Company repossessed vehicle 3 days after payment due. Refused to give information and demanded $1000.00 in cash to tell where vehicle located along with bank statements, 5 references, paycheck stubs, insurance information and registration. Company is loan shark. Company bought loan form another lender without consent. Company has been reported the State of California Attorney General, reported to The BBB, and suit filed in small claims court.

A-L financial repoed my car and I wasn't even a month late . They constantly called my work and my cell phone and everyone else I knew over 10 times a day! My car was sold at auction and they sent me a letter saying I had to pay the remainder balance or they were gonna seek judgment to garnish my wages! These people are ridiculous and loan sharks I think there needs to be a suit against them

Oh to the person who said try paying it in time. Well you know what, I've pai it all on time except twice because the people I worked for paid me a few days late. However my account manager at the time was nice an helped me. Since then I haven't paid late. My point is they call and harass you about car payments before it's due. They have no way for us to pay online or any easier way to pay online. I have to mail my sht in if not western u ion the money which is an extra $25. Sorry I work hard for my money I'm sure everyone does on here, so when I mail it it they tell me they didn't recieve it well that's not my problem but then they want to repossess my car now?!? When I mailed in my payment and they didn't recieve it?!? It takes more than one day to get there. You probably are the A-hole that works for them. I hope this company fall to sht one day. And so I have 2, 300 left but my payout is 2, 900?!? Oh nice doesn't sound right. And each month I get an extra 100 charge...still waiting on my damn statement of payments Olivia. the point is they try to repossess your car before payment is due or the day payment is due. One day they're gonna get bad karma and they will go through what we go through.

HONESTLLY I HATE THIS F'INGG COMPANY! I HOPE THEY ONE DAY GO THROUGH WHAT WE GO THROUGH. Yes, I should have read my contract carefully that was my fault. However before I signed my contract I asked them all the questions about it and they said Oh yes we'll help you blah blah blah. Im nearly done with my payment however my car is fe'd up up. Ive only been late maybe 2 times. And they keep wanting to repossess my car. does anyone check their statment after they pay it? it does go down. 100$ is added each time...so its like taking 4 step forward and 10 step back.thanks lesson learn never again after this bs with this BARELY SPEAKING ENGLISH ISHHH Olivia at Al-financial in fresno. hope that ISHH and all those pigs go through what we go through one day. so they can think back and be like damnnn this is how it feels like.

I too have a loan with them and again they act like i"m 3 months late and I was only 2 weeks late! They threatened to repossess my car if I didn't pay $167.00 which I was short on the payment . Unfortunately due to my credit situation with past bad decisions they are all who would finance my car so I'll just deal with it until I pay off my car.

ughhhh... I have this company. I just googled to see if they had a corporate office so I could complain to the about the Sacramento location... but looking at everyones comments I assume that will do no good. I have never been so disrespected in my life. This place is absurd and rude. Every comment I read is negative and everyone I come in contact with who uses them only has horrible things to say. This is crazy. How is this place in business? If anyone has the choice TURN BACK NOW! Totally not worth your time or anxiety!

A and L Company lied on having me personally served. Apparently they repo'd a car (bought by my ex-wife without my consent) years later I find out that I had been sued and a judgement awarded to A and L by Default. Judgement paper work was sent to wrong address and returned as noted on Docket. Fast forward to last weekend - On 8/28/14 Got a envelope by regular mail from A and L attorney with court summons order for examination. An OEX has to be personal service only and cannot be sub served(mail). Today 9/4/14 online court docket says "Proof of Service" "Personally served on 8/27/14" Well #1, I was out of town #2, they did not personally serve me. The whole thing is an outright lie. I am being advised by an attorney and have filed a motion to vacate. I will seek damages!
Lying on a court document will get you the entire case thrown out SMFUKR. Looked through 8 other court cases in that county and all are done the same way.

I and my daughter also feel the same way and we were put in this loan with no choice but if God could grant me anything in the world it would be to remove this company for the business world because people are already struggling and they are making it even harder to handle things in life. This company refuse to give me a copy of the front of my daughter's money order so that I can purchase my home and the reason was they don't have to. They didn't refuse because it would hurt their company the person in Long Beach told me they don't have to give me anything even though they new I needed to show my daughter pay her own payments and her name would be on their. I hate that the goverment isn't reviewing all these complaints because if they were then how are they still actively still running. This really amazes me.

