I accept that from now on I should read the “terms & conditions” a lot more closely, but I just couldn’t conceive of a company offering a trial that starts the day you place the order. Well that’s exactly what this fraudulent crook of a company decided to do and I get some third world inept operator taking my call that tried her hardest to up-sell me on another month of a product I didn’t even want one month of.

So I tell her that I received the acai product on Monday it was now Wednesday and I’m wondering why they charged me $89 after 3 days, she replies no it is charged 10 days from the time you place the order, you failed to call us back in time. I exploded! What sense does that make to start my trial of something before I receive it? I didn’t get to TRY it! She say’s oh well since you’ve already paid for it now why don’t you try it for the rest of the month. This crap went on for way too long and finally when I was frustrated to the verge of tears did she give me the cancellation instructions.

Can you believe after the 10 times I said I didn’t want it had I hung up too soon I would have still been in the system to get hit again next month! Scam artists! I am pissed and still out of money. And the cancellation process is so detailed and ridiculous, and they cover their criminal butts by putting this stupid info in the terms they know people rarely read through completely. Uuuggghh!

The same thing has happened to me. I was assured that I would get my $87.00 back within 5 - 10 business days, but over 2 weeks went by, and no refund. I called the [protected] # and actualy got through this time after trying other numbers with no one answering. I got through to a sopervisor which said that it would go back to the refund department, and they will decide on how much they refund me. I expect a full refund, but he said he wasn't sure how much I would get back. So I will wait another 3-5 buisiness days to find out.
Beware of this company!

Call your bank's fraud department. This is an ongoing scam. They told me to email them before my trial period was over to cancel. I emailed them twice. I reported this to my bank as fraud. Don't let them get away with this. I also called them and they have a recording about the hours. I called when they were suppose to be open and no answer.

The company that advertises AcaiAdvanced is a scam! When you cancel the product, the company still bill your credit card. The product doesn't even work! Have anyone been successful in cancelling their order?

I agree with all of you. I just learned that $59.95 is being taken from my account as well. My account holder gave me an 866# to call. I called and believe or not, a person answered (Rebecca). I explained my problem and she was very curteous and stated that the order will be cancelled and my account will be creditted (we'll see). I want to give you guys this number and hope that we all get what's coming back to us: [protected].

Sincerely, Cecelia

PLEASE DO NOT TRUST ACAI BERRY! I GOT THE TRIAL BOTTLE AND I DID SOME RESEARCH AFTER I PURCHASED WITH MY CREDIT CARD INFO, BUT I WAS WARNED THAT THEY WOULD TAKE MONEY OTHER THEN THE 4.99N S&H THAT THEY SAID! I THEN HURRIED AND TOLD MY CARD TO CANCEL MY CARD AND SEND A NEW ONE! NOW..MONTHS LATER, I CHECK MY EMAIL AND THEY HAVE THEIR NERVES TO SAY I OWE THEM 84.OO! THEIR PYSCHO THATS FOR SURE, , NEVER AGAIN, I LEARNED MY LESSON...BY THE WAY I DIDNT EVEN TAKE THE ACAI BERRY BECAUSE ITS NOT EVEN APPROVED BY THE FDA OR ANYTHING TO LET ME KNOW IM NOT GOING JUST FALL OUT AND DIE! ITS BASICALLY A GIMMIT FOR GUINEA PIGS (OINK OINK I PERHAPS) NOT ME SAID THE CAT!

I think there was a misunderstanding. I was an acai berry user before. I remembered that it was not a 30 day trial period but 14 day only. And you should cancel within that time or they'll charge $087.13 on your acct. Try this no. [protected]. They have very good and accommodating operators. They'll offer you no scripts and stories but solution.

The $29.95 charge was NOT for a product. I found that out this morning when I received my charge account statement. I called the number for that charge and discovered it was for an online lifestyle fitness service... which I did NOT sign up for nor enroll in. Never accessed the website at all. They're giving me a refund for May's charges but refused to refund the April charges. I am getting paperwork from my credit card company to protest the earlier charges... from four companies! Unbelievable! These companies should be shut down. They're scams! There were also foreign transaction fees on my statement today... from Great Britain! I shut down my credit card and the holder is issuing a new card with a new number. Good luck to you!

STEPS to TAKE

(1) Notify your credit card issuer (bank or credit union) and get these scam artists decoupled from your account. Cancel any credit card you used and get a replacement.

(2) log into https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and fill out a complaint form.

These folks are bad news. From what we see here, they have their hooks into victims and will not let go.

I see a couple of apologists on this site blaming the victims for not reading tiny print that the site is designed to divert your attention from. The conditions are not up front and they are not revealed until you've put in your personal information and credit cards already. What the ads are hawking are free samples. These sleasebags are tricking people and scamming them. The number of complains shows the severity of the deceit.

