Beware of acai advanced. You will be doubled teamed! I ordered the free trail of the acai advanced c/o glf. The only thing they said you would be charged for is $5.95 shipping. They made me sick so I called and cancelled it within the trail period. They told me to send back the bottle and there would be no further charges and they gave me confirmation #. I asked again… is there anything else I need to do, would there be any more charges to my card and they said no. A week later I have a charge for $24.95… beside the charge it said, ” purchase vit*live lean aa 1”. I had no idea who that was so I called my bank and they gave me a phone number that was associated with the charge [protected]). I called the number and they said the charge was for the living lean weight loss management plan that I signed up with. I told them that I did not sign up for any weight loss plan and they told me that I did when I ordered the trail order of acai advanced. They said when you place that order you automatically sign up with them. I disagreed and asked her to show me ‘on the site’ where it states that I am doing that. Right above where you sign up for the trail there is a bubble that states: … plus free gift pass to liveleanforlife weight loss management plan… then she tells me to go way down to the bottom of the page where the site menu is and click on ‘terms and conditions’. I then told her no matter what, I did call and cancel and made sure before we hung up that there would be no further charges. She told me that they were a separate company and had nothing to do with them. I needed to call a different number to cancel with them. What a rip off!

ordered the FREE TRIAL product. Paid the S/H. After reading the reviews about credit cards being consistently charged, I phoned to be proactive and avoid this problem. The customer service rep was a jerk and assured me that I would incur problems having charges stopped on my credit card. Even WHEN I return the product before the 15 day period.
Read the reviews, side effects and fine print before purchasing. Ask yourself why some of the celebrities who use it are still over weight?

They will tack on extra charges that are hard to find even in the fine detail. They use endorsements for the Acai berry to post on their website making you think the endorsements are for their product, like ABC, CBS, Today Show, and CNN. But if you look closer, it has nothing to do with their product. NOt only do you have to call and wait at least 40 minutes to cancel the monthly fee of $64.95 for the crappy Acai Advanced product but you also don't realize at first that you must also call another number [protected] to cancel the Live Lean Weight Loss program or they will charge you an additional $24.95. This is a seperate company and a seperate call for another hour on hold. The product doesn't work and it is so difficult to get the return authorization. They continuously apologize for their systme being slow. What a headache!

I too...
June 2, 2009

have fallen into the trap...I am attempting to get out but I just started trying as of yesterday... I am seriously thinking of cancelling my bank debit card so I cannot be charged any further...yes, they have taken $88.00 from me and I did agree to pay the shipping/handling of $5.95...I am going to try the number that you gave and hope that I can get some results...I sent my unused bottle today certified mail which cost me $6.83 ...I have also been told of the particular email address to get a "reimbursement"...which I see that it is not a valid address either...WOW, I AM STUPID ALSO...I COULD HAVE DONE SO MUCH WITH THIS MONEY THAT I JUST THREW AWAY...I LEARNED A VALUABLE LESSON...! Thanks

A free trial offer was given on line and when I received the free trial offer, my card was charged the full rate plus they signed me up for a life time membership and I did not request to be a life time member. This is a company that's making a profit off of innocent people. I will fill out a formal complaint with the better business bureau. I have a copy of the offer and it did not stimpulate that I would be charged anything more than the shipping and handling of $4.95.

I wanted to try this porduct and for 5.95 I couldn't see the problem. When I received my credit card statement there was a 24.95 charge and a 64.95 charge. I was shocked! I tried for 3 days to call them but either was a no answer or busy. I finally got a hold of them and cancelled the whole works. I ended up eating the 24.95 and 64.95 but at least I was able to cancel the balance. By the way, the 24.95 is for a bottle of Acai Advanced and the 64.95 was to join their "club." I asked for a refund or for a RMA (their way of sending the product back) but was told to keep the bottle and would not be getting a refund.

As everyone else I was scammed. The one statement on this web site said that no one reads the terms and conditions. Well I read mine and made a copy of it and no where on my copy does it state that you will be charged 15 days from the time you ordered it. It states you have a free trial period. How can you have a free trial period if you don't have the product? They make sure they send it out to you after those 15 days so there is nothing you can do about it. GLF is the company and they are scamming a lot of people. I filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office of my state and the state of Maine and a complaint with the BBB.
I sure hope that they get caught and have to pay the price!

