ACN Opportunity No customer service - liars

I recently started a new job and because of the changeover I fell one month behind on my bill, called ACN to tell them that I would be paying my bill in full but it would be late as they were going to cut me off. I made payment arrangements with one of the reps and 2 weeks later I came home from work to report I had just made a payment and my phone was cut off. I had to use a cell phone, wait forever on hold for some rep on the other line tell me there was no record of my call and that they don't make payment arrangements anyway so I am lying. I was livid, I explained well either way I paid my bill and turn my phone on. His response was that ACN will not receive the payment and they would not turn on my phone until they did in 5 to 7 business days and then it would turn on within 14 business days after that. and also if I wanted my phone turned on I would have to pay them another $100.00 + because I now owed them for the current month which i hadn't even received a bill for (that bill came 2 weeks later). What made me so angry was that I was called a liar on the phone by this person, I was lied to as I had made payment arrangements in the past and it had never been an issue. In whole I cancelled my services, went with another company I was not able to transfer my number because ACN is not recognized as a company ... This has cause so many issues as I had my previous number for 12 yrs. I highly recommend staying away from this company they are uncooperative, unhelpful, they don't get the job done when you have issues, they are unreliable and their customer service is awful and rude.

ACN Opportunity Morals are extinct in today's society, but I thought people had more integrity than this

This is a scam! I signed up through a former friend... It's so unbelievable I thought it was a joke. This is yet another example of sick people targeting others in devastating economic times. Yes, I'm a dinosaur when it comes to my morals. Morals are extinct in today's society, but I thought people had more integrity than this! They took me for thousands! It's NOT a joke! Do NOT sign up!

ACN Opportunity They wont listen

I joined up, originally to be part of the business and part of the deal was to have our landline and mobiles too. There was non stop wrong charging and no customer support whatsoever ! Almost the very end of my first year, i was desperate to cancel and get onto someone who would deal with us in a reasonable manner. I cancelled one year and some months ago now.

However, now they say, that i did not cancel and the account still gets sent to me and numerous calls later, who did i talk to, what date and all of that, of course they dont give you a name or anything else, the calls are recorded ! But doesnt help ! They wont let me listen and they wont listen unless i tell them to whom i have spoken and the exact time and date !
You must be kidding me. I will not give up. I am sick and tired of paying just because i can ! This time i will do the long haul and go forward for every person who cannot do it for themselves.

I am sick of being mistreated as a client and spoken to in such a terrible manner. .

Will someone with some sense tell me what we must do to get awesome customer service. . Or is it too too too late ?

ACN Opportunity Bunch of liars

Dont deal with ACN. Worst customer service, unprofessional tech support, hidden fees. And of course they deal with companies like themself( Energy, Home security, water heater). They promise cheap services but they are not. Even if they overcharge you with obviious mistake it would be impossible to prove anything. Talking to Customer reps is as the same as you talk to answering machine or to Parrot. Never got a chance to speak to supervisor. They just dont give it to you telling that he(she) was busy or not in and that they would call back within 48hrs!. Never ever got a call back If anybody wants details of my 5 months struggle with ACN just post comments and Ill tell the story.

ACN Opportunity No money back guarantee

A person i haven't seen for a while suddenly called me out of nowhere and wanted to visit me. I was very excited and even cooked for this person. I was very disappointed that the reason why they remembered calling me again is because they wanted to pitch in a business with me. Long story short i sign up. I paid $500. 00 + i bought the infamous video phone after watching a dvd of donald trump. After all the sales talk i was told in order for me to make money i have to get 3 people in and to get this people working for me, then they have to each get 3 people also and so on. Anyway just to let you know it is a pyramid business ###! Nontheless. The videophone is crap, it freezes your internet once it is in use and you have to change all your providers to acn (Ie. Internet, home phone etc.) to get points. Also in order for the video phone to work "better" according to them is you have to switch your land line to acn. Take note they do not have a technician of their own. They will call in case of repair is bell canada. Duh! If you are making billions of dollars as they claim, then why can't they hire their own tech you might ask? Because they are just borrowing the line from bell canada! If this company couldn't get any worse, they will charge you for a phone that hasn't been delivered to you yet if you order. One of my customer signed up and was very unhappy. They started counting the 10 days just after his order of videophone had processed. I wasn't aware of this too, i found out the hard way. Acn will give you 10 days to get a refund. How the [protected]@#k do you get a refund when they send you your order 2 days before the day lapse. Anyway my customer never gotten his refund although he never used the phone and returned it and never gotten his refund even he never activated his phone, and my reputation sank like a tank. Their customer service is pathetic because they don't even know the product you are inquiring about when you call. Warning once you sign up there is no going back. You cannot get your money back. You cannot complain because they always have a good reason for everything. Its like joining a cult, you die if you quit the group. It's ridiculous.

Lesson number:
1. If a company is asking you to do a pyramid somewhat business and pay them money to make money it means they do not have investors that supports them and that means no one trust them.
2. If a company is asking you to buy their product to start in their business, it means they are very weak business provider and it means consumers do not trust and recognize their business for a reason.
3. If you don't understand it, do not join and do not pay money to understand it unless you are going to school.
4. You are a fool if you believe their bs because no one makes money that fast unless they get it from your pocket, think about it!

Let the product speak for itself. If acn is that good guess what (I left them 5 days after joining and i couldn't get a refund) . Why is it that after 4 years since i quit and before that their product is still not in the market?

Even avon don't do that, because they are such a very strong & trusted company people apply to get the business running for them, not them trying to convince people.

Honestly if the business is any good and has a professional foundation why do you ask ordinary people to join to run it then ask for their money when you know for a fact that the poor ### don't even know how to run a business? Why don't you wait for them to decide for themselves without pressure?

I have my own small business now, and somehow because my business is doing good others are the ones who ask me to make them a partner or at least to work for me and not the other way around. Plus i love it because i understand it.

