CitiMortgage funds held for repairs

I had damages to my home in March of this year. My insurance company issued checks to me in which the checks have to be endorced by me and sent to Citi Mortgage to issue as work is progressing. When Contractor is 1/3rd complete a check is to be mailed to us. It takes 2 to 3 weeks for this process. A Citi appointed inspector came and sent his report in saying the contractor was over 50% complete. So I have been calling every day for the past 2 weeks. I spoke with Kendra, (2 times)Mallory, Theo (2) times) Charles (2 times), Anna, Cathy (3 times), Steven, and Amari. They ALL say that they are reaching out to the exception team to expedite this process. Well this is the 10th day and still no call back, no check to present to my contractor to complete my job and my husband and myself remain homeless ( my insurance company is paying for housing) but I WANT TO GO HOME!. Everyone apologizes and ASSURES that they will call back. Still I call 2 times a day every day. Spoke with Mallory and she ASSURES that she keeps her promise and calls when she says she will... I will see...

CitiMortgage pmi scam

I've had my mortgage with Citi for 10 years. I was unaware I was sucked into PMI, after a lifetime of never being late on rent or mortgage. After making large principle-only payments, I brought the mortage down 1/3 in 8 years, and requested the PMI be removed. I was told to submit $400 for an appraisal along with written request which I did. 6 weeks later no word, so I called and they said the appraiser was unable to reach me. I received no calls or messages at home or on cell. 3 weeks later, still no response, so I requested my $400 back. They said "we never received any money or request from you" and I said "then WHY would you have allegedly sent an appraiser out?" They can't even lie well. Weeks later I received my $400 back with an unsigned letter saying "we're unable to accomodate your request because the appraiser cannot reach you". If YOU have had similar experiences with ANY of Citi's companies, including not being able to speak with anyone in the US about a problem, please post and share on any social media website!

We are still waiting for a Closing date. Since May. The GFE expired in mid October, and I used that to my advantage to re-negotiate the APR, however, they conveniently forgot to send out paperwork on a home equity line of credit I have, conveniently extending the time further. In the meantime, of course, they are raping me monthly at the same rate/payment, while I go without food except once a month.

I contacted Citibank and offered to send additional funds to meet the 80% loan to equity requirement even though by their calculations its now at 78.5%. Nothing I did or offered (spoke with Vicki Oxford in their St. Louis office executive team [protected] and verified) bypassed the requirement of a home appraisal with a cost of $385. I went through this a couple of years ago and the comps used were neither the same size of home or in my neighborhood, in fact miles away, and the values came in low. I do not fear a fair appraisal but why should I do it now in a market with rapidly rising values and I owe under the 80% of the original appraisal. And, the term left on the PMI is only $200 more than the appraisal (if it were done today!) What's clear is Citibank only allow you to wait until the "automatic" TERMINATION of the PMI to receive full payments of the PMI. It's a fee that they make a lot of money on, a little over $4800 so far from me on a $138, 000 loan.

Be glad you didn't pay for the appraisal. Mine came back with some BS estimate of $2500 decrease in value. Even though my LTV is at 68%, they are refusing to remove the PMI simply because the home depreciated in value. An agent on the phone said as long as I meet the LTV requirement, they would remove it but they need that appraisal first. You're right, it is a total scam and they freaking lie. I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Bureau and realise that this is really only for documentation in lieu of an eventual lawsuit. I will cost them more money to fight me in court than what they get from me in insurance money, that will make me happy.

CitiMortgage loan modification

I am not going to tell the same story as everyone on here. Just sent letters off to the attorney generals office in florida. Sent documentation to ftc in washington, also to the ftc in florida.

Long and short of it is this
1) unethical truth in lending practices
2) Notary Fraud ...they took first document I signed and had notarized that got me into the HAMP program and switched notarized page to new loan modification paper work. they doubled my payments
3) They back dated documents HA I kept very good notes on times and dates and the person I was speaking with while they were taking my automatic payments every month for the original documents. I saved my western union grams every month.
(side bar the recorded conversations by law cannot be destroyed )

I have a foreclosure attorney & now have an attorney to handle class action suit on a contingency basis but I need a few others to get the ball rolling ...Sorry this is for florida residents only
Again there is no out of pocket expense to you to see if you fit into the class action of deceptive trade practices that seem common place by all the reviews on here.

