2005 Pontiac Grand am / Idol air control motor
Last year my wife and I purchased a 2005 Pontiac Grand am, which after the first year was an awesome car, great gas mileage & drove nice. That is until about 3 weeks ago when my wife was on her way to work the car suddenly took off on her and with her foot off the gas it would run 80MPH on its own. She almost got into a terrible accident that really had her scared and shook up. The only way she made it to work was to ride the brake to keep her speed down and to stop at a light she would have to put the car in neutral and would rev up as high as it could, by the time she got to work it was overheating. She then had a mechanic check it out and he told her it was the IDOL AIR CONTROL MOTOR, we got the part changed, which lasted two days and the car took off on her again, that was when she refused to ever drive it again for safety. I have always loved Pontiac cars and owned many of them but after this experience I may not get my wife to ever want another one and I don't blame her. I think this item should be looked into before someone does get killed.
