Chrysler 2014 dodge caravan

My Caravan was stuck in 3rd gear for about 5 miles. As I continued to drive it stuck in 2nd gear. I took it to the shop where I just paid for a rebuilt transmission. The Mechanic ran tests on the vehicle and said its either the solenoid body, the wiring, or the computer. He said they performed a shake test on the wiring and everything looked fine. He said that I need to pull over and shut the car off when it revs in 3rd or 2nd gear and the computer should reset itself to allow me to drive the vehicle as intended. He said when the vehicle stays in 2nd or 3rd gear after restarting then they can look at it to see what may be the cause / error code. He said this is a safety that Chrysler put on the vehicle when there is a problem. This all sounds good except that I transport individuals with disabilities to and from their work place. I cant believe this is how I'm supposed to drive them until the computer sends the correct error code to the problem with the vehicle. He said I could replace the wiring, the computer, and the solenoid body which is a lot of money when we don't know which is causing the problem since the computer resets each time the vehicle is shut off. What is the solution. This is unacceptable, there has to be a better way to diagnose the problem. Furthermore the individuals that I serve dont understand why we have to keep pulling over, turning the vehicle off and back on again. They do have to be at their destination so this also hinders them in a timely manner.

Chrysler service department

I called to book a service appointment because the clasp for the front passenger side seat belt is defective. I stressed that I wanted this repaired as soon as possible because it is a safety issue. I also asked that the recall work for the passenger air bag be done at the same time because I had been told several times before that they did not have the parts for this.

Even though I stressed the urgency of having the seat belt locking device fixed, I was not able to get an appointment until one week later. The service department employee stressed that this was to ensure that all the parts would be available.

I dropped my vehicle off at 9 am today. They called me at approximately 11:15 to inform me that the warranty work had been done and that I needed the part(s) to fix the seat belt. I asked why they didn't order the part at the same time as the other parts. I was told that they do not do diagnostic work over the phone. I was also told that it would cost me $182 for the part plus about 1/2 hour labour at $100+ per hour.

THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I did not schedule a diagnostic appointment. I told them what I wanted fixed. Maybe I should have waited until someone got hurt so that a safety recall could be issued on all 2011 Jeep Patriots. I could then have had it repaired for free.

I am very upset with the lack of concern for my passengers safety, the waste of my time, and the ridiculous amount of money that this will cost me for a part that probably costs Mopar about $40.

Please respond to me by email at Sylvia.[protected]@hotmail.com.

Thank you for your time.

Chrysler 2016 town and country touring

Most of the Uconnect updates Comm via satellite and it updates automatically. Now Uconnect is having an issue that you have to actually go to the store purchase a flash drive download it to your computer and download it to your car. I'm not able to do this. I've contacted Uconnect eight times. And I've had our County IT person try to get the update on a flash drive and it is impossible. It just does not work. The other option I was given from Uconnect is the care my van to my local Chrysler dealer and pay $100 to have it updated. That is ridiculous. Chrysler should pay for that to be done and not charge the client due to errors on Chrysler/Uconnect problems

Chrysler service department/star issue not resolved

Seems I cannot resolve a service issue for my 2016 jeep renegade trail hawk.. No issues with regular oil change service through their express servise, at oil changes no suggestion of any repair issues. Express noted I needed new tires, which I followed their advise and bought me tires, I left with a notification on my dash all tires were at 38. A few hours later, the tire light came on and the tire pressure read — no pressure reading. Not alarmed, and on my way out of town for the weekend, decided to take back on monday. Sunday I heard a whistle noise coming from the passenger side of the engine when I accelerated after stopping at a light. Monday I made an appointment. The regular service advisor, tells me I have to pay $139 to reset the tire alert screen it is a software upgrade, I never heard of this fee, and it happened after you put new tires on my jeep? After much arguing, I agreed to pay. The whistling noise they said was my brake pad shot and rotors ruined. I had no issue with my brakes, no indicator of slipping or difficulty stopping, and why at oil changes no warning, and now I need new rotors? At 49k miles, I decided to just agree to the work, a most $1000. Since I got the work done, istllhave a tire light going on and — tire pressure, my brakes are way worse than before I got new brakes rotors, they squeak, slip, almost hit a car in front of me. It is nice they give me a loaner to use, but the time I have been spending going back and forth, missing work hours, and risk of safety, I need to know what dealership or where I can take my jeep 1 more time, and know that they will fix to where I will not have to bring it back again. I sent another request friday to my service advisor and did not hear back. I just want my jeep back working the way it did before I bought my tires please.

