ABSA Bank harassed

We have been harrassed by an absa debt collector for the past 4 weeks. We made 2 arrangements with the bank to pay off a balloon payment. One on email and telephonicly in the bank its self. After no correspondence back from the bank we thought all was ok as we had made arrangements and had a reference number. Only to find out we where still been harrassed by th debt collector Mr Combrink, Hans. We then paid the debt in full at the bank. To be harrassed again by Mr Combrink, Hans. Then there was a so called balance of R496.55. Which when we paid the outstanding balance of R49868.94. We where told that is the total outstanding. So then we got harrassed for R496.55. After emailing the same Mr Combrink, Hans that the R496.55 is paid in full. We still received more harassment from Mr Combrink, Hans. First of all we had asked for the settlement figure of the outstanding debt and paid it cash in full. To then still be harrassed for R496.55. This is unacceptable unprofessional and absurd that this person is allowed to deal with customers on Absa banks behalf  I would like to lay a grievance of harassment against Mr Combrink, Hans. And take this as far as it can go.  We seek your urgent assistance in this matter thank you Kind regards
Brandon Wallace

ABSA Bank customer care/enquiries

My wallet was stolen at Gateway Mall Umhlanga, , few minutes after that money was withdrawn from my account. In my wallet there were cards for my husband and mom.Mom is a 78yr old who is blind, so I keep her cards. They attempted to withdraw money from her card but the notification said it was wrong pin., they attempted twice.I asked the lady at Absa branch Umhlanga gateway to cancel her card after giving her the date of birth, surname and initials and she blatantly refused to cancel the card whilst the thugs were busy attempting to withdraw her money. All three ladies at the customer care/ enquiries desk refused to help.Would the thugs been successful to guess the pin on the last attempt, all money would be gone.I told them I didnt know her ID number by heart I would have done it in the ATM.I found this behavior to be heartless, insensitive and cruel!

ABSA Bank absa home loans poor communication from credit managers seems they don't care for clients at all

I have been an ABSA client since United Bank days and I'm supposedly a platinum customer probably only to pay higher bank fees. I applied for a home loan of R1, 6 Million on a house in Pretoria I paid a R385k deposit I had an existing home loan for R840000 for my house in Strubenvale in Springs which only has R50000 outstanding I now receive R11250 per month renting this property I have 2 motor vehicles financed through ABSA my Credit Card my Cheque account I have dealt with the ABSA consultants for the last year trying to get a Bond on my new house which my company paid cash for and ABSA just don't care I'm probably going to have to sell my house to repay my company due to ABSA's credit managers just saying due to affordability we can't offer you a home loan. The most frustrating thing of all when I first applied for the home loan ABSA recommended to make the affordability easier I need to cancel my flex reserve which I had on my strubenvale house which was over R750k which now I don't even have available to use. The consultant Shirley Roets in was ever so helpful but the credit managers don't care and just reject as they feel the risk is too high I sent a motivational email pleading with ABSA to approve some amount but they just don't care my live in partner has a bussiness account with ABSA for her own business and we needed to get our book keepers finacial reports and have them audited to verify her income ABSA wouldn't accept them because she never paid her self a salary so we implimented her transfering her salary into a nedbank account for a 5 month period and she kept her personal expenses seperate from her business expenses now the Credit managers can't verify her income because the IT34 doesn't reflect her income Nedbank are in the process of verifying the IT34 as a service they offer on her personal account.

it seems regardless of how long you have been a client with ABSA you mean nothing to them yesterday i received confirmation from Shirley Roets that unfortunately ABSA can't assist with a home loan not even 1 cent this is shocking i am today looking into porting my whole portfolio from ABSA to Nedbank which i never wanted to do because up to now ABSA was great for my car purchases 6 of them in the past my 2 previous home loans .

But right now ABSA are so far on the bottom of my list of banks just because they don't care about their client at all !