If you would like to take part in this class action please contact
James at [protected]@yahoo.com
Please we all are in need of help and I am sharing this with all of you so you know how to get some answers from our elected government officials.
I will not stop fighting this cruel and just criminal actions by Citimortgage.
I am for real just google Palm Beach post from Friday Feb 10, 2012

OMG. What do we need to do? I have been trying to get a modification for 3 years with citi mortgage. I was not late when I started talking to them about my hardship. I had a perfect credit score and they would not refinance, because I was underwater. Finally, I defaulted but kept mailing smaller amount. They were taking them, and leading me to believe that I could qualify for HARP or any other program available. My 1st assigned specialist sends a list of all the documents I needed to provide. I did. Thinking that everything has gone through I waited, until I got another letter telling me that I had another specialist and to call and schedule an appointment. I lost all that time. To make a long painful story shorter, I went through more than 6 specialists in the past three years. I finally decided to buy the bullet and hired an attorney. I wasted $ 4000. The attorneys's Paralegals could not get to Citi either. Another year went by, the opened and closed my file within that year four times. The attorney took my case himself and did everything I have been doing with the difference that he called every day, he asked for someone else to review my file and 6 months later I got a letter denying me. It took 3 years for them to send a letter denying my application for a Modification. The explanation was that the bank is securing my mortgage is M & T and it does not participate in any of the programs available, and I got denied because I had insufficient income funds. No kidding. The only program they have is a repayment plan. I had to come up with $35000 to put down and then my payments will include the interest accrued, the penalties, attorneys’ fees and the principal. I asked how much would that be. They have not given me an answer of the amount of my debt with them yet. I thought about it, and I decided to give it a try I took a second job showing an increase in my income and I rented the second floor of my house. The representative took my new numbers calculated the monthly fee and he said you don't qualified for this program either. Now, he is asking me to lie in a letter saying that I don't want to keep my home and that I have refused all the retention options that they have given me. In order to qualify to do a short sale, I have to provide them this letter as part of all the documents that they are asking from me again. However, he said my best option is the deed in lieu of foreclosure because they will give me some reallocation money. I need help.

My husband and I both work for the State of MD. In July I was advised that my hours would be cut from 40 to 35. My husband would receive a salary reduction and we both would have to take unpaid furlough days. I contacted CitiMortgage to see if we could refinance our second mortgage at a lower rate. I was advised that we qualified for a modification and was given a trial period of 3 months to pay. We paid October and November but we were still getting calls from CitiMortgage asking for our payment. We would tell them that we were going through a modification, they would check and then tell us to disregard. Finally, we received a delinquent notice saying we had not paid 2 months. I called and after being on the phone a total of 2 hours and also being hung up on once, I asked to speak to a manager. She told me that we never really qualified for the loan mod and that we had to pay back what we were behind. We have not paid what we were behind and do not intend to. To make matters worse, she told me that because it was an error that she would take it off the credit report(she gave me a cof#) and that she would apply the 2 payments to one month and waive any late fees(another conf#). Well, not a chance. We are receiving letters advising that they will not take it off of our creit report and they are not even acknowledging that it was their error to begin with. It is sad that they get the bailout help and turn around and laugh at heir customers with the government turning a blind eye. Sad. My husband and I have decided that it is just a house. If we lose it, so be it. It is not worth the stress !

I applied for a Loan Modification through CitiMortgage in May 2009. The new lower (TRIAL) loan amount was deducted from my checking account the 1st of each month. I receive a letter on December 15, 2009 stating that I was declined the modification because I make too much money. I then find out that CitiMortgage never notified me to revert the payments starting in September to the original loan amount. The "partial payments" they were receiving were never posted to my account and I was reported as being past due to the credit bureaus. My credit score was 798 when I applied for the modification. It is now 635. All because CitiMortgage never notified me that there was even a problem.
The sad thing is if I refinance there is no assurance that the lender won't sell my mortgage back to there idiots.

we have been in "negotiation" with Citimortgage for 13 months over a loan modification. They have changed the Loan officer four times, make it impossible to have our attorney speak with them, and have ruined our credit. My advice is to file a complaint with the office of the comptroller of the currency. If the OCC receives enough complaints they may act on it. I am wondering why no one has launched a class action law suit. They received the biggest amount of bailout money it is time for them to pay up!

after a year of double talk and sending citimortgage paperwork over and over again...they now submited to the credit bureau that I was behind on payments...they then agreed it was in error...but the damage has been done...credit cards companies started cancelling my cards...I have never been even late on any payments...furthermore...they did NOT pay my taxes or my insurance and I had to come up with the money on my own...I am in much worse position due to citimortgages errors ...I want to know how to sue them or be a part of class action

I started the process of my loan modification at the end of October 2009 many letters and phone calls later, 9 months to be exact. I found out that they would only reduce my mortgage 7 dollars. That's right SEVEN DOLLARS. If i would have known that they were just going to waste my time i would have just walked away from my condo as many people who live here have already. This is one big game. After that the Representative said that they are trying to do a traditional modification. Lets see how long that takes.