Never sign up and never attend to their invitation, unless you like wasting you money & your time.
It is pretty straight forward if you haven't started your own business till they came along is maybe because you don't want to. So don't start now when they present it.
To make sure, ask them to give you 72 hours to think about it because trust me if your heart is not into it after 48 hours. Then it is a mistake to join. But remember they will make you feel like s#$t if you can't make up your mind. They will ask you why don't you want to join like you actually owe them an explanation. They will make you feel like you're the one who wasted their time. So if you think you won't do it. Do not go to the invitation! I repeat do not go to the invitation! Or you'll feel like crap after. That's why i sign up because i felt obligated.

Now if you choose to join prepare yourself to attend meetings every week at least 2 a week, forget that you have kids and family gatherings and get going with the recruitment because they will pressure you and will give you a time frame to do it. It is like working a 9 to 5 job only you have to pay for it and not get paid at all by abiding them (Which i think is stupid) . Remember you will only call your business your own once you are calling the shots in your own time and in your own terms and making money as soon as you put out money to start it but if someone else is still telling you what to do then guess what, you're so called business is still not yours it's theirs.

The funny part is you have to pay them to tell you what to do. In that case i rather work for mcdonalds. At least they will give me benefits.

Peace!

1. It's not brainwashing, its called vision. It's a company supported and operated by independent business owners who are plugged into a system. Did you know the average age of a McDonald's employee is 17. That includes CEOS and stuff. Why? Because of a system.
2. You want a business checking account to feel special? I don't understand that. This is a low overhead home based business. No different than Avon, Amway or Herbalife.
You need the overhead to feel specail? It's not for everyone, however do the world a favor and keep the dream stealing attitude to yourself.

Thank you.

How's your bank account treating you"SVPLife"? I paid ACN to see how it works because i have money to blow. Boy was their whole thing no different USANA. Both loads of [censor].
Funny thing is they said i'd make more money working harder for them than i do off Stocks. LMFAO! I make 200-$500 a day off the market on top of having a "Real Job" as an Engineer.

Save your money people and don't waste your time. I went through the trouble for you guys. Don't be a fool like these idiots.

I don't understand how these brainwashed ACN reps think they own a legitimate business when they can't even open a business checking account with ACN. In order to have a legitimate business, you have to have at least one of the following: a business plan, State license or permit, registered fictitious business name, or some kind of cash flow sheet.

ACN Opportunity Stay away

Just thought someone should say something worth while. As an ACN representative, I have ACN services in my own home and l love it. I can see my grandchildren anytime I want using my video phone. If your looking for perfection talk to jesus! Life is what you make of it and if ACN is such a scam that's great, because my reps and I walk down to the mailbox for our residual checks every month and I saved $170.00 per month over what I used to use in my home! Residual income, savings. Wow what a scam!

I think people who complain about ACN have nothing else to do in life but complain. I used to work as a charge nurse on the psychiatric unit in Toronto. I have met a lot of people and dealt with a number of emergency situations. I thought of myself as an experienced and strong individual, who is able to handle difficulties. My husband worked as a Psychiatrist at one of the best hospitals in New York. We thought we had a lot of friends and people we could rely on. The ACN helped us to re-evaluate our relationships with our "friends". We think that ACN is not only a great financial opportunity, but also a method to "test" your friends. I was able to find out a lot of things about myself as well. All I know for sure now - it is much better and definitely more effective than any psychiatry there is.

ACN Opportunity Won't let me cancel - RIPOFF

ACN Digital Scam! My brother talked me into joining ACN over two years ago. Because he was so excited about the opportunity and because I wanted to show my support, I signed up for the phone service and business opportunity. It was the worst financial and business decision I’ve ever made. The phone sucks! You can’t talk and hear the other person at the same time. So if you’re telling a story or talking and the other person wants to chime in, it’s a no go. They just have to wait until you finish and then there is an awkward pause, and then you both start and the phone cuts one of you off which is even more awkward. It’s awful. Not to mention we had to call the customer support line dozens of times to get the video to “work”. The refresh rate is choppy. The phone is useless. It’s been collecting dust in my basement for two years. Nobody wants to join! For several months my brother and I hit it hard, talking to everyone, holding living room meetings. ACN made a big deal about Donald Trump showcasing the ACN Digital IRIS 5000 or IRIS 3000 on his show. We had a big The Apprentice party and talked about it on Facebook and Twitter and created our own blog about it. Nothing. Nobody had any interest in the phone or service. After a few weeks, we realized we made a big mistake. They won’t let you cancel! As soon as we realized this wasn’t going to work we tried to cancel. No can do. You’re LOCKED into a two-year contract. This means, with interest on my credit card, I’ve WASTED OVER $3, 846! And this is at a time I’m trying to pay off my debt. ACN put me back on my debt free plan for years. The REALLY won’t let you cancel! So after two long years my brother went to cancel. They told him he couldn’t, that had to call in on the EXACT day the bill was due. What?! Isn’t that illegal? He warned me about his experience so I let another month go by and called in on the right day and cancelled. Hoorah! I felt like I was free of the ACN scam for the first time. Until…I looked at my credit card bill this morning and THEY CHARGED ME AGAIN…AFTER I CANCELLED! HEEELLLLLLPPPPP! I’m in ACN HELL! Now, as a lot is happening in my personal life, I have to fight with them on the phone, do a chargeback, contact the FTC, BBB and Attorneys’ General office in my state and ACN’s state and fight to get out of their system. ACN is like a big wad of gum in your hair that you can’t get out for YEARS! Please…if you are looking at ACN’s phone service or business opportunity, don’t walk away…RUN! Jon F. in Utah

I signed up for ACN phone service and when the service didn't work no matter how hard I tried, changed Modem, Router, and phone adapter, and still phone calls where being dropped and sounded bad to callers. Also at times people would say I called 4 times, the first three went straight to voice mail, and this is when we were waiting for their call. we had got home and said call me on my house phone because our cell does not get good coverage in our area. and we waited for the call and wondered what took so long. well I changed my number back to Ooma to get better service and it works great. I paid close to $700 for 9 months service for ACN phone after buying the phone adapter, video phone and service at $42 a month (they advertise 29.00, they claim the rest is taxes) and the cancellation fees. WOW! now I pay a little less than $4.00 a month about what I was paying a year for ACN and it works great. no need for a new modem or router. I wish I hadn't had this experience I called twice to try and get the cancellation fees back, but both times I was told they couldn't help me and a manager would call me the next day and both times they didn't. They always ended the call with is there anything else I can help you with. I guess not.