I was late only once in may 2012. since then I've caught upeven paying late fees which were $200.. I send them for 460 in January and 230 in February. My car payment is only $270 and it's due on the 17th of each month. I was going to send them the car payment for this month and they repo it this morning. when I called they tried to say that I'm two payments behind even though I even have the receipts to show that I caught it up. when I called they said they have been calling me but I have got no calls my references didn't even get phone calls so obviously I didn't think it was going to be repoed.. now they are sayingg I have to pay 1000 dollars to get out of repo! this company sucks!

I have a contract with A-l financial and these people suck. My car was totaled in July and my insurance sent them a check for 11, 000. A-l financial said i had to pay the interest fees until the year 2015 so i owed 1500 more dollars. I told them to kiss my ###. I have no car n my job is 85 miles away. They harassed me and all my references so i sent them a letter from my lawyer that will seize all calls. Then they sued me. I had to pay 700 up front to not go to court and 300 a month until my account is paid in full. DONT GO WITH A-l Financial!

I have a loan with them as well, but I don't have any issues. I make my car my priority, so it's one of those things that has to be paid. I know sometimes there are circumstances that prevent people from paying their bills such as family illnesses or stuff, but at the end of the day, someone needs their money.

I will give them a neutral rating because their customer service does suck. I'm generally a nice guy and even asking for simple things like what's my balance left, I get a response like "You're not calculating this on your own?". I'm sorry, but your the bank, you own the car still, you have the payment schedule and the balance owed. Just tell me and stop being a ### about it lol.

I have no problems with them, but I did wish that they were nicer and actually had some terms of negotiations etc.

It's funny to see how all the complaints here are from people who have made late payments. Maybe if you all made your payments on time, you wouldn't have anything to complain about. Be responsible people, if you're going to get a car loan, make sure you're responsible and mature enough to pay it off in a timely manner.

These demons are crooks and they will get caught! for sure...did anyone experience this type of madness with AL financial?

A-L Financial Corp processed my check (cashed it) and continued sending me late bills and making threats. An investigator with Wells Fargo contacted A-L on my behalf to see what was going on and why they're claiming to not have received payment when in fact they cashed it. The woman in charge w/ A-L (the manager) aggressively apologized but then made it seem like my fault. TERRIBLE COMPANY! LOAN SHARKS! SCAMS! They need to be reported to the Attorney Generals Office and the BBB.
What's worst is I was close to paying off my loan and for some weird reason the amount I owed jumped $1000 on the next invoice. I contacted them and asked about it and a representative said they forgot to put other fees on it. This company needs to be investigated. Their scam!

I agree with you all, if I had known how they run their business, I would have never accepted the loan with them. They do act like loan sharks! As soon as I'm 2 days late, they start calling, threatening to repo the car. Then they start calling the references. I have sent in partial payments (no, I didn't ask them if I could) and Maria in Tucson said "We don't take partial payments" and "we need to set up a time to pick up your vehicle", I told her that I was only 2 weeks late, not even long enough to be reported to the credit bureau. I also told her that it sounded like she wanted the car worse than me, and if she wants, she can come and get it. Needless to say, I've made the payments, but I'm not in a hurry to be on time anymore, not with the way they act. As long as I'm not a month late, it's fine with me. I will never do business with them again and I advise anybody else to not do business with them. No matter how bad you want the vehicle. You might as well look up the mafia to borrow from.

We all know you work for A L financial why the [censor] else would you be on a random complaint board defending a loan company you [censor]s!
The fact of the matter is this company is known to repo quick on a clients to extort money, if the client cannot pay, A L now has the vehicle and whatever money the client has already paid. Thats why they repo so quickly. Any lawyer will have field day with this expecially those clients who claim harrassment. I encourage you to talk to your local attorney or if you are in california contact my office.