I was approved for loan modification July, 2009; due to, my mother's medical condtions. For seven months all my payments were made on time; however, December, 2009, I was no longer approved. Due to my expenses. I had good credit and when I was no longer approved, I had to pay back money from July-December-2009 and January-2010 payments; which, total of $3, 169.00. I didn't have all the money and it was reported to my credit. Because of Citimortgage approving me for this modification and later denial me and telling me to pay all the money that was waived from July 2009, has put me in a worst financial situation. CitiMortgage should want to help their customers;instead, they act if they want us to lose our home. Due to this loan modfication, people have lost their homes.

January 2010, I applied for a loan modification. I signed a contract, from CitiMortgage, that stated it would take 90 days and I would have a new trial mortgage payment. I was reassured I qualified for teh program. After submitting all required documents and making my payments on the day I was required for 90 days, I heard nothing. On month 4, April 2010, I made my payment and was told everything was OK. That they were overwhelmed, but I was in final review. May 2010, nothing yet. Paid on time. This time I was quizzed my the girl why I in the program and told some forms had expired and I needed to resubmit. I did immediately and was told I should hear soon. June 2010, made my payment, but no progress. A phrase that I hear every time I call was "you are in the final stages of review." July 2010, made my payment with "you are in final stages of review." July 26, 2010, I receive a much anticipated letter from CitiMortgage, but this letter pushes me to the brink of suicide. It claimed I was behind 2 months mortgage and could possibly be moved into pre-foreclosure.

I call the number on the phone, but get nothing; just a full mailbox. The next day I get through, I get sent to my "counselor." I was told on July 19 I was denied the federal loan modification and on July 21 my account was sent to collections. During the conversation, the girl advised my account was moved to the companies loan modification and I should hear something within the next 30 days. I still, to this day in October, have never received notice why I was turned down, per the contract I signed. My mortgage payment was raised $800, pre loan modification. They added escrow without my permission.

The following week, the next person I get a call from was collections. "Sell your house then sir, we want our $11, 000 dollars. Don't you want to stay in your house, then we need that money.""You are no longer in a loan modifcation." So I call back my "counselor". Her voicemail stated she was in training for 30 days and would not be checking her voicemail. Her supervisor had the same message. Now began the weekly calls for months in regards to people that I never spoken to twice. I finally had someone tell me I was in the process for a company loan modification, but it would now take 60 days; the end of September, 2010 (9 months if you're keeping track). I finally had to contact a loan modification company to help me. That is $3300 out of my pocket. I pay my September mortgage on time, but technically I'm still two months behind.

October 1st. CitiMortgage collections calls like clock work, we're becoming friends now. But as for customer service, that's a different story. Citimortgage left a message for me to call, "Mr. F#####, please call me (no name left) back at 866-###-####. Thank you." I called and no had any idea who called me or why. A few days later, the service I paid for calls me and says a woman named Shirley (CitiMortgage will never let me talk to her) says she needs my 2009 taxes, which they have! So after 2 hours of trying to reach Shirley and getting denied, I'm finally told they want every piece of tax return I can send. I faxed 82 pages of Turbo Tax crap. It took 3 days to verify someone received it. I was eventually told it was received, but now Cory was my counselor. they even gave me his direct number. Well Cory doesn't have voicemail. The number given just rings and rings... It occassionally had a busy signal, but still nothing.

This time I get a new manager at customer service who even gives me her employee ID number. She tells me that I have a diferent counselor. She says she is sympathetic to my problem and doesn't understand what the hold up is. Several e-mails were sent to Cory and my new counselor and doesn't understand why no one has called me back. This manager promised she would call me back within a few hours to see if she got anywhere. Three days later I'm still waiting, but my friend the collections agent called and promised to help me if I could at least pay my late fee of $1700, even though technically I have never been late and this isn't my fault, though CitiMortgage doesn't see it that way.

I don't know where else to turn or where to go. Why do these companies assume I just have $11K just laying around when they lied and put me in this position in the first place. I have never felt so lost and such a loser. I have thought several times of pulling the trigger and ending it all. Maybe my wife could use the life insurance money to pay for teh house, but then I stopped myself. Not because the fear of death, the fear that my term-life insurance is with Primerica, a company by Citi, which owns CitiMortage, which means my wife and kids wouldn't get a dime.

