Complete scam artists. I was making a local move with 7 furniture pieces but thought I would use a moving company since a couple of pieces were heavy. I was quoted a rate of $225 for the move, which I felt was reasonable and I accepted. I was told that if I wanted packing material, the charges would be extra, which made sense. Before unloading, I was provided a REVISED estimate of $750 !!! The difference was on account of (a) extra time taken to pack (they already knew what I needed to pack and I had been assured the entire move would take only 3 hours) (b) packing material (they wrapped layers on layers on everything, and when I said I did not need it, they said they must do it - I understand protection, but this was ridiculous!!! (c) some extra charge for delivery at 2 places (I was keeping some stuff in storage). Again, when I had made the reservation, no extra charge was ever informed to me.

I called the movers but the lady (Tina) did not even come to the phone. Her supervisor Marianne said she could not help me. the driver was very rude and said I must pay or he would keep my furniture.

THIS WAS A COMPLETE SCAM where they lowballed estimates and once my furniture was loaded, they extracted more money from me. Beware before moving!!

This company was a NIGHTMARE. We booked them a month in advance. We were told they would arrive on the move date at 10 am. At 8:30 am they were at our door. I was still in my nightgown, my husband was just waking up, we had to get a 5 year old off to school and had a baby crawling the apartment. We still had stuff in our dresser drawers, items on top of furniture that needed to be moved. We wanted to dismantle some of the furniture ourselves to try and save a little bit of money. We just bought a new house and were on a budget. My husband kindly asked them to come back at the time they were supposed to have arrived-- 10:00. We were not ready to "go on the clock"-- as they charge by the hour. He said "can you guys go get coffee or something and come back?" The guys said yes and NEVER CAME BACK. 11:30am we finally get the guy on his cell phone and he lies and tells us their truck is broken down on Route 80. He tells us to call someone named Juan. My husband calls "Juan" who can barely speak english and just keeps saying, "very big move, very big move." We assumed he meant he was on a big moving job? I don't know... then my husband is continually calling A Professional Movers and keeps getting put on hold and told they are going to resolve it. By around 3pm, we finally get a supervisor on the phone -- a really nasty lady who insists we "sent the movers away." We didn't mean PERMANENTLY! The driver told his boss we didn't want them to do the move. Meanwhile the driver told US his truck broke down. Our furniture was all disassembled and lined up in the hallway of our building. My 5 year old son had no bed to sleep in that night. We then get another supervisor on the phone-- a real nasty man who basically says no one is coming. Ok, fine you couldn't have told us that 8 HOURS AGO? We found a mover at the last minute who came the next day and moved us, very good, very professional, no hidden fees-- ZAB'S MOVERS. This company was an absolute horror show.

This just happened to myself. Pretty much the exact same thing happened and they extorted almost 2 grand. They even threatened to call the cops. What a joke.

I am filing suit with my lawyer. You should join me and put them out of business.
