I used to go to this mechanic when I lived in the area 15 years ago and stop in every once in awhile.
I was SHOCKED when it was discovered that I paid for calipers and rotors on my brakes (about 250.00) but only got brake pads (10.00) which resulted my car losing control on the interstate when the wheel locked up on the caliper - snapped the steel support bar in the frame and sent it sailing into my rear tire.
I was pulled into the medium and almost to on coming traffic from the other side of the interstate. Fate saved me from this early death - The auto shop had every chance to refund my cash and fix what they were paid to fix (but didn't)
I also checked the Mini Van I brought them recently for a small radiator. When returned the steering was broke and I couldn't steer (two broken tie rod ends!) and my new tires mysteriously were exchanged for two tire with bad belt threads - a closer look revealed that my drive shaft (differencial ) was swapped out for a junk yard part and now shifts with deep echoing clunks!
How can a business do such a evil deed . Three cars fixed and three cars un- driveable AFTER the "mechanic Dale" "FIXED" it
The receipts were unreadable and sloppy and didn't even reveal the customers name, car part/mileage, or a signiture from me!
They got cash (except for the last payment I canceled on my credit card ) The parts stolen will cost over $1000.00 to replace
I made a police report (fraud and theft), filed to the consumer protection, but I haven't yet got the money or my cars repaired
UNBELIVEABLE ! mark your parts on your cars prior to taking it into a mechanic ! take Pictures ! ...Its really sad it comes to this -
I'm just LUCKY TO BE ALIVE !