ACN Opportunity Poor digital service

Friends, though I think the ACN business plan is sound...I cannot give any positive thoughts on the video phone or service.

I am reading some complaints about having to turn the phone on and off to get the service to work...yes, that is us too. We would go for days without any calls thinking how odd, only to realize that our service didn't work. From the time we received the phone and the following 6 months...I have had to turn the phone on and off every 2 or 3 days. During conversations, it would randomly hang up.

I wish I read some of these complaints before I signed on for 2 years contract. Customer service has been kind...however, plan on investing about 2 to 4 hours a week on hold or repeating the same issue over and over to different technicians on the phone as they walk you through applying new settings, speeds etc. Not worth the hassle. I saved $ per month going to ACN...I regret evey dollar saved.

All of the same has happened to us. As I was reading the complaints everything sounded so familiar. The phone didn't work most of the time, phone service was awful. I wanted to be able to see my 90 year old mother when I called her. This was a joke! When I was able to see her, it was a distorted mess for both of us. When I tried to talk to her or she tried to talk to me it echoed, static, hung up etc. Then on top of everything else you have to pay to get out of the contract, which we did. I will say that their customer service lady I talked with was very nice. I am just so glad to have Charter again.

DO NOT PURCHASE THE ACN DIGITAL PHONE! I purchase it about a year ago. The video functionality is worse than Skype (and Skype is free). Secondly, when you try to cancel the service for poor performance, you will get levied an excessive early termination fee of $199 + taxes per phone. In all, the ACD digital phone service is subpar no matter what the ACN pundit reps are trying to tell you and then when you try to terminate the service, you get ripped off!

ACN Opportunity Lack of service

Untrained reps selling complicated equipment. Unhelpful head office staff with no flexibility and limited provision of service. I bought a Videophone when we had to pay $500 for the privilege on top of equipment cost. Bought one for my mum, daughter and my brother bought one, so we could communicate as a family. My daughters phone never worked and calling the techs at ACN we were told that because we were connecting by wireless they did not provide support! Huh? (ADSL is only available after someone dies in Australia). After paying 6 months of rental (on a phone she owned) and realising she couldn't afford to pay anymore, asked if she could 'hold' the service until we get the thing working. They said maximum of 2 months. Since she couldn't get ADSL in that time and then get tech service, cancelled the service and was told she could never use the phone again or have it re-newed - a $300 phone. No-one bothered to ask if she wanted to send it in for service. My mother's phone worked and I was paying for it, next thing we find, both my brother AND I are being debited for her phone! Double dipping! AND they wouldn't talk to me when I phoned about it although I was paying for it! Huh? My brother is still trying to sort this one out. The phones stop working properly after about a year and we have all found that callers can't hear us. My internet stick didn't work in major regional locations in Australia (even with external antenna) so I couldn't use it and had to get a new service from elsewhere. ACN told me I could not cancel the $30 per month for a stick that didn't work unless I paid $301 to be able to NOT use the thing. They sent to a collection agent for the $301 and when questioned by the collection agent, would not give an inch. I realise that those in the capital cities have limited problems - so don''t sell to those in regional areas. We were supposed to be reps and we have had such a bad time that we wouldn't recommend it to anyone - GO SKYPE! PS All this trouble in 12 months - cost ? approx $3000 wasted

ACN Opportunity - REFUND-getting deposit back??

Just try to get your deposit back?? After many hours and several days...I have a phone number and an address for anyone who is in the same situation as I was...trying to get my $499.00 back. All of my money was refunded except for $50.00 that could not be explained by any of the reps as to why it was withheld or how to get it back. I was furious. I had...

ACN Opportunity Customer service - ###

I have had serious issues with ACN in the past, but this one over the last couple of days completely takes the cake.

I received a letter with my bill this month. The letter was dated July 28th, and I received it on August 9th. It stated that my account was SEVERELY past due, and that my account was to be disconnected at the earliest, on August 8th. (Yes, you read that correctly).

I immediately pulled out my bill from last month, knowing I hadn't made my payment at the end of the month like I usually do (as my husband had just lost his job, and we were waiting for EI to come in), but wondering if there had been a balance from the previous bill I hadn't noticed. Nope. Just one bill, due July 22nd. So, here's the order of events:

July 4th - My husband loses his job.

July 10thish - I receive my bill for June. It is $78.39 due July 22nd.

July 22nd - I don't pay the $78.39, still waiting for EI.

July 28th - ACN notices I didn't pay my bill and sends a letter on this date.

August 9th - I receive my bill for July ($71.47) and a letter (sent July 28th) stating that my account is over 30 days past due.

I call Customer Service. The Customer Service Rep I speak to, a woman, huffs into the phone when I say I would like to make arrangements for when I can pay my past due amount (1st EI cheque is due to come in Aug 12). In a snotty voice, she replies that paying $78.39 will not stop ACN from disconnecting my phone, long distance and internet. I response with surprise. She responds with 'Well, you should pay your bills on time, DUH'. Yes, she ACTUALLY said this. I say that I want to escalate the call, and speak to a supervisor. She says that the supervisor won't tell me anything different. I tell her that it is about her tone of voice that I want to speak to the supervisor, as well as the '46 days' that my account is supposedly past due. After a few more times of me replying 'Go get your supervisor' to every single thing that she says, she goes and gets the supervisor.

