CenturyLink Threatening/Cyberbullying Behavior

On March 10, 2020 after being screamed at by one of their associates who had proceeded to threaten me unless I had followed his instructions in committing at least two different felonies (I had refused to help him activate two credit cards that didn't have any money on them), this is when the threats got to be even worse than before. The person had also committed a federal offense by claiming to be with the FBI when in reality his phone number was attached to global crossing marketing management . This is also when the person had started threatening me with legal action unless I had followed his instructions in regards to the two credit cards that I have since destroyed by threatening me saying that I would be spending the rest of my life in jail living in total isolation just because I didn't want to commit several felonies not to mention threatening my livilihood by threatening to garnish my wages until I paid off the two credit cards when in reality he owes me $8, 158 from a bank debt that he had caused (the bank debt is $6, 938 plus the cost of $850 worth of gift cards the he had forced me to purchase plus the cost of $370 that he had stolen from me). The person had also threatened to involve the two kids who I happen to take care of, which is completely unacceptable behavior. After I had blocked him from contacting me through Text messages, the person's behavior has started to affect my job as a nanny because I don't feel safe anymore not to mention afffecting the way that I live because I don't know what he is going to threaten me with next time

CenturyLink voice/telephone

I disconnected my service due to moving and was told it was my last and final bill. I then received a bill for $13.29 which was a $12.00 disconnect fee and $1.29 in taxes and fees on top of that.
This is unscrupulous to charge a "final fee" for doing...nothing!
I contact customer service asking for a waiver and they refused stating this is charged to everyone.
Well this is why many people refuse to deal with such companies and be charged silly fees that just alienate the already shrinking customer base.

CenturyLink personal and canceling service

On December 5th I called to cancel my internet service as it's too slow. I called in November to see if I could get faster service but only 5mbps more and I only have 5 then. The lady on the phone wouldn't listen to be and kept over talking me and wouldn't let me cancel eve though I said I wanted to cancel 10 times. I should have a right to change services and my mind and she or Century link should listen to the customer. My sister was here and heard the same thing. I finally got frustrated arguing with her for ever and told her to cancel my service as of December 5 and hung up. She didn't cancel it but 2 days later my modem quit working so I thought I was okay. Now they want money and I'm to blame. Doesn't a customer matter anymore? or is it just sell, sell, sell. I had been a customer with them for 15 plus years and got no respect. I just don't feel I owe them anymore money.

Charged for a dead phone! Phone has not worked much this year. When they fix it the first time it rains it has a terrible noise in phone so bad we can't hear anyone or them us. Was promised 1.5 Mbps but was informed we can't get it in our area although a close neighbor has at least 1 Mbps. I have an extremely sick
totally disabled husband and I need an extra phone, one that works! We were charged many times for services we don't use, or want. It all adds up. We need better internet for fair prices. Since we have requested higher internet, it has gotten even worse, our speed is 768 Kbps. We are charged as of now for up to 1.5Mbps that they say we cannot have. We are older people also. Not right to be charged big bills for a dead phone. We have been faithful customers and paid our bills on time for about 18 years! This is not fair. I have a lot of the bills where we were charged for things we didn't have.

CenturyLink internet services/emails

For the second time in approx. 2 months I could not access my email account. I was told both times that my email address could not be found. Even though I was receiving emails up until the afternoon before my emails stopped and I received some kind of error code. When I talked to centurylink my email didn't exist and had lost all of my emails, some of which were very important. Centurylink had no answers and didn't care at all.
I will not go through this again. If my email stops working again, I will certainly disconnect my services. I have been a centurylink customer for a very long time and I have never been treated with such disrespect by any company as I have with you. Stop treating your loyal customers like they don't matter.