I was charged 64 dollars 2 weeks after ordering the 30 day free trial. cancelled the item prior to knowing they were going to charge me. When I saw that charge, I called to complain and give them my comfirmation number for that cancalation, I was told that that was the cost of the bottle. THERE WAS NO FREE TRAIL PERIOD. Do not get ripped off by the company. If I was these complaints before ordered, I would have never ordered this product. I am so sorry the Rachael Ray has her name associated with this company because I was directed to the company on her web site.

I authorized a $5.95 trial days later I recieved another charge for almost 10 times the authorized price on top of the $5.95. A few weeks later another charge. I called and had trouble speak to anyone. when I finally spoke to someone they said another shipment had gone out. I said I was not interested in another shipment. I was told there is nothing they can do until I receive the product and call back for an RMA#. They gave me a tracking number and I found that the product was delivered to the wrong address. They have stolen almost $200 from me for a $5.95 trial. This company needs to be shut down.

Was lead to believe if not completely satisfied with product could return for full refund and cancellation without any problems...as it states at the bottom of the invoice " if not completely satisfied simply call [protected] between 8:30am and 5:00pm EST to request an RMA and send the product back according to instructions. Customer is responsible for return shipping fees." Willing to pay shipping fees just want my money back for the product that has not been opened...seal still intact. Customer service replied could send product back but would still be charged for the product even though seal was intact. Acai advanced is not living up to their guarantee of their product. COMPLETELY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS COMPANY! WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN OR RECCOMEND THEM TO ANYONE! BEWARE!

First of all, there is no free trial with this product. They charge you about $66.00 at the end of the trial period for that bottle sent as a free trial. I received it four days before the end of the 'free trial' date. Then they charge you for the next shipment, same price. So you are out a $132. the first month plus that shipping and handling. If you cancel and return it you also pay shipping and handling.
Attached to this is a membership that is about $25. a month.
I'm also experiencing headaches and stomach cramps after three days of use.

I did purchase the free trial for $5.95. I immediately received a call from the company saying that they could not access funds from my account. I told them that I was having some problems with me account and to cancel the order. They said that they would. I did not receive the product so I thought it was taken care of then, 1 month later it is in my mail box. I called them right away and explained that it had been canceled. The girl told me just to keep the pills and there should not be any more orders and NO monies should be taken out of my account. That was yesterday 7/1/09. Today 7/02/09 I saw that $69.95 was deducted from my bank account.

I have discussed this with my bank and they said that I MUST send back the product no matter what the company says in order for them to help me. I am going to contact them again and write the Boston BBB as suggested by someone on this site.

I ordered a trial order of Acai Advanced for just the shippng fee of $5.95 and they sent me a bottle out for $64.95. Their invoice states if you are not satisfied, call the number o [protected] and request a return. I would have to pay for postage back. They told me I couldn't return this order and would have to pay for it but would stop sending me anymore. When this gets billed to my credit card, I will not pay the bill and argue that their invoice says if you are not completely satisfied to request a return. What a rip off.

My wife ordered the Acai Adavnced as everyone mentions below. Before I caught the charges, we were hit with the $5.95 charge, $64.95 for not cancelling (her mistake), $24.95 for Living Lean (buried in the Terms and Conditions), and $74.90 for our next bottle of Acai which just arrived yesterday. We spoke with the compnay (Brad) and as everyone has found they are difficult to reach. Once you reach them they are unwilling to offer any refunds. Luckily we were "allowed" to cancel further charges, but I have alerted my bank to refuse any further charges just in case. The money is not he issue. I even offered to eat the 5.95 and 64.95 charges. But that was a no as well. Mitkae one was my wife signing up for these scams. Mistake two was for them to continue to act this way. They will eventually get sued and lose all of their gains. Berkley Pharmaceutical is agret example of similar company. These are the "Similin Bob" commercials. Although now owned now by a legitimate company, the original owners were sent to jail for 25 years and 2 years (2 year for the 75 year old mother of the owner). They were charged with mail fraid, wire fraid, bank fraud and a myriad of other issues.

I contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint. The link to their company on the BBB site is http://www.bbb.org/boston/business-reviews/health-and-medical-products-scientifically-unproven/3v-marketing-in-portland-me-116972/. They have a rating of "F" with 216 compaints filed against them. I filed mine thirning. I suggest everyone also file complaints.
You wonder how people go to work each day knowing they are scamming people.

For those complaining, I get the product and I love it. As a consumer it is your responsibility to read the terms and conditions. Just because you see 5.95 S/H doesn't mean that it is. There are always T&C to read and if you don't read them then that is your fault. Everything that is done is told to you on the website. I have been ordering this product for 5 months and I have had no problems. I have done the same stupid thing and not read the terms and conditions, and I ended up with charges of $150 or more, because I didn't read the T&C. That is what it is all about. And it isn't small when you pull it up it is size 14 font. And it is correct about the acai and live lean I had to call a different number to cancel the live lean. I don't know why but you do. But all you have to do is read one small page and you have no problems and if your too stuck on yourself to do that. Then that is your problem.

I was charged $89.89 to my credit card for this product that I thought was a trial sample. Shortly after that I called to let them know I didn't want the product and I was going to send it back. They said to send the remaining product back & they would cancel my subscription which I never ordered to begin with. I asked them to refund my credit card but was told that I didn't call within the alloted time & they couldn't do refunds. Are they kidding? This is a rip-off as far as I'm concerned. I cannot believe they could charge my credit card without me authorizing them to do that. Any ideas on how I can get my credit card refunded & who I should contact? Please advise. Thank-You for your help

Sincerely,

Anna Dattalo

I wrote before my experience, but also would like to equip you if you have already ordered or sincerely would like to try something without being gouged. Here are the customer service numbers to cancel, since they will charge you before you get the product, and the time is from order, you must call before you get the information to cancel, then if you like it, you may order it yourself, not by being cheated. The number for Acai Advanced is 1.888.247.5160. And the number for Live Lean for Life is 1.888.272.6483 (this is the program you are signed up for by default). When I called I only had to call one number to get a confirmation number from both, we'll see how that works. These numbers are posted on the site under contact us, just looked today, but of course did not think to look when oredering. Be safe and call in advance because their customer service is nothing but intake people they will not help you.

I made the mistake of responding to an on line pop up ad. Offered Free Trial of Acai Advanced. Pay only shipping. $5.95 when I didn't respond they wrote back and lowered the shipping to $2.95. I bit. Twenty day free trial. I called to cancel after 19 days and found that they had already charged $90.00 to my credit card. They start the free trial when you order not 14 days later when the product arrives. They will not provide a business address that is not a po box. They do not have managers or customer service to deal with complaints. When I called my credit card company I was told not to expect a refund from Acai, as the company ignors all correspondence from the credit card companys. The most you can do is block future charges to your card, because they will continue to charge you month after month. The final disappointment is that their product is a placibo and to get the real effects you should buy acai for 1/4 of the price at your local health food store.

Can Not get anyone to answer the phone in order to cancel product. Product has made me sick, I called to canced and no answer, afte 37 minutes on the phone I hung up. Tried to call back and busy signal. Everyday is a busy signal so I get charged $64.95 for another month and do not receive the product and then charged $24.95 for a program that you automaticly get enrolled for when you purchased this product, without your knowledge. There is a different number that you have to call to cancel this membership. But once again, no one will answer the phone in order to cancel. Remember if you do not have enough money in your account, your bank pays this and then charges you another $30 for ISF. NO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

This partucular Product Aci Advanced HLM was recommended by the Opra Winphrey Show, so I sent for the free trial and paid the shipping. I am unable to take this product and ask to have it returned, but told I didn't need to. Now, I'm charged for another bottle to the tune of $74.90 with $9.96 shipping ! I've called three times and have actually talked to a Lila & a Henry and they tell me their systems are being work on and cannot assist my complaint and to call back. I've tried now to call back and the Phone number is always busy. I'd appreciate some assistance to get this bottle off my hands and my account credited. Thanks .

I ordered a product from Acai Advanced for 99 cents shipping with an 18 day option to cancel before being bill full price for this order and sent another bottle of the product. I received an email from the company that the product had been shipped UPS 3 days after my order, but when I had not received the order 9 days later and called to cancel because of nonshippment, I was unable to get an answer from any of the 3 phone numbers I had for this company, and unable to cancel on the website they had sent me. I had to end up cancelling my debit card with my bank so I would not lose any money with this company which is obviously a fraud. Their fraud practices were further confirmed when I located other similar customer complaints on the net.