While speaking with the supervisor, I inform him of how terribly the first customer care rep treated me, he says 'I understand that, and I will look into it'. At this point, I'm too angry to care if the woman will get 'looked into or not'. I start to ask about the '46 days late' business:

Me: My last bill was due July 22nd. That was 18 days ago. Where are the other 30-odd days coming from?

Him: You could have paid the bill starting from June 28th.

Me: But ... the bill wasn't due until July 22nd. If I paid the bill on July 21st, would it still have been a 'late' payment by three weeks?

Him: Absolutely.

Me: But I don't even receive my bill until two weeks after the billing period is over.

Him: But you can pay starting when the billing period is over, so the account is late from THAT date.

Me: This is ridiculous, but okay. So, I can pay the $78.39 past due amount on Thursday. Can you guarantee me that my account won't be disconnected (like every other phone provider in existence?).

Him: No. And you have to pay $149.86 for us to not cut off your account.

Me: WHAT?

Him: The payment that was due for June, you haven't paid, and the payment for July isn't paid either. You need to bring the account up to date.

Me: The July payment isn't due for another TWO WEEKS.

Him: But the billing cycle is over. You need to pay it, or we will disconnect your services.

Me: I'm pretty sure that's illegal.

Him: No, that's our policy.

Me: To cut off services before the payment for them is even DUE?

Him: Yes.

Me: So. If I pay the 'late balance', which is only 'late' by 18 days, and bring the account 'up to date', your company will still cut off my services, even though I have no outstanding balances.

Him: That is correct.

Me: And what happens if I only pay what is late, and then pay the amount that is due Aug. 21st on or slightly before Aug 21st.

Him: You have to pay a reconnection fee ($35), and you MUST set up an auto-withdrawl for your bank account, so that it doesn't get cut off in the future.

Me: Uh-huh. Right. Okay, I want to escalate this further. May I speak with your supervisor?

Him: He won't tell you anything different. And his section is closed for the night (I had been on the phone into past 5pm my time).

Me: Can I have the phone number for him?

Him: Sure. (He gives me the number for tech support. Really.)

That was when I hung up the phone and called my ACN area Rep.

He seemed appalled at what the customer service had said to me, and immediately called the customer service guys again, to talk to them about the situation. He called me back and said that he got them to agree to not do anything to the account until Thursday Aug 12th, but then I would be expected to pay both the past due amount and the not yet due amount, in order to retain my services. I got into a heated discussion with my Area Rep, and again voiced my concern about the legality of threatening to cut off my services for a payment that is not yet due. He verbally shrugged, and we got off the phone.

Today (Thursday Aug 12th), I called again, hoping for a different service rep. I got one. A man this time.

I was told that my long distance services had already been cut off (which they had expressly promised not to do), and that if I didn't pay both the payment that was 48 days late, and the payment that wasn't due for two more weeks, then my services would be cut off. I tried to escalate the call, and HE WOULDN'T LET ME. He actually REFUSED to escalate the call. Would. Not. Do. It. No matter what I said.

I got their mailing information and have written the BBB about them, but I don't think that there's much that can be done.

So, all you 'I run my own business' ACN Reps out there: WHY DOES ACN HAVE THE ### CUSTOMER CARE EVER?

ACN Opportunity Don't involve

Please do not involve with ACN. Their customer service is not good. We have to wait atleast 4 to 5 hours to reach the customer representative. After that you can not get the correct representative. The call direversion is very poor. The phone quality is too bad. I did a big mistake. Please do not involve with ACN. Regarding mobile phones, one of my friends submitted his request for the mobile phone, They did not send the hand set and they did not activate the account. Unfortunately one day he got the bill. this is ACN. Do not involve with ACN

Of course they have no customer service! They don't even have their own techs to do the video phones installations. If they were a real company they would have real customer support and techs working on their "video phones." The customer service you get from the wireless service (Verizon, T-mobile, etc.) is directly from the wireless provider. ACN is only an authorized dealer, just like the authorized dealers you see at the mall, random booths and stalls everywhere.

Do you even know what you are talking about? Doesn't sound like it. I signed up with Verizon for wireless services thru ACN. WE knew exactly what our bill was going to be and received the phones we ordered 3 days later. Their customer service is very helpful and friendly. Had absolutely no problems. If you never received your phones, try calling them and letting them know! Wow, what a concept...

ACN Opportunity EARLY CANCELLATION FEE

ACN is the biggest rip off going. My husband and I got roped into joining from a meeting. The sales pitch is wonderful... but the representatives giving the sales meeting is only rich from the 499 the collected from the poor innocent people at the meeting! Then they make you join telephone, cellphone, television and alarm companies with 2 year contracts (200.00 early terminations for all of them) the service is horrible and you cant cancel because it will cost over 1, 000 in cancellation fees... DONT DO IT! its a scam They just billed my credit card 200.00 for an early termination fee that I never authorized! They need to be sued!

I am a small business owner, and am on acn. With acn we are also clients. So we have to use the services. And they dont work. Good luck finding someone to help here too. My phone is dead and putting the sim into another phone does the same. I cannot afford to have my phone down. It has been the worst phone service ive ever had. I think the only way out now is to pay maximum $$$. And im willing. Why would i want to sign people up to a service that i think stinks?!

ACN is a a substandard and outdated technology, I saw that right away during my 'presentation'. Wow, a giant phone you can use anywhere as long as you have a second suitcase! Ummm, I have one that fits in my pocket, it's called a cell phone. When the rep tried to give us a demo they were on the (wired) phone with ACN tech support for half an hour to smooth out some glitches, that sounds handy to me!
ACN is a joke, only old folks without a clue about technology are interested in it. MLM's are nothing new, and I am continually amused to see the same folks jump in to the same old shtick with reckless abandon!