CenturyLink 5g wifi

We had slower wifi. I called CenturyLink and the person I spoke with said I could upgrade to 5 G and get much faster wifi. Since we upgraded we've had nothing but problems. Wifi just stops working for no reason and it is not any faster than our old wifi. If I could I'd go back to what we had before. This "upgrade" is the absolute worst. Don't upgrade to 5G

CenturyLink centurylink's subcontractor cut my gas line

On Sep 16th, 2019 Century Link left a message saying they had contracted out someone to bury our intranet line. It should have already been buried. On Sept 28 we have no hot water. On Oct 4th we turn on the furnace for the first time this winter and it doesn't work. After almost two weeks without hot water we get a new one put in. Oct 9th the plumbers is trying to get the new hot water to work and finds out the house is not getting any gas. We walk to the side of the house and the gas smell is very strong. The plumber calls the city and the city discovers the gas line has been cut and the wire on top of the gas line is the Century Link intranet line. After the city fixes the gas line the furnace and hot water heater work. I am being told that Century Link doesn't think it was the gas that was the problem with my hot water heater. I want my hot water heater paid for by Century Link. We are lucky no one was killed. The subcontractor did not call 811 and get the house marked before they dug. Negligent! The photos tell the story and the city is filing a complaint for having to fix the gas line. We would appreciate Century Link doing the right thing and paying for our hot water heater that we didn't need. Thank you.

CenturyLink long distance service

I am seeking to terminate Account number [protected]. I have had at least four phone conversations, two or three online chats, sent email to CenturyTel personnel about closing this account and terminating CenturyTel being our long -distance carrier. Last week I was told there is no record of our having an account. Wednesday I tried Quick Pay and again no record of an account, but whenever I make a call from our phone line [protected]), I reach this CenturyTel number (800-860-1020). We want AT&T to be our long distance carrier as they serve where we live in California. We got the Century number years ago when we were traveling and before cell phones. We no longer use or need this number. We also have an 800 number that fed into CenturyTel (800/726-8847 ). They will not terminate our CenturyTel service and keep sending me back and forth to the same numbers and websites and each refers back to the other - it is a total runaround

I called on 2/8/2021 to report my internet was down. After speaking to several different people, I was finally able to get one that seemed like they cared. I upgraded to a faster speed since it was finally available in my area and scheduled a technician to come out on February 17 to install and do the upgrade. My internet, of course, was still down at this time, so I was switched to another person that promptly hung up on me after I was connected. Finally got back through to a live person and was told that my internet had been upgraded and would not work until I had the new modem installed. I pointed out that my internet was down prior to me agreeing to upgrade and I could not go a week without it. They said they would a send a technician out in 2 days. That didn't happen and after calling again, I get a text that there was an outage in my area that was causing the problem. Two days later my internet was finally working (even though they said it wouldn't until I received the new modem). The tech never showed up on the 17th to do the upgrade either & trying to get someone who won't lie to you or even give a damn, is a NIGHTMARE! Not to mention they insist that someone over 18 has to be home between 8-5pm, so a wasted day off work. This company should be ashamed of their customer service. I have been with them for over 25 years only because I have no choice where I live. Centurklink..stand up and do the right thing by your loyal customers!

CenturyLink global crossing phone # [protected]

Get these calls often . They say legal enforcement on my social security #. I don't answer unknown numbers so get the message. Call them for help as its going to court and I am going to be arrested. The calls show this Texas number.
I also get them saying I have a warrant for my arrest for IRS fraud. Why are they not stopped. The calls no doubt scare a lot of people who call them back giving them information they should not have

Hello ! I am a customer of centurylink and the reason why I'm writing to you is for months my internet has constant interuption everyday and I've constantly call and they have claim they lowered my monthly bill, but they didn't, so they compensated me with $20 off my next bill, but I've called them and said If this persist and I decide to stay with the company what can you do ? So they claimed that they will lower my monthly bill ($75.00), But I just got a bill for $109.00 and so how fair is that for me .

CenturyLink internet

I was charged 121.00 a day, that's right per day.

I disputed this ridiculous charge and was told the total per month would be 400.00.

