We began building what we thought was an impressive stamp portfolio spending over $25, 700.00 first from American Classic Collectibles then they were bought by 21st Century Collectibles. Mr. Robert Reese, the man we dealt with, said he had a buyer if we would only buy this last set of stamps for $4, 700.00 (which we later learned that set was only worth $185.00) 21st Century Collectibles did offer to reimbuse the $4, 700.00 ONLY if we would send the stamps back first AND sign a waiver that we would not pursue any legal actions against them for the remaining money and we would not say anything negative about them to anyone. Like I said we spent over $25, 700.00 for a portfolio that has been appraised at $3, 000.00. We are looking for anyone who may have had any dealings with these companies and/or individuals. We have spoke with the US Secret Service, Postmaster General's Office (who has an investigation started), Federal Trade Commission, Las Vegas BBB, Nevada Attorney General's Bureau of Consumer Protection, and Consumer Affairs Division; we have mailed out close to 200 letters to the American Stamp Dealers Association and we are in the process of creating our own website. If you would like to join us in bringing these people to justice feel free to email us at dontbescammed AT

I have had the same experience with owner calling to apologize for Robert Reese in May of this past year. They promised to sell my whole collection with his tour of europe this pat spring and summer. He was going to sell my collection for 4 times the purchase price of approximately $33, 000. But here is the kicker it would worth so much more if I would buy one more stamp of $4, 000 that weas worth ten times its value. Its was a hard sell but I refused and told him if he was interested in my business he needed to sell my collection as he promised. That was the last I heard from him. If you check the BBB site they still give this 21st Century Collectibles a satisfactory rating eventhought the website is down and the phone only has a fax ring to it. I'm now in the process of having the collection appraised. I'm afraid I'm going to se sorely disappointed. I'm willing to offer any assistance. my e mail is

Ps. I also had dealing with the other cast of chacters you mentioned. They make used cars sales people look like Boy Scouts.

I too have been scammed by 21st Century Collectibles. I invested over $20, 000 and ended up with stamps worth less than $200. Now their phone number does not work and they seemed to have disappeared. Any help you can provide me would be appreciated. The people I dealt with at 21st century collectibles were Robert rease and owner Frank Sherman. I would like to see these people brought to justice. I also would like to file suits against these peole to get my money back. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

i bought stamps from mr. frank michaels at american classic collectibles (now out of business). i was contacted recently by mr robert reese of 21st century collectibles. his interest seemed only to be to sell me more stamps( to "leverage my collection"). i told him i would like to use his services to sell the stamp i have, and only that service. he became increasingly rude, claiming i was rude to him, then dismissed me with a hang-up. i would need to have the stamp appraised, but at this point, i wouldn't be surprised to find it of very little value if authentic, or a forgery. rebecca lindahl

I am searching for information on these people you are talking about on. My elderly father was scammed for $30, 000.00. The smooth talking man on the other end of the phone told him how fast he could make money at a high rate of return. He tried to send them back, and he convinced them to keep them wail he found a buyer. My father needs this money to live on, and I am finding that his stamps are not worth much. Let me know about any action taking place.
    Thank You

Try 60, 000.00 to these no good crooks. Started with a Jimmy Stuart in 2003 and graduated to the Mr. Reece you speak of. They are liars, crooks, and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. If you need to talk to to me 712-623-5400 and I can fill you in with details.

Frank Sherman is now calling as Philatelic USA. Same scam. Got our name from unreputable dealers. Can't sell unless you are a client. Must buy a stamp. I have the whole columbus set. Maybe in 50 years it will be worth what I paid.
