
People do your homework, never purchase a puppy over the internet, these are obvious puppy mills!
If anyone has received sick puppies that were shipped by Adorablepetz, please contact Joycelyn.Barrow@coair.com at Continental Airlines Cargo Division. These airlines do not want sick puppies flying and they can embargo Adorablepetz from shipping. If Adorablepetz is embargoed they may find their way around it using other people to ship for them but that is a criminal offense and they will be caught.
Ms Spry did receive a refund for the puppy she purchased, plus an additional $50 for the gas and time she waisted. She was not refunded the shipping cost because she knew and agreed prior to purchasing the puppy that the shipping cost is non refundable. The puppy was a tiny tea cup maltipoo and unfortunately she was not able to withstand the flight she was on. Ms Spry stated that the puppy developed Pneumonia and according to my veterinarian that could of easily been caused by the stress of the shipping. I am very sorry that the puppy passed away and I blame my self for not waiting longer to ship her since she was such a small puppy, but this customer is complaining when she was refunded already. Any time any puppy I sell gets sick, the puppy is either replaced or refunded as long as the purchaser follows the instructions on the health warranty of the puppy.
