Children's Place - Being forced to pay taxes on merchandise that was purchased tax free on line.

Hello. My name is Renee' Atkinson. My email is [protected]@yahoo.com. On 08/12/2021 I purchased my daughters uniform on line when it was tax free. Unfortunately her school posted the wrong color online for her grade level. On 08/17/2021 I received my order in the mail. I immediately went to your Oxon Hill, MD store (store #1453) the same day to make an exchange for the right color. I needed black instead of red. I looked for my daughter size and correct color on the floor only to be able to find two of the nine shirts that I needed. I asked the cashier if she had anymore in the back. She stated to me that she couldn't check because the other associate was on a meal break and that she couldn't leave the floor to check for me. She stated that I could wait until she returned from break or return back to the store in 15 minutes. I left and I came back. The same cashier told me that she only had seven of the items that I needed. She stated to me that your policy with online purchases that she is supposed to return the items and then put the refund on a gift card. Then I have to repurchase the items I wanted with the gift card. All I wanted to do was an even exchange. I wanted to exchange for a different color. The cashier rang the gift card up, but then told me that I had to pay taxes on it. Which doesn't make any sense to me. I'm only exchanging. I paid for your product tax free. Why am I paying taxes for merchandise I've already paid for? The cashier called the store manager for her to only say the same thing. She eventually did a one time courtesy and got the taxes down to where I still ended up paying $0.05. I shouldn't have paid that. I'm upset with your policy. It's not right. Also, there should have been more staff to accommodate your customers. I witnessed the young lady tell another customer to come back as well. This is the busy season for school. One staff member working the floor is inexcusable. Another staff member should have been available to take that employees' place while on break. I've been a customer of yours for over 12 years and I'm disappointed. I still have two shirts I need to exchange for the right color. I also wanted to go up in size for the shorts I purchased, but because it was slim. I was told I couldn't purchase that size in store. That was on line only. My daughter is very petite and tall. So some of your pants fit her in the waist but then come above her ankles. Then If I up the size. It's too big in the waist and the length is fine. I suggest you giving an option of petite/slim long. I'd like to be reimbursed my $0.05 please. I plan to go to another Childrens Place to find the other two shirts that I need. So I know I will have to request for another refund. I'd like to be reimbursed my money. Please consider changing your policy with on line purchases. Also, consider the option petite/slim long for pants. We should be able to purchase the same product in store as well as on line. Not just some of your items on line only. Then if you need to exchange for another size you'd have to do a refund and then repurchase online hoping you have the right size.

Desired outcome: Refund. Change your policy

Children's Place - customer service

The customer service I received today from the manager at this location was unsatisfactory. First the store doors wasn't even open at 10, I had to call the store's number to ask when will the store be open. After I came in to pick up my order, I was told by the associate my order wasnt in the system, the associate then asked the manager on duty could she come look, when the manager looked I was told the same thing my order wasn't there. I then tried to explain to her I that I have two emails stating my order is here, I then ask her could she call customer service to see where is my order, she told me no and said "what do u want me to do your order is not here" and she proceeded to go back in the back of the store. So I proceeded to call customer service myself, the representative that assisted me told me my order was there, the manager still being rude no apology or anything still trying to tell me the reason is because my name was misspelled in the system, I ask her so why couldn't you look up my order by my order number, she said we dont use that, but later she indeed ask me for my order number. The manager was very unprofessional and I will never go into that location again.