This was after 2 hours on the phone explaining 121.00 a day, yes per day, is ridiculous.

I refused to pay and they sent the bill to collections which impacted my credit.

Complete Scam!

Avoid this company with all your might.

CenturyLink refusing to change due dates.

I have internet through Century Link for some time now. I regret that they are the only company in my area. Today, 10/10/2019 I called to request that they change my due date as I am being charged $18 a month in late fees. I was told, "we can't do that". I am being charged this every month because I don't get paid until the 3 of each month. They want to be paid by the 19th of the month. So, I am in arrears every month.
This is not a hard thing to do, one should be able to accommodate a long time customer. Can't just doesn't hack it. Supposedly it's their system that won't allow it. B.S. They are greedy and just want to take more money from people on a fixed income.

CenturyLink lied about the internet speed I could upgrade to now refuses to give back speed I had

My phone and internet service went out in July so I called Centurylink. All customer service does is push services down someones throat. The guy on the phone said I see you only have 8mbps internet but at no additional cost we can push a button and you can have 10mbps. I said why not since it was the same cost. The repair ticket was placed and in a week a tech came out named Daniel and said another phone line was touching mine so he put in a new line for me and also lightening protectors in my box. Well a month went by and my internet was doing great no problems at all till the beginning of September when my phone was gone again. I called in a repair ticket and Daniel came out and said someone tried to put in a 10mbps line and it knocked your phone out. You can only get 8mbps in this area 10 mbps will not work. He said not to let customer service try to tell me 10 mbps is available when that is not true. He said I've got your internet fixed back to the 8mbps you had before. Well my internet is so so slow now I can not even read my emails. For me to read one email I click on it and walk around the house for awhile and finally it comes up. Well I know why. I'm only getting 3 mbps now. The 8 is no longer available and because of centurylink customer service I am now screwed. Centurylink says all that is available is 3 mbps since the 10 mbps will not work. They refuse to cancel everything and give me back the 8 mbps. I was never told anything like if the 10 doesn't work you can't get the 8 back. All I was made to believe was 10 mbps was available. All my neighbors have 8 mbps so I should get my 8 mbps back since it was centurylink that took it away. I have put in another repair ticket so my internet can be fixed so it is 8 mbps. Daniel is coming back out and going to try and explain to the main office what has happened. He doubts centurylink will do anything. He wasnt the one who put in the 10 mbps line or he said he would of never installed it because he knew it would not work. I know centurylink has the authority since it is their company to fix my internet and give me back the 8 mbps. Why they are choosing to be mean is beyond me. I think is is truly cruel what they are doing to their customers. I'm still paying the same amount for the 3 mbps as I was paying for the 8 mbps. Centurylink link needs to care about their customers.

CenturyLink centurylink internet and prism tv

We started our services with CL in July 2017. Right from the beginning, the salesperson at the retail location by our home promised us a price for the Internet and Prism TV package we selected. Received the first bill and it was much higher than promised. After many calls and a trip back to the retail location, I finally got to talk with a Supervisor face-to-face. She ultimately corrected the incorrect billing and guaranteed our price of $165/month. I usually don't pay much attention when paying the bill but after a few months, noticed that my bill was slowly getting higher and higher. I called many times and they made adjustments to get it back to the guaranteed amount but eventually, within 6 months or so of starting service with them, they stopped guaranteeing our price. Long story short, If we would not have canceled at month 24, our bill would have increased to $280/month because of all the supposed discounts they gave us expired. Also, we had no idea that we were on a two-year contract!