Chrysler service manager, doug krueger

Tuesday, September 10th. Van to Nye for transmission evaluation. Also needs tires and NYS inspection.

Friday September 13th. Work quote/work authorized .
Will order parts, 7-10 business days.

Friday, September, 27th.
call late afternoon, van done. (10th business day.)

Monday, September, 30th. Pick up van Monday, Mileage 97, 761.
No inspection, computer needs to reset, and we were told the Tech. experienced a
braking problem during a test drive. Doug told us that our brakes and rotors
(that were replaced less than a year ago) needed to be replaced not due to them
being worn, but because they weren't making proper contact, for reasons
unknown. He offered us a discounted cost of $600. We declined his generous offer.
After leaving the dealership, we noted some vibration.

Friday, October, 4th. (miles since repair = 186)
Midas for inspection Mileage 97, 947
Experienced total brake failure on Route 274 in the downhill switchbacks by gorge.
Midas Tech found front passenger wheel almost off. Said the cause of the brake
failure was due to the loose wheel and rotor, forcing the caliper to open.
Passed inspection, there were no other brakes issues.

Wednesday, October, 9th.
Experienced loud, crunching/scraping noises while exiting thruway from Syracuse.
Returned to Midas. They found excessive play in right front wheel bearing. Most
likely caused by the loose front wheel. Both axles were checked for excessive play,
normal play on right, zero play on left, axel seemed bound.

Thursday, October, 10th.
The van was raised at a local garage where I inspected it, along with the mechanic
Discovered: Driver side, front brake hose bracket not secured. This was due to a
bolt that broke during disassembly, and left dangling. I repaired it myself..
No other visual signs of anything unusual.

Tuesday, October, 15th. (miles since repair = 439)
Van has only been driven in cases of extreme necessity. The noises have become more frequent and the vibration is more pronounced.

Wednesday, October, 16th.
Van returned to Nye for wheel bering replacement and noise evaluation.

Friday, October, 18th.
We were contacted by Doug
We were told the wheel bearing needs replacing, however the axel shaft
was seized inside it and needed to be heated/destroyed to remove the bearing.
He informed us the cost of the bearing was covered, however the axel shaft that
NEEDED to be destroyed in the process was not. Est. Cost $ 537.
Doug claimed the seized state of the shaft in the bearing was discovered during
the transmission replacement. However, during my inspection on October 10th, I
suspected the right side axle nut had never been properly torqued, upon viewing
it, I discovered beyond any doubt, the nut had never even been removed.
Doug also claimed the broken bolt on the brake line bracket was not their doing.
Either way, it was an obvious, clearly visible, safety issue that should not have
been left unaddressed. Making this the second blatant, oversight that placed
our lives at serious risk.
He declined to offer any explanation for the other noises.

At first Doug told Louise the story, how the axel HAD to be destroyed in order to remove the bearing. He told me the same story, that is until I informed him, that one of my specialties is dealing with seized shafts and damaged threads. That's when he began to backpedal. "This is worst case scenario", he said. He claimed also, that if I Ok'd the $550 axel and didn't need it, he would have cheerfully called me, to tell me the good news. Considering the unnecessary brake job he insisted we needed and his persistent lie concerning the prior removal of the right side axel nut. I called him on this lie as well. My background is 40 years of precision machining and machine repair. I have all sorts of pullers and a 20ton press in my machine shop that would make quick work of practically any seized bearing/shaft. Doug claimed there was no way to press the axel out without excessive, damaging heat and destroying the threads. I've repaired too many threads in my day, that have been needlessly damaged by a simple lack of knowledge. There are some very simple basic steps any competent mechanic would know of to prevent such damage.

Monday, October, 21st.
We took our van from Nye, and went to the Victory dealership in Rome for the bearing replacement. We filled in the service advisor of our experience, and he had a good laugh.
He called within 2 hours to tell us of a problem, at first I thought, here we go again. He went on to say, the problem was: the bearing wasn't in stock, and politely asked if we were willing to wait until tomorrow? GLADLY! More sincere honesty in two hours than we received from NYE in weeks! A refreshing change from what seemed to be the barnyard, hillbilly operation at NYE. I will never do business there again.

Wednesday, October, 23rd. We picked up our van after the bearing replacement, which we were told was not seized to the shaft at all. They also needed to realign the front wheels because the alignment from Nye, was skewed due to the loose front wheel.
I would only expect this kind of treatment from the most poorly run, greedy grease monkey shops. NEVER a Chrysler dealership.