I'm so shocked at the poor customer service that comes from the credit managers ironically ABSA private bank contacted me asking me to join i said to the consultant you must be joking after all the issues i have had with this home loan application i was granted a conditional approval in September by ABSA for R1, 8 Million then the credit managers just rejected it just saying due to affordability

I hope there is someone at ABSA who is able to motivate the Credit manager to re look my application but i'm not holding my breath

Home loan reference [protected] ALLAN MR SG & HERHOLDT MISS M

regards a disheartened ABSA customer

ABSA is a big, selfish bank that is not thinking for people the CEO and directors they just think for themselves and their pockets only, cause I brought a repossessed house 3 years ago and paying since and not staying on it I have approach them, giving them court judgement and a proof of what is the problem regards to these houses and I have explain that this house is the one of those houses of ex employees of premier foods and they know about it, these employees said their never sign any bond with banks they don't know why these houses were repossessed by banks because these employees of premier foods took their pension fund pay off the balance .which means this house fall under the scope of Premier foods dispute so my self and others we became the victims of Banks and state urgencies .

ABSA Bank Sale of property

I am currently busy trying to sell my property with the help from Absa programme that I was put under. We are on the final stages where the property has to be registered under the new owner

Absa suddenly sends me an AOD stating that I must pay an amount of R38k, the amount I was not told about when I was signing at the attorneys offices.

I owe the bank R188k interest inclusive, the buyer paid R200k cash plus R10k shortfall. So where does the R38k fit in? I should be getting that amount as a refund from the bank not the other way round.

ABSA Bank service

Good day

I was shocked to see that the ABSA branch in Zastron Free State does not even keep us their small stock like plastic bank coin bags.

As i asked if i could get a few bags because we have a lot of coins to be sorted and then banked, the lady tried to help but there were only 5 old used plastic bags and they gave me 4 FNB coin bags (i suppose a previous customer had the same problem then using another banks bags to bank at ABSA). This is really very bad service and i expect the manager to keep an eye on regular stock like rubber bands, plastic bags and paper clips.

I am bringing this to your attention as this is not the first time i have experience bad service.

I then when to FNB to get bags and will from now on bank my things there.

We want to proud of our town and its service and would appreciate if you can sharpen up your teams customer service.

They could have at least offered me some help by ordering and tell me i could come back next week, but there is no going the extra mile for customers.

ABSA Bank fixed deposit

I have been to the Absa Branch, Smith Street and Gardiner Street.
sat with the consultant for 45 minutes and could not open a fixed deposit account. The consultant tried to process the information many time, and failed. I had another errand to run, so I excused my self for about 15 min. The consultant told me the system was back up again. we did the finger printing again, photo copy of the docs, seems like the system failed again. I was requested to try another computer, and do the entire process again - one hour later. I refused to wait any longer. I complained to the Bank manager, all he could tell me, was please take a seat another consultant will assist you. If i could wait to be assisted by another consultant, then I could have continued with the one already processing me?

ABSA Bank my account that was frozen

I have a ABSA savings account and on 24th of March I tried lock on my internet banking because I wanted to load a new beneficiary then I received a notification that I cannot lock on my account. I immediately phoned the internet customer help line and was informed that my internet banking was blocked cause my bank charges for my internet banking of the previous month could not be debited insufficient funds and this amount was R67.00. I asked the consultant who assisted me whether this amount is not going to debited automatically from my account and if internet banking is going to be reinstated automatically after the amount is debited and she said no she is going to give me a reference number then I have to phone the customer helpline the following day, Saturday at 14:00 authorize them to debit this amount and then they are will be able to reinstate my internet banking. On the 25th I have received notification via sms that my salary was paid in and then I went that morning to my the Silverton branch to request that by internet banking to be reinstated which they have done. After my visit to the bank tried to purchase goods with my debit card and this was declined I went outside the shop to draw money to draw money at an ATM wish was successful. I tried the Sunday again to purchase with my debit card and was and is still blocked.