Fast forward... canceled the service on month 24, was charged a $20 early cancellation fee and was told that I would receive a shipping box with pre-paid label to return all the equipment. Over 2 months, talked to four CenturyLink representatives because we never received the box or label. Each time, the Rep gave me a different story about the previous rep not actually sending it, etc. I took names, dates, times and noted everything with the calls and how each Rep treated me. We finally, after almost two months, received an empty cardboard box with a prepaid label on it but to my surprise, the prepaid label was only for 2 pounds. All of our equipment was 14 pounds. I packaged everything and took it to UPS hoping they would accept it and charge Centurylink for the additional weight. They would not. I called Centurylink and asked them if they would send a pre-paid label for 14 pounds and they refused. I tried to talk to a supervisor and as usual, a supervisor was not available. At this point I just decided to pay for the shipping and shipped all the equipment to them with signature confirmation. It was delivered and signed for by Centurylink. I was out $22.63 to ship it but at least they cannot say I did not return the equipment and try to charge me for it. Wishful thinking. I thought that was the end of it but low and behold, a week later I receive a bill for $800.65 less a credit of $96.52 with a balance due of $704.13. I called CenturyLink again and immediately asked for a Supervisor and was connected to a Supervisor in Guatamala City. He verified my equipment was returned and said he would make corrections to the bill. I already had a credit on our account for $96.52 and demanded that they refund the shipping charges of $22.63 to me. He promised me he would correct the billing error and refund me the $119.15 in 45 days. What, 45 days? I told him that was unacceptable because my account will be past due by then and they could easily submit it to collections. He said that would not happen but was not able to provide anything in writing that my account would be properly adjusted or that I would receive the refund. I had no choice but to take him by his word and was given no other options.

I guess time will tell. I will continue to monitor it in case they try to submit our account to collections. I will try to update this once I receive, or don't receive what I was promised.

CenturyLink federal student loans

To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Maria D. Botelho. I have student loans with the US Dept of Education.Just today I received an email from the The Great Lakes, which is a official service that handles the loan payments and it is located in St. Louis, Missouri. I contacted them using their website mygreatlakes.org asking someone there about my loan payments. I left an email message this morning and I asked someone to call me back. Then this afternoon 9/6/19, I received a call from a suspicious number 484-4631321 and the woman on the other end did not identified herself and said that if I had a federal loan and applied for deferment I should click on option 1 to be connected with someone. I dropped the call since I found it suspicious. I did a reverse phone lookup and I found out that it was a fraud, and furthermore the call came from a landline and from a Philadelphia suburb. I live in Philadelphia. The name of this suspicious service is Global Crossing Local Services, Inc, PA (Pennsylvania). How this company found out that I contacted Great Lakes loan services? I think they hacked the Great Lakes website. I will contacted Great Lakes on Monday 9/9 and inform them. This is very scary and terrible. Thnks

CenturyLink Fraudulent text

I keep getting a text from a Mike stating that he got all my information from the title company and wants to buy my house. It's a SMS text from (614) 664-3735. Their carrier is Global Communications and when I searched on their name, I saw all the other complaints. It's a local number and what is worrisome is that they include my home address in the text. CenturyLink Internet was stopped in august of 2015

I have been paying Century Link for internet service since 2008 through the HOA. So my bill has been 30 and change and I pay 42.60/ month. The service was changed in 2015 without me being aware. I continued to pay the money monthly and when I needed to call a repair man. He informed me that I could not have service with Century Link. So I have been paying for a service I have not been receiving since 2015. Please review and get me some sort of a refund. I even had a credit when the service was discontinued in August 2019. Name: Penny Nichols Bank: American United Foothill Drive SLC and *231R shows the payments made to a service I was no longer receiving. Please review and my telephone # is [protected] if someone could call that can be of assistance and not tell me there is nothing that can be done... I paid it but you should of known there was no service.

CenturyLink Telemarketing scam

I have received 14 calls from 8163688111 and that number consistently comes back to your company. It states a scenario which is a scam involving "deactivated social security account".

Despite my phone block and carrier block of the number, it continues to come through. Therefore, I must assume your company is clear violation of the do not call list which I am registered on.

Please cease and desist all calls to my number. [protected].

I do not wish to receive any calls. just take me off the call list. This is a scam and apparently, whatever subdivision is doing this, you are completely out of control.