I have had an account with A L Financial, S.J. for the past three years. Thank God I am almost done paying. They are rude, ignorant and very unprofessional. I have had several account managers, one of whom was ok after I reported her attitude to her supervisor. Her name was Corrina and she was the best of the worst of that bunch. She is no longer there and now I have this account manager, Adrianna, who used to be the receptionist and now calls herself a manager. As soon as Corrina left Adrianna took over my account. Adrianna called me and said you are two months past due and we need a payment or we are going to take legal action. I had my car reposessed by them last year because if was over 20 days past due so why would I get myself in that perdicament again. I pulled out all my receipts (Western Union) and gave her payment dates and MTCN numbers. So today, she calls me back and says that she spoke to her supervisor and they figured out that because I had made several payments that were not full amounts, August payment had not rolled over. So I made the payment of 145.00 which now brings me current. When it was all settled I asked her why she didnt figure this out before calling, threatening me and then hanging up when I persisted in telling her that I couldnt be two months behind. She gave some lame excuse which I really didnt want to hear so I hung up on her as she had done to me. I love to see people advance, but she is not ready to be an accounts manager. That situation did not have to happen. I am almost done with this nightmare company and I will never, ever deal with them or recommend anyone to them. I paid 22, 000 for a used car with 35, 000 miles on it. The car at the time I got it would have been worth maybe 8 or 9000 dollars. The car dealer did tell me that if I can hold on to this car and pay it off I will be able to get financing through more reputable companies that dont put you through hell because you have bad credit and they are your last resort!

Sorry to hear about your plight, but face the facts: This company is giving you a chance to have a car even though you have crumby credit...why do you have crumby credit? because you don't pay your bills! So they knew you don't pay your bills when they gave you this loan. This is your chance to 1) have a car when no one else will finance you, and, 2) improve your credit if you make your payments on time. So stop crying about how they screwed you, they didn't screw you...YOU SCREWED YOURSELF ONCE AGAIN BY NOT PAYING WHAT YOU AGREED TO. Accept the fact that you have no one to blame but yourself and maybe that will help you grow so you'll stop this self destructive behavior in the future. Basically, if all finance companies, loan companies, lenders, were ALL like A&L and actually made you pay on time then maybe you would respect the loan more than you do. But people have become so lackadaisical because loan companies have let people off the hook with "Grace Periods" "Payment deferrals" or just plain "not paying for months on end", that people have gotten use to it and now ACTUALLY EXPECT THE FINANCE COMPANIES TO ALLOW IT! Well that's not how it is supposed to be, and that's not what you agreed to when you signed on the dotted line. You agreed to pay each and every payment on time by a certain date, PERIOD, end of story and without excuse, and if you can't do that on any loan then don't take the loan in the first place and if you don't hold to the terms, then definitely don't cry about your own screw up after and try and blame it on the finance company. Accept responsibility for your actions. Look at all the home foreclosures in the last 6 months: Was it the fault of the economy? was it the lenders faults? or was it the fault that people simply did not make there payments because they bit off more than they could chew? Yep, you got it, they bit off more than they could chew and couldn't make the pmts for whatever reason, but don't blame it on the economy, or their employer or anything else. If the House Lenders could come at 3am and repo the house, less people would fall behind on their home loan, but people know it is harder to take the house back so they get lazy and don't take the payment as serious and they say, well if I fall behind I'll just try and catch up next month, duh! don't fall behind in the first place! I don't work for A&L, I have a car financed by them, sure I have been divorced 3 times had a failed business due to the economy and I too could try and make a dozen excuses why my credit is bad, but the fact is I just didn't make the payments, so I won't make excuses, and if I don't make these payments on time then I'll get what I deserve. I am just thankful that A&L has given me this chance to redeem myself and start over.

FACTS:
1)If you don't make the payment on time, even 1 day late, they have the RIGHT to take the car back!
2)If they take the car back, they will resell it and collect what they can, and then SUE you for the rest plus fees and collection costs. So you won't have the car, AND they will garnish your back accounts or Paycheck to get the rest you owe! THATS THEIR RIGHT!
3)You will then have worse credit and will have t0 find another company to try and loan you money! Good luck...

SOLUTION:
1) Make the payments on time with THEM and all FUTURE LOANS and stop assuming you have the right to be late "for any reason" and you will develop good credit.

I was withA L Financial I payed every month in April I had sent a post dated check I was barely a month late when they repo my truck, thenin June one dayI got a letter for a court thing they said in the letter that they had handed us a letter before and it`s all lies.A week after I bought this truck the cops stopped me and told me that they stopped me because of the licence plate on the truck that within 4 mths this truck had 4 different owners, I do not have a car now and might probably end up going to court.I don`t know what to do, I feel these people took advantage of me.They sold the truck and now want me to pay over $5000. I am so dissappointed and mad.

