Admiral's manager/owner, John Conley, asessed during a service call to my home, that due to Hurricane Ike, all 4 of my ac systems needed to be changed immediately.
I was extremely skeptical of his analysis, so I told him that I would get a second opinion.
John Conley convinced me that due to the fact that he was a police officer, he could not engage in any illegal behaviors. He insisted that I could trust him and that he would get my insurance company to pay every bit of the charges.
He sweetened his deal by offering to put a "hold" on my checks (one for $41, 201.00 and another for $6, 000.00), until the insurance company has settled the claim.
John Conley "closed the deal" with me by offering to replace my units with whole house filtration systems along with 4 new touch screen thermostats.
So, he collected my check on October 2, 2008, and scheduled installion for early the following morning. I put my check, as he instructed, in an envelope labelled "hold until insurance payment received."
On October 3, day of the installation, I called John Conley around 8 am and told him I was concerned that I did not have this agreement, of holding my check until insurance pays, in writing.
Mr. Conley persuaded me to leave everything up to him. He again insisted that he was a police officer and that he could not "do anything illegal." He insisted that I "trust" him..."you put in the claim and I'll deal with the insurance company...they'll pay in less than 2 weeks."
Installation therefore continued as planned.
On October 7, I received a notice from my bank that I was charged $32.00 for a returned check. My worst nightmares began.
Admiral Services deposited both checks that were supposed to be on hold until payment was received from insurance company.
Mr. Conley reluctantly agreed to meet with me and explained that "legally, I couldn't hold onto the checks otherwise the insurance company will think I had a biased opinion regarding this invoice."
Mr. Conley said he did not know the checks would be deposited and that he planned to return the $6, 000.00 to me the following day. To date, he has not honored that offer.
Mr. Conley is now insisting that I apply for credit with his company so he can collect his money, and that way, even if it takes 12 months or more to collect from my insurance, they would have their money. I told him absolutely not. He has since threatened to have me arrested for writing a bad check.
I am now in a huge mess, because my insurance company is suspecting fraud. I refuse to be a part of this fraud, so I've shared this story, in it's entirety, with the insurance investigator assigned to my case.
I looks like they will deny payment of this claim, and I'll be stuck with threats from John Conley and Admiral Services.
Fraud was suspected because 4 parts of the varous systems that John Conley recommended to be replaced were inspected by the insurance company are in perfectly good working condition. Two of the units that were replaced were units purchased from Admiral Services, and carried a life time warranty. So, these two untis should have been replaced free of charge.
At this time, I fear for my safety and am being harrassed by John Conley and Admiral Services, on a daily basis.
Don't know how this sitaution will be resolved.

Admiral services came out to fix our air conditionar unit on 6/13/11. They changed out the converter. I am writing this for my husband who owns the home in houston so forgive me if I do not sound like I know alot about ac units. They charged us approximatetly $649 to fix this converter part. They were very difficult on how we could pay considering we live in a different city 3 hours away from the house we own. That was the first nuesence. A week later we got a phone call from our tennent explaining the ac was broken once again! Fed up we called another ac repair (AIRFIX LLC) they were out there within 45 minutes! Not only did admiral have horrible cutsomer service that day but they used chinese parts on our ac unit. The parts had already expired within on week. AIRFIX LLC fixed the faulty part for $200, a whopping 300 differnce from admiral services! They were very helpful on helping us pay over the phone and we had a brand new AMERICAN part put into the ac within an hour. The services were terrific. With all of this being said DO NOT USE ADMIRAL AC REPAIR! They will rip you off and put chinese fake parts into your ac unit!

I recently hired Admiral Services to inspect my gas furnaces for fall. The price was reasonable and it had been years since I used them for reasons you’ll see at the bottom.

Admiral consists of a bunch of con-artists. I was stupid enough to buy a system from them, and the compressor went out about a year later.
This was "under warranty" though, and they offered to replace the compressor for almost $900. This was their warranty!
I wound up getting an entirely new top of the line system for a little over a thousand dollars, and I dealt with a great gentleman named Tom at Courtesy AC.
Don't ever use Admiral. They are rated "F" by the BBB. And believe me,
from personal experience this is the correct rating.