I have reached out to an attorney, not a loan mod attorney..a real attorney, because I do not know what else to do. Throughout this process I have been told foreclosure proceedings would be postponed while in the modification process, then I receive a notice of foreclosure. On the notice it says a representative contacted me 6/7/2010, that is a bold faced lie. I EMMEDIATELY tried make a payment and they would not accept it. I was then told there would be no sale date while in the loan mod process, and I now have a sale date, and they still will not accept a payment. I have been told for 3 months now my loan is “locked” and its Citi’s error and they are working to fix it. I asked if it’s not fixed by the sale date then I lose my home and they said YES. I then went into the branch for help and was told to try another modification program, so I did but only to learn that I NEVER qualified to BEGIN WITH for the original loan mod program. I have been lied to, hung up on, I have been given hoop after hoop to jump through and I have jumped. Citimortgage has without a doubt FAILED to make any attempt what so ever to help me avoid foreclosure. Funny thing is, my home has value. Maybe it is in the best interest of Citi to foreclose. I wonder how many homeowners they have foreclosed on while in the modification process, I wonder how many of them had value in their homes. My aunt is experiencing a run around as well. Her husband having lung cancer is not a hardship according to Citi…their home has value.

I intend to pursue this to the full extent of my power and the law.

My message to an attorney
Your Message:
I have been in the loan modification process for 8 months with Citimortgage. I have jumped through hoop after hoop and have been told lie after lie only to find out last night that I didn’t qualify for the loan mod I was in. My sale date is Dec 20 and I now have to start the loan mod process under a new program. My gut tells me that it is in CitiMortgage's best interest TO foreclose, my house has value. I am not upside down. I have been in the mortgage industry for over 10 years so when my company crashed in 2007 I have spent the last 3 years trying to hang on to my home and just hang on. I am working now with Wells Fargo, and have pleaded with them only to hear "this is the thing". I have been hung up on, I have been thrown back into the call que...it's endless. I would truly like to see how many homes they have foreclosed on where the circumstances where similar to mine, where the homeowner was just given the run around until it was too late, I bet their homes had value as well.

Also sent to attorney:
Your Message:
I would also like to add my aunt is also going through the modification process with Citi. for about 8 months as well. She has made her payments but has occasionally been late. She was laid off a little over a year ago, then last year her husband was diagnosed with lung cancer and had to retire early and all that information was in the hardship letter to Citi. My aunt was declined, Citi said she did not have enough hardship...my aunts home has value as well.

I told the lady I spoke to today in the Loss Midigation department, I will nail a letter to the wall of my house telling the story of how Citimortgage screwed right above my cold dead body. My husband calls me at work every hour to make sure I havent offed myself.

If you have applied for a modification with Citimortgage be aware when they turn you down after faxing and mailing bundles of information over and over they will require you to pay in full all back payments due to paying the modification amount that they instruction you to do. I called twice a week for a year the end result no modification and I had to take money from my retirement account to catch up my house payment. They did not care that my husband had a brain bleed and I lost my job do to a buy out by a French company. There collections department is in a the Philippines you can refuse to speak to them and ask for someone from the US.

CitiMortgage harp re-fi

After a seemingly hopeful start it became obvious that Citi mort just doesnt want to help my refinance efforts. I was trying to have my home refinanced to a lower rate under the HARP program. My rate right now is 5.75%- I was hoping to get something at least close to present rates. I have a loan to value within 2%... I have a credit score of 820 and a job with the same employer almost 10 years, although its in the construction field so I'm somewhat under employed and made only $29+k last year.
They offered me a rate of 4.75%, much higher than todays going rates. Because of this high rate I couldnt qualify given my current income ( which wouldnt even be an issue under this HARP program except that because the new loan would raise my payment about $100 a month and this brings my income into the picture, thus the denial of the re-fi) I asked them to please lower this rate just enough so I could qualify, and they refuse! ###- I hope they go out of business, oh thats right, their too big to fail! Now that they've been paid tax payer money for our mortgages...

CitiMortgage lost payment/mortgage fraud

Citimortgage is charging us hundreds of dollars in delinquency charges for our January mortgage payment. This is not the first time they have done this to us. We did indeed make the payment and we have all the necessary confirming documentation. I have a copy of the check that they cashed along with their bank stamp and our bank statement as proof. This was all given to them and they claim that they still have no idea where the payment is. They have done nothing to credit us and still claim that we did not pay and are one month behind so their fees keep going up! We always pay a little extra each month and I am assuming this is their way to cover their losses for our overage with respect to principal balance. We have not missed a payment but this company keeps giving us the run around. Every phone number they give us as the contacting department states that they are not the ones who handle lost payments and they subsequently redirect us! I literally spend hours on the phone only to end up back at square one. This is a nightmare! If this does not get taken care of, I have compiled a list of errors that have cost us hundreds of dollars in bogus charges and intend on contacting the FBI mortgage fraud department.