On Thursday I received a call from ABSA Loans that my debit order deduction of R2 000.00 was not received and I told them that I have received notification that my debit order was deducted from my account but they told me that it was returned as my account is frozen and they are going to hand me over to the legal department if I do not pay the amount immediately after I have spoken to them I have checked my sms notification and to my surprise I saw only one of the loans to the amount of R1 500.00 went off and I assumed that the debit order of R2 000.00 and I have not received a sms that the R2 000.00 was returned. I have also received a call from another that my debit order of R500.00 did not go off.

I just need to know that how is it possible that my whole account can be frozen just because of a R60.00 bank charges that did go off. I could understand if my only my internet usage was blocked but to block my whole account and my other concern is how it can be possible that monies were deposited into account and only some of debit orders were successful. My two ABSA loans normally gets deducted as soon as my salary reaches my account therefore I assumed that both amounts were debited. I cannot use my debit card as yet and need to know whether I have to go to my branch again to activate this and also whether this is normal procedures with ABSA to freeze and active account just because of bank charges of R60.00 that did not go off my account since my salary is paid into this account account each month?

I really immediately need confirmation about this because I do not want to change my banker but if this is normal process by ABSA then I have no choice but to change my banker.

ABSA Bank absa bad service forcing me to pay r1200

Thisabsa have a very bad customer service in all south african banks i dealt with, ill never ever recommend to a friend, friend of a friend, a family friend, a colleque, a family member to all my social network friends. 0n the 1/12/2016 i received a cal from absa telling me they adding a car insurance to the car. My question to the guy was as from when? He answeared and say if im not providing a proof of insurance for the car they will add it. We started to have a discussion about this and i asked what would happen if i start a new cover from 1/01/2017 as the premiums are also going down? He said to me no i need to provide with the cover asap otherwise my next instalment will include r1200 cover, ihe then asked me how long can they waith for me. I explained to him that i cancelled my car insurance with budget cause i need to choose a different insurer that ill benefit and of my choice, i told the guy i managed to get a quote ftom discovery insure, i just need to give them a go ahead. The line just cut off while im speaking to him and he never called me back as he called me during work hours at work.

1. I phoned absa the following day and they refered me to aip for more info of what is happehing.
2. I phoned aip to find out what is the amount for that will be added to my car instalment, as im being refered to them. The lady told me its to insure the car against anything happening and anyone that has a license can drive it.
3. The was a miss communication between myself and the lady as she did not able to answear my questions.
4. I explained to aip that i will never pay two car insurances for 1 car ever and they must make comments on their system that no amount that will be denited out off my account without my corcern. The lady started to argue with me ect.
5. On the 11/12/2016 received the car instalment statement from absa for r5380 to be debited on the 25/12/2016.
5. I went to the branch again to speak to absa about this matter, the guys at collection deprtment they very rude, they dpeak to their client that pays off their salaries every month like any how they want, which i ended up telling them to makes notes of what i said which is no debit order will go out from my bank other than the signed amount for the car instalment.
6. Ive been paying the car cash to the branch untill today, as no one answered my question.
7. I emailed aip my new insurance documents, they replied and say they cant help me untill insurance is effective on the 25/12/2016, i fowrded the same email again to aip with the documents attached.
8. I was then told ill be refunded the amount back, i explained to them i never paid it what refund they talking about.

8. Absa is now harrasing me with r1200 for november 16 premium, which i dont understaant where does it come from as i mentioned early that i only received a cal from absa on the 1/12/2016 telling me about adding insurance to my instalment as from december 2016.
9. Im being forced to pay r1200 by absa for november 2016 which i was not informed about.

10. Ive been talking to absa collection center about this and none of all 15 consultants that i spoke answear me. Of why this was not communicated to me. I requested the copy of the recorded call from 1/12/2016 they refused to give it to me.
11. Im fed up with absa as much the dealer recommended absa, but the experience is very bad.
12. I keep receiving calls threaten about having a bad record with credit beraur, which i told them i dont care as i will never pay absa r1200 claiming is for november but they only told me about december 2016.
13. All they concern about is collecting money from me but questions and requests that i asked im not getting an answear of where does november come from.

