Chrysler Shifter is dangerous and not one available to repair, they say a nationwide backlog

The shifter began jumping out of gear about october, 2020... When I would put in park getting out it had moved back to drive and I had to quickly get back in and put back in park. There had been an earlier re call, took to dealer ship and they supposedly fixed whatever problem was. At time of recall I did not have any problems. As time wore on I began to have shifter problems. The light on shifter began to go off and on and it getting out of shift became more frequent... Took to dealership in southaven ms... Service mgr said there had no complaints... My research showed different... He said they would have to replace place but back order... This was in november. It is now january, 21 and I am still driving and the shifter is still on back order, according to landers jeep they know when they will be able to replace with corp saying that 357 shifters so far are on back order... That is all that they would do... This situation is not only dangerous but scary... Chrysler continues to shove under the rug issues with the shifter and doesn't seem to care about customers who need more than just lies and blank stares.

Chrysler 2019 dodge challenger

In the summer of 2020 I bought a brand new 2019dodge challenger scat pack. Purchased from spartanburg sc chrysler dodge jeep ram dealership. I took my car to the dealership on 10/22/20 for a oil change, tire rotation and to repair a fog light that had become detached. Service tech found that the water pump was extremely noisy, found water pump bearings failing. Replaced water pump and refilled coolant. The car had 12, 440 miles on it that day. My wife followed me there to leave it. I decided to stay. My wife came by to see if the car had been serviced. She parked beside my car. Someone in the service department had parked my car. I met my wife outside. I looked around my car to make sure there were no scratches, etc... When I got to the front of the car I saw that the front spoiler was resting on the curb. I got advisor, brian grumbles to come out and see where the front spoiler was cracked from it being parked and hitting the curb. Brian said he would order a new one and call me when it came in. I took his word. There was no incident report did. Shortly thereafter I via email received a survey followup. I described what happen, got a second survey-same thing. No more contact from who ever sent the surveys nor a call from the dealership. Keep in mind this damage to my brand new car happened 10/22/20. I have called the dealership, always sent to service managers voicemail. No return calls. I bought this car 9/27/19 it had 15 miles on it. Second week of january 2021i called this phone #[protected]. The lady placed me on hold and called the dealership, she also had to leave a voicemail asking him to call me. 3 days later my wife called the 1-800 # again due to my having to work. Another lady called the dealership as I was on hold, she returned to me and said she left a voicemail. Said if I had not gotten a call in the next 1 day to call the dealership. My wife called the dealership on 1/12/20 the receptionst said she would connect me with his voicemail. I told her no because he had not retured any of the voicemails concerning me. She remembered my name from the previous day that 1-800 # called. She said she was writing everything down and would give to I believe she said his name was john, dont quote me on the name. Said if he didnt call in 1 hour to call back. I didnt call back, becoming very unprofessial dealership associate. Today, 1/13/20 my wife called the 1-800# once again and once again had to explain the whole situation. The lady she spoke with put her on hold and called the dealership and again she was sent to voicemail. The time is now 5:51 pm. I have still not gotten a call. About a month before I bought my car, my wife bought at the same dealership a 2018 dodge charger scatpack. In total we have spent about $70, 000 on our cars. The 1-800 lady my wife spoke with this morning-1/13/20 said to her and I quote, its your word against the dealership. I have no idea who the [protected] belongs to since thats the phone number that the dealership gave me when I called wanting the corporate head quarters contact #. This is totally unacceptable... I want my bent/scratched front end bottom spoiler replaced with a brand new one. This situation should not have gotten to this point, ie... Lenght of time elasped with no communiaction from all my attemps to resolve this. I dont want to have to go any further with this unresolved issue. If I or my wife are not contacted by the end of this month-january, 21 I will have my attorney to pursue this. I am a customer that upheld his agreement in buying these 2 cars. I am not nor should I have to continue this back and forth. My phone # is [protected]. My wife is [protected]. My name is alvis carter owner of the challenger, she is, judy carter owner of the charger.
Thank you,
Alvis d carter. My email addy is [protected]@gmail.com