CitiMortgage escrow

I have been duped out of $4, 824. . .CitiMortgage put me into a forced placed policy causing a great hardship for myself and my disabled husband. . .I have filed a formal grievance with the Connecticut Attorney General, Connecticut Banking Commissioner, Senator Joseph Lieberman, Connecticut Insurance Commissioner, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro and the OOP of CitiMortgage.. . .to date CitiMortgage has not made any adjustment on my escrow account. . .in fact they said it was because I canceled my auto and umbrella part of my insurance and was not eligible for the discount. . .A fee of $86.00 was never paid so Insurance company, BANKERS STANDARD, aka, ACE dropped me. Of course CitiM gets a minimum of 15% of the $4, 824. . .AMERICAN SECURITIES. . . They claim I was notified?! . . .Right I would let my policy lapse and sleep at night for $86.00? . . .THEY HAVE INSULTED MY INTELLIGENCE FOR THE LAST TIME. . .I AM GOING TO THE MEDIA!

ANYONE WHO READS THIS AND HAS A PROBLEM WITH CITIMORTGAGE GO TO www.LoanSafeForum.org . . .THERE ARE PEOPLE THERE WHO REALLY CARE AND KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. . .GOD BLESS!

CitiMortgage unethical business practices

We applied for a mortgage modification based on the fact that we were told we had a good chance of getting one. We were paying taxes and insurance on our own. They escrowed out taxes without notifying us causing us to have to pay an additional $700+ per month on top of our regular tax amount so now we had to pay more each month while we went through the process. They constantly asked for paperwork and we never got to speak to anyone in underwriting, just to different people all the time who provided different answers. Additionally, our mortgage was sold and when I confronted them about it, they initially denied it until I provided supporting documentation, then they apologized. This was a horrible experience. I find these banks to be extremely lax and unethical and certainly not trying to help, when they claim they are. While we never even got to try a modification trial, if there is every a law suit against them for unethical business behavior, count us in.

CitiMortgage harrasing phone calls

I haved been receiving multiple harrassing phone calls about a mortgage payment that is not even past due. I asked the caller to stop the phone calls but he said I would have to give him payment first. I had at least 9 calls within the last 3 days.
Citimortgage had terrorized me in the past, including telling me I was in foreclosure and they were unable to take my payments (of course I wasn't). It took hours of being passed to one person to another. You are unable to talk to anyone other than phone solicitors. I am trying to find out how I can be included in a class action suit against Citmortgage.

You don't mention if they're calling a cell phone or land line. The good thing about cell phones is you can set it so that calls from certain numbers have a silent ringer...that way you'll never even know they're calling :)
Citi used to call me about my student loans literally the day after payment was due if they hadn't received it. Even if your mortgage payment isn't technically past due (as in no late fees have been assessed), most banks consider it late starting on the 2nd of the month.
But if your payments genuinely aren't late, just stop answering the phone and save yourself some grief :)

CitiMortgage loan modification late fee

I was offered a loan modification that would lower my payment, while doing this they put my payment in a hold status then sent the money into a escrow account. Without my knowledge or permission. When I got the next bill it showed I missed a payment and added a late fee, along with letters and phone calls. My first call today, they informed me I had to prove the check was cashed. When I called back the person I got did not need this and passed on about the escrow account and could not change it. I was then passed to another clerk and got the same thing, but did pass me on a blind call to the escrow section, where I was iinformed there was no account. After being passed again I got some woo knew their job and cleared it up in 15mins. That’s after being on the PH for almost 2 ½ HRS. when I asked for a manager or director they said there were none. When I asked for a number of someone to call one number went to a FAX and the other a line not in use. Planning to file a complante with the Illinois attorney general's office.

CitiMortgage waived fees

Have an mtg loan where i am the account manager for the loan. The january payment was missed our very first late payment ever. Called and spoke with two managers from the mortgage area. Who indicated that could not waive the $23.00 late fee unless my ceo called in since he is the legal borrower but i am listed on as the account manger. Citimtg thinks that waiving a late fee is changing the mortgage and requires my ceo to call and request the reversal.