I have been financing with A-L financial since Feb of 08 and still have 1.5 years left on my contract before the car is paid off, and I have yet to have problems with them, of course I always make my payments 10 days before the due date and have Never been late. So i guess it all boils down to paying your bills! When you sign a contract you make a commitment to pay a certain amount of money by a certain day of each month, if you don't pay on or before that day there are penalties. You shouldn't make a financial commitment that you know you cannot keep. I dont think this is so much A-L financials poor customer service as it is an attempt to protect their investments, after all they are a high risk lender ( meaning they give loans to people with poor credit) and give you a chance to redeem yourself so you should be thankful they even financed you in the first place, chances are no one else would finance you and A-L was the last stop! ( Truse me i know, because that was my situation)...Ever stop and think, hey If you pay for your car on the date that YOU singed for on your LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT ...your car would still be sitting in your garage. I even find it amusing the few people that said they threatened the Re-po people with bodily harm. ( most RE-PO companies do not work for the finance company but are contracted to do jobs for them) or maybe you thought, not making your payments and threatening the finance company would help you keep your car, tell me how did that work out? Read your contracts before signing them and pay your bills people!

Let's start by laying out some FACTS:
1: BEFORE you sign your contract, you should READ it! Most of the important conditions are on that single-page document, either on it's face or back. For a more detailed description of the law, you can review the California civil code (yes, it's on-line).
2: There is NO grace period; being even 1 day late puts you in DEFAULT of our contract and gives the lender additional special rights, such as the right of repossession. Another common event of default is the failure on the part of the buyer to maintain collision insurance. And, there are other events of default. Again, you should read your contract.
3: Don't assume the complainants on this forum (or other on-line forums for that matter) know the law. Do your homework. READ your contract.
Always keep in mind that the lender is providing you with a valuable service. Without them, you probably would not have been able to purchase the vehicle (banks and credit unions automatically reject any buyer without a strong credit profile). Also, if you pay on time, your credit score will probably increase.
Don't view the finance company as the villain. Use them to help your own situation.

well i bought a car from them maybe 10yrs ago. they reposessed it. tried to take me to court to get the car they already had back. i told them i dont have the car, i went outside one day and it was gone. assumed they had it since i was a lil late on the payment. here i am 10yrs 3 cars later and just found a bank garnishment from them. completely wiped out my account, rent is due, i have no gas in my current car to take my kid to school, and i get paid on the 15th direct deposit, they are really about to have me in a bind. it currently sat am and i cant call anyone until monday the 14th. arent they beyond the statue of limitations on this? I DONT HAVE THE CAR!

THEY TRIED THIS ONCE BEFORE AND HAD TO RETURN MY FUNDS BECAUSE I WAS A WELFARE RECIPIANT! THEY ARE AWFUL.

I totally agree with those that have complaints against AL Financial. I took a loan out with them 4 months ago, made $2, 000.00 down payment. Then come to find out my monthly payments were high at $400.00 a month. This was the first time ever I had a vehicle in my own name and thinking this would give me a chance to rebuild my credit. FORGET IT!

I was not able to pay for July's payment because I had to put my daughter through college. But I was able to pay for it the following payday. They called me 2 wks. ago, Myria or Maria harrassed me she told me I had this much to pay or else we would pick up the vehicle. Then she tells me to call her on a Saturday says she'll be there all day, of course, here I looking with no money. I called her back later in the afternoon on Saturday and yeah, they were closed for the weekend. So, I called later in the week, instead of working out the payments, what they did was repo'd the vehicle a day after I spoke with Myria, Maria (whatever her name is!). Get this! At 3:00am. In the ###-- morning.

I did not sign anything or was made aware that they were going to send someone out. Not only that, the auto dealer I dealt with ~ Hatch Motor Company in Show Low, Arizona. The transmission on the same vehicle goes out, which means the vehicle doesn't run anymore, but it starts, but what good is it, right! The salesperson says they have nothing to do with it or your warranty is probably expired.

I can't believe I just screwed! Thinking I'm finally getting somewhere in fixing my credit! This is CRAZY. And yes, I did file with BBB of Arizona.