Desired outcome: brand new spoiler

Chrysler Service of my air ride suspension system

I took a trip from southern Indiana to Minneapolis for Thanksgiving. During that trip a notification appeared on my dash that my suspension system needed service. When I returned home on 12/7/2020 I made an appointment with The Expressway Chrysler dealer in Evansville, IN for the next day. They kept the car for four hours and said I would have to bring it back in two days as I would need a new module for my car. They put an invoice together and told me I would have to pre-pay the total cost of the module and diagnostic fee. I asked what the total cost would be and was told $386. I agreed to pay it, but then they told me I could pay it when my car was repaired in two days. I asked if they knew the module would work. They told me they had taken a module out of a new car to test it on mine and it worked. I asked why they couldn't leave that in my car and put the replacement in the new car. They said a customer was picking that car up that afternoon. When I came back, they kept the car for four more hours and I asked about it. They told me it was out on a test drive and it would be back shortly. Two hours later they told me they needed to recharge my system with nitrogen which they were out of. They needed to keep it overnight. I needed some things out of the car so they took me back to get them. What I saw appalled me. The car was practically dis-assembled. I further found out that they never took a module from a new car two days earlier, they never took it for a test drive, and for the most part had no idea how to fix it. I also asked them that morning if $386 was a good price. They said it was. This morning I called Justin with service and told him I would not be leaving the car there over the weekend. With the lies I had already been told, their assurance that my car would be safe over the weekend would not be believed. I have purchased four new cars from that dealer over the prior twelve years and always received good service. But they moved into a new bldg and have a lot more clerical personnel. You can't get a straight answer from anyone and they contradict each other's stories. Now I just want my car put back in the condition it was in when I brought it in. It was running fine except for that message on the dash screen that said I needed service for my suspension system. Now it is a mess. I live an hour away from the dealer and am going back to pick it up and turn in the loaner they gave me. If they won't give me back the car I guess I'll have to get an attorney and try to get it back. My wife and I are in our late 70's and have only one car. I have no idea yet how we'll handle that. Hopefully, they can put the car back in drivable condition so we can have it. I have never been treated so poorly by a car dealer. The sales office is good and tried to help me yesterday. But the sales office and the service department are located in different buildings a couple of blocks away from each other. They don't seem to communicate much with each other. The car has 60, 000+ mil;es and we were getting ready to trade it in, but for sure it won't be with this dealer.

I apologize. I thought this was going to the dealer so maybe I could get back my vehicle. This is just a generic complaint site. I doubt anything will happen that will help me. But thanks.

Chrysler Warped door panels

We purchased our chrysler 300s 2014 new. Love the car but having numerous problems with our door panels warping, warping big time. This has to be a product defect, so why is there no recall on this problem? I noticed there is a class action lawsuit pending but I would prefer if you admitted to the problem and did a recall. Everyone who sees our car loves it but then always asks what is the problem with the door panel? How do I tell them it is a major problem and chrysler doesn't want to admit it. Please help. I plan on keeping this car my lifetime of driving as my husband just died last month and I cannot afford another car. I have the full bumper to bumper warranty from mopar on this - will you allow them to take care of the problem under the warranty because they won't now. Please help. I am a senior citizen and since my husband died last month and I am not receiving his social security or pension, my funds are limited.

Leased a 2017 300 AWD and had extended warranty but now I'm getting billed $767 by leasing bank for replacing the warped door because MOPAR extended warranty calls it a 'cosmetic' issue...I will never buy/lease another Chrysler- FCA vehicle and this was my 4th.

Chrysler Maintenance issues with 2014 grand cherokee

Since purchasing the 2014 Grand Cherokee there have been 70 incidents of repairs or recalls, many of which have lead to unsafe vehicle conditions and forcing us to rent a vehicle to work or do our regular life functions. The most recent repairs took over a month to have the work done and roughly 20 hours of work was done to the vehicle. The car was returned three times to the dealership beginning 10/8/2020 and ending 11/13/20 for this round with another service to be scheduled as soon as the backordered parts are received. Since 10/8/20 we have rented vehicles to allow us to work and have transportation, all at our cost. To date this has amounted to nearly $1500.00. The vehicle was towed in to be service after the initial visit and again returned the third time the service was supposedly completed. Our extended warranty did cover the rental till June but it now is not covering the excessive rental expenses.

Chrysler Spare tire not included in 2020 model.

Purchased Chrysler Pacifica 2020 ( owed older version for 3.5 years). Was driving on the highway with my family of 6 when my tire went flat with the huge hole ( nor reparable) . Luckily we were able to pull over on the side and wanted to replace it with the spare, however, I found out its not included in my car, it was only pump and the glue, Really ? ! I started to read manual where is mentioned that spare tire included ( if equipped ) or tire service kit ( if equipped ) . Having previous model with a spare tire, it was not even a question that the newer model would have it. Here am I, in the middle of highway with entire family, temperature outside 100 F, late evening, weekend, most of tire shops are closed .. the nearest one was 17 miles away, where I have to pay tow truck to take me there + police car to transport part on my family because we would not fit all in tow truck .. Called Chrysler customer service to complain about not including spare tire, but they said it's optional and I must pay for it. I don't think this should be an optional, spare tire should be as a standard package. What if this situation happens somewhere in the dessert of AZ, or any other place with no cell phone service … THEN WHAT ? Chrysler, this is a safety issues which should never be an option! I hope you see my COMPLAIN and do something about it!