Ordered product on the 18 of June, their invoice said shipped the 26, post mark showed mailed July 1. Then I noticed I was signed up in some program and would receive product each month and would be charged $64.95. (Which I did not want) I called the number on the paperwork that came with it and got no response (like most everyone else that posted here). So I the called the number listed on my chargecard statement. WOW! a person, received return number and instructions. I will mail with return receipt so I will know they received the product back and I did call my card company and closed that accound and opened new to prevent them from charging any more then the $5.95 paid for shipping. Since everything is a learning experience, I have learned to check things more closely. I want to thank all of you that posted your experienc here.

I ordered this product on 6-15-09. However I picked up this product today (7-15-09) I was in the hospital and had to have an operation that kept me in the hospital for 3 days and recovering in my home for the last 2 1/2 weeks. Unable to drive, go to work, or pick up any mail at the post office. I have not tried this product and my credit card has been charged $64.95 and an additional $24.95 for a website that i know nothing about. Terms were unclear and I feel that charges are being charged without my authorization. I cancelled this account and hopefully would receive a refund due to my situation. Thank You Sandra Padilla

I ordered a sample of the Vcia Advanced, shipping and handling charges only $9.95.

when I returned the unused portion of the product. I was charged $74.90 on my card, plus $24.94 for shipping and handleing.
They shipped the bottle back to me charging an additional shipping and handeling charge of $24.94.
I disputed this on my charge card and shipped the bottle back to them. They sent me another bottle for another $74.90 + $24.94 Shipping and handling
When I called Acai Advanced, I spoke to a lady who was very rude and told me there really was nothing I could do about the charges, or the merchandise.

The old Free Trial Scam. Get product sample for shipping and handling. Cancel within 15 days and get you money back. Problem is that they bill your credit debit card immedately but wait several days to ship the product which arrives on the 14th or 15th day. If you are fast enough try and reach them before the 15th day is up. Good Luck. The lines are always busy or "all circuits are down" recorded message is played. I have been trying to reach these people for three days, but already my credit card account has been billed $64.95. Also this company is associated with some other company that sells some weight loss program under the name Vit*Live Lean for $24.95. Suspect another scam, they don't answer their phone either. I've had experience with this type scam before. Their Terms and Conditions are onerous and backed by tight restrictions developed by their lawyers. You're going to be out at least your $4.95 plus the cost of one month's supply. It's a shame that these people can get away with sort of thing. I wonder if Oprah knows that they imply she approves their product? So live and learn and READ THE FINE PRINT!

THIS IS A SCAM! When you call the customer support number that they provide to send back the product you are just left on hold [protected]). The phone number listed on my Amex statement [protected]) doesn't work. The statement also listed a "doing business as" section which stated www.vytalis.com which when you go to that website it brings you directly to a screen which is looking for your credit card info to get place an order. Thankfully I used my Amex card, so I just got off the phone with Amex and explained to them that I can't get in touch with anyone to cancel my order so I was able to get Amex to block any future charges from Acai Advanced.

I purchased this product thinking everything was going to be great for a trail free of only $5.95. The product made me break out in a really bad rash all over my body. I stop using the product called to cancel further service with them.

A lady name Joanna told me yeah sure but then let me know the had already charged me $64.95 for the stupid bottle. I was at a lost of words for the scam I had gotten myself into. Joanna gave me the address (Acai- Advanced p.O. Box 17855 Portland, ME 04112) to make a complaint or for request to return product.

That was at the beginning of June, it's now July. Still haven't heard back from them or recieve my return. The customer service just lacks.

Watch out, watch out, and don't do anything with this company. They will take all your money because they can. They don't care to be committed to providing superior products and service to their customers. They don't want to make anything right with there customers.

There is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Guaranteed with them at all. Yes, it's only about $70.00 bucks but how did $5.95 turn into that. If you are unsatisfied with something you should be able to return the product for half or all your money. I believe it's the right thing to do.

I hope this has made people think twice about this company and there product. Also, here is some of there contact phone numbers: [protected].