I tried to cancel and get a refund and they said I was to blame for the charges and would have to call back to check status

What poor customer service… they said that I ordered something from them and it was my fault that I did not receive product. When I called because they charged my account they said I should track down the product and call them back to request a refund. OMG I can’t believe this company- what a scam!

I have had the same problem only with the tooth whitening product. I signed up for a free trial via the internet for $6.99. I guess I did not read the fine print to see where I agreed to become a member and if I did not cancel in 14 days then I agreed to pay full price. This free sample consisted of 2 syringes full of product. I was charged $78.93 on 4-8-09. By the time I checked my home email and received notification from them, it was 4-20-09. I call the customer service dept irate and cancelled this agreement that I did not honestly enter into. Today I am checking my bank statement only to realize that on the same day I cancelled, this company took another $85.92 out of my account. I still have not received anything from these people. I am quite sure my calls were routed to India as these people have very botched english. No where but America does it happen that you get screwed like this with your OWN money and NO ONE will help. Last time I checked, consumers had rights. Guess not.

I wish I found this blog 2 weeks ago. I ordered a free trial of NATRAPURE. 1 week later a free tril of POWERFLUSH 5000 shows up. I read the terms, and called to cancel. Couldnt get through. I called a few days later. I spoke to a representative and the cancellation process was very easy, so I thought. The same day (with in my 2 week trial period) my card was charged 89.31. I have tsince disputed the claim with my credit card issuer.

I just cancelled acai by calling [protected]-well. I gave them my order number and they told me that it was cancelled. Today was the last day I could do it and not get charged. I was notified by my credit card fraud department that I might have a problem. Otherwise, I would have been charged for 3 different free products at around $79. each month. I am too late on Easy White labs as I cannot seem to get through to their number and I did not get an order number on that one.

I ordered Acai Berry Detox and had to cancel it due to an allergic reaction to some my sister-in-law gave me. I canceled it 2 hrs after I ordered it and they told my I would not be charged. 2 Weeks later my bank account had been charged and I called to complain and request my money back. They would not refund my money and they went ahead and sent it after I had canceled it. They were very rude on the phone when I called.

I ordered Acai trial order for 1.99. Then they also charged my card 39.95. 3 weeks later they charged another 44.90. When I called to complain, the girl (Rita) was as rude as hell and ended up hanging up on me because she said I was bashing the company by saying it was a rip off and I didn't agree to it. I also called in January to cancel but didn't get the name of who I talked to or the confirmation number and she pretty much called me a liar.

This is nothing but a HUGE scam.

You have to file fraudulent charges with your credit card company to get your money back. It's your money!

THIS INFORMATION IS POSTED ON THIS WEBSITE:

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is expanding, for the second time, its nationwide alert to consumers about tainted weight loss products containing undeclared, active pharmaceutical ingredients.

The FDA has identified additional weight loss products (Herbal Xenicol, Slimbionic, and Xsvelten) and new undeclared active pharmaceutical ingredients (fenproporex, fluoxetine, furosemide, and cetilistat).

"These tainted weight loss products pose a great risk to public health because they contain undeclared ingredients and, in some cases, contain prescription drugs in amounts that greatly exceed maximum recommended dosages, " said Janet Woodcock, M.D., director of the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. "Consumers have no way of knowing that these products contain dangerous drugs that could cause serious consequences to their health."

On Dec. 22, 2008, the FDA warned consumers not to purchase or consume 28 different products marketed for weight loss. On Jan. 8, 2009, the FDA expanded the list of tainted weight loss products to include 41 additional tainted products. The FDA will continue to update this list as warranted.

The products listed above, some of which are marketed as dietary supplements, are promoted and sold on various Web sites and in some retail stores and beauty salons. Some of the products claim to be "natural" or to contain only "herbal" ingredients, but actually contain potentially harmful ingredients not listed on the products' labels or in promotional advertisements. These products have not been approved by the FDA, are illegal, and include the following undeclared active pharmaceutical ingredients:

fenproporex – a controlled substance not approved for marketing in the United States;
fluoxetine – an antidepressant available by prescription only;
bumetanide – a potent diuretic available by prescription only;
furosemide – a potent diuretic available by prescription only;
rimonabant – a drug not approved for marketing in the United States;
cetilistat – an experimental obesity drug not approved for marketing in the United States;
phenytoin – an anti-seizure medication available by prescription only; and
phenolphthalein – a solution used in chemical experiments and a suspected cancer-causing agent that is not approved for marketing in the United States.
The FDA has inspected a number of companies associated with the sale of these illegal products and is currently seeking product recalls. Based on the FDA's inspections and the companies' inadequate responses to recall requests, the FDA may take additional enforcement steps, such as issuing warning letters or initiating seizures, injunctions, or criminal charges.