They don't *make* you join anything. It's a business and you didn't do any work. If you join a gym and don't go work out all the time you can't call the gym a scam. The person doing the meeting doesn't make a dime from your 499. It's a business of customer acquisition and without customers nobody makes money whatsoever. You have nobody to blame but yourself for this.

ACN Opportunity Service and billing

I was persuaded to sign up for ACN phone and Direct TV to be "Qualified" to earn thousands of dollars helping EVERYONE get the phone service and TV. Can't access my bill on line, paid what I was aware of and they discomnnected my phone. They refuse to return calls or e mail or communicayte in any way. Our attorney ( PrePaid Legal Services) is handling this for us.PLEASE don'e EVER get involved with this ripoff scheme. IIt has cost us over $2000 so far and we aren't done yet. We can't wait to get away from Direct TV, would you like to pay to watch infomercials? Costs us more than double what we paid for Cox Cable. Kathy in Kansas

I have to agree that ACN has no flexibility. Refer my comment re my families experiences simply trying to get service!
In Australia, most companies allow payment terms etc etc ... but not ACN. Sometimes people become busy with life and rely on receiving account reminders esp where the amounts vary from month to month. Also signups are often done by people with limited knowledge or training who DO NOT inform the customer. After my experience with business (I am a senior business person) I am shocked at the inflexibility of ACN.

I'm pretty sure you were aware of when the payment was due due to the fact that you signed a contract and due dates are stated there! that is of course unless you didn't read the contract. i'm sorry that acn didn't coddle you and pat you on the ### when you couldn't pay your bills. Ok, just so you know...it doesn't matter what company it is if you do not pay your bill in FULL they will disconnect you! Come on really people? I had an outrageous bill from PG&E and could not pay it in FULL, but guess what if I didn't pay it they would shut off my gas and electric. This is not an ACN thing, it is a if you don't pay your bill you will be in trouble thing. Don't blame ACN for something that is YOUR fault.

I've had ACN land line service for about a year now, my bill was $60.48, I paid $60 (all I had at the time, but thought it would be sufficiant) about two weeks later I get a letter in the mail from ACN, a disconnection notice. I called them right away, thinking maybe they just didn't get the payment before sending out this notice. I was seriously shocked (felt like a slap in the face) to find out that...no...they got the payment but it was .48 CENTS short therefore they would be disconnecting! I couldn't believe the pettiness of this, never the less, I paid the .48 CENTS and was done with it, now here we are a few months later, my bill came in another disconnection notice, only got today thursday and the disconnection is slated to be done this Sunday($109.68) I only have a prepaid credit card, and I had just loaded it last night with $110.00 intending to pay my bill (another disconnection notice as my bill is a month behind) I call them to pay the bill only to find out there is suddenly not enough on my card as visa took out a fee (I assume) so I explained to the woman that I just loaded this card the night before so I could get this taken care of, but since visa took out a fee I am now $5.00 short 5 BUCKS! I ask if I pay the $104 I did have on the card if I would still be disconnected or could they push the date a few days so I could have time to reload more on the card. I was flatly told no...the amount owing is the amount owing and MUST be paid in full or the disconnection stands as is. I ask if the office is open on Saturday so I can have time to get into town (I live 30 min out in the country) and get the money loaded and call it in, I was told no...SOOO they send a disconnection notice over such a petty amount (the .48 cents) then later another disconnection notic only giving me 3 days notice of it, I try to pay enough to just get another day before they flip that switch but once again over a petty amount ($5) they will not work with me AT ALL!
ACN is not a very good company to get involved with what so ever! I for one am looking into other sevices (I refuse to use bell as well as they just have really rude people in customer service) I STRONGLY advise people to STAY AWAY FROM ACN! They are rediculas!

ACN Opportunity Disconnect my phone service and I have a $0 blance and want turn it on

My ACN phone service was disconnected after payment and I inquired why was it disconnected payment was made. They gave me some story about it was time for my next payment so they had to disconnect. So I informed the customer service rep. that on that day I had just received a new bill and it stated that my next payment would be due on April 15, 2010. Let me bring you up to date with my payment previously made on March 18, 2010 and the disconnect happened on March 26, 2010, 8 days after payment and sameday I receive my phone bill. I ask the customer service rep. what was my balance and paid it right then of $147.47. I was told then that it would take 24-48 hours to reconnect my service and of course I questioned this, but after trying to get an understanding 7 days later April 1, 2010 my service is still not on and a whole lot of excuses are being made as to why. One being technically reason and they are trying to solve it and it may be another 4 days to resolve. Does anyone out here are at this company feel my frusation with this issue. Now I have contacted my Local News station and the BBB to see if I can get some help in the resolution of this issue.

ACN Opportunity Sleezy REPs signing me up under false pretenses and refusing to allow me to cancel

My first issue is with the reps! After attending the meeting I ask for more information from the reps so Harry and his ETT come to my house. I tell them I'm interested but I want to know how it is going to save me money.

I asked specifically if I could use my fax machine with the digital phone as I didn't know and it wasn't clear on their website.

They said yes, it has a distinctive ring. They then tell me I will have to have a land line for my first month as I will loose phone access for a few days.

They stand over me guiding me through the enrollment process on the internet, skipping pages as they said they were "helping me to fast track" and "showing me how to save more money which I wouldn't know if I was going through it on my own".

After a couple of weeks my digital phone comes and it has a different phone number, I called the customer service to get my original phone number programmed into my digital phone so they tell me they have to charge me $200 penalty for canceling my phone buy will be credited to me as I'm just changing phone numbers.

I call a week later and I still haven't received my credit, the customer service department tells me the person who cancelled it didn't credit me and that will be done no problem I also ask them if it is necessary to have my landline as I got this system to SAVE MONEY as they promise in their meeting.