Acai Advanced advertised a free trial period prior to charging my account; however, my account was charged prior to my receiving the product. In the fine print of the confirmation form there were additional charges from a company called Live Lean for Life. When I called the numbers provided in the small print, no one picked up the phone after I held for over 30 min.

I thought the company would be reputable since it was advertised on a local, reputable online news site as a sidebar. I was wrong and am paying $100 for it.

I have had to change my credit card number to stop the charges. First time I was scammed and boy am I angry.

The phone number to cancel the "program" and future shipments is [protected]. Be prepared for busy signals and hangups. I got 3 busy signals and 7 hangups before a customer service agent came on the line.

I was informed that I had enrolled in a program and could cancel it right then. After that, I was informed that in order not to be charged the "full" amount for the bottle I already had - remember that "free" trial for $5.95? - I have to return the unused portion to the company within 3 business days.

Really? Are you kidding me? So I got a return number to put on the retutn package.

In addition to gut-wrenching pain after taking only one pill, now I have to return the package. Good thing I didn't throw it out, huh!?!?!

This is as close to a scam as a barely legal operation can get. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

I ordered Acai Advance for the trial period for $1.99. I was supposed to receive the shipment in a week. After two weeks passed, I call them and told them I didn't receive my shipment. They said I should receive it soon and would extend my trial period til December 30th. I had til the end of December 30th to call and cancel. When I called that day, I couldn't get through to the number. I continued to call on the 31st, January 1st, January 2 and January 4th, and finally got through on January 5th. I cancelled both the Acai and the Live Lean, which came hand in hand with the Acai, some website to help you lose weight. The person told me they would cancel everything, never told me to call another number for Live Lean. I get my charge card this monthy and there are two charges of $59.95 and $24.95. When I call them, they said I called passed the date. When I continued with them on the phone, they said that I was supposed to send the bottle back. They asked me if I read the fine print. I told them I didn't, that the person I spoke to didn't mention anything about returning the bottle. They are saying I have to pay the $59.95 whether it worked or not. I can't believe I fell for this scam! I am reporting this to my credit card company. They gave me these two companies 888 numbers and they are both fast busy signals. This company is a total SCAM!

They don't have a website to submit a question too order to return an order. You need to call to get an RMA # and I have tried to call 3 times, waiting on hold for atleast 30 minutes each time and have never talked to anyone.

I returned some product to them todau via UPS without an RMA # so I will just have to wait and see. Seems to be very sketchy business practice to me and I am a business owner myself and wish the government would regulate this as much as they do everything else.

I phoned the customer service number only 4 days after receiving the promotional 'free' product in the mail. (I only was obligated to pay for shipping and handling.) After being on hold for nearly 30 minutes, I spoke to a representative and requested my name be removed from any future deliveries. She told me that the promotional period was only good for 15 days - starting from the original date that the order was placed. I told her I was not going to pay for any future deliveries or orders, and that I did not feel it was good business practice to suggest a customer be obligated for a period of the 15-day trial, when they did not have the product in their possession. (How can you try a product when you don't even have it?) She told me that I would not be charged for future deliveries, however, there was already 1 automatic delivery which I would be charged for.
I was given a bogus website, and I was told this website would contain directions for return instructions, so that I could return the unused portion of the product I had received only 4 days ago (www.support@acai-advanced.com), which I am unable to access, therefore, unable to contact a person.

Add me to the list - a (former!) sucker for "free trial" offers. Another person who has two comments on here - Marcia - was totally right: file a complaint with the BBB of Eastern MA, ME, RI & VT (boston.bbb.org). I filed my claim YESTERDAY and the company has ALREADY SETTLED for the full amount I requested - $64.95 for the Acai Advanced and the $24.95 for the "Live Lean for Life". It probably helped that I had printed out/read the online order confirmation - where it said that you could return the unused portion during the trial period without any further obligation. Also a plus - I bought delivery confirmation from the Post Office when I mailed the product back.

If you do file a claim, be sure to request verification of the cancellation of any and all future billings and/or shipments. Just to be extra safe I also requested that after verification of same I would be removed from any/all memberships through that company and removed from the company's records.

Like I said, it only took 24 hours for the company to respond to my claim with a full refund and all the cancellations I requested. Stick up for yourselves, people! Once burned, twice shy.