14. Ive been receiving a good service from other banks with good communication for the past 5 years and paying r5000 a month was never an issure to me as the service is very good.

15. I explained to absa that my signed contract does not deatail the insurance company, the amount, and the benefits or copy of the insurance that ive been told im liable for as no documents was sent to me.

16. I told absa to take legal action as i will never pay r1200 for november as i was only informed about december.

17. Bringing my business to absa was a huge bad mistake i never made in my life. And im not happy to continue my business with them.
18. This was the last, after all i still receive calls from them offering me a credit protection plan who said ill die any time soon
19. I need absa answear my questions of why am i being liable for r1200 amount and not communicating with me about that.
20. Whichone to take as the call i received did not say anything about november insurance.
21. Is this how absa makes money out of people?
22. No payment arrangement ill make with absa, because i dont know what im paying for.
22. I need a solution on this, i will never allow the bank to control me.

23. Im paying car instalment everymonth to received such pathetic service.

24. Loosing a lifetime client for r1200 and bad communication would not be a suprise to asba as im not the first person to complain about this horrible service. My number [protected] for more info

ABSA Bank absa credit card - bad service

In December I applied for a credit card increaseknowing that I will have to hire a care for the holidays, my increase was approved, only to f8nd out in January when the company I hired from only charged me on my credit card that the increase was never applied which had meant now that I have went over the limit.
Same month I called Absa and was advised to apply for a restructure in order for me to be able to pay for the credit card. I did so but only received feedback after 6 weeks to be told that I cannot be assisted now I have to reapply in May.

Then Absa starts debiting over R5000 from my debit card to credit the credit card without my consent, I only earn +-R8000 this has left me broke and other debit orders bouncing, I have a car to pay for too from Absa which will obviously bounce because there are no funds in my account.

Besides all that how does Absa expect me to survive for the rest of the month, im a hardworking single mom who has been with Absa since the young age of 14, now im 25 and this is nothing but bad service on your part...typing this at 2am, heart broken

ABSA Bank recovering of car installment

I was out of work early last year and missed one, yes just one car installment of r3500 and some odd.

I started working successfully around my 2016, where i have since to date not fallen behind any of my car payments. I started to receive calls from a mr hendrik combrink who advised he is employed with absa.

To my horror, this individual was rude, obnoxious and not empathetic at all towards my situation, i advised him that i was unaware that even though i have not missed any car payments except for that one when i was unemployed, he showed no remorse whatsoever!

I received threatening phonecalls, on several occasions and when i tried to complain about this, to another manager at absa (Whose name i can get), he asked me in a sarcastic tone what was i complaining about, actually!

I have had a vehicle before with mfc and never, never have i ever received this kind of treatment. I am a single mum who is working hard to keep the assets i have. You have white males who use a threaten attitude to what, get people to pay?!

When i said i was not infrmed that your account is dependent on the number of days the account was in arrears, everyone just acted like i didn't just say that!

I am extremely unhappy wiht absa and disgusted that they hire such staff! I am in the hr space and i know how you treat people!

How i have been treated is just disgusting and distasteful to say the least!

ABSA Bank lack of customer service and assistance and fraud resolution

Appalled at ABSA to assist and resolve fraud on my credit card and not giving feedback as indicated. Spent almost 50 minutes on automatic hold last Thursday trying to report the fraud before finally speaking to customer services only to be put through and given the card sales number instead of fraud department number. Cant understand why ABSA did not phone like they normally do to check pre-authorisation for such a massive amount but in the past they called for far lesser amounts. So disappointed and shattered at ABSA. Tried following up this afternoon and the lady that answered the fraud call line said they couldnt call uo my case as they couldnt find it. She have me her namw and said she would call back in 45 minutes. Still waiting.