Chrysler 2011 dodge dakota laramie 4.7lv8

Bought this truck about 5 years ago from a local dealer with 28000 miles on it. The previous owner bought it new. 5 years later it only has 84000 miles on it. I have kept all of my service record for it including every 3000 mile oil change. Have always treated it like a baby and bragged about it. About 3 weeks ago it developed a knock in the engine and power seemed"off". Brought it to a local dealer and was told it is a lower engine knock and that I needed my engine replaced. Called dodge to inquire if they would do anything about it and was told that there was nothing they could do. Not a thing! It is a shame that dodge will not stand by their product to even make it to 1000, 000 miles. Very discouraged with them! Don't buy a dodge!

Chrysler 2009 jeep liberty

Chrysler refuses to honor lifetime warranty, they admit the jeep has been well maintained. My warranty was cancelled because they claim it wasn't in for the 5 year power train inspection. Every time the dealership said something needed to be done we did it. We were informed the the warranty was in limbo, we were to call back in two or three days. When we called back we were told it was cancelled. Both times we were told records showed the jeep was well maintained. Each time we took it in for an oil change they did a vehicle inspection.

Chrysler Star dodge abilene texas service department

Poor customer service. Will take your money and will not fix your car right. They make all these excuses and failed to keep my car over night or at least a couple of days to see about the problem. They claim they do not have loaner cars. Imagine That a place that sells cars can not spare a loaner car. I paid them $1500 to fix my air conditioner and I had to take it back two more times. Still not fixed. The service manager is rude and useless.

Chrysler Service department at premier dodge in new orleans la.

We bought a Dodge Promaster Van from Premier Dodge last year. Called service department at Premier Dodge early last week and told them that I had received a Recall notice on the shifter cable and needed to make appointment to have it repaired. I told them my name was Mike Perronne for the appointment. They told me to come in today 6/9/2020 at approximately 8:00 am to have it repaired. When I got there this morning at the allotted time they told me they did not have the repair kit in stock and acted like I didn't have a appointment. When I got back home I decided to try and call the Service Manager to talk about this incident. The phone rang about 8 - 10 times then someone picked it up and just hung it back up. I guess they saw my name on the phone and did not want to deal with it.

Chrysler 2018 Dodge Ram

I have 7700 miles on my truck and my drivers side window clips keep breaking. 3 times in the past couple months I have spent time sitting in the dealership while they fix the issue. These clips that are chrysler manufactured are the issue. I am wondering how many more times will I need to spend my time to repair this same issue. As I drive down the street I can hear cracking sounds from within that window, which tells me they are garbage replacement parts.

Chrysler Customer service and leaky sunroof on 2016 Jeep Patriot

We bought a used 2016 Jeep Patriot at Riverside Auto Sales in Escanaba, MI on May 5, 2018. Noticed roof leaked and brought it to May 30, 2019. Dealership could not find leak. August 1, 2019 brought Jeep to dealer again with leak. Found leak and charged $69. One August 5, 2019, brought Jeep back to dealership because now the open/close button on sunroof wouldn't close tightly. We were told it would cost $1730 to replace. I wrote a negative review on dealer's website. He offered us a deal to replace it for $425 if I took down negative comments on website AND MY OWN FACEBOOK ACCOUNT. I did. . We did that. Now, February 2020, roof is still leaking. What would you suggest?