I called to cancel within the alloted 15 day trial period on May 4 at 4:16 p.m. eastern. I was on day 12 of taking Acai and the information sent with the capsules said you needed to call to get a RMA to cancel. I was on hold for approximatley ten to twelve minutes. When the customer service person answered, Maria, she asked for my name. After a few minutes she said their system had crashed earlier and it was now operating slowly. She repeatedly thanked me for my patience. I told her the purpose of my call. She said she could extend the 15 day trial. I said no thank you. She then tried my phone number and address and said she couldn't get anything to come up. I told her I had my order number on the shipping form, but she said she couldn't search that way. What? Come on. At 4:28 p.m. she asked if she could call me back. I gave her my work phone number. I asked when she would get back to me. She said before 5 p.m. or tomorrow morning. It's after 5 p.m. now and I don't expect to recieve a call tomorrow morning. I plan to call my credit card company and prevent them from charging my account. My hunch is that the people anwering the phones are evaluated and compensated for keeping people from cancelling and/or upselling. If I do receive a call tomorrow and can cancel without additional charges I will write another post. I'm betting I won't need to do it.

I tried this "free trial" and cancelled as soon as I got the information stating that I was going to get continuous shipments. About a month later I seen a charge on my credit card for $74.90, when I called I had to wait on hold for 15 mins just to talk to some snobby girl who said there was nothing she could do for me, I had to pay the $74.90 even though I called and cancelled, I repeatedly asked to speak with a supervisor and she said there was none available to speak with. After going around and around I got so upset I just hung up. I am filing a complaint with the better business bureau and I suggest anyone else who is having this issue do the same so these scam artists cant do this to more and more people...

I ordered a free trial bottle of producat. When I received I tried numerous times to call to cancel and return due to my doctor's warning about the product. I could not get through on their phone number nor did they respond to email I submitted. They charged my account $74.90. They sent another bottle the following month and charged me $74.90 again for a total of $149, 80. Todaqy I finally got a response when I sent an email asking what it would take to get a response from them - perhaps a class action? I finally got to talk to "Heather" employee number4879 today 5/28/09. She stated that she could not "allow" me to return products. The statement that came with the product states very clearly how to return. Yet Heather refused to allow a return. Therefore my account will be charged the $149.90 and I have not used this product. The bottles remain unopened. This is tantamount to fraud. I am submitting this complaint to the attorney general for review and will continue to seek justice.

They shorted the number of pills in the bottle by three. That's not very many for one order but if you count all their orders it sure adds up. I tried for one whole day to reach them and most of the second before I got their answering service. I tried several days before and it was only after the fifth day of trying I was able to reach someone. They also used trickery in the wording and the contract. Now I read there are many people who are getting charges on their cards after they called and cancled. It's to bad that companies have to be dishonest. I really feel they tried to scam me.

I ordered Acai advanced for free minus the $5.95 S/H charge. 15 days later I get a charge on my visa for 24.95. This is a charge for a company called Acai Live Lean for Life weight Loss Mgt plan. You are automatically signed up for this "service" when you order Acai advanced and when you cancel Acai advanced this service is not cancelled. You must call a seperate company to get your money back call [protected] and cancel this plan after you order Acai advanced or better yet NEVER order Acai advanced at all. You can get these vitamins at walgreens BOGO. I called when I found this charge on my visa and only recieved a $10 refund. I hope this helps and from now on I plan to research any "free" products on-line in the future. I found all these complaints easily by simply googling the product name.
Good luck!

THIS IS FROM ANOTHER PERSON WHO ALSO FEELS AS I DO:

BEWARE OF ACAI ADVANCED. YOU WILL BE DOUBLED TEAMED! I ordered the free trial of the ACAI ADVANCED c/o GLF . The only thing they said you would be charged for is $5.95 shipping.

I called to cancel the Acai and was given TWO cancellation numbers.
After the $88. was charged to my Visa, I contacted them. Of course,
they aren't affiliated with the other company. I had to go on line to get a number to call Nature Cleanse. They have a 'no refund' policy. Well, after you call one company that you went thru their website and received TWO cancellation numbers, you would think that takes care of both? WRONG. Then Nature Cleanse states no refund policy.
I will submit another separate complaint for them.