Get over it citi its not a change in the mortgage and your just ripping people off again with nickel and diming you clients with stupid fees and ridiculous reason for not waiving a late fee on a mtg payment.

What a bunch of low lives to hold hostage waivers in today economy. I am going to eat this fee but will let other know not to do business with citi because they are fee mongrels

You missed the payment, why shouldn't you pay the late fee? Doesn't matter if it's the first or one of many, you still owe the late fee. Next time make your payment on time.

CitiMortgage they took our money to keep their business going and these jobs

My daughter had a car accident and as a result i was late on my payment to this institution. I could not pay on line as the process shut me out. Then the number I called for assistance was in India or Pakistan, they kept telling me the date was the 14th., this is the 13th in the USA and when I finally got this threw to them they said they, had the wrong calendar. They also asked for too much personal information about me and when I tried to talk to someone and complain I just get the same number for the foreign office. This is wrong as they took our money to keep their business going and these jobs, they created with our money, are out of the USA. This should be brought to the Democrats as they say they are creating new jobs.

CitiMortgage no reason, no explanation, just misinformation that they have acquired that is completely changing my life

I have been trying to get a modification on my home for two years! I have worked with HUD agencies and was SCAMMED by an attorney's group who said they worked directly with Citimortgage. My trial modification was accepted in Sept. 09 and I have made nine months of payments on a 3 month trial. When I call to check the status, one employee tells me it is in underwriting, and the next person tells me I'm going "straight to foreclosure!" Managers promise to return my call within 48 hours and I get no call. I send and resend documents that I have already submitted and then they have the audacity to be down right rude! Karen had my income at $28.00 a month, and when I politely corrected her she said, "Mam, if you're going to act like this then I'm going to put you on hold and if you get disconnected it's your problem. BE MY GUEST!" The same woman said "this home is too big for you and your two kids anyway!" So, I guess asking the lender you are wanting to work with pertinent questions is a no no. I am fed up with this company. After nine months of payments and have not received one denial letter regarding a modification, Citimortgage's attorneys sent me a notice to foreclose. No reason, no explanation, just misinformation that they have acquired that is completely changing my life. No one really cares. If only one person had a conscience.

CitiMortgage unfair number of days to withhold payment

They will not release my escrow funds totaling almost $3, 000 even though this mortgage was paid off by a BANK CHECK that was sent on April 1, they said they did not received it until April 12, when the other bank received their check on April 2. That being said, they now tell me I have to wait 30 days. Why any check clears within 3 days. I will tell you why, it's another way of making money. Mine three grand along with others allows them to make interest on money. to keep the money this long is robbery! I am so glad to be done with this bank and am now with my local branc bank.

I paid off my mortgage on October 20, 2014. Citi sent my escrow refund check to an address in a city I have never lived at. After 54 min. on their "customer" service line to people who could barley speak English I finally got to leave a voice mail for the fraud department. The address was changed while I was driving across Kansas by who? They are looking into it. There is a menu choice on the fraud hotline for problems with fraudulent escrow checks but it sends you right back to the non English speaking customer service idiots who can do nothing for your issue. With the menu choice on the hotline something must be up with the escrow system being hacked or something. I would never ever uses this company for anything again.

CitiMortgage changing tearms of contract

Citimortgage is the most dishonest company.
Between February and April of 2011, I refinanced my home loan with Aimloan.com. The amount of the loan is $140, 000 at a fixed interest rate of 3.65%. My home was appraised at $850, 000.

An issue of flood insurance was discussed. The requirement as stated in the contract is:

At minimum flood insurance purchased must cover the lowest of (1) the outstanding principle balance of the loan”

It was agreed that enough to cover $140, 000 would be sufficient for my loan. In fact, I told them “if it was not adequate I would not take out the loan, because what is the point of refinancing if I have to pay more in the long run?” They agreed to the coverage of $140, 000 was sufficient. The loan was funded and executed.

Without my knowledge or consent Aimloan sold my loan to Citi Mortgage. Now, Citi has changed the terms of the agreement. They have increased my flood insurance. The amount went from $140, 000 to $250, 000. I objected. Citi then took the payment for the extra insurance from my escrow account.
Aimloan had lied about the amount of insurance I needed in order to get the fees for refinancing. Aimloan understood if we did not agree to the amount of flood insurance I would not have refinanced and AIMloan would receive nothing.

I phoned Citi and spoke to Naranya. We discussed the insurance and I was told Citi has the same criteria for flood insurance as AIM. However she could not explain why Citi wanted to raise my limit. She them told me there is noting I can do. To make matters worse Cit will not let me cancel my escrow account even thought it was made clear at the time of contracting I would be able to if I choose.