Chrysler customer service department

On Thursday January 16 th 2020, I dropped my 2018 Jeep Rubicon off at Provincial Chrysler and put my keys in the dropbox for a 7 AM appointment the following day. The wiring on the front right blinker needed to be repaired. At noon on the 17th I called Provincial Chrysler and asked how the repairs were coming. I was informed they had just started looking at my jeep. At 2 PM I received a phone call from the service desk informing me that because these were not the original lights and they had to sodder the wires that were corroded, there would be a charge of $119. I just purchased this jeep six months ago through the Motor City dealership . I was unaware the lights were not the originals, and when I dropped the keys off I checked the box on the envelope that stated they would call me before any work was done if there was going to be a charge. Because the jeep is only a year and a half old I totally thought this would be under warranty. They proceeded to fix the jeep without my consent and then insisted I pay the bill. I was informed that I would not be able to take my Jeep off their property unless I paid the bill. I was very upset at this unexpected expense and explained how I felt to the service person. She spoke to her service manager whose name was Joe who reduced the labour cost reducing the bill to $75. I still think this was not the proper way to go about fixing this. I felt I should've been informed before any work was done that I was going to be charged for, as I had checked off the box that nothing was to be done if there was going to be a cost. I'm very disturbed by this incident and would very much like the matter looked into.
Today is February 14th and the RIGHT blinker is out AGAIN! If the service people at Provincial Chrysler had fixed this problem properly I can see no reason why this would happen again. I would like this problem to be taken care of once and for all and not have to go through all the hassle I previously went through with this dealership. I feel there should be no cost with fixing this blinker problem as I've already paid for it to be fixed!

Please advise as to the steps I should be taking. Looking forward to your prompt reply.

Sincerely,

Jen Gallant

Chrysler new car sales and owed promise

Hello, long story short we bought a new 2019 Dodge Charger GT on November 10, 2019. The only way they could close the deal with us was to promise us (which we have in writing) was to put racing stripes on the new car. They told us to come back in about 2 weeks and the stripes would be put on and also the car would be detailed cause it was dirty from sitting on the lot, also there were dings in the door that need paint touch up and sap in the roof of the car that they were supposed to buff out. Not acceptable for a new car but I trusted them because this was the second car I bought from them. Well after multiple calls to them and getting the run around from one person to the next. The salesman told me to get an estimate on the price of putting the stripes on and let him know and he would summit it to his supervisor. I made an appointment and my wife took time off of work to go get the car looked at and got an estimate. We contacted the salesman and he said he would send it over to his supervisor. His supervisor said no, they could get it done cheaper with their third party person. Ok but it has now been over 3 months and no contact, when I call they send me to voicemail and never call back. I have tried to get the DM to call me, no response. I have filed a complaint with BBB and they have investigated and have tried to get contact with the dealership. The dealership did not even respond to their letter so the BBB put a call into the dealership and still no response. What kind of business practice is this? I have spent 40, 000 at this dealership and this is the way they treat their customers. I will be including the paper that was given to me at signing stating that they owe us racing stripes. It should not take 3 months to try to find a 3rd party person to put the stripes on when I was able to find someone that could have had it done within the week. Actually the company that we found also does this work for another local Dodge dealer. I am not reaching out to Chrysler I hopes that you will hold this dealership accountable for their lack of customer ethics. This is unacceptable to be treated this way and I expect to receive what is owed to me. I can be reached at [protected] or email [protected]@ymail.com. Thank you for your time and I look forward to a response.

Chrysler lakeland chrysler, dodge, jeep ram lakeland florida - sales problem

Lakeland CDJR

I recently purchased a new 2020 Jeep Wrangler JLU and love it. Unfortunately I purchased from Lakeland Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

A Lakeland Chrysler desk Manager agreed to my offer including Dealer doc fees.

When the Salesperson returned to complete the paperwork we noticed they had added an additional $1, 000. In dealer documentation fees to the agreed price. A second Manager returned and once again agreed to our original offer.

We completed the paperwork in the finance office and finally left the dealership at 10:00PM on a Saturday.

I looked over the paperwork on the following Monday to find they had hidden the additional $1, 000. Back in at the finance office. Shame on me for not catching them cheating me a second time!

Over the past couple of weeks, I have reached out to the General Manager of this dealership 14 times by phone, email and in person to calmly discuss the situation with absolutely no reply!

Save yourselves some real regret and do business with a more reputable dealer.