Chrysler 2020 ram 1500 series truck

Bought my new truck 2020 Ram 1500 last month in Illinois at Benntenhauser Dodge in Tinley Park. Traded in a 2015 Ram 1500 Series Truck. Drove it to Arizona on Sept 27th. Engine light came on about 300 miles before getting to Mesa Az. Brought to dealer, Rodeo in SanTan Valley, Az on Oct 2nd. Was oil sensor went bad and had to wait week for part from California. When went to pick up truck notice AC not working . Took back to dealer, was told evaporator was bad. Replaced that then I get truck back after another week and half. Drove 10 miles notice AC still not working, took back to dealer. They told me going to over charge the AC unit. 2 days later stopped by dealer to find out any info, can't get temperature to equalize out of all the vents. Then finally call me to pick up truck, saying it all good. Take it 5 miles to my home, AC still not working. Used an AC thermometer into vents ran for 15 minutes on high. Temp didn't drop below 58°. It was 74° degrees out at 7:44 pm. Also outside temp gauge read 93°, which that is now not working. I will send pictures, Rodeo mechanics said the truck is reading up to Chrysler specs. No one can supply me with specs their reading, so I got specs myself. I have 4 jeeps, 1993, 2003, 2015, 2018. I know 2015 has 1234 freon in it. 2018 has same. Both run 38 degrees out of vents. Never had any problem. Checked my neighbors truck, runs 35°. Called customer service gave all info send now. Get call yesterday Oct. 21st from Leonel at Chrysler customer care, told me I'm on my own. So this is how to deal with customers. Been loyal to Chrysler products for long time. Dealer has had truck longer than I have, still there, brand new. All I want is for my truck to perform like a new truck on their lot. If they can't, please let me know why. They say its meeting with standard, 58° degrees. Should be 45° or lower. I have Chrysler & Honda standards. 55° is at the very highest when it's over 100° outside. At very highest should be 45° out of vents. I just dont know what to do anymore., not very happy, pretty upset.
Unsatisfied customer, Steve Gillis

Chrysler 2014 ram ecodiesel

2014 Ram ecodiesel VIN 1C6Rr7LM2ES417630 purchased new October 2014. Service electronic throttle and limp mode at least 14 times. Scheduled installation of approved emission modification software for May 24th, modification installation caused check engine light. Dealership could not figure out problem they finally put a DEF injector on it and I got truck back August 9th, it was there 79 days. Court settlement called for a loaner vehicle if modification took more than 3 hours, I was offered one on day 71. I also was not given copy of the extended warranty.August 27th truck broke down and needed intake manifold replaced. Got truck back 22 days later on Sept 17th, Drove 25 miles check eng. light came on and truck was leaking antifreeze. Returned to dealership on Sept. 19th. Picked truck up 8 days later on Sept.26th after changing turbo coolant inlet tube. Drove 25 miles again and Check Eng. Light came back on. Immediately returned to dealership. They checked the codes and said truck needed to go thru a driving procedure for light to go off and told me how to do it. While driving the next day Sept 29 check engine light still on and then service electronic throttle warning came on and truck went into limp mode. Carried back to dealer on Sept. 30th. On Oct. 4th dealership said truck needed egr valve and had to order it. They told me I could come get it and drive it because their mechanic would be on vacation Oct 7th thru 11th. Picked up truck and it was still in limp mode very dangerous so could not drive it.yycOn Oct. 14 said part still not in. On Oct 18 said was ready but said it was turbo pressure switch, not egr valve. Drove 45 miles and check engine light back on. Dealership said bring it back Oct 21st. Truck unusable 128 out of last 148 days. FCA has violated 3 provisions of the court ordered settlement. This truck is in immaculate shape but will not get me to my mailbox. FCA gladly took my $50, 000.00 when I bought it but now will not make it usable. Scheduling appointment with attorney to discuss Fiat Chrysler Americas neglect in administering the provisions of the court ordered settlement. Worst financial mistake I ever made was buying this vehicle and Chrysler could care less.

Chrysler 2015 chrysler, town & country, touring-l, vin # 2c4rc1cg1fr716918

October 18, 2019

2015 Chrysler, Town & Country, Touring-L, VIN # 2C4RC1CG1FR716918

In 2015 I bought the above vehicle from the Aurora Chrysler. In September 2018 the vehicle developed serious defects in which I brought it in into the Serpa dealership in Scarborough, Ontario. The mechanics were unable to diagnose the problem because shortly after the problem went away. From then to now the problem came and went and was unable to be diagnosed correctly. I recently brought it back to the Serpa Dealership in which the mechanics told me that they want to install a remanufactured engine for $11, 000. At this time, the vehicle is in the mechanic shop of the Serpa dealership.