The rep says I never needed a land line! So I cancel. I then was inquiring about setting up my fax machine to my digital phone, he tells me I can't.

So I cancel my land line and reluctant to cancel digital as I know I'm going to be hit with the $200 penalty which I still haven't been credited for.

Upon doing this I begin receiving harassing emails from all the people on my "sleezy team" how angry they are that I've effected their bonus! because I cancelled my land line that I never need nor wanted in the first place.

I call customer service and say I want everything cancelled on November 11th. I'm still not credited for the first $200 cancellation and they're threatening to charge me another $200.

December comes I'm still not credited and I'm still being charged on my VISA for ACN.

I call customer service I speak with the SUPERVISOR and he says no problem He will see it is done in the next couple of business days. He'll take care of it. The first person who charged me the first $200 cancellation fee did it wrong and he would be fixing the problem. Says he'll call me.

January I call and ask to speak with a supervisor as I'm still being charged for ACN and I haven't heard any resolution. Supervisor will see that it is done. Sorry for the inconvenience.

No notification in writing February 8th comes I'm still being charge for ACN. I call and ask what is going on. Can I email someone is there an address I can send a letter to cancel my service, no they don't accept emails and will only deal with cancellations over the phone.

I ask to speak to a supervisor. Wait for an hour and Jean Paul comes on the phone. Says clearly the reps lied to me when they originally signed me up and I should lodge a complaint with the compliance department. He will look into it and will call me back Saturday.

I call Friday as I want to check he is still working on it. He reminds me he will call me back Saturday.. fine ... Saturday comes and goes... no call!

Two weeks later I call I want this cancelled I speak to the ACN department I complain.

Compliance calls Feb 15th, although the reps fast tracked me through the website and it never came up that a fax couldn't be used as the rep was directing me through the website and skipping pages and the documents I printed and signed said nothing about the inability to use a fax line and because I was on my computer at my house, as far as they're concerned I did read it or chose not to or ignored it. They won't refund my money...

And according to the compliance "kid" who sounded all of 16 years old, says I'm also still connected they haven't cancelled my system! This has been going on since November.

I call customer service and ask to speak to a supervisor, they say NO nor will they give a supervisor's name nor will they give the supervisor's supervisor's name. Apparently they don't know their names.

I call VISA and I have to do a 3 way conference call to confirm that they will be canceling my service for VISA to hear. AGAIN THEY REFUSE TO PROVIDE ME A LETTER IN WRITING AND WILL NOT GIVE ME AN EMAIL ADDRESS OR MAILING ADDRESS AS TO WHERE I CAN SEND A LETTER IN WRITING TO CONFIRM I'M CANCELING!

I've still received no email... as they were suppose to confirm my service has been cancelled! And they have taken 3 - $37 payments off of my VISA since I first cancelled my service!

IF YOU HAVE HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE PLEASE REPORT ACN TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS AS THEIR ACTIONS ARE UNETHICAL AND THEY ARE ABUSING PEOPLE'S CREDIT CARDS.

After four months of unsatisfactory service I called ACN to cancel my service. The service, although it worked at first, became erratic and finally stopped working completely in early August, 2012.

I called their tech support and was put on hold for over 15 minutes. When I finally talked to a tech, whom I found to be unresponsive, I decided that I didn’t want to be put through a long ordeal of trouble-shooting and sending back equipment. I asked the tech to check my call log and he confirmed that my last successful call was made on August 10, 2012.

I called back on 8/27/2012 and the customer representative, while sympathetic, said there would be a cancellation fee of $59.99. While I’m willing to take the loss for buying equipment and paying several months of unsatisfactory service, I’m NOT willing to pay the cancellation penalty. It will be charged to my credit card, of course, so I’ll have to fight this “after the fact.”

In the meantime, I want to warn others to stay away from ACN.

My experience is very similar! I went from being debt free to having to pay $100 more per month for my essential services, slower internet, and a maxed-out credit card, thanks to ACN. When I confronted my upline mentor, I got an abusive rude e-mail back from him. I'm thinking of reporting him to the company.

