I set up premium payments through my banks bill pay account but the payments were not correctly applied. I am being dunned for payments from 2009 that I thought had been cleared up last year. I called but was transferred 5 times then disconnected. I have the proof of payment and have sent it to them twice now. I guess I will wait for the collection agency to call and then get it cleared up. I will NOT pay them twice. Stay away from this company!

My friend had Secure Horizons and they drained his account of $100, 000. That they had access to auto pay for his mothers prescriptions. They saw that the mailing address for his mother was his home and used the excuse that they thought she lived with him and not a nursing home. They are ULTIMATE thieves!

I have been going thru the same nightmare..finally got it resolved, but I want to write to the CEO of the company & no one will give me a corporate headquarters address, I think it may be in Minnesota. Does anyone out there have this information? If so please e-mail me: jeanesimmons@sbcglobal.net

I am going through the same nightmare that you did. One of my payments in 2008 was not posted and they just can't get it. I have talked on the phone with incompetent people and have sent copies of my cancelled check twice and faxed it twice. Then today I received a letter from a collection agency. I am so frustrated. I don't have this plan anymore. I won't have to deal with this incompetence or maybe it is a scam if they have done it so often. Perhaps the government should look into it.

My mother has had good fortune with the Secure Horizons/ AARP Medicare complete plan since we initiated it. HOWEVER, the supplemental plan for dental, vision and hearing is an administrative and accounting black hole. In November of 2008, we phoned and qualified for the "Deluxe rider" which became effective 1 January 2009. We never received a payment/coupon book. We had to phone and request a payment book and that did not arrive until late February of 2009. From that point Mom paid faithfully until the end of 2009 while having dental work done. By the way, the dental coverage limit is $1000/year. It cost us over $4000 more to complete the dental work and that was with their "network dentist" contracted rates...NOT much of a savings in my opinion. NOW, here is the major complaint. For 2010 we did NOT receive a phone call, a letter, a renewal notice, a coupon book or any notice whatsoever extending the policy. NOR did we use the policy in 2010 for any service. As far as we knew, we were NOT covered.
Sometime in November 2010, Mom received a bill for $390. We phoned and complained explaining the above. Nevertheless, we received another invoice dated 4 January 2011 requesting $390.
On 16 January 2011, I faxed and then mailed a letter to Appeals and Grievance. Yesterday, we received a response from Ms Trujillo, at [protected] + another response from one of her underlings claiming that Mom owes the money because they have a " record" of sending a 2010 coupon book. THAT IS A LIE! If Mom had received a notice of any payment due, she would have phoned me just as she did in November 2010!
We are at this moment awaiting a call from Ms. Trujillo to resolve this issue. Has anyone else been stonewalled like this and how was it resolved? If so, please contact me at adwdeal@sbcglobal.net.
Thank you for your help, DW Deal

I am helping a friend with his problems with AARP. His doctor bills at his family doctor have not been paid since Oct.2009. I have talked to your company reps many times over the last few months and every time I get a different excuse. I have been communicating with the clinic for several months and they have been communicating with you. They are getting the same excuses as I am. They have several patients whose bills you are not paying. I am contacting as many people and clinics as I can to let them know that your company will not pay their bill and to find another insurance company. I have been in contact with my congressman and he is working on this. I have also been in contact with Medicare. They are also working on this. I also have an investigative reporting checking on this. You need to get this worked out, before you loose many customers. I am in the process of getting in touch with the state insurance commission to see if they can help.

Do not buy this insurance.. I have been helping a friend all summer to get his bill paid, AARP only gives the run around. Bills have not been paid since Oct 2009. The doctors and clinics are very disappointed with their service. You can call Medicare or your local congressman. I have done both. Maybe with enough complaints they will get rid of this company.

I agree. AARP Secure Horizons has the WORST accounting I've ever encountered. They either don't know what they are doing, or have discovered a very clever scam.

I agree. AARP Medicare Complete Secure Horizons has the WORST accounting I've ever encountered. Everytime I call them, they give us different account information. They honestly don't know what they are doing.