Currently my vehicle is four years old and has mileage of 190, 000 kilometers. Based on this, I believe there was a flaw in the manufacturing of the engine of the car. While I understand that the warranty of my vehicle has expired, I am asking for Chrysler to cover or share with me the cost of the required repair.
Ordinary wear and tear could not account for the problem so soon in the life of the vehicle. I am a careful and conscientious owner, as the general condition of the car shows. I believe that the failure in the engine is not due to neglect or error on my part. Furthermore, this problem with the engine has caused and continues to cause serious safety concerns for my family and I. The most serious instance involved a near T-bone accident in which I was making a left turn and the engine was not accelerating as it should have.

I am very disappointed from what has happened with my vehicle. This is not the type of service I would have expected from a reputed company like yours. Please let me know as quickly as possible what arrangements you propose for rectifying the problem.

Sincerely,
Chris Dermentzis

Chrysler service on my vehicle

The last couple weeks my 2016 Jeep Patriot has been acting up. when taking off from a red light it would feel really jerky and then this red lighting bolt light would come on with my check engine light and traction control light, I would pull over shut it down wait a few minutes then go again and it would be fine for a couple days then happen again. I called car loft where I bought it and they said that they own Jim Thompson Chrysler to call them. o had seen a couple reviews online saying the vehicle had been recalled for the exact same reasons. when I spoke to someone at Jim Chrysler they said that it had not been recalled but I had paid for the extended warranty so to bring it in and they would check it out, I made an appointment for the very next day. I dropped it off on Thursday October 10th at 11am, when I asked about another vehicle I could drive while mine was in getting fixed the secretary said they don't do "loaner" cars and it would probably be fixed the next day anyhow. I found a ride home and within half an hour they called me and said that I needed a new throttle body and a tune up. The total would be $1359. at first she said that it isn't covered by warranty but then called back to say that it is cover the ($1000) but I would still have to pay the $359 I said that was fine and to go ahead and fix it. they called me back within an hour and said that it needs a new wiring harness and that the warranty was willing to split the $1200 with me on that so they would pay $600 plus tax and I would have to pay the same plus the $359. I said okay because I need my vehicle back. after another hour they called back to tell me I needed a new "tippen" and this is what caused all the problems to begin with> she said a brand new tippen cost $1200 but they had a used one there they can sell me for $600. very upset I told them I need my vehicle back. They assured me they would have it ready to be picked up Friday. I didn't hear from them all day Friday so when I called them she said they put the new tippen in and its still not fixing the problem and the odds of the tippen not working that they installed was slim to none. they said I must have a family of mice living in my vehicle that have chewed wires and come Tuesday morning they would charge me by the hour to start following every wire to see where the mice had chewed. I assured her I didn't think this was the problem since my neighbours that park right beside me have never had a problem with mice and my neighbour on the other side has 5 cats. she then told me that I was over by one kilometre for anything to be covered on the warranty.

Chrysler gas tank

I have a 2012 Jeep Liberty. It has had many problems and recalls. But now I have just had to replace the gas tank! The plastic piece on the mold for from the line to the tank was just hanging there and there is no replacement part, so I had to replace the tank. The check engine light had come on and after $600 for parts I didnt need and diagnosis tests a smoke test revealed emissions coming from above the gas tank.

I also just replaced another regulator for my rear driver window that was stuck down. I have replaced this part 3 times in the past 3 years. This Jeep is a lemon, and have lost faith in Jeep and Chrysler. I would like to speak with someone about this particular car.

Back in the spring of this year 2019 our back up camera went black after numerous times of going out and coming back on so Anderson dodge in Rockford Illinois replaced the back up camera When I first saw it I couldn't believe the poor quality of veiwing that I was getting! So much so that I was under the impression that they forgot to take a film off the camera. We took the car back and they replaced the back up camera once again and once again we have very poor quality. It is absolutely not the quality of the camera that came in the car when we first purchased it and I am very disappointed in the cloudiness in the darkness of these new replacement cameras ! I want my original camera back in working order ! This thing that is being used in place of it is totally not Chrysler quality !