I'll tell my ACN story without intentionally making ACN look bad, just so you can judge for yourself what it is like to be involved with this organization. In early 2010 I was recruited by a family friend whom I respected. He had just joined through another man that was a friend of his, whom then became my "upline mentor." He had been independently wealthy, but not because of ACN. In fact, he hadn't profited yet from ACN in the year he had been in it. From what I gathered his previous business was no longer profitable so he turned to multilevel marketing business opportunities. He told me that he and his wife had unsuccessfully sold healthfood chocolates through a multi level company, and had now switched to ACN which they thought was better.
I had been told by my friend to show up to this guy's place to look at some cars. But after some verbal probing, my friend admitted that this was just a rouse to get me to sit in on an ACN prospects meeting. Out of respect for my friend, I attended. There were about 6 people who showed up to the "personal business reception" (meeting) I was at. Nobody was even remotely interested in the proposal besides me, eventhough I personally thought it was an interesting business opportunity. I didn't sign up right away and went to some more formal meetings before signing up. I was pressured to sign up before the end of the month based on the "promotion" they were running. Turns out, they have a promotion every month and just use that as a tactic to pressure recruits into signing up. They apparently want you to feel like time is running out so that you have to join now!
I signed up anyway and got qualified by purchasing a video phone under a two year contract and the $30/month "business assistant" and a new cell phone. The video phone didn't really work very well and couldn't dial basic phone numbers, so I couldn't use it, eventhough I was locked in paying an additional $40/month for two years! My mentor tried to get it to work and he couldn't fix it either. That made me lose confidence in ACN's so called "flagship product" the videophone. It simply didn't work. How was I going to expect people to use this in place of their current home phone if it doesn't even work? Never got the answer to that.
Next came the nuts and bolts of being an ACN rep--recruiting. At this point I was told to draw up a list of everyone I know and call them and invite them to my house for weekly recruitment meetings. I told my mentor even before signing up that I didn't know many people because my family doesn't live in this state and I haven't lived here very long, and that I was concerned I wouldn't be successful in ACN as a result. He said not to worry because I know more people than I think (so he said). This is where things started to go downhill. I was only able to get a few people to show up to meetings, and half of them were confused as to why they were even there. Nobody in any meetings showed even a remote interest. My mentor and his wife put a lot of effort into helping me with this, but they succeeded only in alienating the people I knew. He'd tell me to give him their number so he could call them, and I advised him that probably wouldn't work based on what I knew about the people in question. He said he knew what he was doing and told me to follow the "system" and never judge people ahead of time based on whether I think ACN would be right for them. He tried calling a few people and they were annoyed by his approach and told him to leave them alone.
I continued to be positive and was not deterred by initial failure. I continued going to the weekend meetings and was discretely talking to people at my day job about ACN trying to get them to meetings. My coworkers quickly caught on to what I was doing and began making fun of me at work about my involvment in this "pyramid scheme". It got so bad that even after I stopped talking about it, they continued to make fun of me about it, creating awkward and innappropriate situations for me at my work. I told my mentor this and he told me I need to find a new job. I guess he didn't realize this was my livlihood and I couldn't just up and quit. Once he realized that most people I knew were broke and didn't have any extra money to spend on ACN, he said, "No more broke people." I didn't really know what to do about that because I only know who I know, which I told him that from the beginning.
While this was going on, my mentor was still actively recruiting others in addition to me. One guy he signed up at the same time as me, but that man decided to get his money back a couple days later. The only other person the guy who sponsored me brought to a meeting was his friend who was such a severe alcoholic that he had to leave the meeting early to go get a beer. My sponsor then stopped participating in ACN altogether after that. But I still held strong, not giving up and stayed positive as my mentor kept telling me to do.
There was one prospective recruit that I was hoping to get signed up under me. She was very open to it at first, but apparently read about it online and determined it was a scam. She then got frustrated the next time I called her and told me to stop hassling her or she would report me. This woman was my own mother.
My roommate made fun of me from the beginning, and even tried to belittle me during some of my meetings to embarrass me in front of my guests and mentor. I began to think the people I knew were just mean-spirited, but then I realized this was just how people naturally reacted to multi-level marketing and what they viewed as pyramid schemes--and they are highly sceptical, negative, and unhelpful as a result. Everyone who was in ACN that I talked to, even my mentor, told stories about how people they knew had done the same things to them. It's something everyone has to deal with in this business apparently.
I had tried to improvise and do things that I felt would optimize my chances of recruiting people, but invariably whatever I did my mentor told me was wrong. Even when he did it his way and the outcome was worse. He kept saying to trust the system, which I continued to do to no avail. When I watched him present to my recruits it was like watching a robot with a plastic smile. It was the same formulated sales pitch over and over and to be honest it felt like a sales pitch from a sleezy car salesman. He'd spend 90 minutes on something that should only take 30 minutes and the people would be squirming in their chairs while eying the door just waiting for him to stop talking so they could leave. Meanwhile he would be continually be going over mundane details pointing to figures on a small sheet of paper that no one could really read clearly from the distance they were seated. It was just plain awkward in my opinion.
My last hope was to get my girlfriend to sign up under me. She had a big family and a lot of business contacts which would have been a great asset with a lot of potential. Unfortunately she was convinced by her friends and family not to join, and we broke up soon after. When finally the people I thought I could count on most to join didn't, I became incredibly frustrated and disheartened and was tired of wasting all this time just to lose more and more money. I had my mentor telling me one thing and everyone else telling me another, and I was trapped in the middle and forced to absorb the strain from both ends. I think my mentor caught on once he realized that even my own girlfriend wasn't joining, and he stopped contacting me. Probably as much cutting his losses as it was him realizing I was done with him and ACN.
I did ACN for about two months actively. During this time I was pressured by my mentor and his wife to go to weekly and quarterly meetings. The weekly meetings became pointless once I was no longer able to get even one person to go with me. The quarterly meetings were huge seminars held in other states that cost $150 to attend, plus transportation and hotel. Even attending one of those meetings would cost me as much as it did to join ACN! And they wanted me to attend 4 of these per year! Fortunately I didn't waste any more of my money by trying to attend these meetings, but my mentors always attended. I can only imagine how much money they spent on those things. That explains why they were so committed, and quite frankly, desperate, to make this business work. It's pretty transparent and sad once you see it for what it is and realize what is actually going on inside these people's heads.
When I joined initially I was under the impression that this would be part time and not cost an arm and a leg. It became clear as soon as I joined that this was a business of desperate people doing anything and everything they can to make this work, including not setting the correct expectations and using outright deception. I remember finding out about the $150 annual fee after investigating ACN online, and I told my sponsor about it in front of my mentor. My sponsor was shocked and said to my mentor, "You didn't tell me about that fee!" The truth is they never tell you about it because why would you join with all these extra fees? The fees are almost unending: $499 sign up+ $150 annual fee + $40/month video phone + $30/ month website membership + 4 expensive seminars a year + the cost of marketing materials + the cost to attend weekly meetings and paying for your guests entrance fees, etc. And if you want to just cancel, cut your losses, and get out...you guessed it...another fee of $200 for early cancellation. At least I know now how ACN is able to stay afloat. They charge for everything!
Now imagine them being honest and telling you before you join about what you ACTUALLY would have to pay and what you can ACTUALLY expect? But of course they don't tell you about any of that because NOBODY WOULD JOIN if they told the truth about their business. So they resort to typical unethical sales tactics and do little more than paint you a mental picture of a pie in the sky that is waiting for you if only you would just "stay positive" and keep feeding money and time into this system.
Looking back on it, I think ACN is one of those businesses that you are either too smart or too dumb to get involved in. Too smart, in that you will not join because you will see up front how difficult it is to be successful. Too dumb, because you will not join because you think everything is a scam and don't really understand a complex business model. But either way, most people won't join. And those that do join are now left to contend with all the people who will not join for the reasons stated above.
I knew that there was no guarantee that I would make money in ACN, and I was prepared to lose all the money I put in, and I did. The business model still makes sense to me on paper, but unfortunately this is a people business, and people are notoriously difficult to deal with when it comes to this sort of business. I realize now that there are some people who should NEVER join ACN because it is not right for them. You need to know a lot of people (preferably with money), and you need to be very socialable and a good salesman. It's unfortunate that the only qualifications to become an ACN rep are a heartbeat and a credit card, because so many people like myself continue to be lied to, manipulated, and then tossed to the side. Then to add insult to injury, they are told they failed because they gave up and were just too negative. But with all that is stacked against you when you join, most people would give up, otherwise continue to lose more and more time and money.
I am fortunate because I was able to absorb this financial loss and move on. I never signed even one person up, so I didn't have anyone upset at me after they lost their money like I did. My mentor, based on what he told me, had a long list of people he got to sign up but whom never made any money. And by "never made money" I mean LOST their money. What's odd about that is he really didn't make much money off of them, so he really just wasted his own time. Like most multi-level businesses, most of the money he brought in went to those way above him in his upline. I recall one of the first meetings I attended where my sponsor showed up in his fancy sportscar and had got not one, but TWO speeding tickets on the way in. That's a few hundred dollars in fines right there. Then when I was at his house a few weeks later, a process server showed up and gave his wife three more photo radar tickets he'd accumulated. This guy was clearly leaking money like a siv due to his own personal indescretions. I drew the conclusion that someone who is that financially reckless would probably do anything to make that money back, even if his business practices are just as reckless. Now this guy was just one ACN rep, but he was the one I ended up with. I'm sure other ACN reps have had better and worse experiences with their mentors.
It's now a year after I joined ACN and I've not heard back from my mentor since we initially stopped contacting each other. I am still trying to find a way out of the $40/month video phone service and I'll probably have to pay $200 to cancel early. So a year later and I am continuing to be drained of my money due to ACN. But hopefully I will soon be done with ACN entirely and can move on wtih my life.
Please note that I have been 100 percent honest about all this. Clearly I do not like ACN, but I didn't have to call it names and be beligerant toward the company or my sponsor. I figured if I put my honest and accurate account of my experience then people can read this and judge ACN for what it really is, rather than being influenced by a bunch of negative rhetoric.