If Absa does not want to help me i can gladly move to a different bank. I applied for the credit card when i opened up a gold cheque account and will also gladly close that and move.

ABSA Bank rude bank manager at delmas

Went into Absa Delmas to release money from 32 day savings. Asked if I could receive money sooner and was told to speak to manager who happened to walk pass. I asked good morning can I ask you something and he replied yes.
He looked at my info on the computer and asked in a rude manner what I need the manner for. I told him and he answered very loudly, but you don't even bank at this bank (we live here in Delmas 5 years and have requested transfers before) So I said of course do I bank here. So how come my stuff is not transferred, and rudely he said I don't know and on his way back to his office he shouted back to his enquiry lady "just give it to her and transfer her account to Delmas" and off he went. I was so shocked in the manner he spoke to me I just turned around and said to the lady "he is a very rude man" Not once did he speak in a decent manner. I felt humiliated. Whether clients were there or not he is not an example for his staff or his clients. At this stage I don't know whether to find another bank or just not use Delmas branch again. And yes I want you to sent him for a "mense verhouding"course. He honestly needs one! Thanks Mrs HJ van Niekerk [protected]

ABSA Bank poor service

I went to absa bank loch logan yesterday (23/03/2017) to update my details (Not forgetting my busy work schedule) as I wanted to change my maiden surname to my marriage surname. I was not assisted as I was told that the system is down for all absa banks in bloemfontein. This morning I went again (24/03/2017), the systems are not working but I can't be assisted as I don't have a clothing account statement that is already in my new surname, even though I produced a proof of residence from my university proof of registration (This document has both my new surname and address). I don't think there will be a store that will change my details now and give a new statement without charges as I already received my march statements under my maiden surname. I honestly do not have time to be visit absa branched daily, my job schedule is very tight and I don't think my boss will understand the fact that I ask to go to the bank daily and stand in those ques. This is really unacceptable, why i'm I being punished for being married. I updated my details with capitec bank yesterday (23/03/2017) with no hassles at all. Please assist me as I don't have time for games and petrol to drive up & down visiting absa branched daily!

ABSA Bank customer service

Hello,

I was at ABSA Constantia Village this morning. I needed help with adjusting my bank limits so that I could transfer a large amount of money from my savings account to my cheque account. I know that I can do this through internet banking, but it was an emergency and therefore I went to the branch so that I know it would be done correctly and quickly.

The gentleman at the front desk (I cannot remember his name and he was also not wearing a name tag - he wears glasses and he's always at the enquiries desk) basically turned me away. I told him what I needed done and he told me that I can do all of this via my internet banking. I said to him that I had just stood in line for 15mins and now he's sending me home to do this on my own computer. He then told me I could use the computer in the bank if I really wanted to and then if I needed help I could ask one of the bank employees.
However, there was already people waiting in line to use the computer.

I said to him "So you just don't feel like doing your job today." And he said to me that it would be better for me to do the work myself. I just left feeling humiliated.

My nearest ABSA bank is the one in Plumstead, but I especially travel and additional 15mins to the Constantia branch because I always received better service from them. However, it seems that ABSA's service in general has gone to hell. And this isn't the first time I've been treated poorly. There was a huge situation with my student loan a few years ago.

I just feel like if I'm not a big celebrity with millions of rands then I mean nothing to ABSA which sucks because I've been a loyal ABSA banker since I was eight years old.

I am sorry to say, but I feel that I need to find another bank where I will actually be looked after.

ABSA Bank service at empangeni branch next to ford and game

I may not be familiar with the Absa service but its disappointing to have received excellent service in opening a transact account online and when I have to go to the branch and have the card issued to me I had to wait for over 40 minutes. People are coming and going while I wait. This is bad client service as I have not been informed why I am waiting so long just to be issued with the card. Truely disappointed will be leaving without this card my lunch hour has been wasted.