Chrysler step one automotive dealerships

While having my jeep repaired at Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT Ft. Walton located at, 541 Mary Esther Cut Off NW, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548, the Light Bar was removed (stolen) from the Jeep. 2 weeks ago, I went to pick up the jeep from dealership and noticed immediately (when technician brought vehicle around) the light bar was missing. Although it was EXTREMELY obvious with the empty bracket holes, not to mention the jeep was dusty/dirty with the exception the "missing" light bar area which seemed free of dust/dirt, yet the technician refused to acknowledge my concern. I repeatedly stated the light bar was missing and he told me I would have to take it up with management. I proceeded to service desk and informed personnel of situation, to which I was told I needed to file a police report. I immediately filed police report (when officer responded, personnel were unaccommodating and explained "NONE" of their surveillance cameras were operable.
I waited a week for report to get completed/filed and retrieved hard copy and delivered to Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT of Ft. Walton.
Fast forward another week and still no response. On the 2nd of October, I finally made contact with "service manager" to which he stated I would need to contact my insurance company regarding the $900 accessory.

I am flabbergasted that I took my vehicle to a "DEALERSHIP" for service/maintenance whereas theft occurred and I am being told I would have to file on my insurance. Makes no sense to me.

Chrysler 2014 dodge ram 1500

I bought this truck used and did not notice the bubbling all around the edges of the hood. The hood is aluminum and the paint is not sticking to the primer or metal.
These pictures are just a small area of the hood.

In talking with Dodge they said this truck was built for Canada. They also stated that they are permitted to use substandard materials for vehicles in Canada and that is Canada's choice.

This Truck is not under warranty anymore. I guess that is what you get for $40, 000.00 Dodge as a company obviously believes that a vehicle of that price should only keep its paint for 5 years.

This certainly is a sad statement for American car companies. They may at one time have been a quality
company but as they say "this too shall pass" Sadly we are witnessing the end of both, quality and ethics.

Perhaps a good European truck like Toyota :-) Good bye Dodge, we'll miss you :-(

Chrysler 2010 jeep patriot north addition

Why the CVT Transmission hasn't been recalled is beyond me. I have 177, 000 km on it and since 168, 000 km it slips when accelerating. It's so sketchy and slugs at low speed can barely get on the highway. I'm afraid it's going to break at any moment. Why did someone who was not divinchi try and make a divinchi invention.

You should recall these. A tranny mechanic told me the belt is breaking and small pieces of metal are getting into the fluid.

I shouldn't be afraid of this going with such low km.

Chrysler 2010 town and country: engine stalls

2010 chrysler town and country. ABS/ESP light comes on. Engine stalls completely.
Total shutdown. This usually occurs when braking. I have taken my vehicle to several mechanics (6) and have no resolution. I have replaced many items, but the problem is that no one has found the problem. One dealership had the vehicle when codes were showing, but no problems were found. This is the 4th Chrysler/Dodge product that I have owned, but I am worried about owning my current vehicle, and future vehicles. I do not think that there is enough effort to notify carbuyers of the problems with Chrysler products. Researching online, I see that there are lots of these vehicles that should be off the road. I have called to check on recalls, but my vin number is not one affected according to the month it was manufactured. I have spent at least $1200 on possible items, but the problem is still there. I have an appointment with a dealership for more diagnosis.
I truly would like a resolution and have my vehicle in a safe condition.

Chrysler stalling and alternator failure 5.7 jeep grand cherokee at high speed.

Over the time I have owned this this vehicle, it has completely stalled at least 4 times with complete loss of power to the whole engine at speeds up to 120kph on motorways and I have been lucky that in each time I was able to pull over without being hit by other cars. I was told at the time it was the battery and I have changed the battery...It was said that it was due to the battery being flat and so was replaced.

The last incident included the battery light coming on, then stereo closing down, the a/c going off, every single warning light coming. Hot air blasting through the air vents and the windows locking. Followed by overheating. The report is that the alternator has failed and the Power Module is broken.
This exact same issue was reported as a fault on several vehicles in the Jeep range and recalled by T36. My vehicle however was not covered in this recall yet I am sure it in not a coincidence it has failed in exactly the same way.
The vehicle is a 5.7L Grand Cherokee with 220 AMP Alternator.
The work will cost 1783.00USD to repair. I would like request for this to be included in the recall with exactly the same failures and safety issues and fixed by the manufacturer at no charge.
My vehicle is located in the UAE and have not been able to find a suitable person/email to make a complaint with as they will not tell me who to contact. When I contact the Mopar customer services by email, it has been ignored.
I have tried to get the diagnostic report in order to include in in my complaint but was told when the battery is changed or when it stalled and removed the battery the car loses all the diagnostics which I find very hard to believe. I have tried to get them to raise this safety complain in the UAE and am getting nowhere. I have also been told I have to pay the 1780USD to repair it in order to get any information from the car.