I have been with ACN for 11 months. I cancelled my DSL and long distance and went with Qwest for a much better price. ACN uses Qwest as a private contractor and I was fined a $200.00 early termination fee from ACN. I was never toll that there was an early termination fee. I am willing to send back their lousy DSL and cheap internet conection which I have had numerous problems thru my tenure with ACN. I will not pay the $200.00 early termination fee since I was verbally not told about it. Their costumer service people do not follow thru also. I need an E-mail, Fax#, or mailing address to finish this torment. Any suggestions?

ACN Opportunity Know what you're getting into

Before getting involved with ACN, you REALLY need to know what you're getting into.

Yes, it is a multi-level compensation company. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, since to some degree every industry works that way.

Their compensation plan is very good. You earn the small percentage when you only have a few representatives under you. You earn large percentages when there are lots of reps to earn from.

BUT

As a Rep for ACN, you WILL need to become very knowledgable of the different telecommunications companies, their competators, products, services and prices. You WILL need to monitor this often, as companies are constantly changing their special offers.

I ran into many, many people that were interested in joining, but would say..."I'll see how you do first." The problem with that is, you need people to join, not watch you, or you will never be able to make any money.

Do some checking into the people above you, called your Up-line. In my case, the Regional VP above me is a greedy person, with that reputation in the community. (Wish I had known that before I signed up.) When her bonuses were being affected, she no longer cared about helping others (as she professed) but the greedy ugly side showed itself.

However, I have an acquaintance under a different VP, who hasn't had any problems along those lines. I wish I had signed up under them. There is a lot of help in that group.

Before signing, I recommend you fully, FULLY understand how the bonuses work. This is the part that is most heavily promoted, and yes the money is great...if you can earn it. There are ways you can get 'bumped' and not earn anything. Again this is affected by people joining under you.

I do believe in the overall company concept and integrity. But, don't go in blindly like I did. Don't be swayed by emotion. Do you homework and decide if this is truly what you want to do. I am not a salesperson and you must become that, to succeed. I've seen Reps get pushy and obsessive with this. They push ACN on every person they come into contact with and you find yourself doing all you can to avoid them.

Good Luck

I did not attend any meetings but I have been hounded to make a meeting happen in my community and to become a rep. My problem is this when I explained the boardroom selection available in my community to train reps of course I had to have a student body of 20 people to have this meeting, the present rep not interested in finding his own customer base places the job in my hands then makes a commission from doing no work..., the rep rather hold this meeting at a house in our small town community of well to do's. Now since when do I have a perfect male stranger(s) from the city, under the age of 25, and his pals no doubt, with no crime check evident, into any home of a friend much less my own. My skeptic says he wants to case homes for future bonus material. Crime prevention people, crime prevention. If a company wants to hold a meeting let them rent and fill the boardroom, if it isn't a boardroom, and they want your house or your friend's house skip the date entirely ! Thank goodness I have a head on my shoulders !

Thank you for showing a little from both sides and not just heavy weighted to the negative side. I have been with acn for 45 days and have received my first bonus and am on track to receive my second! Our team in Oregon is tight knit, supportive and kind. I wish you would have the same experience I am having. Not a single negative or rude person in my upline!
