Cleveland Clinic - emergency room service

I feel that it is very important that before I submit this complaint that I share that Cleveland Clinic literally saved my life about two-and-a-half years ago. I have been undergoing treatment for atrial fibrillation stemming from pericarditis and have been hospitalized 16 times and with each hospitalization and medication I was getting worse until I got to Cleveland Clinic and was seen by dr. Desai. Dr. Desai worked with dr. Wilensky but unfortunately they are both gone. That team recognize that a combination of ibuprofen and colchicine would relieve my symptoms and they also help me taper off 60 mg of Prednisone this was actually causing me more harm than helping me. 2 days ago I ended up at the Cleveland Clinic Weston emergency room again because of pain in my chest and the resting heart rate that seemed like it was going over let my body could handle. When I arrived at the emergency room and they did an EKG my resting heart rate was 144. The problem is the emergency emergency staff seem to have all the right words because apparently Administration is trying to staff them on customer service and patient satisfaction. However, they drew my blood for different times and kept telling me the blood had hemolyzed and it was for a very special heart enzyme test to see if I had heart failure. The nurse whose name was Pasquale was screaming at the top of his lungs at the Medics were not coming to take my blood and he was going to have to do it himself. I could overhear him Fielding several calls and which he apologized for forgetting to do something for one or another of the patients who he was responsible for. He said that the lab had probably left the blood sitting around and that's why my blood had to be drawn the second time. The second time it was drawn one of the Medics came in in response to Pasquale screaming and was very rough taking my blood. However that one used a tube that was somehow defective and so the lab returned it and said that they could not use the blood. A third time someone else whose name I didn't know came in and took the blood again and said singe
The lab was understaffed but she would personally deliver it to the lab so it would not sit around and hemolyze . It did.
They returned a 4th time to draw blood for the same test claiming it hemolized again. At that point I asked to speak with the doctor who gave me a whole different reason than the nurse and the head nurse and the medic had given me for the blood hemolyzing. The 4th medic who took my blood said the lab is not understaffed but Better staffed than they are... that they draw the blood too quickly and should have used a butterfly needle instead. It seemed like everybody was covering for each other or was trying to cover their own behinds. I left feeling very anxious and like the Cleveland Clinic was no longer a safe place for me. It honestly felt and I observe the nursing staff flirting with each other and argue with each other and on the phone and picking at their hair with their fingers much more than taking care of patients. My husband and my son were very disappointed and frightened by that experience because they know how sick I have been in the past. I hope someone takes a look at this and teaches the ER staff about professionalism not just in word but In Deed. I make this complaint only because I want some Administration to see what's going on behind the scenes and to do whatever they can to restore the excellent reputation of this place. Being there and overhearing the staff s conversations felt more like i was in a happy hour at a bar or at a middle school after school program than in an ER.Thank you