Chrysler limited 2500 ram

I will try to explain this from my prospective. I had been looking for a 2019 Ram, Limited, 2 WD, 8 ft bed. I had talked to Jim about a year ago. I will admit I got caught up in the employee discount when I purchased this truck. I purchased the 2019, 2500 Ram truck after a year of research. I was excited about all the new changes that Ram had made. I planned on this being the last truck I would buy. I have purchased several dodges over the years, a 1975 ½ ton Dodge, 1992 ¾ ton Dodge, 2003 1-ton Dodge, 2006 1-ton Dodge and this 2019 ¾ ton truck. I had looked at the towing capacity of 19, 780 pounds and the pictures on the website showing the truck towing a large fifth wheel. It never occurred to me that the payload of the Limited trim level, Cummins motor, 4-wheel drive and the gooseneck hitch in the bed would have a light payload.in the owner's manual it states not to load the truck over the payload sticker in the door. The sticker on the door states the payload is 1, 960 pounds. This was when I became aware of the light payload of this truck. I have been on the Ram website since then and noticed the payload of the Limited, 2 WD, 8 ft bed has increased 340 Lbs payload in 2020 and the 4 WD has decreased another 130 lbs this year. If you carry 4 adults at 200 pounds each, 31 gallons of fuel at 210 pounds, DEF at 50 pounds, engine oil at 21 pounds, and your fifth wheel hitch at 100 pounds the total weight of these items is equal to 1, 181 pounds of payload. That leaves 779 pounds of weight for payload weight of your 5th wheel. I couldn't find any fifth wheel camping trailers that has that small of king pin weight. I own a fifth wheel trailer with a king pin weight of 1, 925 pounds. It appears that the average pin wheel weight is 1, 500 pounds. This means that this truck does not come close to handling my trailer. I feel that Ram is responsible for not acknowledging the combination of the diesel motor, Limited trim package, 4 x4 and the gooseneck hitch is not for hauling a heavy load. Your ad stating it tows more than any other competitor in the 2500 range is misleading.
In the end, I ended up trading in the 2500 less than six weeks after purchasing it because it would not tow what I owned which was similar to the trailer depicted in the on-line ad. Neither Jim or Marcus did not know this or disclose this limitation even though I had discussed the purpose of the truck. I had spoken with several different dealers over the year of researching and it was not mentioned. I paid $70, 337 for the original Limited truck, then five weeks later we were allowed a $61, 000 towards the purchase of a Laramie 3500 with the addition of $4, 451 in cash. The second truck is a down grade from the Limited, but it was a reasonable option.in the end I was out of pocket $77, 422 for the RAM 3500 Laramie which list price was $74, 590. All prices were based on the employee discount.
I had talked with Marcus on the deal on the 3500 Ram that we traded for. I felt we started out communicating well. He had located a truck which appeared to have the options I wanted. He sent me the options list and I compared it to the Limited option list I have. I did not think about the Trim Levels being so much different. But there it is.
I had questioned the pictures Marcus sent me of the interior of the truck, they were not clear, so I asked him some questions.
I questioned the #1 foam on the bucket seats in the Laramie and he assure me it was the same seat as the Limited. This is the major complaint I have. The seats are very firm and does not support my lower back. I have back pains when driving this truck and I am not sure at this time if I will be able to ride in it for long distances which was the reason to trade this year. Plans to travel.
Both the cabin wind and road noise are louder in the Laramie.
I asked if the Laramie has the same center console in it as the Limited has? He said it did. They are different.
I questioned the trim that is located around the 12" monitor on the dash and on the sides of the console. Something looked off in the picture. He said it was black and when I picked up the truck it is gold.
The seats are certainly different. I would consider replacing the seats with Limited seats if they would fit, match and not break the bank.
With these differences and all the money that has been spent I am disappointed. This has left a bad feeling about the way Ram and the dealer network handles it buyers.
From a personal note the dealer should always make the buyer aware of the different there are when suggesting down grading to lower Trim line. It is more than the option list differences.
It appears for me to get the Limited trim line in another truck at this time would cost me another $20, 000.00. Since this is out of my ability to pay or willingness to put into another truck so I will have to settle for what I have.
I had expressed my disappointment when I picked up the truck from Jim. I felt I had made a deal and a man should honor his agreement.
Jim was good to work with and help in many ways. It's just the out come was not what I was looking for. I will copy Marcus on this email so he will be aware.
A campaign ad showing what the payload capacity is or at least educating the salesperson so that they may be able to suggest the correct product for your customer's application would be a great help to customers like me.
Thank you for the opportunity to share my experience and opinion. I have enjoyed the RAM trucks I have owned over the years, but this experience has definitely been an expensive and bad one. It will influence my future research and purchases.
Sincerely,
Gene Williams & family

Chrysler seat warmer, leather seat burn hole in seat nearly a fire

2005 Jeep Liberty Limited V6 4X4. only 131, 00 miles
Leather seat warmer, driver side. While driving, suddenly the seat became way too HOT. Had to stop and and get out and turned off heat warmer switch. Smoked and nearly caught on fire!
I would have thought that a fuse in the system would have blown before this happened? Is this a problem with this vehicle or others?