The FDA advises consumers who have used any products containing these ingredients to stop taking them and consult their health care professional immediately. The FDA also encourages consumers to seek guidance from a health care professional before purchasing weight loss products.

The health risks posed by these products can be very serious and include high blood pressure, seizures, tachycardia (rapid heartbeat), palpitations, heart attack, and stroke. Sibutramine, a controlled substance, was found in many of these products at levels much higher than the maximum daily dosage for Meridia, the only FDA-approved drug product containing sibutramine. These higher levels of sibutramine can increase the incidence and severity of these health risks. Fenproporex, another controlled substance, can cause arrhythmia and possible sudden death.

Health care professionals and consumers should report serious adverse events (side effects) or product quality problems to the FDA's MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program either online, by regular mail, fax or phone.

Online: www.fda.gov/MedWatch/report.htm
Regular Mail: use postage-paid FDA form 3500 available at: www.fda.gov/MedWatch/getforms.htm and mail to MedWatch, 5600 Fishers Lane, Rockville, MD [protected]
Fax: 800- FDA-0178
Phone: 800- FDA-1088

I signed up for a free trial, and tried to call and cancel prior to the end of the free trial. However, I could never get an answer. About a week later, I received three bottles in the mail and my card was charged almost $200.00. Because I could never get in touch with anyone at the company, I worked with the bank to cancel that card and get a new charge card number. You may have to take the same drastic step in order to avoid being continuously charged for something you don't want.

I am believing that we will soon hear of a class action suit against these companies because this is fraud.

I being a sucker and not doing any research went ahead & placed an order for the free trial of ACAI BERRY DETOX (F.W.M LABORATORY). [protected] is the # listed to call customer service. I have been trying to call that # for 4 days, all i get is a busy tone. Which made me feel uncomfortable & wondered what I got myself into. (idiot) I called the bank to see if the charges went through and FWM charged me twice. one charge of $2.02 & $1.97 whiched totaled to $3.99. My bank debit has a # listed which is [protected]. You can actually speak to a LIVE rep if you push option# 3. The rep cancelled my order, said I will not get charged in the future and that my trial bottle is for me to keep. The web site stated that I had to return the bottle in 14 days not to incur future charges. The rep insured me that I will not be charged for my trial, it is compliments of FWM. Ill see how that goes in a few week. GOOD LUCK!

Alternate # to speak to a live rep. : [protected] option #3

It is possible that you ordered through thier direct website and therefore were able to read the accurate terms and conditions. However, the advertisng links through the testimonial blogs (i.e. as seen on Rachel Rae, Oprah, etc.) do not specify those terms and conditions. Additionally, when you click on the "refund and return" link, you are provided with a number that is not in service. Tell me, if this company was reputable, why would there be SO MANY complaints? Why would there be more than one website? Why would a website copyrighted as recent as 2008 provide a non-working number? Why once you "do" cancel your order do you continually get billed as I have been? Why will they not allow you to speak with a Manager or Supervisor? Why do they refuse to send you something in writing or by e-mail confirming your cancellation?

I am sure that if I "wanted" this product and continued to buy from them - they would be as "nice" to me as they are to you.

I ordered Acai Berry pills from a site and cancelled it before the end of the 30 days. I was charged the full amount. That wasn't so bad. Associated with that charge was a charge from Self Help that I did not authorize. I called my banks fraud department and they removed the charge but it was there again this month. There is a phone number on the charge that you have to call to get them to stop some alleged program you signed up for. Call it and get them to take you off their list. These sites are illegally charging your charge cards. Keep an eye on them.

Dont buy this stuff unless you don't mind these people robbing your account everytime you turn around. They send the "FREE" trial, and then hit your acount for about $30.00, then they send you a huge box of it and hit your acount two more times for about $60.00 each time before you have the chance to call them.

When you call them, you don't get a person, nor do you get the option of a person. You should be able to get the number off of your checking account. So now you get a person, you tell them to stop stealing money from your account. They are very kind, and tell you that they will stop. You are all happy that they have told you that they wont steal any more money from you.

Next time you look at your account online, you notice another hit on your account, so you call them again.

Get use to it, you will have to call them atleast 4 or 5 times to make them stop.

I also have been experiencing the same thing with the trial order of Acai Berry. After using my debit card to pay the $5.95 shipping fee, my bank account was billed $88. within days of receiving my shipment. I called and cancelled the trial order and was given a confirmation number. After about 6 weeks, I was given a refund of the $88.00 but my account was then billed $29.95 by www.selfhelpff.com, which turned out to be a company called FitFactory, who is the billing company for Acai Berry.

Once they have your bank account or credit card number, the false charges don't stop.
This is a rip off company.
I have written to Oprah's website asking her and Dr. OZ to stop pushing this stuff, but have gotten no response.