I contacted AIMloan .com and spoke with Katherine McFarland, her contact information is below.

Katherine McFarland
[protected]
[protected]@aimloan.com

She confirmed that Citi had the same flood insurance criteria as AIMloan. She could not understand why Citi wanted the increase. She also confirmed that I had the right to cancel my escrow at will.

Discussion:

Citi only does this to single woman

As I am sure you are aware if I do not pay the extra money, my credit will be ruined. They could even foreclose on my house It has gotten so bad Citi has increased my monthly payments.

It is my understanding of current law, contract terms can not be changed after the contract has been signed, unless both parties agree. If a contract is sold the buyer takes the contract “subject” to the terms of the contract as it was agreed to at the time the contract was signed. .as I tried to explain Citi has no right to buy my contract and them change the terms. They should have never bought my contract.

Conclusion
I would like to keep the terms of the contract as agreed between the parties when entered into.

Flood Insurance nightmare! Citimortgage has raised our flood insurance as well. They created an escrow account and now hold our payments in an escrow account as well. Calls every day telling me they want the additional payment. I told them as soon as they refund my account to me I will make the payment. After reading these comments it sounds like I need to get a lawyer.
Last year we tried to refinance due to high rate of interest on this building. After 3 months of harassing I said enough. They called our insurance agent and insisted he rewrite policies and send me the bill. They requested not only statements from our checking account but flagged deposits and wanted me to go back to the source of the money and provide check stubs. In the end they turned us down. Why make S10, 000.00 in interest a year when you can may $20, 000.00. Yet they send out special delivery letters to reapply. These people need to go down. I would not keep a nickel of my money in that bank!

Well, coming from someone with a long term Real Estate background...Something here is misunderstood. when a lender sells your loan to another lender the terms do not change in anyway, whatsoever... And about your escrow account...you are only able to close an escrow account AFTER you have paid 20% so usually 5ish years into your term. (based on a 30yr note) The only way i see that your monthly payment would go up is if you had an 80/20 loan or some other subprime scamish loan they were giving at the time. which mean yes your rate was fixed..but only for a period of time. But subprime went away a few yrs back, so idk what u got urself into! then its adjustable! So in conclusion...Refinancing your home in this ecomomy= huge mistake! Especially from AIMLOAN.COM! ask yourself these questions: Who are they? Where did I find them? What kind of scam were they selling that you bought into? Not too smart to Refi a house worth 850K for a measly 140K you just signed away your property worth a ton on a 140k loan...BIG MISTAKES ALL AROUND! Pull out your closing docs from the loan from AIMLOAN.com and review, then ask CITI to send you what they have and compare...then use some of the 140K u borrowed and hire a real estate attorney! good luck!

CitiMortgage false advertising

CitiMortgage does not really care about Disabled Veterans. They like to grab the favorable headlines on their “Pseudo-Disabled Veteran Program”. Yet, if it does not benefit Citi, the Disabled Veterans can take a hike. I am 100% Disabled Veteran with an FHA loan. Guess what? I am not able to receive any assistance. Further, unless I stop paying my mortgage, CitiMortgage will not help me. My income dropped way down when I became 100% disabled. I found out that CitiMortgage will only negotiate with me from a position of power. That position would be for me to stop paying my Mortgage, thus providing them leverage over me. Yes, it is true I volunteered to serve my Country. Yes, I knew the risks going into the service. I knew I could be disabled or killed. What bothers me is the “False Advertising and Flag Waving” used by CitiMortgage. Nevertheless, I know that because of my disabilities, I will eventually lose my home.
Next, I don’t understand why Citi won’t do some preventive foreclosure deals with the Current Mortgage Holders who need or will need it. They received UNPRECEDENTED TARP FUNDS. I know they paid them back. The bottom line is that they received the assistance in the first place. But for the actions of greedy corporations and individuals, the Country would not be in this mess. On one hand, you have Executives bleeding Corporations dry with all of their “stock options”…on the other you have Bankers trying to make a fortune out of sub-prime mortgages. They helped create the mess and stood in line to get a “hand-out” to help get them get out of it. I know I am all-over the place on this issue, however, there is a take home message for Citi…..Have a heart. Citi was saved, now it is time for Citi to step up and start reducing Mortgages that are underwater. Start “really” helping those out who need it. In the end, you will still have made a profit….more importantly; you will have helped this Country get back on track for future prosperity.