I called this morning to see if I could get my payment deffered and the stupid rep started giving me a lecture on how important having a car is and how it should always be payed on time...blah..blah...blah. I told him the last thing I needed was a lecture and that the car was the last thing I would pay after I pay what's really important like rent and food for my kids. Anyways he tried saying the payment would be late after the 24 I told him I knew i had 10 days grace period, He immediately asked me "who told you that?" I had bought a car in feb.2009 and I put $4000 down in feb. so my payments started in March 09. This month July my payment was due the 9th and I couldn't pay it so I called the office in s.a. and they told me that they don't have grace periods and I have to pay it today. I told her I could pay it on Friday she said no and we are a high risk bank so they don't do grace periods and to defer it, I would have to have the loan at least a year and a half. That doesn't make any sense my loan is only for 18 months. I will never deal with a-l. Also, how do I find another bank to fiance my loan?

well i wish i knew about this also before buying a car but maybe we should also think of writing about the car dealerships that are doing business with this company a-l financial. then maybe no one will do business with them(dealerships) and they would drop this company from their list . then they would not be in business to do this to us as consumers. so start throwing the names out there of the dealers that got us in this contract in the first place. (john L sullivan chevrolet ) thanks for doing your research for such a great Financial institution you do business with HA HA .belive me i will not be sending anyone to this dealership!

Hi Guys, I unfortunately have a loan with them too, But luckily for me I've never been late because I know the kind of company I'm dealing with. Here's a word of advise, try refinancing your loan with a different bank, because a Mad collector in hunger of money will use any illegal trick of the book to get you to pay. I actually have been in this industry for over 9 years and this is how it works, by the end of the month every finance company needs to meet a certain percentage of delinquency meaning accounts not paid, obviously the lowest percentage the better. What do the collectors get when achieving the month's goal? ((((( A BIG FAT BONUS CHECK ))) That's right, it's all about the Money, so If you guys have any questions about laws, go head and leave a message and I will try to respond as fast as I can..

This company really does suck. I really wish I would of know about this company before getting my car loan. I live in the San Fernando Valley, CA and my ### of a rep REINA keeps calling just because I am a day late. When I dont answer my phone she sends letters stating there will be legal actions taken if I dont call her immediately about my account. When I do call her she tells me she never sends the letters out. "### stop lying" I really wish I could get out of my contract but I am still upsode down on my loan. About 6 more months before I even on my loan, then I am leaving this stupid ### company...

The next day she called me again telling me that she hasn't received my payment. HELLO! it doesn't take 1 day for the mail. Then she told me she was going to repo my car. Good luck ### its locked behind a gate. This company is a piece of ###. Trying to refi now as i write this.

Try being a repair shop that gets stuck with one of their cars. September of 2008, I had a customer bring in their car for repair. They were all gung ho when they dropped off the car to be fixed. But when they attempted to pick up the car, the customer attempted to pass a NSF Check for the $1136.00 in repairs, they stated they would go to the bank and bring cash. I was nice, understanding, and willing to work with the customer. Well a month and a half later, I received a call from A-L Financial in Santa Ana, CA, informing me that they were coming down the next morning to pay and pick up their car? Next morning I get a gentleman (?) who states he is there to pick up the car and wants to pay with a atm card (Illegal in California, cashier check or cash), while a second gentleman is sneaking around the property looking for the car. When it wasn't in plain sight, he too came in the office and they proceeded to tell me what they were going to do and what I was going to do? (Sound familiar). Well needless to say it is now June 2009, nine months later. I am now a co-defendant in a Breach of Contract lawsuit where they are suing the customer for $12, 000 and me for $10, 000 for convergence, loss of use, etc... To which all I did was fix a car and try to be a nice guy. California Law states that if the legal owner wants to retrieve their vehicle from a repair shop or tow yard, they are entitled to do so. However, after they pay the reasonable bill owed! Sounds simple huh? Well not when it comes to A-L Financial. We go to trial in September, almost one year to the date of repair. They talk about their loss of uses? What about mine (ours). Not only can I not remove anything I had to pay up front for to fix the car. I have to make sure no one damages it, or repos it. Otherwise I am out my money owed. And when I went to court today I was not the only A-L Financial case on the calendar. They should have their license revoked, and be made to stand in the middle of the freeway during rush hour traffic, dodging cars, as punishment for all the hoops we have to jump through just because we were sucked into their pit. I welcome a class action lawsuit and would be willing to be one of the Plaintiffs to gladly put this F Rated company by the Better Business Bureau out of Financial Pocket. Best of luck to all my fellow A-L Pigeons.
