The president of this company apparently believes that customer service and communication is optional. They changed the design of our deck and some of the materials from that which was specified in our contract and did not consult us - didn't even inform us of the change. The building permit had to be resubmitted to fix their arbitrary design change, which caused a delay. They told us the deck would be completed in 2 weeks, but it actually dragged out to nearly 6 weeks. They do not have the size crew needed to deliver on the service they promise, and rather than inform the customer that they're not on schedule, they just don't call and don't return your calls.
Lesson learned from all of this: get referrals from past customers, do your research, and don't fall for the salesperson's pitch. They were extremely attentive right up until we had a signed contract.