CitiMortgage insurance

We had a hailstorm come through and Assurant sent Citimortgage a check for our barn and outbuildings that aren't even part of our mortgage. Try getting that resolved between these two idiots. Assurant examiner won't return my calls and live people you get to talk too are just trained to calm you down and not actually DO anything to resolve the problem. Citi is slower than molasses. They have absolutely NO right at all to this check and there is NO reason they can't reissue it correctly.

My mother had an accidental death policy with Assurant Specialty Property to cover her mortgage with Wells Fargo. I sent my mother's death certificate to Wells Fargo and the insurance was never taken off her mortgage payment and it continued to be added to the mortgage payment long after mom had died of natural causes. I finally was able to reach Assurant Specialty Property in Miami, FL on the phone, told them I wanted to be reimbursed and was told I had to send my mother's death certificate, the Letter of Administration from the judge appointing me to act as personal representative of my mother's estate, a letter, and my phone number/s so they could reach me. I did everything requested of me and also included in the letter my only request was that their refund check be made out to me so I could cash it. (I was the one making the payments since her death and our joint bank account wouldn't cash her checks anymore because she had died the year before.) After not hearing from them for a while I phoned. I was told maybe the check was sent to Wells Fargo. Then I was told it was processed and I would be receiving it shortly (or something to that effect.) When I received the check it was made out to my dead mother. I called them. They said they couldn't make it out to me, that it was against their policy. The bank won't cash it. I knew they wouldn't. So I'm stuck with a worthless check.
What do you do with a company like that? i notice there's a lot of complaints about them.

CitiMortgage refinance abuse!

Following much tribulation, documents, more documents and then more documents, citi mortgage declined my application for a refinance and I am a current citi mortgage customer.

However, it did not stop them from charging my credit card, without my authorization, which they're now refusing to refund.

Unless I am refunded the monies, I will short pay my final mortgage payment and let them come after me. Good luck with that!

CitiMortgage escrow payments

I pay my escrow shortage every single year. Last JULY, 2010, my mortgage payment started to creep up slowly...July 2010, then more August, more September. My escrow analysis is performed the 3rd week of August every year. My payment should never have gone up until 10/1/10. I sent 2 checks in September 30, 2010. One was an escrow shortage and the other was a spread overage to keep my payments down. Instead of going down, my payments went up. I spent weeks on the phone with a manager and they finally corrected everything, then February someone triggered another escrow analysis. They said my taxes and homeowner's insurance went up. I told them they go up every year and I already sent in 2 checks to pay that. Then in February of 2011 my payment went way up again. I sent in a check for almost $500.00 and that would keep my payments where they had been before the new increase until September, 2011. Th manager that had been helping me has been on vacation so another manager did a so called investigation and said my payments should never have gone down even though I had sent them over $1100.00. I told them it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what is going on here and that I am called the NJ attorney general's office and also my attorney. The manager tat had helped me before is returning from vacation tomorrow (7/5/11) and if he does not fix this freak'n mess I am moving farther up the line. I started with Principal Financial and never had a problem until CITIMORTGAGE took over.

CitiMortgage customer service

My husband is currently deployed and we are purchasing our second home. Our first home, which we still own, is financed through citimortgage.in order for me to close on my second home, while my husband is still deployed, we must show proof of payment history with citimortgage because citimortgage has not reported any payments for the past 3 years to the credit reporting agencies. When I tried to resolve this citimortgage refuses to accept my general power of attorney to act on my husband's behalf.

I don't know if I will be in breech of contract now under my new home and/or if I will lose this house. Va requires the payment history directly from citimortgage. Citimortgage refused to even mail this statement to the address on file.

As I told them, my first priority when my husband returns next month, after closing of the second home, is refinancing our first home and replacing citimortgage once and for all!

I've got a 30 year mortgage with Citimortgage, and I've called customer service once, that was today. I wanted to request to have my payment date changed because all of my bills are due at pretty much the same time. Well the answer was no but that's not the complaint.

The man, who I could barely understand because he didn't barely spoke English, persisted in trying to sell me a CREDIT CARD! I'm calling to change a payment date, and I have to deal with what amounts to a telemarketing ploy.

Not only would he not take no for an answer, he read his script in response to everything I said, I couldn't understand him, and I had to hang up the phone on him because he just wouldn't accept that my answer was no.

That is LOUSY customer service, if that's what you can even call it. It seems that since companies have to deal with do no call lists, they try to reel you in when you're only calling for help. This is a disgrace and terrible business practice. I'm a good customer and this is how good customers are treated by Citibank I suppose.

Thanks for nothing. I won't likely be calling "Customer Service" again.
